The 11 Best Brunch Restaurants in Fort Lauderdale and Broward County | Eater Miami

"Yes, there’s a restaurant at Fort Lauderdale’s Executive Airport, and yes, non-jetsetters can go anytime and watch the planes swirl by. It’s open daily for breakfast and lunch, with a “brunch favorites” menu boasting a crab cake hash, chicken, and waffle, and towering totchos topped with bacon and sausage."

Cute place with the added entertainment of getting to see planes take off and land. It gets pretty busy on the weekends and they don't let you make a reservation. We were able to make it first thing when they opened after a prior unsuccessful attempt. My cappuccino was great and came with the sugar stick. We were one of the first guests so thankfully not much of a wait for anything. The meals all came out warm and the food was good.

Jet Runway Cafe is an absolute gem, especially for those who love a classic breakfast experience. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the aroma of fresh coffee and sizzling breakfast dishes. The menu features all the beloved breakfast classics like fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon, eggs just the way you like them. Each dish is made with care, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in serving high-quality, flavorful food. One of the cafe's standout features is its unique location. The large windows offer an incredible view of the jet runway, allowing you to watch planes take off and land while you enjoy your meal. It's an experience that adds a sense of excitement to your breakfast whether you're an aviation enthusiast or just love a good view while you dine. But what really sets Jets Runway Cafe apart is the service. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and attentive, ensuring that your experience is nothing short of perfect. If you're looking for a place that offers great food, a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, and excellent service, Jets Runway Cafe is the place to be.

Google
This is definitely a cool restaurant that serves breakfast and brunch classics, sandwiches, burgers, and even main plates with the view of jet planes taking off and landing while you enjoy your meal. All the food we ordered came out fresh and very flavorful. Staff is friendly and our server Cassidy was very nice and attentive. But be aware that dining area is a bit small so most times there is a wait to get a table and reservations aren’t allowed.

Google
What a pleasant surprise, cute restaurant tucked right off the runway of the airport. The staff were very nice, quick and friendly. I didnt think i would get a window view but guess what...I did🤗 ...watched private flights arrive and depart...while enjoying Hot Coffee, Eggs Benedict and a tasty bread pudding (that I shared a piece with, a fellow patron, who were enjoying breakfast and fellowship with her friends, she asked what it was and was it good...Me: you want a piece? Her: ummm yes, Friends: leave her alone). I love, love a good bread pudding and this fried bread pudding was perfect!! The ambience of the place was nostalgic, it was full and others were waiting, I know why. If you find yourself, near Commercial in Ft Lauderdale check out Jet Runway Cafe....breakfast or lunch. Thank me later.

Google
First of all the location of this place is dope. Getting to see the planes take off and land is really cool. Ambience inside is really nice. The service was great and efficient. Kept refilling my coffee without having to ask. So my only gripe is the menu wasn't really expansive and the portions wasn't great. The food was good, I got the eggs benny, but nothing to scream about. Then the home fries were decent but felt like something was missing. I've had the same plate in other diners same price with bigger portions. Like if I take someone there it'll be cause of the location while the food being decent enough to show them the spot in the 1st place.

Google
After hearing mixed reviews about this place, located at the backside of the Fort Lauderdale Executive airport runway (hence the name). I checked it out during a week day instead of a weekend, and I must say i was impressed. The staff were on point, very warm and accommodating, and the menu was extensive, and oh, the food was so good, something there for everyone, even if you are a picky eater, I wanted to try it all. But I must say, although it's a small eatery, the turnaround was totally impressive. I felt no rush, although there was a line of customers waiting to be seated. I will surely put this as one of my favorite places to drop in when in the area.

