Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams Sets Opening Date in San Diego - Eater San Diego

"A favorite among the ice cream-obsessed, Ohio-based chain Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is opening its inaugural San Diego scoop shop on Thursday, April 14 at the Beacon La Costa in Carlsbad; free scoops will be offered starting at 6 p.m. and the first 50 people in line will get extra Jeni’s swag. Founded by James Beard Award winner Jeni Britton Bauer, who’s written two books on ice cream making, the brand currently has 65 locations across the country. Though pints of its ultra-premium ice cream have been available locally at Whole Food Market, Ralphs, Gelson’s, and Valley Farms Market, the scoop shops will enable customers to try its limited-edition seasonal selections as well as bestsellers like Brambleberry Crisp, Gooey Butter Cake, and Salty Caramel. Newly-released spring releases include such as Powdered Jelly Donut, Lemon & Blueberries Parfait, and Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam. A rep for the Jeni’s tells Eater that the company currently has just two locations planned for the San Diego area. The second shop will be opening soon at 2871 University Avenue in North Park." - Candice Woo

Very creamy and smooth, super premium ice cream! Wide variety of creative flavors. Super delicious flavors include Brambleberry Crisp, Honey Vanilla Bean, Lemon Bar, Darkest Chocolate, and Coffee with Cream & Sugar! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff provides samples! Freshly made Buttercrisp Waffle Cones and Bowls! Limited seating inside and outside. Jeni’s founder, Jeni Britton, received the James Beard Award for her ice cream. Jeni’s makes ice cream completely from scratch, using Jeni’s original recipe of high-quality ingredients, including super fresh milk from family-run dairies, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

I finally got to try this place! The flavor profiles here are very complex and so yummy! They taste exactly like their descriptions and have such rich flavors. My favorite was the double dough! I also tried the goose tracks (wasn’t my favorite with the chocolate flakes). They have lots of different scoop options so you can try all the yummy flavors. They have pints available in the freezers as well. Definitely will be back to try more flavors!

Google
Great customer service! Great ice cream flavors! Great prices! While visiting San diego, we tried out jeni's It was a very friendly and inviting environment. They allowed taste testing and had patience while my bestie and I decided on flavors and how many scoops lol I got the cookie dough, Texas sheet cake, and lemon. The lemon and texas sheet cake were dairy free and amazing. The cookie dough one(I can't remember the name)was amazing it was cookie dough flavored ice cream with cookie dough bites in it. I don't know if they are the same, but I believe there's a location here in St. Louis and I can't wait to visit!

Google
We stop by this dessert place for the first time. The line moves quickly during a late dinner time. They offer to sample in a small metal spoon. We got a Harvest Moon (a seasonal item during Fall 2024), which is a 3-scoop in a waffle bowl. My partner likes it very much. I think it's a bit too sweet for my taste. On top of that the waffle is quite salty. I think it overpowers the ice cream. I'd recommend them to adjust the saltiness of the waffle. I will come by to check out other flavors. There's a small freezer along the line that have ice cream pints for sale. They're a few benches available inside & outside the store.

Google
Splendid ice cream at Jeni’s! Unique flavors and the best tasting waffle cone I’ve had in a long time, you can watch them be freshly made. We had one cone of Super moon and brambleberry crisp and one with milkiest chocolate and brown butter almond brittle. Delicious, recommend!

Google
Best icecream in the world. Top flavours: Gooey Buttercake Brown Butter Almond Brittle Brambleberry Crisp Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flakes The waffle cones are a must have!

Google
North park is hard to find parking but on a Sunday evening, there were plenty of spaces. I got the 3 scoops in a waffle bowl for $7.70 + $1.50 waffle. The waffles are made in house. It’s semi sweet and different than any other waffle cone I’ve had. My fiancé said it taste like fortune cookie. I disagree. It’s not as sweet and has a slight burnt bland taste. It worked out because it didn’t take away the ice cream flavor. We got Wild berry lavender, lemon bar, and Texas sheet cake. The flavors taste like it sounds. Wild berry lavender was explained to me as fruit loop flavor. It does have that sweet orange lavender taste. Lemon bar was the best I’ve ever had. Texas sheet cake was more of like a Dutch chocolate. This brand can also be found in local stores and they sell it pint size. We got the cold brew with coconut flavor ice cream in pint size for $12. You’re better off getting the 12 mini pack for $32. The flavors here are unique and you’re allowed to sample. My only complaint would be the small golf ball size ice cream scoop.

