I ordered the Ginger Ramen through Door Dash. The picture online showed chunks of grilled chicken breast. When it was received, it had shredded chicken. On first thought, I believed it to be an error so I reached out to the store directly. The man that answered the phone said that the photo online is from 5-6 years ago and they no longer prepare it with grilled chicken. My concerns were brushed off as if I just have to deal with it. I let him know that this was my first time ordering from them and I should be able to trust the online photo as a guide to purchase. I was completely disregarded and he ended the call with have a great day and we will see you next time. Are you serious? I can’t even trust your photos or dish descriptions. This was a horrible experience.

We went by before the lunch rush and were warmly greeted by the waiter. The Disco Dumplings and Chili Oil Edamame were both very good and were served very quickly. The Honey Chicken Bowl was good, but was made significantly better with a drizzle of the soy sauce from the Disco Dumplings dish. The Chili Oil Beef Ramen was lackluster, and was definitely closer to a pho than a ramen. The beef was tender but the broth was not overly flavorful and there wasnt much chili oil in the soup. It was a weird dish that seemed like it had a lot of potential to be a great ramen, but it needs work and thicker broth to be appropriately called a ramen

This place is simply fantastic. Wonderful flavor, great staff, and great prices!! It breaks my heart that many locations have been closed because their food is so good! One suggestion I have is that they need to be more on-the-go friendly, meaning, I cannot order their food to be eaten at work or any other place that doesn’t have bowls, microwave, etc. The Togo orders are sent in not the most user friendly containers. If they improved that I would be ordering several times a week! Just a suggestion. Love the restaurant and we will continue to support both locations!

Google
Always great food and service! Have been bringing my grand daughter there for their spring rolls since they first opened. Highly recommend it! UPDATE: Visited Sunday morning for their new hours offering a coffee bar. Since our diet is Vegan these days at 9am in the morning Scott the co-owner prepared my husband their Rockin Vegies dish. So delicious! Need to check it out!

Google
Sooo...the food was pretty good. My party and I enjoyed the food but the service left more to be desired. The staff lacked customer service skills especially with knowing how important it is to acknowledge their customers. Their attitude makes me want to never visit this establishment again. The food wasn’t THAT good, lol. Customer service is EVERYTHING in a business!!! UPDATE: 2 years later - went from a 2 ⭐️ to a 5 🌟 I was craving delicious Udon Noodles and my order did not disappoint. I placed a to go order of curry shrimp noodles and it was so yummy. However, the best part of my visit was the top notch customer service from Rogelio. He made my visit the positive experience it was because his acceptance of me as a black Latina woman (we spoke in Spanish). I usually get a negative experience when I speak to workers in establishments in Spanish because they can’t get past the color of my skin. However, Rogelio went with the flow and we both discovered that we are neighbors; he’s from Guatemala and I’m from Honduras. This was my third visit but the sweetest and best thus far because of him. Gracias Rogelio!

Google
The food was ice cold, and bobba was not good. Consulted a server about it and was told, "I'll ask," and he never came back to resolve my issue. The service was extremely lackluster, and prices are high compared to the quality of food you'll receive.

Google
Didn't get to eat here just pick up my online order and it was super fast ! They got everything right and the guy at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. The place has plenty to sit at and it's very clean. The food was delicious and would definitely come back.

Yelp
Super tasty tofu appetizer and great ramen. Fun drink menu. Even better since they have a fantastic dog area out back. We really like the service here. Feels like a great neighborhood gem. We have been here before and will certainly return.

Yelp
Love this place! Had to stop by before going back to LA. The Heights location has changed so much. Love the cozy coffee shop vibes in the front. Rogelio helped me out this afternoon. He was incredibly welcoming, charismatic, and informative and got my very specific order down! I'm sooo happy! The food is so delicious. My mom always gets the chili oil beef ramen. I personally love their vinaigrette and infernal chicken curry! Flavors have held up. Dreaming of when I can come back.

Yelp
Cool spot, first time here. I enjoyed the fried pork dumplings and the Thai lemongrass soup. The soup was very hot, which is great, could have been a bit spicier but also, the Heights. I'm curious to try other things that they have. The setting is cool, sort of like a restaurant and cafe vibe. It's counter service I believe, but I went during an odd part of the day. I'll definitely swing by again.