Google
If you wake up early, you might get a nice view while having breakfast. I went around 10 a.m. on a weekday and was able to get a table by the window. The menu offered typical breakfast and lunch items. The service was good, and the food was excellent. Be aware that parking may fill up quickly due to other businesses in the area. No one should be charging $8 for a double espresso

Google
Fun little diner at the airport. I’m an aviation enthusiast so for me it was great but even my wife and kids enjoyed our breakfast. Not too many airplanes at our time but I can see it getting busy on the weekends for viewing and patronage. Overall the food was excellent and the service was quick and polite. They had an excellent kids menu as well with aviation games and puzzles. Will try and convince the family to come back again before our trip is over.

Yelp
Great food and it came from the kitchen hot and fast !!! Also the service was great

Yelp
The concept of this restaurant being right on the tarmac is one of the many great reasons to stop in! Living 11 minutes away from here and being told about it for the past two decades, I don't know why I waited so long to try it out, but soooo happy I finally did. It was so easy to get there and find parking. I was always told there can be quite a wait especially on the weekend, but I guess me and my boyfriend got lucky when we popped in on a Saturday morning shortly after they opened. We waited only about 10 mins and got a great seat right along the large windows facing the tarmac. Love how everyone in the restaurant works together and keeps the flow going to get your food out as quickly as possible. Our food was beyond delicious, fresh and so comforting. My boyfriend got the "Full Tank" while I went with the "Brunch Totchos" and we could not stop saying how great everything was for the rest of that day. This is a really great spot to take people from out of town or just enjoy a morning date with your partner like we did. I can not wait to return!
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Let me first say the staff was pleasant, the food was was exactly as pictured and we will definitely be back. That being said, the parking is scare and the wait was definitely a wait (spent about an hour waiting for a table). My advice would be to come early to beat the brunch crowd and find parking.

Yelp
IVE already posted a review for Jet ;) I'm adding new pics. I hope this updates with the previous review!

Yelp
Me and a friend came here to see the private jets and helicopters. We didn't get to see any land or take off but still was a cool experience. The place was pretty packed. We split the eggs Benedict. It was good. The eggs were made perfectly. The homes fries were a little to fried and well done that I'd like. The staff was super friendly. There's plenty of parking.

Yelp
Always a great meal and interesting view. Went with work friends to catch a glimpse of the Blue Angels. Very cool. I have tried many different meals and this place doesn't disappoint! And for my Coke not Pepsi friends - it's an all Coca-Cola menu. Salad was spot-on, soup was delicious but I would have wanted to be served hot - not warm. Loved the extra cheesey Mac'n Cheese!

Yelp
I struggled giving this place 5 stars because there's no reservation system & there's ALWAYS A 60 minute wait when I come. But the food, service, & views are so good that I had NO CHOICE. 1st - get the bread pudding for dessert. Share it with the table. It is phenomenal. I took a block home, popped it in the microwave & it was still perfection. Ugh! So good. 2nd- salmon burger was delicious. Fries were crispy on outside soft on the inside 3rd- French toast was great, without an eggy taste The prices are reasonable $18 for salmon burger $18 for French toast, eggs, bacon & sausage, grits And the waiters and waitresses work TOGETHER to make sure the entire cafe is taken care of. They don't " send " your waiter over when you ask them for something. 4.9/5 really because the wait is horrendous. But man is it worth it once you get there

Yelp
3/2025- 4 of us had a great lunch. Service was fantastic. One ordered the avocado toast with the fried egg on top ,one had the Philly cheesesteak ,I had shrimp and grits very interesting were a little different than what I expected, but still very good. The other had a spinach salad shrimp kebab looked really nice.. all very good .

Yelp
Jet Runway Café in Ft. Lauderdale is a gem for both aviation enthusiasts and food lovers alike. From the moment I walked in, the service was incredibly friendly and efficient--despite ordering to-go, my breakfast was ready in just 15 minutes. The café offers an amazing view of jets taxiing on the runway and parked planes, which made the experience feel uniquely exhilarating. I ordered the Jet Breakfast Sandwich on wheat toast, which was perfectly made with eggs that I got fried (hard), bacon, and cheddar cheese. The grits on the side were buttery, a great compliment. 1000/10 The atmosphere was relaxed since I went early in the morning, and the staff really made me feel welcomed although I had to go. I'll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend it for a quick, delicious meal with an unforgettable view!