Google
Soooo good, fairly priced, lots of flavors, homemade with organic cream and fast service! Prior to coming here we waited in line at Stellas ice cream in North Park for 15 min only to be told they don't accept cash. Jeni's accepts cash. Definitely coming back. I had the birthday cake and it was ahhmazing!

Yelp
Oh my goodness, see this in Whole Foods all the time but finally got to try it at a store. Their ice cream flavors are so abundant and versatile. The Boisenberry one was a strong pie like berry flavor you could taste the crust. The peanut butter flake had strong Reese's vibes as well. They have some cute merch too.

Yelp
Jeni's gets full marks for adventurous flavors. They have all kinds of unexpected ingredients in their ice creams like rye, chili crisp, herbs, miso, and cheese, in addition to more expected additions like cookies and cake. And some of these flavors work surprisingly well in ice cream! But a fair number really don't. Since it's such a gamble, I'm pleased they're so willing to offer samples. And the flavors change frequently, so if you don't like what's on offer, come back next month to try some new options. Biggest hang-up for me is the price: scoops are very small (advertised as half sized), but priced like they're full sized. However, they sell packs of "cone coins" around various holidays. Basically they're gift cards for what works out to $2-3 for a single small scoop in a sugar or cake cone. And at that price, I'm willing to come a lot more often! Highly recommend the cone coins if you're interested in becoming a regular.

Yelp
I love walking into an ice cream shop and my senses just get overtaken by the smell of fresh waffle cones! I love Jeni's because they always gave a great seasonal offerings. During the fall they had a tasty Pumpkin Bay Leaf ice cream that I was completely obsessed with. And it wasn't just a whisper of Bay Leaf, I was able to taste the spice. Delicious. It was different. It's winter now and my favorite flavor is their peppermint ice cream. I'd definitely recommend grabbing a scoop while you can. The service is always great. Super friendly staff that'll always share their favorites. Sorry, I don't remember anything about their prices. I kind of let myself splurge on ice cream haha. It's worth it though!

Yelp
After dinner, I stumbled across this Ice Cream shop located in North Park. For my late night dessert, I enjoyed 3 scoops of ice cream. My favorite was the double dough. The service was outstanding and was very patient when I was sampling all the flavors. The ice cream shop was very clean and decorated very nicely. Definitely coming back and would highly recommend this if you're craving creamy ice cream.

Yelp
OMG i needed ice cream and was lucky to pass by Jeni's Ice Cream. We found a 15 min parking spot in front of the restaurant. I ordered two scoops of ice cream but I forgot the names. One was a gooey cake and the other a brown butter brittle. I sat in the car and inhaled my two delicious scoops of ice cream. I'm so glad I didn't leave because I walked back into the ice cream shop and the friendly and pleasant employee welcomed me back. I joked and said I didn't like the ice cream then ordered two additional scoops of the same one I just finished . I didn't get the employee's name but the time on my second ice cream photo was 2:00 PM. He was great and provided amazing customer service. There were so many flavors I couldn't decide but the ones I selected were so good I didn't bother trying any other flavors. Great spot for ice cream. I'll definitely return.

Yelp
No matter how busy it is here, I always always leave so happy about the ice cream. If anything, I wish I had an extra 3 stomachs to try more flavors! Servers are great and offer samples - and never make you feel bad about trying them. The flavors are bangin!!! Creative and fun for the food adventurous! But still options for those who like more conventional flavors. Not a lot of space to sit, so enjoy your ice cream while you walk around North Park. It always makes my NP food tour better!