Yelp
The food is always delicious, the service is fast, the employees are incredibly kind (and patient with my two toddlers). Tons of seating options (inside, outside, booths, tables). Bathrooms are always spotless. There's even a yard with a concrete tube and balance beam where little balls of energy can explore and play before or after eating. We love this place. P.s. The egg rolls and udon noodles are picky toddler-approved.

Yelp
People are pleasant but food is not good. We ordered 4 dishes and coffee..none of them we like. We are not planning to go back again. Very disappointed.

Nicole L.

Yelp
Food was not worth the money at all. I really wanted to like this place. It just wasn't seasoned enough and the price was high

Corin G.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place the environment is great and the staff is so nice. However the food is bland. I thought maybe there was something wrong with me but after 4 tries I've come to terms the food is just not good.

Alexis P.

Yelp
Let me start saying that this is not the first time in Jennie's Noodle House. Their Sexy Salad with crispy tofu is one of favorites from a long time. Today I tried their soup and is super good and healthy. The staff in this location is really friendly and helpful (as a plus... he is bilingual!).

Madison B.

Yelp
I absolutely love their coffee and they have the best customer service. Everyone is so friendly and kind. They also have a great back patio for the pups!

Niki R.

Yelp
Amazing and consistent food with a great variety of options for all kinds of preferences including many vegan options. Service is always great and they are so nice to kids. Easy to accommodate large groups in this relaxed environment.

Michael C.

Yelp
I tried this place for the first time and loved it most definitely will be back! Service was great and vibe was pleasing

Misty A.

Yelp
You order at counter staff is super sweet. The inside is clean and very spacious. Disco dumplings are decent. Flavorful already in sauce. Not spicy they are good. Pho came out quickly. Flavor again was good. I think I will break it down like this ***** staff. ***** inside and cleanliness ***pricing *** flavor. The pho was missing something can't put my finger on it. It was good but not popping if that makes sense.

Laura E.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in Houston and I love this location. As a vegetarian, I am obsessed with the ginger tofu (sub fresh tofu). You can also add additional veggies based on what makes you happy. They have a great small outdoor area. The place is always clean and there is plenty of parking. It's great to eat there or take out.

Jaclyn C.

Yelp
This was our third time trying them in the last 6 months and none of them were good. We kept telling ourselves that something must be good here, and we were ordering badly. So this time I tried to order one of the popular dishes, ginger chicken over rice. No good. I ate the snow peas; tried to spruce it up with some soy sauce. Nothing saved it. I packed it away to turn it into fried rice another day. My partner has miso soup. It was not pleasing, and for the price of these dishes we could have gotten some pretty good food elsewhere. My toddler loved it all. He is more accustomed to bland food. Has it gone down hill? I remember it was better, even good, like ten years ago. I love the building. I love the cute and useful take out window. I love the hours. I want to like this place. But the food makes me depressed. And after this meal I got into a fight with my husband because it made us both so cranky.

Margaret B.

Yelp
$25 bucks for this! Truly dissatisfied. Rice is dry. Shrimp dry. Rolls dry and tasteless. Unfortunate. Will not be ordering here again.

Ruby D.

Yelp
Staff was very friendly and I like the chill-ness of the brand but that's pretty much all I liked about this place :( I'm all about pho post drinking... after a bachelorette weekend, pho is all I wanted. Not even gonna lie I only wandered over to Jenni's because the place next door is closed on Sundays and I thought hey let's try this place finally. I know they have a couple of locations here and there around town, they must be doing something right, right? I ordered an order of dumplings and the pho at the counter. The dumplings were "crispy" but sitting in this sauce concoction of soy sauce and wayYyYY too much vinegar, not my favorite. My pho came out shortly after and I fixed it up as per usual. It only comes with bean sprouts, some sliced jalapeño and a slice of dried up lime so I mean there wasn't much to do. This broth was the most unsatisfying thing to grace my mouth. Sadly!!! I love pho and I know jenni's isn't known for their pho but WOW the blandness. I did notice they have tons of vegan-able dishes though which is awesome!

