The Detroit-style pizza company with a devoted Midwestern following swung open in Chelsea today, at 120 Ninth Avenue between West 17th and West 18th streets. The company, whose 400-plus locations are mostly in the Midwest, is known for its thick square pies with crispy, caramelized crusts that come infused with flavors like garlic, poppy seed, or “turbo,” a butter-garlic-Romano combination. Pizzas come in either eight-corner or four-corner sizes, a method that maximizes edges. The new location comes from franchisee Scott Gregerson, who has plans to open more outposts within the five boroughs. For now, the Chelsea location is it, with a two-mile delivery radius from the restaurant. Detroit-style pizza has become popular in New York since Emmy Squared opened in 2016. But Jet’s, which started more than 40 years ago in the Detroit area, is the first Michigan-born company to make its way here, and with only ten seats, it’s goal is to be much more of a delivery operation. If I could give this place 50 starts I would! We tried Jet’s pizza first in Florida and we were AMAZED! Detroit style pizza is pretty sophisticated here. The crunch, the dripping tomato sauce, the right amt of salty oh man, or the cheese! And this location @NYC is just as awesome if not better cheese and hands down the BEST SERVICE! Went up to the cashier to check out a coke and the dude gave it for free! just don’t understand how this is not as famous as Joe’s! So underrated, PLZ go try this pizzeria and ur life won’t be the same lol!! Tips: there’s usually online deals to get 8 corner pizza which is like a whole pie for 20 bucks and the personalized one which is 4 solid slices still for 13) and u can get the slice for like 4 bucks! Yes a bit on the expensive side but NYC all is so ur paying for an amazing experience honestly

Combo meal for $10.89: 2 square slices of pizza and 20 ounce soda. Crispy crust n pizza but the pizza was okay. Nothing to rave about. The sauce was bland as it had no flavor. I wanted to be impressed but I wasn't. Doubtful I will be back.

I got to try the Detroit style pepperoni pizza for free on National Pepperoni Day. It was served and it's cute little box which was very nice. Was nice and crispy while the inside of the bread was soft and fluffy. I think the sauce cheese and pepperoni distribution was perfect too, so I would highly recommend trying it. The store itself, although small, was quite clean and had a welcoming atmosphere.

The pizza is good! Albeit shrinkflation has hit this place hard. Each order the pizza gets smaller & smaller. At first I thought it was my imagination, but then I saw how much room was left in the box. Also, the delivery option is complete garbage. If you’re charging for delivery - then at least deliver on time. If they a say a time - it’s an hour later - every time!

Went in late on a Saturday night around 11pm. Happy this spot was still open that late. First time trying Detroit pizza. I got the deep dish plain cheese slice and it was very good. Better than I thought. I really enjoyed the crust and the cheese that's spread all the way to the crust. Nice and crispy. The slice was $3.92. The staff were helpful and friendly. I will be back.

This was my go to late night pizza back in college days studying for midterms and finals. Was hoping it would hold up and be as good as I remember and it definitely delivered! Crust is super crispy and inside is still nice and soft. Make sure to get the turbo crust Detroit style!

Delivery was quick, and the pizza was still hot when it came. It didn't taste like anything special BUT their ranch was pretty damn delicious. I'd definitely buy a bottle of that just to keep in the fridge. Never dined inside, so can't speak much on the ambiance but have walked by and it looks clean. Just don't sleep on the ranch!

Their pizza is great but unfortunately have to give bad reviews because of their terrible delivery service. Waited over an hour over their estimated delivery time. Called their store twice and they mentioned they couldn't give me a time of when the pizza would get there. The store employee said it will "probably get picked up. ". Not a lot of confidence. Ended up having to cancel and get a refund because I waited over an hour and half for pizza and at this point it's probably cold by the time it gets to me. Also on a different delivery , all the cheese was sticking to the box. It was clear that someone dropped the pizza during delivery. I've also had different deliveries where the pizza was very cold.

