The Best Bakeries in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"This Southwest Dakota bakery is perhaps best known for its bolos — the lightly sweet, springy, Portuguese answer to an English muffin — the foundation of breakfast sandwiches at places like Either/Or. But on the weekends, visitors can pop by the bakery for things like French onion soup bialys, passionfruit cruffins, and pumpkin pie turnovers. The shop is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays for walk-up service." - Michelle Lopez

I made a trip out to Portland, around a visit to Jen's Pastries, after seeing a delicious dessert on IG. It was SO well worth it! Not only were all the pastries amazing, but the team was absolutely incredible! Shout out to Jackie for making it such a special stop for me and my husband. We tried a couple of items from each section of the menu, and every single one was a hit. The flavors are so creative and balanced. I also have to say that I am proud to be a customer of a business that stands its ground on social justice issues! Keep doing what ya'll are doing, and I hope I can plan another trip in the future. Thanks team!!

Google
Jen’s is my favorite bakery in Portland. Their baked goods are consistently delicious and there is always something creative and new to try, which as someone who goes nearly weekly makes it a new and fun experience every time! The staff is so sweet, have great recommendations and get you your pastries so fast! My favorite things are their savory croissants and their cake slices, as well as their bolos! But everything is delicious, I can’t recommend enough.

Google
Simply divine!!! We live 1.5hrs away but make the drive because it’s that good! We have never had something we didn’t like, which is saying something. The staff are always friendly and the obvious care and compassion for humanity make Jens a home run. Run don’t walk!

Google
I went on a rainy day but not so shockingly, there was still a line for their delicious treats. They had everything from sweet to savory. Very creative offerings as well. I had a Thai Tea Cruffin, Asiago and Caramelized Onion Croissant, Mexican Corn Croissant, and the Honey Orange Peach cake. All were perfectly balanced and made with care. They also offer simple things like ham and cheese croissants or plain items if you’re not as adventurous. If you like supporting a local business doing good for the community, I highly recommend Jen’s Pastries.

Google
Have actually been here several times plus ordered custom cakes and love the unique and rotating offerings and local flavors. They also will sporadically do baked good fundraisers for human rights causes. Getting a crowd of bigots sent after you for sticking up for the rights of immigrants should in no way affect someone's Google reviews, but here we are. You go Jen and team! The people with true respect for humans will keep coming back.

I was so excited to try this place after a food blogger raved about it. I got there at 9am (time of opening) and there was already a line of people. You do not come inside since the place is too small. You wait outside, order outside and wait for your order outside too I ordered a lot since I wanted to try many items and see if I should come back: 1. I ordered 4 different croissants: roasted pumpkin, almond, raspberry and crufdin. All were 4 out of 10. The worst was pumpkin (I love pumpkin so ordered anything that has pumpkin) and goat cheese one. You can tell it was made a while back, super dry, tasteless pumpkin filling seating on top of the croissant layers. Almond one has an ok paste inside but the outer shell is super dry. The freshest one was the cream cheese croissant. 2. I ordered 3 different donuts: lemon raspberry, chocolate Earl grey, and pumpkin one. Again, pumpkin is the worst. It's quite doughy and tasteless. Lemon raspberry being the best. Earl grey one I ate a tiny piece but I wouldn't order again. Overall donuts are 5 out of 10. 3. I ordered 2 different cookies: lemon Earl grey and strawberry and creme. All cookies are ok and remind me more of rae cake dough. I would say 3 out of 10. 4. I got 2 different cakes: white chocolate pistachio and honey raspberry lavender. Pistachio one is sickly sweet and the best item was honey lavender cake. Cakes I tried 7 out of 10. My whole family tried it with me and no one at the end said they want to go back. My impression is that anything that is suppose to have taste is tasteless and oversweetn. Disappointed. I really hoped it will be a good one.

Every weekend I eagerly wait for the menu to be posted and then head across town to stand in line for these amazing treats. I’m a cake lover but my family loves the cookies, pie and biscuits.

Google
I have been following this place on instagram and finally got to try it! We got there a little after 9 on a Sunday and there was barely a line. We got 2 slices of cake, s’mores cup, blueberry muffin, and a day old box of savory pastries for about 40$. Even for being from yesterday the savory pastries were so good, especially the French onion pop tart! Everything tasted amazing and can’t wait to go back and try more!