Yelp
Natural ingredient and interesting flavor combinations. I had the OG Jenni consisting of darkest chocolate, brown butter brittle and bramberry crisp. Dad the ice cream aficionado had the Darkest chocolate and chocolate flakes which he thoroughly enjoyed! Didn't expect that from "regular joe"! Mom had darkest chocolate with 7 layer which she adored. Sadly we were so excited I didn't get a picture before we dove in! Needless to say we didn't talk much as we dove into the deliciousness!
google avatar

Yelp
Really cute decor and the tasting spoons were so cute! There are tons of unique flavors but it also made me want to taste a ton of them because the flavors felt very hit or miss. Their hits weren't my favorite but their holiday ones were delicious! We decided on these delicious flavors: White chocolate peppermint Gingerbread Coffee I didn't realize the two cases were ALMOST the same but they weren't quite and I would've wanted to try a few of the others!! Also they have a spot by the register for kids to get cute Jeni's stickers!
google avatar

Yelp
Time and time again I am beyond satisfied with the exciting flavor profiles and creaminess of this ice cream , or is it an ice dream ! I don't know but i'm in love with Jeni's . Fantastic customer service and cleanliness of the shop are highly satisfying .

Yelp
Came here for dessert for our friends birthday who loves ice cream. They have a good selection of flavors and the flavors are yummy. The seasonal flavors were so good! Our friend got "coffee w/ cream and sugar". It was delicious and he ate it all before we could even get to the register lol I got salty caramel and it was really good. Very nice flavor. But I will say it wasn't the best salted caramel I've had but it was still good nonetheless. My husband got gooey butter cake and bramble berry crumble and they were both so good. He loved them. We will definitely be back to try other flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
For a limited time only, you can top your ice cream with Fly by Jing chili crisp for free! Chili crisp on ice cream?!? Wait wait wait. Don't run away. I know how insane it sounds! But I'm the kind of guy who'd give anything a try. So here I am, risking my taste buds for humanity. I got a cup of their salted peanut butter with chocolate sprinkles (think Reese's) and Texas sheet cake (GF chocolate overload) and had the chili crisp on the side. First bite... Hmm salty, sweet and cold. Kinda crunchy too. Not spicy to me (I usually get 9-10 at Thai restaurants, for reference). This is really interesting!! Put another little dollop on my second bite and closed my eyes to absorb all the sensations. Still amazing. Before I knew it, I was putting chili crisp on every single bite! Friendly and efficient service. They also have an app to collect rewards if you're into that. A couple of small benches inside (seat about 4 people in total) and one outside (for 2 people).

Yelp
If you get a sweet tooth while strolling down University Avenue in North Park, pop on over to this ice cream shop that has a mixture of classic flavors and new ones that will tickle your mind and taste buds. I appreciate a place that offers free samples before you decide, especially when there are so many options. With that said, expect the line to take a while as some people will sample more than others. The scoops are half-size which is genius! I can either indulge in multiple flavors or satisfy a small urge for something sweet without feeling like I have to eat something massive or be wasteful.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
I love their ice cream it's really yummy what's confusing is the scoop Size like you can do two half scoops to try different flavors.. and I think you can get an extra half scoop to make it like a regular ice cream shops double scoop teach biscuit and brambleberry are my favorites
google avatar

Angie B.

Yelp
This is my new favorite ice cream place in San Diego! (Sorry Stella Jeans) Good assortment of staple flavors with fun seasonal flavors. Love that they let you try all the samples too. Staff is super friendly and enthusiastic. My favorite flavor here is the Texas sheet cake (bonus points that it's dairy free too!) Their waffle bowls/cones are good but the sugar cone is just as good and comes complimentary versus paying an upcharge. Don't think any ice cream shop will get 5 stars from me these days simply because of pricing. While I love all these shops, the price and value do not match in my opinion. I will say though, I will gladly give my money to Jeni's as they are a Certified B Corp and we love sustainability. They have a good rewards program here too which I always appreciate. Store inside has 2 benches and a bench outside but otherwise, not much seating area to hang out in. Parking is all street parking.

Yelp
THE DAIRY HEIR (UPDATE) 4.5 stars I came here when it first opened. Then came here many times afterwards (random days, random nights, day of and when the eye of Hurricane Hilary hit SD, I've been here countless times). Their rotating ice cream flavors (and permanent ones) keep me coming thru. Well, these two newest ones got me wanting to rave about them. I really love waffle cones but as of late been enjoying cake cones... it balances out the sweet, holds ice cream better, lighter, and I like how the melted parts at the bottom filter into these tiny compartments of the cone at the bottom... so when I shove the very bottom in my mouth I get "C's" (crunch, cold, creamy). PURPLE STAR BORN - Reminiscent of Concord grape and puckery-like black currents. Description says it would taste like intense juice. Indeed it did. yums! One of my favorites this far. I am a grape lover (love grape flavor anything and love eating grapes so this was a win/win for me. This was seeet and strong! HIGHLY RECOMMEND SUPER MOON - candid violet and marshmallows. The description says it would taste like cereal milk. This paired well with the Purple Star Born as the flavor was mellow and balanced the pallet of ice cream on my cone. Tasted more of the marshmallows but it was very very subtle and (although I do not like floral ice cream) this did have floral notes but honestly you really had to search for it and it is really mild at the end of the lick. RECOMMEND Either ice cream will pair well with a chocolate base ice cream too. This is my go-to ice cream shop in North Park!

Yelp
Jeni's makes so very good ice cream. It's a little pricey, but the quality of the ingredients and production of the ice is certainly there. I say for this case, look away and just indulge in the ice cream. I had a sugar cone with two scoops. The flavors I decided on were the Brown Butter Almond Brittle and the Coffee with Cream & Sugar. They were both great flavors. In fact, I loved the creaminess and great flavors of both flavors. Service was friendly, but I did expect it to be a little more upbeat. Also, there's limited seating inside and outside at this location. Great ice cream!
google avatar

Yelp
This was the second time going to Jeni's and I'm still amazed by how many flavors they have and how great the ice cream tastes! I got the Lemon Bar (vegan) in a waffle bowl and my girlfriend got the Double Dough. They both were amazing. Ice cream scoops are pretty small and the menu makes you think you get more than you actually receive. The standard is 2 small scoops for $7.25. Overall still an amazing ice cream shop to try!
google avatar

Rosy C.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in you're greeted with the smell of delicious waffle cones. The staff member was super friendly and took the time to explain the flavors (it wasn't crowded during the time I went in). Samples are available but I decided to just get the current favorites. Did not disappoint! Double Dough Brown Butter Almond Brittle Coffee with cream and sugar (mild flavor, I like my coffee ice cream to be bold and stand out) Waffle bowl
google avatar

Carolyn F.

Yelp
Quick stop after Pho nearby. This shop is a smaller version than the one in Charleston, SC but expect the same cool flavors.
google avatar

Casey C.

Yelp
I love that Jeni's ice cream has such a strong milk flavor! I got two half scoops of the gooey butter cake and lemon & blueberries (limited edition). Comes with a piece of waffle cone. I really liked the gooey butter cake for the richness. Lemon & blueberries had a strong lemon flavor (personally a little too sour for me but that is my own taste!) Visited on a Sunday night with a small line but nothing bad. They do samples. And they were able to scoop allergen scoops for me which was very nice! After tax it was $7.82 which I think is pretty in line with other specialty ice cream stores these days like Salt and Straw, Stella Jean, An's, etc. There's not a lot of sitting room inside so be prepared to stand outside to eat the ice cream. Not in a strong rush to return, but it was a great experience!
google avatar

Adriana A.

Yelp
The ice cream here is so rich & flavorful!! We tried quite a few samples & each one was amazing Brambleberry crisp - if a berry pie was turned into ice cream. Absolutely delicious Gooey butter cake - I understand the hype behind this one. It's so rich!! Brown butter almond brittle - I'll say it again, reminds me of butter pecan ice cream but BETTER
google avatar

Noriel O.

Yelp
I love coming here for my go to ice cream which is the Wildberry Lavender bc it reminds of the fruity pebbles push pop ice cream from when I was a kid. First when you come in here it smells so nice because of the waffle cones. The line moves relatively quick and they let you try a lot of the ice creams. I ordered the new flavors which were the lemon blueberry and strawberry buttermilk which were super delicious. The lemon blueberry had a good balance of sweet & tart and the strawberry buttermilk was super creamy. It reminded of Dreyer's strawberry but better. It's easy to spot the store especially at night since it's brightly lit, but parking isn't the easiest. You might have to drive around the block a couple of times. Weekdays are easier to find parking.
google avatar

Casey D.

