The 11 Best Ice Cream Spots In Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Fun Jeni’s tidbit: the chain’s first location outside of Ohio was the East Nashville shop. And while they’re all over the place now, the quality hasn’t dropped. Each flavor brings a mouth-coating creaminess to the party without being cloyingly sweet. And half the fun of going is getting to sample as many of Jeni’s flavors as possible before deciding on your final scoop. While the classics like Gooey Butter Cake and Brown Butter Almond Brittle are on constant rotation, the limited-edition seasonal flavors know how to bring the lines on release day. Just ask the sad procrastinators who underestimated the Ted Lasso and Dolly Parton collab drops." - jackie gutierrez jones 2

The Best Ice Cream Shops in Nashville | Eater Nashville

"While Columbus, Ohio, will always claim Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams as its own, Nashville feels like the booming regional chain’s adopted home. The East Nashville location was founder Jeni Britton’s first expansion outside of Ohio, and now she has half a dozen scoop shops in Nashville alone, where you can pick up favored flavors like Gooey Butter Cake as well as limited editions like a Ted Lasso tie-in called Biscuits With the Boss and another featuring pieces of cream biscuits and peaches sourced here in Nashville." - Eater Staff

Google
Hand down one of my top 3 fave ice cream spots. They always have great flavors! I got to 3 try the goat cheese and bloom. Both 5/5! Excellent service and it was a chill Tuesday with no lines but they seemed equipped to handle large crowds.

Revisiting those magical first dates with my partner at Jenny's Ice Cream is such an exhilarating journey! Each scoop was a new adventure, filled with laughter and sweet moments that I'll cherish forever!

Google
Strong in the Force, Jeni’s Ice Cream is. Sample first, they let me—wise and kind, they were. Chose the Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks in a waffle bowl. Creamy. Salty. Chocolate-rich. Pure harmony, it was. Waffle bowl? Golden, warm, the perfect vessel. Staff? Friendly as a fellow Jedi. For those seeking artisan ice cream, trust Jeni’s. A treat it is.

Google
The ice cream was amazing. My only feedback (from a decelty picky eater) was there weren't many "boring flavors." I know- its a weird thing to critique. But the server was super kind, very knowledgeable, and patient as we sampled many of thr different flavors.

Google
Jeni’s has hands down the best textured ice cream I’ve ever tried — smooth, rich, and somehow light all at once. And the flavor? Absolutely incredible. We had to come back a second day just to make sure it was as good as we remembered… and it totally was. Then I read the napkin and it all made sense — they’re serious about the science behind their scoops. These folks aren’t messing around. If you’re in Nashville, don’t miss it. Worth every bite.

Google
One of the best ice cream places in Nashville. I have literally tried every single one of their flavors and I love most of them. All the times that I have visited the staff has been always welcoming and nice. Honestly now I am just waiting for them to release more flavors so I can taste them. Anyone reading this review has any questions or need any suggestions about the flavors please ask me lol 😂

Google
very good ice cream (not super sweet) but buttery! Wild lavender flavor and 2 top flavors.. cannot remember what she put on my cup loli

Google
The taste was too good. The only high calorie I did not regret eating. They were rushing a bit, due to the long queue so I couldn’t try all lot of flavours that I wanted to. Must visit treat specially in the summers! Not so expensive as we got 3 scoops with waffle cone for $10. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate and gooey butter cake was a gooood combination!

Yelp
You can never go wrong with Jeni's. That's it. That's the review. But seriously - get a standard flavor (like coffee, complete with fragrant coffee grounds) and a seasonal (like the iced gingerbread or sweet potato) and you will be set for a decadent treat.

Yelp
I love jeni's ice cream so it was fun to eat at a brick and mortar store! Friendly workers who are efficient in this tiny little space. Good variety of seasonal and non seasonal flavors.

Yelp
Hands down the best ice cream I've ever had without all the garbage chemicals and poison they put in our food supply. Can not recommend this place enough. They even have gluten free options. Just such amazing and delicious ice cream! Good service and the ambiance of an ice cream shop.
google avatar

Yelp
Great location while in Nashville off Broadway if you're looking for something sweet! They have very good and different flavors. Super friendly staff, seating outside not much seating inside and great quality ice cream!