Yelp
I like to sleep in on the weekends so it means a lot to say that I'll get out of bed early to be in line at Jens at 9am on a Saturday morning. PNW residents love their carbs so don't be surprised if there's a line when you get there. I went on a Sunday around 9am once and they had a sign that said they sold out the day before. Jen's serves deliciousness in a box. Prices are pricey but the quality!! Top tier. If I ever see Jen's pastries at local coffee shops (which I so often do) I pick one up. My goal is to try every one of her creations because they're just so good.

Yelp
Hopefully this review can be received as constructive feedback and not an attack because that's what it is. We had a sub-par experience ordering a cake for our wedding from Jen's and this stemmed from poor communication. I had heard good things about this bakery and they could make a large cake, so I put in a request order form. At least a week went by with no reply and on the website it said "No invoice No cake" So I was eager to hear back. Finally I emailed to ask if they got the form, and to see if we could switch the filling we chose to fresh strawberries. She got back to me then saying that yes they could do that. I said great but then didn't hear back until 2 days later about how to pay. Skip ahead to wedding day, I get the box to see that they had not changed the filling like agreed. And frankly lackluster flowers stuck on there which I ended up removing (thats subjective but compared to the many other photos I had seen I thought ours looked a bit sad like Safeway flowers) The cake was just fine, but it was the low point of the day for me because it had not come with the right filling which was disappointing. I understand it's a smaller operation but I just wish I had not emailed after not being contacted and gone with my gut to go somewhere with better communication.

Yelp
Ordered a cake from Jen's pastries for a celebration and was not disappointed in the least! The online form was easy to use and I got word back quickly with recommendations about size as well as the price. It was suuuper easy to pay online and then woosh, time to pick up the cake! We went with one of their popular cakes listed on their site -- poppyseed with passionfruit curd and mango buttercream. What an absolute delight; the cake was delicious without being too heavy or too sweet and the passionfruit and mango were both amazing. Aesthetically it was a BEAUTIFUL cake as well. Would absolutely get more cakes from this place in the future with a good bit of planning ahead for this already happening in my head. My husband also could not resist himself wen he went to get the cake so he also grabbed a maple oat scone, caramel maple croissant, and a poppyseed muffin and these were also INCREDIBLE. The croissant was lifechanging imo and I would eat it again in a heartbeat. Honestly, this spot is an absolute gem and the people are so kind. Could not recommend Jen's pastries enough!

Yelp
Great little pastry shop, but you have to order outside as I thought you could go in as I had never been there before... lol. The service is very kind and they're very helpful and tell you everything about every pastry they make fresh there and you can see the making there right in front of you behind the window. Which is great because then you know it's fresh obviously and local. There's so much to choose from at the window, especially looking at the menu. You don't know what you want so it's best that you take a few things unless you're there for one, but I had to grab four when I only came for one originally. The person that was helping me inform me about a lot of the food there so I can make a decision easier even though it was kind of difficult because I wanted it all. For savory, the egg pesto was a great choice, but everything is good.

Yelp
The pastries are very good. Would recommend going to the many local cafes though that stock her items as the wait isn't worth it when there is availability elsewhere. Line was wrapped half way around parking lot perimeter when we got in it and took about 1.5hrs, we got there about 15min after opening. Advantage of course with going to this location (weekends only) is better variety and when we got up there still had a decent selection to choose some (some items were sold out). Was also Mothers day weekend we went so doubt that helped the line situation. No real spots to eat while there but if a nice day can walk nearby or eat in the parking lot like we did.

Yelp
Jen's has recently gone retail and is open on Saturday and Sunday. If you go to several high end restaurants in pdx and wonder "how do they do pastries so well" - the answer is Jen's. She has a small operation in John's landing. You wait in line-it is very low tech, but the food is worth the wait. Many different pastries, pie slices and cake slices. Going to a bakery is a rare indulgence. Jen's is at the top of the list.