Yelp
Jenis is always consistent! Happy there's a location in San Diego and the interior is so cute! It's my favorite Ice cream shop in SoCal. Not too sweet and great ice cream consistency. The workers also don't make you feel discouraged from sampling flavors. My favorites will always be the brambleberry crisp and wildberry lavender!! Can never go wrong with those flavors.
google avatar

Meralina M.

Yelp
The ice cream flavors here are so unique and they taste great! They have a perfect balance of flavors. The staff is also incredibly nice. When we asked if we could sample they said we could sample every type of we wanted, I thought that was so nice because as someone with anxiety, I'm scared to even ask for one sometimes lol. All the flavors we tried were great. The fluffernutter was great! A perfect end to a day around the neighborhood
google avatar

Liz L.

Yelp
Went in to buy gift cards. Left with two scoops of ice cream. Good customer service. Great flavor selection. Excellent ice cream!
google avatar

Kenneth V.

Yelp
I think the flavors offered here are unique! The honey vanilla bean and darkest chocolate flavors are good and rich. I came here on a Saturday night around 9:30, and there was still a small line and customers coming in and out. The store was clean and the decorations popped, I liked the atmosphere. I think this place is worth coming once in a while.
google avatar

Adrianna B.

Yelp
I never knew Jeni's had storefronts so I was super excited to try this! We waited about 40 minutes in line but my partner and I both think it was worth it to try. I got the Gooey Butter Cake, Coffee with Cream and Sugar, and Salted Caramel. Usually salted caramel is my favorite ice cream flavor, but I found the one from Jeni's to have such a light flavor that it almost tasted like nothing compared to the Coffee and Butter Cake ice creams. I'll definitely try to come back to try more flavors, hopefully with a shorter wait
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
The vibes are soooooo cute! When you walk in line they have a bunch of cute merch to buy from enamel pins, hats, shirts, little weekender bags! Loved! So many yummy flavors to choose from. What I loved is that the cards with the Ice Cream names also had the description of the ice cream cause I'm not trying to ask about every flavor because that's annoying. They were cooking fresh waffle cones and waffle bowls. There were only two employees when we got there around 8:30ish. It kinda got busy in my opinion for a small little shop. They do give samples if you ask. I got the Salty Caramel and Gooey Butter Cake ... when I tell you I would get a whole gallon of the Gooey Butter Cake it would be an absolute understatement. That was so good. I think I found my new favorite ice cream shop. My boyfriend got 3 scoops: Texas chocolate sheet cake, salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks and brown butter almond brittle. He said his favorite was the brown butter almond brittle. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Other than the long lines to get in I enjoy being able to sample so many flavors before making a final decision. Customer service is always pleasant and have no complaints. Sometimes the ice cream is a bit too sweet and I love the Buttercrisp waffle cones especially when they are fresh. I am a regular here and no complaints.

Haley C.

Yelp
Best ice cream in San Diego and the gentleman who helped me tonight gave the best service
google avatar

Sean H.

Yelp
Premium ice cream spot with quality takes on classic flavors. Compared to more "adventurous" ice cream shops, Jeni is keeping it safe and classic. I'd say each scoop tasted rich and quite sweet, I savored it! Not much room inside or outside to eat, unless you want to walk to the park. My favorite is the cookie batter, and super dark chocolate. Service was very patient!
google avatar

Chanelle L.

Yelp
My cousins and I were craving a good scoop of ice cream after a night out in South Park. This place was open late and we were so happy we came! I was surprised to see such a long line. Luckily there were 3 people helping to make the line go by a bit quickly. There is a fridge stocked with their seasonal flavors and limited flavors in pints that are available for purchase if you wanted to take one home with you. Ambiance was bright, clean, airy. I got a scoop of their lavender berry (I think). My cousins tried their cookie dough, strawberry, salted caramel. All were yummy!
google avatar

Alisa K.