David N.

Yelp
I've had Jenni's a few times now and all the times I've been have been because I've been invited by a Non-Asian person. Don't get me wrong but it's not authentic Asian food. The flavors are more bland. Overall, it is ok and safe asian food. I've had their ramen and it was decent. This location has a mural outside that has rotated over the years.

Amy N.

Yelp
I have been a customer at this location for more than a decade. I've always had certain favorites, not the best Vietnamese but close and pretty consistent for things like tofu or Udon Know Me. Fantastic and friendly staff. Super clean. Prices were always on the high side for the quality and quantity, convenience factored over that on most nights. Entrees are now $18.00!!!! Prices have gone up everywhere but they have outpriced themselves and the quality of there food. Can no longer justify paying these prices.

Kenn K.

Yelp
Jenni's has been a favorite for several years. I had the crispy veggie dumplings, ginger ramen, and a lime aide iced tea. Everything was top notch and prepared quick!

Tyler H.

Yelp
Review relates to a DoorDash order: Food came quickly and everything was in the bag. The way they package though was atrocious. Fried dumplings, fried tofu, and egg rolls were all in baggies. Not that I expect delivery food to be perfect but the way they were rolled up the steam from the heat just made everything soggy. The food was very bland in flavor. With so many options in the Houston area; I likely won't be trying this spot again.

Shelene L.

Yelp
This was my first experience at Jenni's Noodle House. It was ok but nothing made me want to return. Taste 2/5 - Ginger Snowpeas with chicken...could have really used more sauce. I found it quite dry. Limeade tasted "day old" as if the limes had begun to turn bad. I poured it out and got Coke. Quantity 4/5 - A solid lunch portion but way more rice than chicken and veggies. Service 5/5 - Very nice folks work here.

Seleny C.

Yelp
i went there saturday with my friends for my birthday the food was amazing and the customer service was amazing 10/10 would recommend.

Peter E.

Yelp
I wish I had read the reviews before buying. The miso ramen soup had NO flavor. They must have plopped the tinned mushroom and snow peas after the soup had been made, as they offered no addition to the flavor. The other dish was the chicken and peanut sauce. Lovely flavor. Very small portion for take away. Those eating in the restaurant had good portions. Chicken was hard, dry and flavorless. I would guess there is no chef doing the cooking. It would have been SO easy to freshly cook chicken properly before sending out. And total for both meals came to over $30 at lunchtime. Ridiculous. Save your money. As another reviewer says there are so many excellent restaurants in this town that one shouldn't have to put up with this dreck. I see this company isn't above buying reviews. The top reviewer lives in California and only has reviews for Seattle and Cali.

Yelp
I truly enjoyed this place. The staff is super friendly. They were very helpful in explaining the menu options. Roger was not only very patient and welcoming but also very attentive. I walked in there 30 minutes prior closing, and yet they were very helpful and attentive. Food was great! The boba is not the best, but he was able to work with me and help me in my experience.

Tanith A.

Yelp
First off, the guy working the counter is the kindest person and was so so sweet. I love the inside, and the low key music playing in the background. I got the infernal chicken curry which is more soup than curry, but it was perfect in the cold weather and so so so good. The teaser dumplings were amazing as well. The Thai tea was a little watery but still good, 5 stars for overall experience because it's my new favorite place to be alone

Kevin M. C.

Yelp
The food is terrific. Other reviews will tell you all about that. More importantly (to me), owner Jenni Tranweaver is an LGBTQ ally and advocate. And she doesn't just talk the talk - one entire side of the Heights' location's facade is the new Pride Wall HTX, a beautiful, vibrant rainbow-colored wall that reads 'Be Visible,' and is already serving as a rallying point and community landmark. More businesses, especially the restaurants that are so integral to the community, should do as Ms. Tranweaver has and find similar, meaningful ways to offer the community more than just excellent food. Bravo! 5-stars :)

Pierre H.

Yelp
Tried it via the grub hub app and went to pick it up. The PPP was all off. Smallest egg roll I've ever received and it was also one of the most expensive. To top it off it was not great. Got the super fried rice and it was not. And also very expensive. Just not a great experience over all.