Yelp
My sister ordered a cake from Jen's for her micro wedding. I was asked to pick it up and due to miscommunication on MY end, the cake wasn't ready when I got there. It actually worked out well because I explained to Ariel that I wasn't sure my sister gave any instructions for decorations (oops ) She said she would make it pretty and when I came back in an hour, it was pretty! So sweet and whimsical. My sister was happy! It was vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberry jam and it was delicious. We had multiple desserts at the reception restaurant but this cake was by far the best one. My finance and I also got some pastries made by Jen's from a coffee shop down the street while we waited for the cake and those were so tasty! I had an orange cardamom cruffin and he had a savory one. We're definitely going to go back on a weekend to try more

Yelp
We can on a Sunday morning expecting a large line. Showed up right at 8:53 and were first in line which was nice. The woman we spoke to was really nice and gave us some tips since it was our first time. It's fun seeing the bakers inside working while you're ordering with the menu on the outside a simple decor. We got the maple bar, vanilla bean pie, lemon earl grey cookie, Oreo cake, and jalapeño cheddar scone. In order I would rank: 1. Vanilla bean pie: the crust was a little bit tough but the filling and frosting ball on top was amazing. The custard gave a condensed milk sensation that just lingered on the tongue and roof of the mouth. 2. The lemon earl grey cookie was delicious. It had some bits of floral toppings on top which I thought would be overpowering as I also don't really like floral tastes but it was mild and added a bit of texture. The earl grey flavor comes through really nicely with a hint of lemon. The cookie itself held together well too. 3. The maple bar was different than what I was use to but I did appreciate the lasting flavor of the bar even though it wasn't too sweet. For a vegan bar, was pleasantly surprised and also the square cut was very satisfying in my opinion. 4. The pop tart was good but was so stacked at first. After I learned to compress it to get the frosting and filling all together it was pretty good. 5. The Oreo cake was good but didn't stand out too much for me. Wished the cake was a bit more moist and maybe some more creme to balance out the semi-sweet chocolate cake. 6. Cheddar jalapeño scone was good but needed more of both flavors. Overall a great visit and definitely wanna come back to try some of the other items.

Yelp
Make sure you show up before 9am for Jen's Pastries, we got there a little after 9 and waited in line for 30 minutes. We can't wait to visit again and get more pastries, you can tell the staff is working really hard to get orders out quickly it just takes a minute. We will definitely be ordering the Ham and Cheese croissant and the Pumpkin Coffee Cake Muffin again!!!

Yelp
With weekly specials based on what's in season, and a plethora of "usual suspects" baked with so much love, there is always a reason to visit Jen's Pastries when they open to the public on Saturday mornings, 9am-1pm. I discovered this local bakery on Instagram, the pictures of their laminated pastries, decadent cakes, beautifully decorated cookies, pies, tarts, muffins and cookies had me running, well, driving, over to SW Portland to check it out. Oh, and they make fresh pop-tarts!!! True to the Instagram pics, the bakery counter is a feast for your eyes. every single items so carefully crafted, baked and decorated. It is hard to decide! Plus they have savory breakfast sandwiches, my fave, and weekly brunch options. Don't worry about choosing, just pic up a few - eat, enjoy - come back next weekend, repeat. A few of my faves are the morning bun, always a warm, buttery, comforting choice. The sausage and egg breakfast sandwich on a soft bolo roll, so filling and satisfying. And the twice baked almond croissants, buttery and flaky with the perfect amount of almond cream. Since this is a local shop, they truly need support of other locals and visitors alike. Especially right now with the combo of slow January and a one two punch of snow and ice storms. Since today was safe enough to drive, I headed over and picked up some warm and comforting morning buns, coffee knots, and cheddar jalapeño scones to share with my neighbors, who were all delighted. Jen's Pastries is a wholesale shop but they are open via their walk up window for retail sales on Saturdays from 9am - 1pm. Because word has spread, there is a line, especially on a nice day, but it moves fast. They sometimes open again on Sunday. For the most accurate hours, go to their Instagram page, not Yelp.

Yelp
Such a good variety of pastries, delicious and some unique flavors! Bottom right is strawberry matcha

Yelp
Just everything about this place is awesome the only compliant is I wish the prices were a little lower and it was open during the week! But I get it's a small operation and the time and care that goes into the pastries really shows. Pop tart was especially divine.

Yelp
We got the honeycomb cake they sell at Zupan's for our wedding cake! It was so freaking delicious and beautiful! We just used it as a cutting cake and then fed everyone else a different dessert. But man this cake was so good.

Yelp
This is a local treasure. Pastries are amazing remind me of France butter they use and lamination is amazing. Be warned it's first come first serve and the good stuff goes fast.