Yelp
What a fun place to grab a bite! The restaurant sits next to the runway of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. As you enjoy your delicious food, you can watch the private planes come and go. The perfect spot for a little one into aviation, or your big one for that matter. The service is great, prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
I Placed my order with Jets runway through DoorDash. I ordered a First class breakfast classic and my STEAK was no where to be found. I also had the option to choose a toast and I chose rye bread and they gave me a croissant instead. I also ordered the triple stack pancakes and got blueberry pancakes. I spoke to the manager about the discrepancies with my order and she said to me there is no way I'm missing the steak , she was rude and inconsiderate. Horrible experience.
google avatar

Adam C.

Yelp
Located at the FTE private airport this is where you want to have breakfast before you head out in your private jet. The vibe is good because who does not like to watch jets taking off while sipping coffee. The full tank option offers the best value and the crispy French toast is worth every bite. Word is out and this restaurant can become rather crowded. Service is usually fast

Yelp
Cute little airplane resturant where you can watch airplanes go by.land or take off great staff and service lots of parking in and out or you can even take out the wait time is no longer then 30 minutes but so worth it . They have a small menu. Everything about this place is amazing super fun for kids .

Yelp
We had a really nice different type of lunch experience on a Sunday in January. It was just two of us. We had to wait 45 mintues for a table but we didn't mind because we walked around watching the planes land and take off. We even saw an itty bitty 2 seater plane land. The service at the restaurant was awesome. Very friendly staff. Food came out pretty quickly. My husband said that was the best Philly steak sandwich he ever had. We ordered a bread pudding to go and when we got home and opened the bag it had 5 chunky squares with berries and syrup. Wow! I expected just 1 square. We were pleasantly surprised with everything. $54 for all. Go check them out.

Yelp
It's our first time here and we enjoyed it, from the food to the view. We partook of dishes from the brunch menu. We had an order of the First Class and the Crab Cake Hash accompanied by mimosas. When we arrived there was a wait they quoted us half an hour to 45 minutes but I believe they called us 20-25 minutes in. We sat at a half booth with a beautiful view of the runway; the booth was comfy. Overall we liked our experience and would come back.

Yelp
This is the dream restaurant for anyone who loves food an airplanes. You've got high quality food, and a great view to see some taxiing planes, as well as some takeoffs and landings! How neat is that? The service rocked, the menu was to the point, and the food was mostly great. A slightly larger menu would have been more interesting. I'll let the menu slide because it's a breakfast/lunch/brunch only place. But seeing only 4 items on the "main plates" was slightly weak. and 3 burger options, 2 beef and 1 salmon is slightly weak as well. due to my own health issues I can't dabble with the burgers here, but a veggie or turkey burg would have convinced me to get one. Either way it was a great experience. Everyone in my group loved their food. Prices were modest. Only dropping a star because my food came out with cold mashed potatoes. I'm sure it was a random error.... but veggies and salmon, piping hot! sweet potato fries hot, everything delish but I had to take most of the mashed potatoes home and reheat them to enjoy it. Literally ice cold. the restaurant in general was cold (which i prefer) but it's like someone plated the potatoes first, left them under an AC vent for 5 minutes, and then plated the rest. Either way I'm not mad about it, good time all around, but can't call it a 5 star experience. 4.6 stars but they dont give me the option to rate it as such. My only advice would be to include more aviation titles to the menu items. FXCheese, Banyan burg, runway wrap and the hilarious "jet tacos." just a little confusing and minimal thought put into it (except for FXCheese, i enjoyed that one). but you're at one of the larger general aviation airports in south florida, the titles can be more creative. Also maybe a "show your pilots license and get zero discount" should be a thing, just so these entitled pilots can show the waitress/waiter that they're a pilot, guaranteed theyll love that so much they'll return.