Yelp
Jenis, PLEASE sell your sparkling cherry pie, boozy eggnog and banana pudding ice cream pints at Whole Foods, Fresh Market and/or Publix in South Florida. I don't like ordering ice cream online... Please, make my day! I scoured your website and looks like none of the big three stores sell these flavors in my area. I was in Nashville in October, just a few weeks ago. Now, I am not a huge sweets person. I like ice cream. I am not in love with it like some people I know. But I ordered sparkling cherry pie ice cream on the first day I was at Jeni's Downtown Nash. I also ordered brittle butter almond ice cream the first day. I think the other flavor was The Darkest Chocolate, or something like that. I actually ordered four scoops but to be fair, these are described as half scoops. They really aren't though. They are full scoops I realized. Anyway, I had a sample of the sparkling cherry pie and this is one of the two best ice creams I ever ate. It is so good, that I went each of the four days I was in Nashville to order this one flavor on a multiple scoop cone. The ice cream was like $12 per cone. However, for the quality it could actually be worth more. Heck. lower grade ice creams are almost that much, so why not order a better quality ice cream? Staff was hit or miss at this location. Some gals were cheery and others...not so much. I just wanted this delicious ice cream. I wish Jeni's had a location in the Fort Lauderdale area. Hint, hint. ;)

Yelp
I had just finished eating over at the nearby Assembly Food Hall and was walking around when I noticed Jeni's out of my peripheral vision. Being a big fan of ice cream as well as being familiar with the Jeni's brand, I thought this would be a great finisher to my dinner, so off I went. I was first introduced to Jeni's via my local supermarket - while not the cheapest brand, the quality is great and they have a good selection of unique flavors. I then visited one of their brick and mortar shops for the first time when I was in Dallas last year which further made me a fan of their brand - so this was an easy yes when deciding to stop here for a treat. This Jeni's is located in a shopping area right in the heart of downtown so I assume they get a lot of foot traffic due to that - though I got lucky when I arrived as there was only one person in front me. The shop itself is kinda small, but they have it set up so that the flow of the line is optimized. As expected, they have a lot of unique flavors as well as the classics - as soon as it was my turn I was offered the chance to sample whichever I wanted. However, I had an idea of what I wanted from the start; I noticed on a sign outside they were highlighting a Bay Leaf Cheesecake flavor which sounded really interesting so I went with that in a cone. The ice cream itself was really good; it was creamy as I expected from Jeni's and the addition of the bay leaf gave it a slightly savory flavor - I was a fan. Service was good - the staff was eager to help and before I knew it I was checking out. Overall, this Jeni's is a solid offering in downtown Nashville - I wouldn't be against returning if I was in the area again.

Yelp
This place was very popular. We had a hunkering for a dessert after walking downtown and we saw this place had a line so we knew it must be good. We waited about 10 minutes before we got to the front of the line where they had so many unique flavors that it was hard to choose. I had some type of birthday cake and a chocolate Oreo cookies and cream and a waffle cone. It was very delicious and very sweet. We'll definitely visit again if we're in Nashville, another time.
google avatar

Ray F.

Yelp
Just a little high priced for what you get. It was just alright, to me. I'd definitely try another shop next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Hailing from the dairy rich land of Ohio, Jeni's was founded in 2002 by a woman who started making ice cream in her early 20's. Her recipes are made with milk from family-run dairies, and are flavored with fresh fruits, and Fair/Direct Trade chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. Nothing artificial, ever. Jeni's now has over 30 scoop shops in the US, including this one, in a hectic multi-business plaza in downtown Nashville. On a Saturday night, the line was 30 people deep, but moved quickly. The interior was cramped, and not adequately air conditioned. The ice cream was delicious as usual, but very soft. By the time I walked a few blocks to find a place to sit, my 3 scoop cone had melted all over my hands. The textural issues were definitely due to the heat, and I think this location should take extra precautions to maintain the temperature in the store. Regardless, I enjoyed my melty ice cream. The Savannah Buttermint had a soft, powdery flavor just like Buttermint, the Burnt Orange Dreamsicle was an elevated creamsicle, and the Sparkling Cherry Pie had a nice bright spice to it.