UPDATE: We did end up getting the pizza and the quality was pretty good. It was mostly the customer service left a sour taste in my mouth especially since it was their mistake that caused the situation. Wow, such disappointing service. We've been ordering from this Jet's for a few years and have usually always had a good experience (minus the slow delivery times). However, this time, they delivered to the wrong address (even though we wrote our correct address in the order). The picture showed the pizza dropped haphazardly on the ground in front of the wrong address (the picture clearly shows the pizza in front of the wrong apartment since the apartment numbers don't even match). We tried calling to ask them to remedy the issue. The first time, they just said "they would take care of it" and hung up without any explanation. We had to call a second time where they got snippy but said they would bring the pizza (that was previously on the ground) over. After 30 minutes, of no pizza updates, we called again and they tried to argue with us and finally agreed to make a new pizza to make up for their mistake. We are still waiting for the pizza right now, it's been an hour and a half since we first ordered.... will update if we get our pizza...

Usually wouldn't leave a review for a chain like this, but I had to mention that this is some of the best delivery chain pizza I've ever had! Despite the lower stars this place has, I was so pleasantly surprised! Love a good Detroit style pizza; the "bold pepperoni" get crisp & curl, and the pizza was SO cheesy (without even asking for extra). Good amount of sauce, too. And, definitely get the "turbo crust"! They had a DoorDash special for buy one 4-corner pizza get one free! I'll def be ordering again:)

Came here after a late night out on the hunt for pizza. My friends and I stumbled across this place and decided to try it over the place next door because this restaurant has seating inside. The pizza took about 20 minutes. We got small buffalo chicken pizza which was around $23. This felt a little pricey for me given it only yielded 4 slices. My favorite part about the pizza was the crust. I actually really enjoyed the thicker crust, and it was surprisingly crunch and not soggy. I wish the pizza had more ranch because I don't think I would've enjoyed it very much if I didn't get a side of ranch. The pizza was extremely salty, so the ranch helped cut the saltiness. The buffalo flavor was good otherwise.

Wont be returning to this locarion. Too many other good pizza spots around to have to deal with poor hospitality. Dude behind the counter wearing the dreads up is rude to everyone, condescending, & forgetful. If the lack of hospitality wasn't enough to stop going here, I witnessed chemicals on the counter, & I also noticed NO gloves being worn in preparation of orders. I brought someone here so they can try it for the first time & neither of us will be returning. Really sucks.

BF is from Michigan and raves about Jet's/Detroit styled pizza in general. This is very different from NY pizza but honestly, it's really good. This is a chain/fast food but it's much better than any other chain/fast food pizza that I've tried (Domino's, Pizza Hut). I'd say it's most comparable to a Sicilian slice. I've had it twice and would have it again.

Jet's is a surprisingly clean and good pizza joint in Chelsea with ample seating and great slices of Detroit-style square pizza. I got the $10 deal for two slices and a soda and it was delicious. The pizza is crispy yet thick and pillowy. Really well done. It's a standout from all the thin New York slices available on the block.

I'm not gonna lie - I love Jets. But I also grew up in Metro Detroit. So you New Yorkers just don't get it. One of the things that bothered me the most when I saw this just opening up here, I saw a slew of comments along the lines of "there are so many better options for Detroit style pizza in New York. This is just not on par with the other places." Okaaaay. Sorry the ACTUAL pizza from Detroit that actually created this crap for your instagram feed isn't living up to the hype of the New York created Detroit style pizza spots. There's something really disgustingly weird about it. But Jets is yes, a chain like Little Caesars and its beloved by many from Michigan. I haven't had it in years because for some reason my Dad always wants to convince me that he found a great 'New York style' pizza place near his house. Anyway, you can get thin crust, regular, or the deep dish Detroit style. I went with the deep dish of just one slice which will run you under $4. There's a special for 2 slices and a 16 oz soft beverage for around $7. An entire pie is a bit pricey but 1-2 slices is really seriously filling. They list the calorie information on the side; which glancing at is a huge mistake. The sauce is tangy and kind of sweet - memorable, cheese is gooey, the pepperoni is just fine. It's not the thick cut curled up little cups that everyone is obsessed with but its traditional midwest pizza. We're nothing special. Just wait until you've had Cottage Inn. I'm more than thrilled that this is around. Yeah, I still haven't been to Lions, Tigers, and Squares yet and it will come eventually because it looks amazing but this is so nostalgic and an emblem of the actual pizza in Michigan.

