"Jester King Brewery is known for its uniquely fermented beers, and it launched a line of THC-infused sparkling water with Tejas Tonics that slaps. The on-site restaurant has cheesy wood-fired pizzas and savory burgers, which come with beer pairing suggestions, of course. Keep an eye out for the roaming cats and say hello to the goats and the bunny. The brewery also offers tours, if you want to get deep into the beer scene. Find all this magic inside a building that’s part Central Texas river rock and part tin. The tasting room evokes of a 16th-century ale house, with sides that are open to the elements and picnic tables large enough to accommodate hanging out for several rounds of beer with a group." - Erin Russell
"The Hill Country brewery’s evolution from a beer nerd paradise to an all-around gathering spot appears to be complete. Once solely focused on farmhouse and wild beers, the brewery now offers several “clean” beer selections in the lager and pilsner categories, alongside curated picks of wines and ciders. The kitchen side still has the usual selection of pizzas and baked goods, and the weekend-only food truck offers bar fare like burgers and fries. There are also walking trails and quite a few goats and other animals on the property. Takeout orders can be placed online. [Disclosure: Eater contributor Tom Thornton is an investor in Jester King.]" - Erin Russell
"A brewery with expansive grounds ideal for drinking hoppy and fermented beverages; the property also features farm animals, including goats and a bunny, making it a distinctive countryside drinking destination." - Courtney E. Smith
"Located on the grounds of a giant farmhouse, Jester King has more than 60 draft options, and pretty much all of them are great for sipping while you watch your corgi run wild on the grass. The spritzy sours this brewery specializes in in are perfect for a hot day, while the dark ales get the job done when it (finally) cools down. Definitely get one of their pizzas before hunger strikes, because orders quickly pile up on busy weekend afternoons. You’ll also want to buy a ticket to tour the goat pen to say hello to their adorable bleating friends." - nicolai mccrary, anne cruz
"Close to Dripping Springs, on a massive plot of land, Jester King has made a name for itself by brewing spontaneously fermented beers with wild yeast. So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the pizza program here follows the same philosophy. Most of the ingredients are locally foraged or farmed—expect to find lots of seasonal, regional vegetables and herbs—and the dough is fermented with yeast from the surrounding area. As for the pizza itself, expect a soft, floppy center and a chewy, blistered crust that could hold its own against the best Neapolitan joints in town. It’s worth making the drive for the beers and the scenery alone, but the pizzas just sweeten the deal." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion
