⭐ 3/5 – Friendly staff and great location, but management attention needed
I stayed at Jetwing Jaffna recently. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and always smiling, their warmth really made my stay pleasant. The location is also excellent and very convenient for exploring Jaffna.
However, the rooms feel quite outdated and a bit crowded with furniture. There are also some health and safety concerns the rugs on the tiled floors are very slippery, and during my stay, there was a small incident (fortunately no harm done).
Housekeeping standards could be improved. When I checked in, the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned and the bedding had marks. The team tried to fix it but mentioned they were having ongoing issues with the laundry service. I was even advised to check the bedding myself when checking in, which shouldn’t be the guest’s responsibility.
I completely understand the importance of giving opportunities to trainee staff, and I have nothing against that. However, the number of trainees across departments, including the restaurant, housekeeping, and front office, seems too high compared to experienced staff. This imbalance affected service quality and efficiency despite everyone’s best efforts.
Overall, the staff’s friendliness and hospitality were good, but management needs to focus more on cleanliness, safety, and maintaining a better trainee-to-staff ratio to uphold Jetwing’s usual high standards.