CS S.

Yelp
The service and food has improved greatly. I know my last review was lower but the food taste much better less bland. Try the curry out.

Ben L.

Yelp
Fried rice was a "favorite" on the menu. It was bland and the chicken was tough. Really tasteless for a $20 dish.

Annie H.

Yelp
I might give them another shot.... but first impression; their vegan curry was so bland. It was also super thin, watery like a soup. It also had more of a "broth" flavor than curry. It even lacked color. Wasn't very creamy from coconut or anything like that either. Just bland and disappointing. The disco dumplings w/ vegetables was like all mushrooms. May as well call them mushroom dumplings. None of the mushrooms in any dish I ordered looked appetizing. They look like very cheap mushrooms. I give them points for trying to appeal to the vegan crowd but everything seemed like low quality ingredients and like maybe even not cooked in a clean environment. I got it Togo do who knows. Just super super disappointing.

Rena G.

Yelp
I like this place. It's quiet, simple and the food is bangin'. With this place being right down the street, I almost forget it's here. During my recent visit, the food hit the spot and the service was good. Since it was a bit chilly outside, I chose their classic pho to warm my bones, the bf had the Super Fried Rice and we ordered the Dream Rolls (spring rolls with tofu and shitake) and their Vietnamese egg rolls. Our food came out quickly and our grub was delicious. If you haven't been here, you should. It's a simple place to grab a bite, with less traffic than Pho Binh on White Oak. You order at the counter, and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. The service is fast and friendly, we've never had to wait long to get our order. Drinks are self serve. They also have a nice sized outdoor patio but not dog friendly fyi. Don't get me wrong, this place is good, they give you a decent portion of food for your money, but if you're looking for more of a traditional vietnamese place, I would stick to the Pho Saigons of the city. The prices are a bit inflated but only due to the area. Overall, it's a good place. Make sure to order some of their dumplings! You won't be disappointed.

M B.

Yelp
Wow, the reviews throw me. My food is on point every time. Shrimp spring rolls - lovely Eggrolll vermicelli - delish. Salt and pepper shrimp - omg good! My favorite thing, they quit putting TONS of noodles in vermicelli. That's filler food to me. Now the dish is in proportion. Love it. Nice balance of noodles and vegs.... And the male counter worker.... so wonderful. Attentive and wants to ensure the order is right every time!

Laura G.

Yelp
I had a disappointing flavor experience. I ordered to go: Udon No Me and a side of vegetables cooked with ginger. When I went to pick up the order, they had shrimp spring rolls out on the counter, and I was sucked in. The spring rolls: the shrimp were tiny, beyond room temperature and a bit mushy. The peanut sauce needed siracha to have any flavor. The side of vegetables: $6? They had a slight ginger of essence but no flavor at all. Udon No Me: Zero flavor. We loaded it with siracha, spicy mustard, anything we could think to help the flavor. For the price point, it is an expensive experience for little return for your tastebuds.

Jolene T.

Yelp
Kind of a staple in the neighborhood. Great for takeout or casual dinner. I love the Chili Beef Ramen.

Antonio H.

Yelp
Decent food at decent prices. Lacks some flavor but good clean eating and simple. My coworkers love the curry but I tried it and it didn't blow my mind. Shrugs.

Leena C.

Yelp
Should've known better.....and I hate to admit that I should have listened to my cousin when he told me no, no, no.... The two stars are for the decor, the staff and the cute little sriracha shirts. We ordered the disco pork dumplings crispy - blah. The dumplings were soooo crispy that it seemed to crumble everywhere :( My friend ordered the lemongrass beef and ate 4 bites and said one word - BLAND! He didn't even want to take it home but I forced him (I'm Asian after all) I ordered the infernal chicken curry and as it arrived, I didn't realize that I had ordered soup??? Curry is normally a little thicker - I mean in Thailand it is. I was just disappointed. Had hoped that it would be delicious esp after all the great reviews I read. Will prob not do a repeat....sorry :(

Jason D.