Yelp
Popped in here for the first time the other day and it was great! Super welcoming service and delicious ice cream.
google avatar

Marina T.

Yelp
My new favorite ice cream shop in San Diego! Stopped by for nondairy options and my family and I loved the Texas Sheet Cake (German Chocolate Cake) and Lemon Bar flavors. The lemon bar was my favorite though, it was so creamy especially for a nondairy ice cream with chunks of lemon bars and what tasted like lemon curd and it wasn't too sweet like a lot of other popular ice cream shops. They also have so many creative non-vegan flavors. One of the best things about it is that the smallest size you can pay for still gives you 2 scoops of ice cream which is more than small shops like these usually give so that was really nice! Can't wait to come back
google avatar

Fernanda C.

Yelp
The service was amazing. The worker was so nice and let us try the ice creams that we were curious about. I got the salted Carmel and the coffee flavor. They were both so so so so good! The waffle cone jeans also very good. Highly recommend this ice cream shop.
google avatar

Axel C.

Yelp
Interesting flavors...extremely sweet though. First time here - very colorful welcoming environment. Had a scoop of the Dreamsicle and Double Chocolate - unfortunately it was way too sweet. I was done after 3 spoons but I ate it all cause it was pricey - almost $8 for 2 scoops. At least I can say I tried it.
google avatar

Yelp
Jeni's is so good! The Gooey Buttercake flavor is worth the trip alone. The staff wants you to sample as many flavors as you want to make sure you get the best ice cream for you. The shop itself has both a unique and classic feel. My wife and I sat inside on a bench and enjoyed our ice cream in the middle of a rain storm.
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
Not our usual spot for ice cream, and not even our usual spot for Jeni's, but this store was a great experience all around! There are so many amazing flavors, and it is kind of sad when they get rotated out of the inventory. Upon entry, it is your standard looking ice cream shop, where you can try a number of samples before settling on the sweetest part of your evening. This time I got the Gooey Butter Cake and Brown Butter Almond Brittle. These flavors are great, and so creative! There is even a tinge of savoriness that compliment the sweetness well! My friend got the famous Brambleberry Crisp, and as always it hits the spot! There is good reason why this flavor is a family favorite. This spot does not have many spots to sit inside, but the staff are very lovely!
google avatar

Edwin A.

Yelp
The line was out the door on a Wednesday night. They let us sample multiple flavors, and we ended up choosing Brambleberry, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, and a limited flavor, Tahini Oat. Flavor wise, it was good. Texture was nice and creamy. We'll go back again soon! Shoutout to Seneca for the great service! Give that lady a raise!
google avatar

Tran J.

Yelp
Super cute little store! Located in North Park. You can try whatever flavors you want on their cute sample spoons. You can get it by the scoops or a pint to take home. Cup, cone, whichever you want to go with! I got the standard where you can get up to two different flavors. I tried the Milkiest Chocolate (An ultra-lush milky chocolate, like a fine Swiss bar. Evaporated milk imparts concentrated milkiness and delightful chewiness.) and their Darkest Chocolate (Mouth-filling and palate-gripping with a pleasingly dry finish. Packed with Fair Trade cocoa and not much else.) on a waffle cone. The Milkiest Chocolate tastes velvety sweet but not overly sweet. Smooth, rich. The Darkest Chocolate tastes like semisweet and dark chocolate that punches you in the tongue that says yes this is chocolate and that is what you're going to get. The flavor of the ice creams is strong. The flavor lingers on with each lick or bite. It tastes almost clean if that makes any sense. Like high quality ingredients and love was put into it. The waffle cone was crispy and tastes like vanilla with butter and a hint of salt? A perfect pairing with the sweet and not too too sweet chocolate ice cream options that I picked out. Will be back to try more!

Yelp
The place is cool. The cones smell amazing from down the street. They had two dairy free options. I got the Texas sheet cake which was ok. My son got milk chocolate which he enjoyed. I liked that the give a little cone chip with the ice cream. I wasn't able to add a tip on my card which was a bummer.