This is the first NYC location of a Detroit Style Pizza chain from Detroit. This would've been really cool if it opened here like 4 years ago, before Emmy Squared and tons of other places that are now doing excellent Detroit Style Pizza. Also it's unmistakably a chain from the second you walk in, which is kind of depressing. There was nobody inside except 4 guys in Jet's Pizza hats sitting around that looked really sad to be there (I assume maybe they were delivery guys waiting around for orders?). Anyway one of the good things is you can just buy a single slice of the Detroit Style Pizza, so I asked for a corner slice with pepperoni. About 3 minutes later, the slice came out. For just $2.83, it's really not bad, but there's honestly not much reason to eat at a chain spot in NYC when there is so much amazing pizza around, especially when Lions & Tigers & Squares is so close by and makes an excellent Detroit Style Pizza, usually. The menu is expansive and there is a ton of other stuff too, like wings, subs, round pies and thin crust pizza.

I didn't know much about Jet's until a friend from Detroit told me about it. People from Detroit are very proud of their pizza but there is nothing wrong with that. I didn't realize this place looks like a chain and it is. It reminds me of the Detroit version of Pizza Hut. I went with the classic detroit style deep dish. This place has Detroit written all over it! Good stick to your ribs grub that will fill you up at a good price. I loved the crust and I feel like that is what it makes it authentic. The crunch of the pizza makes it addicting to eat and it was overall pretty good. This is borderline fast food style pizza but I could see myself ordering this once every other month when in the mood. Check it out!

I really liked this Chicago style deep dish! It was cooked perfectly, so crispy. Perfect crust to cheese ratio, in my humble opinion. We did a build your own and it was honestly one of the best pizzas I've had in awhile. Even in the toaster oven today, the leftovers were *chefs kiss* If you're looking for a deep dish pizza I'd definitely try this one out! I'd order again

We were craving late night munchies since we had an early dinner and saw Jet's on DoorDash. We were quickly mesmerized with the crispy pepperonis all over a pizza so we opted in for that. When ordering, make sure you add pepperoni because I almost made the mistake of ordering it as just cheese pizza. Fist time at Jets and loved it! This is my second time in New York and my first time in Chelsea. Jet's has great pizza, especially the Buffalo chicken Ranch pizza...delicious! There's a lot of talk about pitting Lions&Tigers&Squares against Jet's, especially since they are a short walk away from each other. I think both are solid contenders for a good bite if you're in the area, though I am partial to Jet's for their consistency. Jet's offers a $7 special for two squares (plain or pepperoni) and a drink. The slices come packaged in sturdy, individual cardboard boxes which is great if you want to share or will be carrying them around. I find the boxes at L&T&S are not only large but also unwieldy and too thin as pools of grease will stain the bottom by the time I get back home. The pepperoni square at Jet's comes piping hot, though the pepperoni doesn't crisp and curl up into cups like they do at L&T&S. This was a disappointment as 'roni cups add so much in flavor and texture to a square. There was some good caramelization on the edge and corners and I found the crust to be a little doughier compared to that of L&T&S. My favorite aspect of the square at Jet's is their cheese. It's a good healthy layer, warmed to the perfect temperature for some slight cheese pull action. The cheese is layered on after the tomato sauce here (not the other way around as in L&T&S) which I enjoy. It lends a milder and less dry experience. I've been here twice so far, and have yet to be let down which is more than I can say for L&T&S, which bangs out some great pies but also terrible ones too. On a good day, L&T&S could edge out Jet's but like the tortoise and the hare, the steady and consistent win.

The crust is the perfect amount of fluffy and chewy. It actually holds up the sauce, cheese and toppings! The cheese and sauce are abundant (which is honestly hard to find in NYC because of NY-style pizza) and delicious. Definitely a little bit on the more expensive side with a charge of $2.99 per topping, but worth it. Also got a Greek Salad, which was really crisp and fresh. Came with as many dressings as I wanted.