Yelp
This is a legit bakery and stressful in a funny sort of way. The bakery is only open on the weekends from 9-1 and you definitely want to get there way before 9am. There is always a line - which is a sign that this place is the bees knees. The reason why it's a good stressful is that as each person places as order, they cross off what is sold out. They only make a certain number of items per day so if you come later in the morning/afternoon - it is more than likely that what you wanted to order is now sold out. This isn't a bad thing, totally understandable as they offer such a wide and diverse hand made menu there is no way to predict what sells or not. I got there at 10:30 and waited about 35 minutes before ordering. It was a sunny clear morning so I didn't mind the wait. I purchased the berry pop tart, apple butter scone, coconut custard pie and the strawberry marshmallow pie. Each item was 100/10. There is no way you won't LOVE LOVE LOVE anything you eat here. I want to go back and try everything on the ever changing menu.

Yelp
I've been trying to make it to Jen's for a long time but with a toddler in tow it can be hard to endure long lines. We lucked out on a Sunday during a lull and found ourselves in the area with only a small line! Everything we tried was wonderful, however the vegan shortbread bar (pictured top right) was life changing. I am not vegan, I probably would not had ordered it if I realized it was vegan, but boy am I glad I did. It was an explosion of flavors and buttery-tasting deliciousness I didn't know existed. I'd wait in line, screaming toddler in arms, just for another one of these shortbread things.

Yelp
WOW, is this place good! I went for the first time last weekend on a Sunday arriving at 9 am and I walked away at 10.15 am. I went again yesterday on a Saturday getting there at 8.30 am and was first in line (it was also bad weather). I caretake for my dad who doesn't have the biggest appetite and he got straight giddy with how good these are. I think it's going to become a regular thing I do for him. So far his favorite thing has been the berry "pop tart" and mine has been the chive cream cheese and everything pop tart. You need to check their Instagram where they post the daily menu to plan your order and get there early because they sell out before 1!

Yelp
I'd like to start off by saying we have been absolutely blown away by Jen's Pastries every single time we have gotten something. The first time we got pastries I will say I went entirely overboard but NONE went to waste. After drooling over Jen's Pastries on IG for months we decided to head down there. We got up early & made it to around 8:30 am. There were already people in line & after trying the pastries I understand why. Jen's opens at 9 am but an incredibly friendly employee came out a bit early to take orders, which was so nice. By 9:15 am we were on our way with our beautiful and ultra delicious goodies. We walked away that morning with two of the savory breakfast pastries (a sausage roll & Reuben croissant). Both were OUTSTANDING!!! My partner devoured the sausage roll and I actually squealed with joy biting into that Reuben croissant. On both, the pastry was cooked to perfection and the meats were juicy & flavorful. I talk about that Reuben croissant at least once a week still. We also got a s'mores cruffin which I believe was a special that weekend. The pastry was perfection (yet again) and the chocolate ganache and marshmallow topping were what dreams are made of. The entire cruffin was a textural heaven with the crispy pastry, velvety ganache and soft yet toasted marshmallow. Because I just can't ever decide on a couple things we tried a slice of Mississippi mud pie and cherry streusel. I have NEVER had a pie as good as this Mississippi mud pie. The chocolate was SO flavorful, the crust was the perfect crunchy & soft combo, and again the marshmallow topping was toasted but still so ooooey and goooooey on the top. The cherry streusel pie was tart and sweet with the best crumbly topping and the crust was sheer perfection. After our outstanding experience the first time I knew immediately I had to order a custom cake. Ordering the cake was a breeze! Communication was SO quick and efficient. I went wild with my custom order and got a banana cake with espresso buttercream and chocolate ganache with toffee. I was hesitant with the flavors but they were kind enough to let me know (I asked for their opinion) it would taste fantastic. They were 1000000% right. We DEVOURED this cake. The banana cake alone was perfection so this combo made this the best cake I have ever had. The buttercream was smooth and delicious with notes of espresso that didn't overwhelm the other flavors. The chocolate ganache was velvety & had the richest chocolate flavor. The banana cake was moist and flavorful. If I could envision my perfect banana cake this would be it. All that being said... Jen's Pastries is the fuckin best. In my opinion, every line waited in and every penny spent was ENTIRELY worth it. I'll recommend Jens until the day I die ;D

Yelp
It was my first time here this past weekend although I've been following them on Instagram for a long time. I'm so glad I finally made it out! The cake slices I got were all delicious. Not too sweet. Cake was moist and had good flavor! The cruffin was beautiful and also so light. I definitely plan to return and would like to order a whole cake for a special celebration!
google avatar

Yelp
After the owner went out of her way to antagonize me for sharing my experience with her business, which admittedly was critical, but honest...I think when the topic of pastry comes up, this will be the only business in Portland that I tell friends to avoid. This seems to be a pattern with her on any review that is critical. If you want a 5 star review from me, you need to provide a 5 star product and experience. I stand by my opinion that the desserts I tried were mediocre.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
This bakery is Ok, it's not as community focused as it could be like serving Northfresh coffee which is literally on the same block and phenomenal. Also, the prices are quite high for what I consider the value of the cake slices and croissants to be. The cake tends to have a more dry texture. I do love the cookies and scones but those always run out quickly.
google avatar

Sophia L.

Yelp
My favorite bakery in Portland. They're in SW Portland and open on Saturdays. You can find their pastries on other days all over cafes in Portland. They have a fixed and rotating menu based on what's in season so there's always something new to try. They have savory and sweet pastries as well as cookies and cakes. There are vegan options too. Jen's is excellent weekend treat. Would highly recommend going on a Saturday morning and trying a few pastries! Some favorites: - brownie pop tart - berry pop tart - dark chocolate cake with blood orange - broccoli and cheese quiche Support local businesses!

Yelp
I love Jen's soooo much!!!! My absolute favorite bakery in Portland. I would go here every Saturday if I lived near by. I drive from camas because the desserts are top notch and just incredible. I'm just such a fan of the thought out ingredients, gorgeous execution and handmade love that's put into each dessert! Please support these guys because they deserve it Also Jen's if you're reading this, please please please open up a shop near the camas Costco! They're building brand new shop centers ( lacamas tech center ) where people would die to have your treats! I'm just shooting for you to have another location haha. We need more bakers like you! At least let me know where the closest cafe is that you supply with your desserts

Yelp
I found Jen's on IG and headed over to Yelp to check it out. I know there aren't very many reviews here BUT trust me....You want to try this place!! The hours listed on Yelp aren't accurate so look on IG because the shop posts the hours they will be open each week. The reason this is important is that we won't today and got there 10 minutes after they opened. 10 minutes! And the line was wrapped around the parking lot. The menu changes each week but there are seasonal favorites that carry over week to week. They stay open until they run out. Today I really wanted to try the ham & cheese croissant but before we got to order they ran out. Whomp. Whomp. They have lots of variety from cake slices to cookies to savory items. I have to say everything I have tried so far was baked with love and to perfection. Such layering of flavors. As I was walking back to the car, I had a thought of being in NYC and indulging one of their amazing baking shops. Such a Portland gem!! Thank you, Jen!

Yelp
I've never had such a wide variety of pastries that were all so magnificent in their own unique ways. Some places are really great at one thing and then they buttress their menu with other choices which are fine but don't get the same attention as their "crown jewel" item, this IS NOT the situation at Jen's. Everything is in the running for the best (insert pastry name of your choosing here). The passion of the chef comes through in the food every time.
google avatar

Anam K.

Yelp
I had heard about Jen's Pastries through a friend and started following the account on Instagram. I finally gave it a try a while back and was so happy that the pictures/presentation matched the pastries! I loved all the flavor combinations and just the love that gets put into each pastry. As an amateur (very) small dessert business owner I know the amount of blood, sweat, and tears goes into this and it's clear that this team really cares about the product they put out and also making sure that the customer is happy! I just ordered my birthday cake from Jen as well and am soooo excited that they include pistachio options (looooove pistachio and never see it as a pastry or cake option).