Yelp
Flavors are good but service was poor, at least the person helping us out. First time at Jeni's so we wanted to try many flavors - after the fourth one, asking for the fifth flavor to try, the girl made a negative facial expression, paused, and gave us the fifth flavor to try and promptly went to go help another party and continued to ignore us after that. So after a few more moments, we left. If you only are supposed to try a few flavors, then put a sign. I didn't see any limit on the # of flavors to try...

Yelp
Forget everything you thought you knew about ice cream - Jeni's is a whole new level of delicious! From the first lick, you know you're experiencing something special. The flavors are unique, inventive, and always perfectly balanced. I'm obsessed with their BRAMBLEBERRY CRISP, LEMON & BLUEBERRIES PARFAIT, LEMON BAR, COFFEE WITH CREAM & SUGAR and COOKIES IN CREAM!! The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful, happy to answer any questions you might have about the different flavors. They're true ice cream enthusiasts, and it shows in their passion for what they do. Jeni's is always a treat, whether it's a solo indulgence or a shared experience with friends. Every visit is a delightful reminder that simple pleasures can be extraordinary. If you're looking for the best ice cream in town, look no further than Jeni's!

Yelp
Busting location right off Broadway. Open late for those evening sugar cravings. Staff not overly friendly, and trying to quickly serve customers to move the long line along. Small seating area indoors and out, which was packed. We walked further down to a closed restaurant to eat our sweet treats. They had several ice cream flavors available with descriptions of each on display. I went with the "brown butter almond brittle" and "sweet cream biscuits and peach jam". My bad for choosing something really random, but both were really not good flavors. I'd give Jeni's another chance, but would try simpler flavors next time.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Worth the hype! Little ice cream shop, small line that moves fast. Tried two different flavors. The powered jelly donut (with chunks of donut) and the gooey butter cake. Both were out of this world. Lots of fun flavors to choose from.
google avatar

Wanda A.

Yelp
We had a voucher to get a free scoop or two of Jeni's ice cream. They had quite a few unique flavors and I ordered the common flavors and it was tasty. Overall everything was fine.
google avatar

Lynndel F.

Yelp
Jeni's Ice Cream offers three vegan flavors: Lemon Bar, Texas Sheet Cake, and a spicy option. My go-to choice is a cup of Lemon Bar and Texas Sheet Cake, which is a delicious combination of chocolate and lemon. The staff is always welcoming, greeting us with a smile and a hello as soon as we enter. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options available.
google avatar

Clarrisa N.

Yelp
A cute little ice cream shop with non-traditional flavors. They don't have a lot of seating so we just got them and took a walk. The flavors we tried were all great. Staff was friendly and patient as we taste tested new flavors. Kid sizes are available.
google avatar

Rudy G.

Yelp
Excellent surprise. Great ice cream great service and the ambience is spectacular. Heads up they have a few stores. Kids loved it.
google avatar

Haniah G.

Yelp
I stood in line for maybe 10-15 minutes, and it was definitely worth it. 10/10 would definitely recommend
google avatar

Mary W.

Yelp
Always a treat. The workers were friendly and expedient although it was a very busy Friday night. As always the ice cream was delicious. The shop was compact, but clean. Only two areas inside to sit and outside table were available.
google avatar

Camille C.

Yelp
Salty peanut butter with chocolate fleck & darkest chocolate in a waffle cup - yes please! Fun flavors, great service and welcoming location.
google avatar

Anatoli L.

Yelp
Somewhat limited number of ice cream flavors. I didn't really like brambleberry crisp, but wild berry lavender was tasty. Good service.
google avatar

Andrea O.

Yelp
Sweet cream biscuits & peach jam and brambleberry crisp are the way to go allll day! Don't expect'OMG' is you get chocolate and vanilla. They're basic flavors. Jenni's isn't basic ice cream. Go for Limited Flavors or something you can't get at a stand ice cream shop.
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
Tasty ice cream. I was expecting more choice of flavors I can't get in the store, but the flavors we had were great.
google avatar

Iman D.