Yelp
I went here yesterday. I posted some pics. It's a nice place the staff was really nice and friendly. There was no wait and it was clean. Now, the food. I ordered the Infernal Chicken Curry. It was delicious. Now the bad part. As good as the curry was, there was only 4 nuggets of chicken and 4 pieces of potato, and a less than substantial amount of rice for the amount of curry in the plate/bowl/thing. I eat. It's what i do. I was still a little hungry. I would go again. I think it's a little pricey for what I got though.

Joshua L.

Yelp
Ordered the Scotty Steak Salad ($15) and a side of steamed shrimp ($9) on UberEats. The steak salad looked like a kids meal. About 6 chunks of beef and barely any lettuce/tomato. The steamed shrimp had 6 pieces and looked previously frozen. Bland food, small portions, way too expensive for what you get. Never again.

Cody J.

Yelp
The place is very open and modern. It seems that most of their business is to-go orders, though. We were the only ones eating inside. Everyone else was picking up to-go orders. The employee at the counter was helpful and friendly. We had the chili oil beef ramen and stir me crazy with pork. The chili oil beef was pretty good (like pho with chili oil) The stir me crazy was less than crazy. He didn't care for it, and neither did I. It wasn't awful, just a lil oily and bland. They have a lil bit of a unique flair with their signs and the cards in the front. Overall, pretty good.

Kandice M.

Yelp
first and foremost the spot was nice, open and clean. the waiter/employees were real nice and welcoming. the food however was *bland and overpriced. me and my dude started off with some appetizers; the shrimp spring rolls, good and clean tasting. the fried tofu, it paired nicely with the given jalapeño soy sauce and the teaser crispy pork dumplings, those were definitely worth getting in my opinion. we should've just stopped at the appetizers. the entrees were *ehh. my dude got the combo beef pho, which he seemed to enjoyed. just average pho in his words i got the wonton soup, to me, it lacked flavor and was packed with hella lettuce? the lack of flavor and lettuce in the soup definitely threw me off. 3/5 because the people were nice. the place was nice but the food was bland and overpriced.

Eesha V.

Yelp
Super expensive (15+) for a very basic meal (tofu on dry rice, rice isn't even fried or flavored). We had to add sauce to the rice. Plenty of vegetarian options though.

Michelle G.

Yelp
Good food and ok prices. People at the Heights location are very nice and polite thanks

Ron R.

Yelp
My first time ordering, but not the last. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The spring rolls are especially delicious. Cannot wait to try more of the menu.

Meghan L.

Yelp
I've had the art car curry (vegan with potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, basil, and tofu) here a couple times, and it's great! The ratio of tofu to veggies is a little off (LOTS of tofu), but I've still enjoyed it. I've eaten in the restaurant once and had takeout once, and I was surprised to see a $0.60 "to go" fee. I thought it'd be to cover the cost of quality takeout containers, but it ended up just being styrofoam. I hadn't seen this before and thought it was a little strange/petty. I looked this up and see that some other restaurants have a takeout fee, as well, but it's very new to me. Nevertheless, great place!

Liz J.

Yelp
We ordered takeout and we shared the Infernal Chicken curry with an extra side of jasmine rice. While my husband enjoyed the spice, it was way too spicy for me, should have asked for a one star. The curry came with 4 small chicken pieces and 4 prices of finger sized potatoes. Super spicy, flavorful. Not worth $12, not even close with the amount of chicken pieces. We did enjoy their disco dumplings. So that brings me to two stars.

Regan A.

Yelp
Nice quite place went on a Tuesday lunch hour not many people. The food was good not tasteless and some reviews I've read. Well at least my dish wasn't tasteless. I'm sure I will come back if I'm in this side of town. Thumbs up

Stephanie R.

Yelp
I was craving soup today and one of my coworkers said that we should go to Jenni's Noodle House... Big mistake. I got the MamaTran Spicy Shrimp... it was $12 for broth with okra, shrimp and pineapple. It was bland even after adding the hot sauce, salt and soy sauce (I asked for raw fish sauce, but they didn't understand what I was saying). This place is VERY americanized and does not have traditional asian flavors. I would not recommend this to anyone. On the positive note, the staff was very nice and friendly... but I will not be returning.
