My friend and I had a very memorable meal here. We ordered the #5 Dried Pollock Bean Sprout Soup and #6 Seafood and Soft Bean Curd Stew. The food was delicious, comforting, and fresh, but what truly stood out was the hospitality of the owner, Sharon. She went above and beyond to create one of the most welcoming dining experiences I've ever had, walking us through the entire menu, offering extra sides and snacks on the house, and making every customer feel like family. When we tried to leave a generous tip in gratitude, she immediately refused, explaining that it was the day before Thanksgiving. Her kindness wasn't reserved for us - she had done the same for the other two customers in the restaurant too. I rarely write reviews, but Sharon's warmth and care, along with the excellent food, deserve recognition. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

The food is delicious, and the owner of the restaurant is super cute and kind. She will explain to you the menu. If you don't know a detail about a dish or how to eat it, she will also explain it to you. The place is also clean and calm, so you can have a nice time there :)

Jeonju Hyundaiok is a great spot that serves quite tasty comforting Korean food! They are most famous for their bean sprout soups, which I've been told is a wonderful dish to cure a hangover! I'll say this tho, it was very delicious and i can see it helping if i had too much fun the night before. Along with my soup, I also got kimchijeon(kimchi pancake) and a galbi lunch box. I'm always a sucker for lunch boxes due to the wide assortment of flavors it presents. If you ever want delicious authentic Korean cuisine, this is the place for you.

We bought the bugolgi that comes with rice and soup. It was delicious. The owner gives excellent service.

This franchise is widespread in South Korea known for their delicious bean sprout soups packed with nutrients! In South Korea they have 150 locations but only one in the heart of Koreatown Sharon and her team use the Toryeom traditional Korean cooking method by layering and continuously mixing ingredients. This was my first time here and Sharon took the time to explain the menu to me and what they offer, I can't wait to come back again and try new dishes. This is our second time to come here while visiting family in LA. Thoroughly enjoyed it just as much as the first time. We both had some stomach discomfort from over eating the day prior and knew this would be comfort food and good for our tummy. We've never been to jeonju but have heard about their famous bean sprout soups and so glad I get to have it here in the US! It's delicious and soothing as comfort food should be . And the presentation is so beautiful !

I think I'm in love, not only great service but everything was so good!!!!! Parking can get little tight but street is not to crowded. Inside is really clean. Cold noodles shook me how big it was and is was sooooo good. Recommend to share it with others. Number two combo was great and such a comfort to eat! Galbi was tender and not too sweet!

I frequent Korean spots in Buena Park and have tried some popular spots around LA as well. This is the best Korean food I've had. 11/10 recommend the Spicy Cold Noodles and Galbi. Life changing. The only thing that did not exceed my expectations was the Bibimbap. The ingredients tasted fresh but the sauce makes or breaks the dish, and I didn't find their Bibimbap sauce to be anything special. Service was also quick and the servers were all very kind. Definitely worth the visit!

Known for its bean sprout soup, Jeonju HyundaiOk creates nourishing, comforting bowls commonly found in Jeonju that have a lot of health benefits. I've heard people say that it can be good for hangovers, which I can see why, or if want something warm and good for the soul. The #1 is the most popular which is Nambu market-style and served at room temperature compared to the other hot-boiled style soups which were more comforting and one that I personally liked more. Regardless, they're worth trying and it comes with rice so it's a balanced and filling dish. The waitress was kind enough to show us how it's prepared since it was new for us. She put some of the squid in a small bowl and poured the rest into the large bowl. She then took the egg, mixed it in with some bean sprouts and tore small pieces of seaweed before serving it in front of us. I was in love with the bibimbap. The rice was perfectly crunchy at the bottom and we dumped all of the gochujang sauce in to get as much flavor as possibe. The kimchi pancake was just alright and I wouldn't order it again but it's a good sharing dish. We went on a Saturday night and there was almost no one inside but there's plenty of seating. There's valet parking but also street parking if you're lucky.