It's hard to describe Jet's to someone who didn't grow up with it in Michigan, but I was recently tasked with this when I suggested to my boyfriend and his roommate that we order from there. It is "top tier crappy pizza," I said. It's the Rolls Royce of chain pizza. It's certainly not the artisanal, New York deep dish that you might be used to at Prince Street or Emmy Squared, yet it somehow checks boxes that those don't. Now, it's (a lot) pricier than I remembered. I think an extra large pie was $32 and fed the three of us comfortably, but like I said, it's basically fast food. We also got the Jet's Bread ($12) with the garlic butter, which was not as good as I remembered from my childhood but still damn good. We picked it all up a little later than the quoted time and had to throw it in the oven when we got home but it was still solid. I personally put Jet's over Lions Tigers and Squares, the next closest Detroit-style joint, but not sure how much of that is nostalgia speaking. Either way, it got good reviews from my boyfriend + roommate. Will order again.

I discovered Jet's back when I lived in the Midwest. Sadly, I no longer live there. When I visited that city, Jet's was my first meal after I returned. Thus, I was absolutely over the moon when I looked over in the back of an Uber on 9th avenue and saw that NYC was getting a Jet's. I was even more thrilled when they opened and were available on Uber Eats. My regular Friday night after work order was an 8 corner cheese pizza, with extra cheese and turbo crust paired with a side of their amazing ranch. Sadly, I haven't ever ordered that from this location. I can't justify $31.38 for that. I've only ever ordered a 4 corner pizza for $18.57. Which feels insane for 4 pieces of pizza. But when I want to treat myself, I'll do it. To summarize, the food is amazing. Really amazing. But the prices will deter me from eating here regularly as I did before. But hey, that's New York. So I get it but I don't like it.

Pizza tastes like a thicker Domino's. I ordered via Doordash which was bad but for its own reasons (overcharged me and 20 minutes with customer service). When I called Jet's, the guy on the phone was rude even before I uttered a word. They know who's calling from caller iD and I guess they try to figure out why you're calling before you tell them. There was a problem with the order once it arrived. Had the guy on the phone been worth anything, he would've told me about it when I called the first time. When I called the second time, he answered the phone this way: "Yeah? Yeah?" If I wanted an angry 5 year old to deliver my food, I'd ask my neighbors to borrow their kid. Yuck. Who needs this garbage?!?

Hope you are ready for Detroit style pizza from a 40 year old Michigan pizza chain that has moved in to it's first location in Chelsea. They sell square or rectangle shape pizza, no pies. When you order don't say slice like some tourist, say ' corner ' or how about ' Yo givme 2 corners Bro ' that's the way to do it. So what is the difference besides the shape ?, Well unlike a Sicilian the edge of the pan is lined with cheese and depending what your order, galic, butter, poppy seed, etc is added. The pizza dough is padded down thick and then when cooked the cheese falls over so that the crusts on the edges become extra caramelized and crispy and so is the bottom. I say get there before the lines do.

Worst delivery experience ever. They literally thought they were delivering to their own address. The delivery guy called me 4 times. I called the restaurant 3 times. Jet's Pizza is def one of my faves! When visiting a family friend in the area, she brought square pizzas from here and OMG... If you love crusty/crispy pizzas, this is the place for you! It's full of flavor and give a good amount of toppings. I decided to visit this place myself a week ago for the first time and didn't know what to order exactly since the menu was super tiny. They only have it on the screen on top and the font was so small. I was able to make out that there's Detroit Square Pizza and that's exactly what I ordered. It does take about 10-15 mins to make so be prepared to wait a little! They do not have sit down dining yet so everything is order to-go. I came back later on to pick it up and noticed the staff keeps your box in the warmer if you're not there yet. That's great service!

If you try to order pizza from this place, they are entitled, they will treat you like crap, and their pizza is inconsistent. Sometimes it's great sometimes is absolutely horrible. It's basically like an overpriced pizza hut. However, recently I've been getting very sick from the pizza, diarrhea vomiting ect, so I stopped ordering completely, it's like Montezuma's revenge AVOID

After a lot of fanfare on Eater and other sites, this place finally has arrived. I came in the other night and ordered a 6-piece small with pepperoni with turbo crust. You also get to choose a flavor for your crust, which I suppose is the shtick here that is supposed to bring people back. You can choose from Cajun, poppy seed, sesame seed, shredded Parmesan, Butter, Garlic, Romano or Turbo Crust, which combines the Butter+Garlic+Romano in one. The place had several tables to eat at. The staff were super friendly. I just wish the product itself was a better value. I get it that the area is rather expensive, but I think Lions & Tigers & Squares Detroit Pizza eats this place alive and is literally 5 minutes away. Specialty pies start at $20, while you can get similar options from LTSDP for ~$13. The wait time is far less too at LTSDP. Price aside, I would say the crust and cheese are good and the bottom a little doughy. Otherwise, the rest of it was just okay. I think this pizza is best described as Little Caesars on steroids for like double the price. I do wish them well in NY, but the pizza market already has some serious competition in place.

Updating this review. My roommate gave in and ordered the large one topping pizza (pepperoni) and jets cheesy bread. IT IS SO GOOD. This was a ton of food and is extremely filling after one slice. Im guessing this slice will last us a couple days. I'm not sure what they put on the crust or the bottom but it's just crispy and crunchy. Happy to say we are satisfied but one point docked for our previous customer service experience

We've been ordering from here for a few years and always enjoyed the pizza. The last two orders were a disaster - we couldn't eat the first one because of a delivery mishap (which the delivery person refused to acknowledge responsibility for) and the second order never arrived. Me and my roommates were craving some Detroit Style Za, and saw there was a jets in NYC. The delivery took an hour, but the pizza was great. Lotta bread in each bite, you have to get the Turbo Crust and Ranch on the side. Very good would definitely order again

What a horrible experience from start to finish. Ordered on UberEats. The restaurant uses in house delivery so they don't give you a timeframe for delivery. You have no idea when to expect arrival. Arrival time stated 30-45 minutes. After an hour and twenty minutes I got a call from a delivery driver who was screaming that he couldn't find the address. It's very easy to find, on one of the most visited streets on Central Park South. He asked me to text him the address. I did. No response. I asked him to confirm receipt of the texts. No response. I called back. He yelled that he "couldn't find my address buddy". Hangs up. Is he intending to simply not deliver my $45 order? I call the restaurant. They contact him and confirm that he's on the way. Pizza finally gets here and the family is excited to finally sit down and enjoy a normal sized BBQ chicken pizza. We open the extremely tiny box to find a burnt disk the size of a toddler dinner plate. This wasn't the gorgeous picture they portrayed on the site. It barely feeds on adult. I call the restaurant back to see if there's been some mistake. The woman explains that since we ordered a cauliflower crust, it shrinks the size of the pizza from a regular, to a 9in personal pizza. Whatever the heck that means. They don't indicate a size difference on the site, else I'd never have ordered a child's personal pizza for a family of 4. The pizza was freezing, and hard as a rock. Inedible. Just a completely horrid experience all the way around. Hopefully UberEats refunds my $45 so I can get a $.99 pizza, which is the size of a normal pizza slice, and takes 15 minutes to deliver. Save your time on this place. Is looks great, but it's not what you think.

We were given a pick up order time of 6:15pm and was told it would be N additional 10 min. Multiple other ordera showed up and left ad we were left sitting for over 20 min after order time to get carry out order. We were late for event and our pizza was cold

I ordered a regular, margarita style, and a white with spinach slice. The prices was what I expected for a slice in Manhattan. As for the seating it's very limited again as expected for Manhattan. Now we get into the pizza. The regular (for all the hype) I was not impressed at all. It was slightly over cooked. The sauce was kind of sweet with enough cheese. The Dough was crispy but yet chewy. On a scale of one 1-10 I would rate this slice a 4. The margarita slice was fairly dry (I know fresh mozzarella produces less oil) missing a little added oil. They could have added a little more salt, or used a little more of a salty cheese I would rate this slice a 2 out of ten. I would not recommend this slice. Now for the white with the spinach. In my opinion this was the better out of the three slices. It had enough ricotta and mozzarella the spinach was sautéed with garlic and oil, not over cooked. The Dough was pretty close the the regular slice. The food was not bad, but I have had better and especially expected to receive a fresh non reheated slice of pizza after waiting on line for about 10 minutes before ordering.