Yelp
Decent ice cream here but I'm sorry $8.35 for two tiny scoops of ice cream? Ridiculous.

Yelp
Love all of the variety of flavors, not your ordinary 31 flavor joint. These hipster spots are super cute. I took my family here to get dessert and they did not disappoint. I love that they have prepackaged pints to go and they give as many samples as you like. There's so many different flavors to choose from. They offer the coolest merch too. It is a bit pricey for ice cream though. We spent about $35 for a pint, a standard that had 2 scoops and a signature with 3. The pint was $12. It was a sweet treat for all of us. They have a small bench inside and outside for seating convenience. But get there early, they do get packed. We'll definitely be back to try other flavors. They all were rich and delicious. Not to mention this place is cute for date night. It's in North Park. Plenty of places around to walk to and grab a drink after with friends or your loved one.

Yelp
By far my favorite ice cream shop! I'm always looking for exotic or different flavors and this place has it all. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
I've been to Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams 4 times now, the 1st was part of the Yelp event week, and I've been hooked since! This place is always crowded, regardless of the time of day. During my most recent visit, I came after 9pm on a week night and it was busy. I guess word got out just how incredible their ice cream is! It really is delicious, because I would typically not drive 30 minutes just for ice cream! My personal favorites are the wildberry lavender, lemon bar, lemon & berries parfait, and crumble berry crunch. All of the flavors are unique and yummy, so you really can't go wrong! If you can't decide, free samples are available, so just ask one of the super friendly staff! The only setback about this place is that it's very small, so there are no tables or chairs. Parking can be a challenge too, but I've always been able to find free parking along the street nearby. It's hot out, so treat yourself to a scoop or two, and don't forget the waffle cone! It has a hint of salt and complements the ice cream!

Yelp
Gooey Butter Cake ice cream is possibly one of my favorite flavors ever. It's too easy to take down a pint solo, so it's nice to have a storefront now where you can get a scoop instead. I usually don't stray from my fave, but Brambleberry Crisp is also quite good. And they'll offer free waffle chips to go when you buy pints, which I think is great. My only recommendation would be to check how long some pints have been sitting in the freezer. I got the Gooey Butter Cake, which was perfect. But I also I got Texas Sheet Cake, which I found had freezer burn once I got home. I don't know if it's harder to preserve that flavor because it's dairy-free or maybe it doesn't sell as fast, or neither, and was just an unfortunate incident. With this addition and the other ice cream spots so close along University, you could do your own ice cream crawl.

Yelp
I was going to wait to leave this review, Jeni's has become a Friday tradition for me. I don't think I missed a single Friday in the month of June & spend the week looking forward to my Jeni's treat! The one negative is their serving sizes are small when you compare them to the massive scoops at places like Handel's, but I still think Jeni's is heavenly! My favorite flavor recently has been their powered jelly donut- I think it might be limited edition. Jeni's does have some great flavors that have always been there- like the brambleberry crisp - YUM! Before we had Jeni's locally I ordered their pints for delivery, I've even sent them as gifts. I'm so excited to finally get them by the scoop in my neighborhood! I do suspect that I'll start just picking up a pint when I visit, once the novelty of trying multiple flavors wears off. It's more ice cream for your dollar and it means you get to enjoy the treat longer! Staff has always been friendly and surprisingly when I've visited it hasn't been too crowded. They don't have anywhere to sit and enjoy which probably helps with the crowd. Some tables would make it a better experience, but I'm just so happy to have Jeni's within walking distance so I can't give them less than 5 stars.

Yelp
I liked the ice cream but not the price. $7.70 for 3 small scoops. Stella Jean gives bigger scoops. Out of the 3 flavors we tried, I liked the salted caramel.

Yelp
Came here on national ice cream day and it was crazy, but as soon as I got up to the counter it was like I was the only person there. Ended up going for the three scoops in a waffle bowl and splitting it with my sister. We both were extremely satisfied! Our favourite flavor was the high five candy bar, surprisingly not too sweet and had a fabulous saltiness to it. We were surprised by the wonderful creamy texture of the texas sheet cake as dairy-free ice creams usually tend to be on the more icy side. I'd totally be back to try more flavors!