Upon entrance, we were immediately taken to a table and we were asked if we wanted warm water since it was a cold rainy day. I ordered the sprout soup with kalbi and my husband got the stir fried squid with rice. The waitress was nice and checked to see if we knew how to eat the sprout soup and the egg that comes with it. The sprout soup was very flavorful and had a spicy kick to it. The stir fried squid had a fire taste and for some reason reminded me of champong lol it was actually delicious! We had left overs and we asked to take our leftovers and there was $1 fee for the containers. Parking is valet and very limited. I got lucky and found street parking on Saturday at 5 pm.

Hangover cure... Overall, just like the interior, the soup is so clean tasting! Love the egg in the soup along with all the side dishes! Rhetorical radish kimchi is especially too good!

I got to try their Signature Bean Sprouts Soup. I like how refreshing and light the flavors were. It also feels nourishing and I can imagine this would be a great cure for hangovers. Also ordered their Seafood and Soft Bean Curd Soup it came sizzling hot and so satisfying to mix the egg in the soup. I love the variety of seafood in the dish, they even have mussels and shrimp which are my faves! The broth was really flavorful and really hits the spot. Our last but definitely not the least order were their Galbi Lunch Box. I love the variety of the side dishes and the presentation of the box and the taste was even better. This spot will make you feel at home, I like how comforting everything was.

Came here on a rainy day with my husband who LOVES BEAN SPROUTS. I saw an influencer mention about this place and I had to take the husband here to try it out. Their menu is small but it has a lot of flavor. We ordered the first combo with pork bulgogi and a side of seafood pancake. The pancake was huge ~10 in diameter packed with octopus, chives and other goodies. The waitresses were so sweet and somehow they knew it was our first time so they actually showed us how to eat their soup. The waitress demonstrated what to do and how the flavors changes when you add more things into the soup. One thing we didn't know about that they offered us was more bean sprouts for our soup which was already blanched when they brought it out. I loved their kimchi and the pickled radish it paired soooo well with the pancake and the pork. We will definitely be back. It's a super cozy place with quick and attentive staff.

I went to their old location on Wilshire a few years ago and remember thinking that the soup was so delicious. I visited their new location here a few times and I'm relieved that it tastes the same as back then. The owner is so sweet and kind. I always see her engaging with the customers and being hands on with running the restaurant. All of the staff are very emotionally intelligent because they are very attentive to every table's needs. I usually order #1 but the last time I came a friend ordered #3 so I ordered a #3 this time. Both are so yummy and this is definitely a meal that tastes like a warm hug. I also like that they play hymnals in the background so it adds to the peaceful ambiance of the meal.

Great place for a quick easy lunch! Filling clear broth soup and a super big cold noodles portion size. Food came fast, tasted clean and fresh, and prices were great. No frills type of cooking which is part of the allure for me.

I feel like this kind of bean sprout soup is as Korean as you can get haha. From its name, it's Jeonju style eating which is nearly impossible to find anywhere else in the states. I've been to Jeonju a few times and it has some of the best Korean foods I've tasted, so I love this place already. The #1 is what I always get and it's very onion/garlic heavy but it's absolutely perfect. One bowl is $16. It comes with the side of egg, squid and seaweed. You're supposed to mix up some squid into the egg and break up seaweed and mix it in and eat it with the soup. And the extra squid pieces u throw into the soup. Sooo delicious and perfect for a chilly day. Parking sucks here so just be prepared to park on the street which is very easy to find, or get stuck in a tiny lot with tiny stalls.

We got the combo c1 with the Nambu market style bean sprouts it soup + kalbi and cold seoritae black soybean noodles to share. The soup reminded me of the one I had in Jeonju years ago - lighter but still a hearty and satisfying taste. We got a pretty generous portion of kalbi, which was one of the best I've had at a non-bbq focused restaurant. The seoritae soybean was a coarser ground than some other restaurants and they add peanut for a nuttier flavor. Despite usually preferring a smoother soup, I thought their version of it was really tasty! They also cooked the buckwheat noodles to just the right chewiness. Pls note that it comes out pretty bland so you need to add salt. Really good food, will definitely be back! *Nambu market vs hot boiled clear soup* I was told that the main difference was that with the Nambu style you get a soft boiled egg and squid in a less hot soup. Primarily because you want to spoon some of the soup into the egg and you don't want it to be too hot. Be sure to add the accompanying seaweed for extra flavor and soybeans from your soup for extra texture!