Yelp
The food was good. The waitress was friendly and pretty quick despite how busy they were. I came because people mentioned seeing the planes but I got stuck staring at a wall so the main reason I came never happened. It cost more than I expected as well. I'd still recommend it as a one time thing if you can actually get a seat viewing the runway. Otherwise, I didn't see what all the hype was about and left disappointed. It's a tight spot so when crowded, it can be a bit loud.

Yelp
This was my first time eating here (I've lived here in Fort Lauderdale for 20 years & said to my friend that's been here before.."what took me so long"? lol. Symone and I both ordered The Full Tank and Hot Chocolate. Our server Karen was good and the food was delicous. I must say that I'm glad that we got there at 7:30am, because by 8:30 as we were leaving ALL of the seats were full!!
google avatar

Stacey G.

Yelp
Love JRC! It was a hidden gem for a lil bit but not anymore. If you're hungry for breakton the weekend, make sute ylu get there by 9-9:30 am. Food is always delicious and the service has alwajs been impeccable!
google avatar

Tavia L.

Yelp
This place is a well kept secret. It has great service fresh food. Well seasoned be prepared to wait in line depending on time of day you come.
google avatar

Sammy D.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! A cute brunch spot that's not expensive. The food is very well seasoned. I didn't do a reservation when I went so there was a 40 min wait time. The food was delicious would definitely recommend
google avatar

Dawne A.

Yelp
First time , definitely will be more times to come. You are dining in a converted airplane hangar, super views of planes coming and going. Food and service were excellent. I did the avocado toast ( one of my favorites) and it didn't disappoint. My son went for the Blackened Mahi Sandwich which he said was delicious. This place gets very busy and closes at 3.
google avatar

Cynthia T.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place out being it's on the runway. We saw a helicopter take off and a couple of planes land. The service was good, and the food was average. We ordered the blueberry pancakes and the crab dish everyone seems to enjoy. I didn't like it, so my daughter ate it and enjoyed it. I won't be back because there are other place I like better for breakfast but it's fun for one time. I did see a guy that goes every single week to eat there. The place was jam packed and there was. 30 minute wait. Ambiance was nice, just a bit busy.
google avatar

Gariette C.

Yelp
I went to Jet Runway for my birthday and I absolutely loved it. I got the best seat (got to view the airplanes). The food was incredible and the service was very efficient. I didn't have to wait too long to get seated so it was great overall
google avatar

Ali R.

Yelp
One of the best looking diners I've been to yet. With planes parked and flying right outside the window. The service was great. The servers were so helpful and friendly. Love how this spot is so cute on the inside while the outside is completely inconspicuous. Such a chill, picturesque cafe that I will definitely visit more.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Wow!! I recommend this place 100%!! It's a cute spot on the strip of the small airport. But the views are not just the best part! The food!!!! Everything was delicious! Best part is leaving full and not with that heavy feeling. This means the food is clean and healthy! I have recommended this spot to so many people already!
google avatar

Aliza K.

Yelp
This place was fine, nothing too exciting. It was pretty cool because you're sitting on the jetway, but to be completely honest, I don't even think we saw one airplane take off LOL. The food was super subpar, we ordered the blackened mahi mahi, which I was actually surprised about, great flavor! The jet cafe special which was eggs, bacon and potatoes and this dish was bad, no flavor. They don't even put salt or pepper in the eggs, the potatoes had zero flavor, not worth it. We also got the French toast, NO FLAVOR. We also ordered the bread pudding which was pretty good, it reminded me EXACTLY of the French toast sticks I used to get in elementary school, it was super nostalgic. It was fine but we def won't be coming back!
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
It's hard not to love a good stop in at Jet Runway. I jut went for my third time the other day and I'm officially three for three. They don't really take reservations so we walked in and crossed our fingers. We grabbed a window table which was fantastic. Right outside the window was a beautiful medical chopper. While we were still taking in the good vibes of the place the waitress already came by and brought waters. we got some coffees too. The best part was... They have V8! I grew up in New Mexico where every restaurant had it on the menu so that was a treat. we got a few different dishes. I got the classic breakfast sandwich with sausage and some potato's an grits. They always have had good grits. Everything was tasty really. The potatoes were grilled perfectly. It really is one of the top spots to hit for a bite in Fort Lauderdale.
google avatar

Greshka P.

Yelp
Since my last review I{ve come back and this place is still 5 stars to me. It has become very popular, there have been times there wait is a bit long but always worth it. This last weekend we got lucky and got a table right away. We brought a friend, it was her first time and just like us, she loved it. Got window seat, to see the planes come and go. Service was quick and efficient. Got our coffees and waters almost immediately and the food did not take long either. She had the tater tot casserole breakfast, and being a vegetarian, asked the sausage and bacon on the side for other at the table to enjoy. This was no issue for the server or the kitchen and she really enjoyed her dish. I got the make your own omelette with home potatoes and toast. Not only delicious but generous portions as well. And the coffee keeps coming if you want refills. If you haven't been yet, you are missing out.

Yelp
Met a couple friends for breakfast at Jet Runway Cafe and had a nice time ! The view is nice, as the restaurant is literally on the runway, so you get to see small planes and helicopters landing and taking off. The service was great, everyone was friendly and attentive and although it was busy, we sidnt have to wait to be helped. The food was pretty good. The only thing I absolutely did not like were the breakfast potatoes. Even with ketchup, salt, pepper ...something was not right. Overall, it didn't take away from the experience as a whole , so if you're in the area, check it out!
google avatar

Nadia V.

Yelp
I really enjoyed having brunch here; the food was very tasty and delicious; the portions are huge; my daughter and I shared our meal; my 2 year old grandson had his own kids meal and it could have fed a 12 year old. I ordered him chicken fingers, fried and a fruits; the chicken fingers were really good; however because of his age I wouldn't order it again for him because it's really Crispy. I tore them in small pieces, Next time I'll order the Mack and cheese because it's good for his age. I promise you will not be disappointed. The view of the plane was very nice; watching sport teams come and go and the wealthy families packed up to fly out; really nice scene . I wanted an hour to be seated there are no reservations.
google avatar

Briana N.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to go when im in the area! Not only can you eat, but you can watch the planes fly out through a huge window right by where the planes can park. And you can request to sit by the window if there are open seats available. The food itself is also delicious. Service is quick but the quality still delivers. Can't wait to come back again!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was great. Ambiance was fantastic. The food was ok. Big Poppa and his crew will go back.

Yelp
Revisited 1/28/2024 Jet Runway still got it! They are still top notch breakfast /brunch / lunch place. I was very excited about coming back here and wow they did not disappoint. Solid 5 Stars on all levels. We were a party of 3 and we were greeted immediately and seated very fast especially on a Sunday at 10am. Service was fantastic, they got all of our orders correct. We ordered: 1) Banyan Breakfast which includes three eggs any style, bacon and sausage, I chose breakfast potatoes and rye bread toast. 2) Triple Stack Pancakes added chocolate chips and a side of bacon. 3.) Full Tank with pancakes, two eggs any style, bacon and sausage and breakfast potatoes. Eggveryone was very happy with their food. It was fresh, great proportions and absolutely delicious. The place is very nice but on the small side so plan accordingly you will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to go back and try some new things on the menu. Cheers to a successful 2024 Jet Runway keep up that great work.
google avatar

Barbara D.

Yelp
Well the food was great, staff great, prices reasonable! My one and only complaint was the noise! If they could somehow pad the wall that exist to filter out the chatter it would be amazing! Very busy, waiting time worth it! We will go back for the food! Would love to go for breakfast or brunch!!!
google avatar

Garrett S.

Yelp
Very fun restaurant with cool views. They have large windows that over look the taxiway and runway so all the guest get to see planes coming and going the entire time. Food was very reasonably priced. It was a fun place for people young and old.
google avatar

Janet S.