Yelp
Always delicious with lots of unique ice cream and dairy free options. My only qualm is that they always seem understaffed and wait times always seem to exceed 15mins . On a plus side the staff is alwaysssss super friendly and engaging which keep me coming back
google avatar

Sarah D.

Yelp
Wonderful ice cream. The mint chip, coffee and lavender is to die for. Atmosphere is nice and so is the workers
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
There is something to the Jenis hype. The ice cream has some great standards, some flavors for the mildly adventuresome, and then some for people who want some exciting twists on seasonal flavors. I was in the area for two days and made sure I visited it twice. Portion size is perfect and the staff was very patient with the people who wanted to taste and take forever making a decision.
google avatar

Beth L.

Yelp
After lunch we decided we need ice cream! Jeni's is delicious . For me it's a little overpriced for the scoop you get; but it is what it is. The babies loved it and that's all that mattered. Seeing the smiles on their face. The line was out the door when we arrived but moved quickly. The staff was friendly and let us sample. I honestly like the fresh made waffle cones more than the ice cream. ‍
google avatar

Tee B.

Yelp
Immediately next door to S&H was this treat! There was a line out the door which to me is a good indication that their product is really good! Once we got the the counter you are offered to sample what you'd might like and we did. I went with the salty caramel and gooey butter cake! I'd eat the salty caramel over and over it was really good (4/5) as well as the gooey butter cake (3.5/5) the cake pieces were texturally different but it was good. Nice and clean ice cream and very cool on a hot Nashville evening! If you're near one treat yourself to a scoop or two!
google avatar

Penny Y.

Yelp
This ice cream is AMAZING!!! The waffle cone was so fresh and tasty!!! The brambleberry crisp and the brown butter almond brittle were my favorites! The scoops are a little small but the ice cream is the best!!!!
google avatar

Cole D.

Yelp
So creamy. Insane flavors. The peanut butter salted caramel with chocolate flecks is unreal. A must. I tasted the dark chocolate and that was really good. Wish I'd gotten it. The workers are super kind and friendly. Amazing employees.
google avatar

Andrew N.

Yelp
Pretty good ice cream to calm down my insides from Hattie B's. The smell of this place is immaculate as they make their own waffle cones and bowls. I ordered a standard size of wildberry lavender and sweet cream biscuits & peach jam ice cream ($7). The ice cream really hit the spot. My insides were burning after eating hot chicken, and this was pretty good. It was creamy, fresh, and flavorful. You could really taste the berry in the wildberry one, and the peach one had bits of biscuits that you could feel and taste as well. Mixed in with some peach jam, this wasn't too shabby. I guess for the price, it was more of an impulsive buy and not really worth it imo, but I'm glad that I got to stop by here on a long day.
google avatar

Jessica O.

Yelp
Really fun ice cream flavors! But a lot are fruit based. Wasn't like a huge amount of chocolate or peanut butter options. Typical has long lines too even if you go to one not off Broadway. Love the outdoor seating option, it's cute!
google avatar

Ellen K.

Yelp
A variety of yummy, unique flavors available in this small ice cream shop. Pints of ice cream are sold from the fridge as well. They do offer seating outdoors when the weather is nice but only a few tables are available indoors.
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
indeed splendid - make sure to get the waffle bowl After a hot chicken dinner, we needed to cool down. Heard from some peeps that this place was awesome so we made a stop. Got the waffle bowl with 3 scoops - lavender, brandied banana, and brambleberry. First off, the ice cream was super creamy and not too sweet. Really hit the spot. Lavendar flavor was okay, liked the banana, but I absolutely loved the brambleberry - it was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. Have never had anything like it. Def recommend the waffle bowl too - it is actually a little salty which balanced the ice cream perfectly. I loved breaking the bowl with my fingers and then dipping it into the icecream.
google avatar

Ciara J.

Yelp
This ice cream is so damn good! We opted for a waffle cone/bowl, which are made in house and super fresh. I had one scoop of Wildberry Lavender + another scoop of Gooey Butter Cake. My mom had the Gooey Butter Cake + the seasonal Boozy Eggnog (with Uncle Nearest whiskey). I am officially a fan. This place can be dangerous if you are an ice cream junky. I eat ice cream occasionally, but I am still thinking about this treat that I ate a few days ago...I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Phil Y.

Yelp
It was hot. The line was long. But, the ice cream was good. Service was very good. Even though the line was long, they let us sample their ice cream. They gave us a nice freezer bag when I told them I wasn't going to eat my ice cream right away. There are Jeni's that are closer to me. But, this one in Nashville probably will beat my local one in hospitality. Jeni's was a good place for us to stop at.
google avatar

Cheryl D.

Yelp
Writing this on behalf of my husband since he is the one who ate the ice cream. (I have a nut allergy and saw nut items on the menu and I typically steer clear of ice cream shops as they share the same scoopers. Not sure if they have a safe ice cream tub/scooper in the back since I didn't ask but I didn't see anything advertised). The line was out the door when we got there on a weeknight (end of February), but it moved pretty fast. When you got to the door area, you could smell the yummy waffles cones/bowls they were making. He got the Standard Scoop (up to 2 flavors) with the buttercream birthday cake and salty caramel. He described it as a super soft high quality ice cream. Flavors described as amazing, but the only downside was the price. He'd definitely get it again!

James B.

Yelp
Ok Jeni, you have gone and done it! I am an ice cream lover and have now found my ice cream heaven! The cute walk in shop on Broadway was quick and easy to get in and out. The staff is very friendly and eager to let us try your amazing ice cream treats. I never knew I needed Savanna Buttermint ice cream until now. And I will need it again tomorrow! I will be back!
google avatar

Jose M.

Yelp
Great choices! Picky children may not like all the different flavors. But we liked it!
google avatar

Richard V.

Yelp
Jeni's at 12:30 AM is the greatest thing ever thought of. Hands down the best ice cream i've ever had. Highly recommend if you haven't had it.
google avatar

Tray M.

Yelp
My wife and I went to this location after Kevin Harts show "Reality Check" to get some ice cream and let me tell you the long were long, but that's how you know the ice cream was going to be good and it was definitely good! Hands down will be back!
google avatar

Karen Y.

Yelp
Great ice cream!! Always busy but the line moves quickly. I love the smell when you open the door!!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Best ice cream ever! The peanut butter with Choc flakes is perfectly creamy and not too peanut buttery. Service needs some work... kids just do not have the same work ethic these days
google avatar

Tonya J.

Yelp
Delicious, outside the box flavors! The ooey gooey butter cake was out of this world. Do yourself a favor and just go ahead and get the waffle cone or bowl!!!
google avatar

Joey Z.

Yelp
This ice cream is awesome! If you stop in here, you have to try the bramble berry crisp. It was so delicious. The salted peanut butter with chocolate was also very good. It's also nice that they add a little waffle cone piece to top it all off at no extra charge. This is a great place to stop by when walking down broadway.
google avatar

Kieu-My N.

Yelp
If you've never been to Jeni's, it is a must! It's a chain around the US but only in some states. I've had it once before and saw there was one here and had to stop in. They have really unique flavors which makes them standout from other ice cream shops. I got the brambleberry crisp and the sweet cream biscuits & peach jam which was a great combo. Their ice cream is so creamy and their non-dairy flavors are also really good. Worth the wait!
google avatar

Samantha D.

Yelp
Amazing flavors- it was really hard to choose which ones we wanted. Service was good and I like that the cups of ice cream comes with a piece of waffle cone.
google avatar

Ernie H.

Yelp
Come here now before the rest of Nashville finds out how good this place is. I say that because the line was only 8 deep when I started. I always recommend the brown butter almond brittle and the brambleberry crisp. I discovered Jenis in Nashville 5 years ago at the farmers market. I thank the Gods when I saw them in Chicago and haven't stop loving them since. The lines in all Chicago locations don't go away either.
google avatar

Cheng Z.

Yelp
Their waffle cones were made fresh. They have creative flavors such as wild berry lavender. I love the cookies n cream flavor.