I placed an order from this restaurant. When I came to pick up I found out that they were charging me extra for to-go. Wish they would have told me when I called. Little unhappy to find out their policy. The waitress also wanted tip even though it's to go order so I gave her $3. Adding tips to carry on order started during COVID to help out waitresses if I remember correctly. Demanding tips or encouraging tips from restaurant on a carry on food makes me unhappy. Food was ok.

located in koreatown la and has the classic Korean eats but their specialty is a warm and savory bean sprout soup. It was my first time trying it and The broth was so peppery and full of flavor. It's mixed in with a runny egg, tons of bean sprouts, peices of tender octopus and topped off with some crispy seeweed. You just have to try it out for yourself!

weekday dinner visit and valet parking only...finding tables plenty...few korean locals dining/drinking...picture of yellow bean sprouts displayed on the wall...bean sprout soups available for $16.99 or make it a combo with korean bbq , but prices starting at $27.99 to $34.99...trying the spicy pork soup $19.99...provided 4 sides...napa cabage and raddish kimchi...spicy bean sprout mix and another vegetable side...patiently waiting and hot boiling stone pot delivered...loaded with fresh green onion on top...soup is hot, so eat slowly...loaded with bean sprouts...some pork slices in the hot soup...the sides are decent and soup is decent...the prices seem a little steep for soup...$25 after tax and tip...validating parking and still having to pay another $3 parking fee...paying almost $30 for bowl of soup seems really steep...

Bean sprout rice soup, which you eat the next morning after drinking, is a food that reminds you of more drink again. It is much cleaner than meat soup. I think it would be good to enjoy a warm day here on a winter morning.

The restaurant was very welcoming and the kind lady helped us decide what would be best on the menu for us. we got a nice selection of kimchi and other starter toppings that were pleasing. the hot soup dish I got was spicy and rich in flavor, it's very hot in temperature so be aware. We also got the bibimbap bowl which was a very good dish and I recommend. Since the toppings are mostly cold and the rice is hot it becomes kind of room temperature food. I prefer my food hot so might recommend getting it in the hot stone bowl altogether it was a pleasant experience and left me tummy full as I can be. *Side note (the egg on the bibimbap is raw so if you want it cooked make sure to request that)

Really enjoyed the bean sprout soup here. I would recommend if you like the broth to have more flavor then order the broth that has seafood in it or just want a light comforting broth then the original is just fine. The kimchi pancake I wished was a little crispier. Overall I definitely will come back to try more items and have the bean sprout soup again!

Todays service was horrible. Waitress was almost rude. Almost left but I was hungry lol. Then she asked me if I could move to a counter as people were waiting and I was seated at a table for 4. Guess what I said?? Their soup is delicious but I do see they decreased their amount of beansorouts in the soup . $18 for bean sprout soup is pricey but would have been better with good service .

Best bean sprout soup I ever had. Excellent soup to kill the hangover and remove any toxin in my body. Besides the benefit to my body the soup taste good. Clean, healthy, delicious, and inexpensive are reasons I keep coming back over and over. This is legendary soup recipe from Junju city in South Korea that produces best food in the region. Don't miss the best.

Food was great. Hearty. Be sure to ask for the spicy pickled peppers + onions. Perfect compliment to the soup. We both got the #4 spicy pork and we both cleaned our bowls. Enjoyed it so much I to-goed one for my husband. He also throughly enjoyed it as well. Free parking in the lot.

The pictures on the menu were mouthwatering, but when the dishes arrived, they looked nothing like what was advertised. The picture was kalbi and beansprout souo combo but it was just bulgogi- The portion size appeared smaller, and the presentation was far less appealing. It's disheartening when your expectations are set by an enticing image, only to be let down when the real food arrives.Overall, the taste was good, but the high prices and the deceptive presentation took away from the overall experience. I hope the restaurant working on accurately representing their dishes in the future.