Yelp
As soon as you step foot into this restaurant you notice the airplanes outside and it is such a beautiful view. I had the create your omelet and it is super yummy. It comes with a side and toast. I had the cappuccino and it was perfect with a rock candy next to it. The service was great and the food is very well priced. The omelet is $17 and the cappuccino is $6.
google avatar

Taylor N.

Yelp
Bread pudding and French Toast... Top Tier. I haven't really tried anything else because those two items just taste so good. I've had with eggs and sausage. No complaints. Also, customer service is great.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Food is great , ambience is beautiful, get to watch planes land and take off when you eat here , sits right on the runway outskirts , can get busy on weekends and expect to wait if your not an early riser !! God bless !! JESUS IS COMING !!!
google avatar

Vanessa O.

Yelp
This is a good spot for brunch. Service was great. It didn't take too long to be seated. Servers were attentive and checked back on us. The food was delicious; flavorful and fresh. I didn't care too much for the crunchiness on the French toast. And also, there was a lot of cheese on the tater tots dish. Overall, good choice. Nice view too.
google avatar

Junior L.

Yelp
Wow I love this place. Food was amazing, service was great. You get see plane and helicopter take off and land.. Definitely coming back.
google avatar

Mayi-Ericka S.

Yelp
Good food , service was excellent the only negative was the waiting for a table it took us 45 minutes on a Sunday . Ambience was good and unique with the small planes on the runway it made it worthwhile
google avatar

Teresa P.

Yelp
All-time lunch favorite. I take everyone I know here because I love to sit and watch the planes come in and out while I'm eating lunch. The food is fresh and affordable. It won't break the bank. It's a little crowded during lunch so it's best to hit this place just before lunch or just after lunch hour. The people here are extremely nice. The food comes out relatively quick so if it's a working lunch, you can get in and out of there fast. And don't forget to take time to watch the planes. The restaurant has huge windows along the airstrip so that you can have lunch or breakfast if you like and watch the really cool planes come in and go out.
google avatar

Kortney S.

Yelp
This is an amazing breakfast restaurant. Very different vibe on the runway of the private airport.
google avatar

Judy M.

Yelp
If you're ever in Fort Lauderdale, you have to stop by Jet Runway Cafe! I love the variety of their menu - there's breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I enjoyed the Cobb salad today. Our server was on top of things and had great energy. The restaurant setting is what makes this cafe unique. It's on the runway of a private airport. It makes the view so interesting because you're watching jets take off and land during lin. Overall, this is a great spot!

Doris I.

Yelp
Such a different place for lunch. Imagine eating right next to the runway while enjoying a delicious meal. Not only is the food delicious but it is so beautifully plated. I had to take a picture. It's great for tourist and families too.
google avatar

Lillian Z.

Yelp
Over all restaurant was okay. The food was decent. The service was polite and the restaurant was clean. I found it to be your average breakfast place with a really cool fun view. My husband loves chicken n waffles and he was not a fan of these. I had the two egg breakfast and it was okay. Nothing special but nothing was wrong either hence my 3 stars.
google avatar

Yelp
Good for Sunday brunch Food 5 Service 3 Ambiance 5 Get there early so you don't have to wait.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to get a table by the window to enjoy the planes taking off and landing. It is such a unique experience right in our very own backyard. We had a minimal wait time on a Tuesday around 1145 am. The service was great, quick, and efficient, and the food came out hot and pretty fast. They have a fairly large menu, so it was hard to choose what to get. I settled for the full tank with French toast and grits. Everything was flavorful, some of the best French toast I've had. It will run you $18, which is a bit much for breakfast, but it's an experience. My dad enjoyed the soup and salad combo. This is an experience I wish I had done sooner. It's a great atmosphere and a unique concept. It's great for business lunch, weekend brunch, or a daily breakfast outing. It's fun watching planes land and take off, making it a great foodventure.