Yelp
Wow wow wow. Jen's Pastries are too good! They sell wholesale weekdays but are open to public on Saturdays, and as of recently they are open on Sundays as well! I've gone a few times and there has never been more than 1-2 customers in line ahead of me. I think i've just been lucky with my timing because I know they tend to have long lines! Everything is done outside, so they have their menu posted on the building, and there's an employee standing out there ready to put in your order and accept payments. They have a couple tables and chairs if you want to stay and enjoy your pastries there as well. They have a HUGE menu. Lots of cakes, pies, sweet pastries, savory pastries, and vegan options as well. There's a couple classic staples, you know like cinnamon rolls or croissants, etc. but they have ton of interesting unique options as well. They change their pastries every week so you'll never get bored of what they have to offer! The morning we went we got there a little late so there was a lot that was already sold out. But we snagged a twice baked almond croissant, peppered bacon & maple croissant, and a lemon poppy seed scone. Every pastry was amazing, the croissants in particular were my favorite. I even really enjoyed the scone (which was vegan by the way)! They sometimes offer cold brew that's made locally I can't remember where though. I haven't been here during the winter yet so i'm not sure if they offer hot coffee then. Jen's is definitely one of our top favorite pastry places here in the PDX area. Please do yourself a favor and try them out if you haven't already, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Jen made a very fair point and I apologize for the harsh words. It was a very honest and direct review based on my point of view. I had high expectations based on the raved reviews. I was super excited to try but was very disappointed. When you make something for a diverse group of people, there will be some who don't like it. What I find "not special" is clearly treasured by tons of people as evident by the long line. My words certainly don't make your products any less. Likewise, what I find special may (aka likely) not be preferred by many. Everyone has their preferences, which are influenced by what they have tasted and experienced. My preference is french style pastries with light and delicate base layers. The flavor profiles for her savory pastries are quite good, but the base of the pastries didn't meet my expectations. My preferences for sweets are also different than most people. I love desserts but I like them barely sweetened, with balanced flavors. Nothing overdone or overly flavored. Desserts in most shops are too sweet for my taste buds. When everything is overwhelmingly sweet, no other flavors can came through. With the pricing, I was very surprised to find that everything was even sweeter than most places. Like I said, tons of people love her pastries so most people will probably like it. However, if your preferences are anything similar to mine and want to try Jen's, try her savory pastries. Those are quite popular and seem to sell out quickly.

Yelp
This bakery is absolutely amazing! They really have something for everyone -- sweet, savory, vegan, cake, pastries, cookies, the list goes on. I first came to learn about Jen's on social media and through trying her yummy confections at local coffee shops that serve them. I was ecstatic to learn she had a brick and mortar that is open on Saturdays in John's Landing. My favorites are her ginger cookie, savory breakfast croissants -- really any croissant -- and her cinnamon rolls. But, to be fair, I haven't tried everything on the menu. Definitely swing by on a Saturday morning (get there early -- there is usually a line) and try out this fantastic local bakery.

Yelp
I have been picking up Jen's pastries on Saturdays when I can over the past couple of years and I am only disappointed when I have t gotten up early enough to get first pick and miss out on some of my favorites. Her cakes are delicious and always have unique flavor combinations (the early grey chocolate is stunning). Love the pastries, morning bun is my fav but the pop tarts are so tasty. Her savories are delicious too, Portuguese sausage roll is so good and the others are so good if I pick one of them up it never makes it home. Don't miss out on the cookies, the chocolate chunk and earl grey cookie are both worth grabbing too !

rachael e.

Yelp
I have purchased two custom cakes from Jen's Pastries. This will be my go to bakery for custom cakes for family celebrations from now on - both times the cakes have been beautiful, moist, and had the perfect level of sweetness. The cakes have been fresh and ready at the pre-arranged pick-up time and the staff is a pleasure to interact with. I have also picked up weekend goodies a few times -- I haven't gone often enough to choose favorites among the weekend offerings, but everything I've tried has been delicious.

Yelp
I got a morning bun, quiche, ham croissant, and Bundt cake. All were delicious. No service inside the business, all orders taken at an outside table. Private parking lot as well as street parking.

Yelp
This may have been one of the best pastries I've ever had eaten. Well, multiple pastries! I had the savory pop tart, jalapeño cheddar scone and an earl grey lemon cookie. Seriously, it was all amazing. Plus, they are nice. Go there you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I LOVE JENS! Ive been a patron for years now and if I had the ability to go every time they're open, I would. These pastries are heavenly and the people are so kind. Ive never once had a bad experience or a bad pastry from Jens and the food is definitely worth the price. My whole family loves Jens and are sooo excited when I come home with a goodie box. Drooling just thinking about the berry pop-tarts and pesto danishes! Additionally, as an immunosuppressed healthcare worker it really means a-lot to me that the staff are still masked

Yelp
Love Jen's Pastries!! Been going (when i can) for a long time and the quality is top notch and consistent! Wonderfully delicious and creative spins on a lot of classic favorites, always fresh, friendly, and fairly priced. love supporting a women owned business that values employees it is wild to see reviews on here docking stars bc you subjectively didnt love the taste/qualities of the various different pastries? docking stars bc of a malfunctioning ordering app they have no control over and didnt authorize? or a third party website listing incorrect business hours???? wow- get a grip, get a life, youre not a food & wine magazine critic lmao this is a damn yelp review :) stop unfairly lambasting amazing small businesses before all we have left are mcdonalds on every corner :/

Yelp
Pop tarts are so amazing! I mean everything is, cheddar jalapeño scone, cookies, cakes, etc! I wish they were open everyday, but also appreciate that I have to wait to get it every week (and yes I could go to one of the shops they stock at). The staff is super nice, heck even the people waiting in line are nice. Very positive experience every time. Love that we have such a great establishment in our neighborhood!

Yelp
I discovered Jen's pastries on instagram and had to go try it. I went there when they first opened and got a piece of cake, a croissant and a hand pie and they were all delicious! They have an extremely extensive menu with lots of goodies to choose from. The service was great, quick and easy! I will definitely be back for some more sweet treats

Yelp
My husband and I bought a pre-order box and it was delicious. I was a little afraid because it was bakers choice and I'm super picky BUT we loved everything inside. We would happily purchase baked goods from them again.

Yelp
Where do I even begin. Jen's Pastries isn't your normal pastry spot. No no no. This, this place is art. This place is a MASTERPIECE. I would travel thru the eyes of Sauron to get here. I would leave Hogwarts and join Voldemort on his quest if it meant he would feed me this deliciousness. Let's start from the very beginning. My experience here started so great when I was treated by the most precious bakers assistant: Jackie. She is the most sweetest nicest assistant to the baker I have ever met. She made my experience so great from the very beginning! Once I got my food I could tell I was going to be in food heaven. And I was not disappointed. Everything from the Mississippi Mud Pie to the chive and everything pop tart was OUTSTANDING!!!! Definitely going to be coming back. Thanks Jens Pastries!

Yelp
We stopped by Jen's on a Saturday morning for pastries after ogling their Instagram page. We got a sampling from their menu - morning bun, blueberry jam scone, savory sweet potato pastry, an apple Pop-Tart, and a few other things. My favorite was the scone. I don't love scones - they're usually dry but this was perfect and the jam was really flavorful. The morning bun had a sugar coating that was pretty tasty. The price point is a little higher than your average bakery but the quality is really good. I'd say the only downside is they are only open a couple days a week so I have to wait till the weekend to get my fix! If you like baked goods, definitely check them out!

Yelp
The pastries are works of art and the cookies are dense and delicious. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
OMG. They best bakery ever! Only open on Saturday and I will willingly wait in line for my double baked chocolate walnut coffee croissant. The pastries are original and sooo fresh. Get there when she opens to make sure you get your favorite.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! Incredibly delicious super flaky laminated pastries with great flavor combinations, both sweet and savory! We tried an assortment of breakfast treats today but we will definitely be back to sample more! As of this review they open up for retail sales at their cute little walk up window on Saturdays. We are already super fans!

Yelp
Literally everything here is extremely delicious and pretty. I've tried a variety of things and I would say they have the best pies, croissants, scones, AND cakes in town--which is quite the assertion since this is a foodie town. Be sure to get here early, they do sell out of things quickly.

Yelp
The food is spectacular and the people are even better. Wished they were open 24/7!! We orders custom cakes and pick up pastries often.

Yelp
The BEST pastries, muffins and cakes! Saturday mornings at Jen's are a tradition in our household. Don't sleep on the pop tarts. We also love the ham and cheese croissants, cinnamon rolls and all the muffins.

Yelp
Some of the best desserts in Portland, always looking forward to the weekends to try the new and classic pastries!

Yelp
Bad customer service. Canceled my pre order and too good to go order I spent all day looking forward to. Unfortunately good food paired with poor service isn't for me. Second or third poor interaction with the owner