So they relocated from a massive space down Wilshire to a more size appropriate spot. It's still very clean and spacious inside. We LOVE coming here and do pretty often lately. I've tried all three different types of the soup, and can't say that I can tell a huge difference between the three. I like them all. My husband has tried the non-soup items and so far everything has been a hit. Just note that parking lot can get packed and the spaces tight.

THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM. The spicy bean sprout soup ( , #2) is literally OUT of this world amazing and the Imyunsoo () fish is AMAZING (such goodness)!! (#4) was also so good. If you're craving ramen but you want a healthier alternative, THIS place is the place to go. Both of these options are amazing hangover soup options!! I WILL BE BACK.

I had the spicy bean sprout soup with port bulgogi combo. This was so good! I grew up eating my grandmother's bean sprout soup and this tasted like my childhood. Protip: ask for shrimp paste and extra bean sprouts on the side. If you are craving Korean bean sprout soup, this the place to go.

Can't believe I didn't review this. So my love for KongNaMUl GukBap (bean sprout soup rice) sprouts from a restaurant in Korea that I randomly ran into after clubbing all night in Hong Dae and walking to Shinchon area through a residential area. It was super early morning but place already had a lot of customers. I had KongNaMul GukBap before and after but never as good as the bowl that I ate in that morning, whether in Korea or LA or Jeonju (where this dish is famous for). Years later, and after many failed attempts, I saw this restaurant and wanted to give it a try, in hope of remembering my tasty past and this place comes very close to my delicious recollection from my memory bank from distant past. I've wanted to try the pollock soup which was good but KongNaMul GukBap just blew it away. I'll be back and definitely visit it's braches in JeonJu when I go to Korea.

Jeonju Hyundaiok Korean Restaurant has finally opened as of today! The restaurant replaces Keungama Tofu House, which was a hole in the wall restaurant that you could have easily missed it. However, you will notice this new restaurant. It is beautiful. The menu is strictly in Korean and I cannot read Korean. There's no English menu as of yet, which is an issue because I have no clue what's on the menu other than the pictures. Luckily, my sister knows how to read Korean, so she helped me out. So there's the traditional dishes like tofu soup and stews, guksu (noodles), and bibimbap. I ordered the latter and it was aitte, I've had better. I do hope the Jeonju team reads this review and helps a brotha out with an English menu. It would be very helpful for those who want to come here and try a new restaurant in K-Town . . .

Never go here. Seriously disgusting. I found roach in the soup. How bad is your sanitation that you have roach cooked in your food. Seriously disgusting

really good, simple, and clean bean sprout soup. total soul food and reminiscent of Korean home cooking. there are red peppers in the soup that adds to the flavor and subtle flavor that doesn't overpower or make the soup spicy. according to their menu, they also have a spicy version. great alternative to Korean beef soups when you want something extra clean and without any grease. the octopus is very fresh and cooked perfectly. chewy, not rubbery. the regular soup has octopus in it but not much, so an extra side order of octopus is recommended. 4 types of banchan provided is really fresh and good as well. they have outdoor covered seating and observe COVID-19 precautions. will definitely be coming back and trying the other dishes. if the quality carries through on the other dishes as I suspect, it's sure not to disappoint.

BOMB KOREAN SOUPS! I came here to satisfy my husband's soon tofu craving. He has been asking me for about 4 days to go grab some soon do boo (I know it's not spelled right thanks teach!). Very unassuming and not the cleanest, but definitely made up by the incredible service and speed. We actually DIDNT end up with tofu soup, but opted last minute for SPICY BEAN SPROUT SOUP. It was hearty and filling and satisfied his craving. Win for Korean soups!!!!

The Good: It's definitely the best gukbap (rice in soup) restaurant in Ktown. Everything is clean, well prepared, and delicious. The service is nice and quick, and the restaurant is spacious. The menu also includes a variety of traditional Korean dishes that's on par with their specialities. The Bad: It's a bit pricey, but it's worth. Try: any of their speciality bean sprout soup. I'm partial to the spicy pork soup and the soondaeguk. Don't Try: taking it to-go or getting it delivered. It's more expensive (additional $1 charge for to-go orders), and trust me, it tastes a lot better eating it there.
