"Indian-born, New York-based restaurateur Hari Nayak creates South Indian coastal cuisine rooted in his youth and transformed by his years of experience in world-class fine dining establishments; particularly representative is the delicious avocado mousse-filled Panipuri with passionfruit sauce. Meanwhile, the dining room balances vintage refinement with contemporary elegance and the beautiful Indian- and Thai-influenced cocktails are just as inspired." - Michelin Inspector

Flavorful Indian fine dining with good wine pairing at a very reasonable price. Love the pani puri, avocado and passion fruits were a great combination. Some of the dishes can be a bit hot though. Attentive and friendly staffs. Parking is available at a hotel nearby and you can get a parking stamp at the restaurant.

We were a big group of 20 pax and we had their tasting menu. We all enjoyed the courses from start to finish! All dishes were flavorful and delicious and presented very beautifully. I love the ambience and the vibe of the place, very cozy with good lighting. We also appreciate how accommodating they were when we told them we were adding one more person. They were so easy to talk to from booking the dinner to the end of our dinner. Highly recommend for a fun night with friends or even date night with your partner.

Excellent tasting dinner I arrived alone, the staff welcomed me happily Explained about the menu I took a tasting menu, and upgraded with two dishes Everything was excellent, I really have no words... I chatted with the chef, it was interesting and joyful Mushroom soup was legendary The signature dish, chicken, was phenomenal Amazing dessert All dishes were very balanced, spicy just right The excellent curry dish left me speechless. Thank you very much for an exciting taste experience and excellent hospitality.

First time here. Food is really good. More like southern part of India, am I correct? Normally we eat northern Indian food, curry and nan bread. Vibe is cozy, comes early to avoid crowd. I was there around 7pm , very few tables but once it’s 8ish to 9pm,,,, full house. Well dessert here is not my thing. Better go with the food 😍

South Indian cuisine crafted by Chef Hari Nayak, an experienced chef with a background in Michelin-starred restaurants. The menu offers both course meals and an à la carte selection, and this time we opted for the à la carte. The dishes were delicious and varied, with a highlight on the signature spices of Indian cuisine. However, not every dish was heavy on spices, making it approachable for those who may not be accustomed to intense flavors, allowing everyone to enjoy the taste of Indian food.

Started of with Maska Bun gave me the childhood memories . 10/10 Karala Mutton Roast / Patrani machi was worth the freshness and the quality authentic taste of the south . Ghee Roast chicken ( felt a bit spicy as red chills got fused with ghee but the coconut chutney cool down taste pallet. Lastly had Andhra Chicken Biryani felt they could have done better . But worth trying if u are biryani lover

I don’t even know where to begin, but this is my second time in Jhol and I’m surprised the rating is 4.7. They deserve at least a 4.8 or 4.9. First experience was over lunch with a group of 8pax. And today was to celebrate my husband’s 30th (2pax) Most of the reviews that said the service was bad, probably just had a bad day and needed something to complain about. In my 2 experience with Johl, the servers were kind and explanatory. We got some stories or context about the food which to me gave a warm touch to the experience. The other reviews I saw here was about the portion. To be honest if you come in a group, sharing portion might be hard and will obviously stack up the bill because it is indeed pretty small. But given the setting, I would suggest going here for a date, an anniversary, or smaller party below 4 to make it more intimate and any sharing plates would be nicely split, along with the bill. But again, Jhol is an elevated resto/casual fine dine so obviously expect it to be on the pricier side. But is the food worth the price? Yes. Kitchen chefs put everything into the flavor and spices. Each dish we ordered came perfect. Two in particular made me shed a tear (the BFC and the ghee). It is absolutely quality. Cocktails are also very unique and pretty strong. My favorite was the Indian P*rn Star. The passion fruit mix was superb. Overall I’d give this place a 9.9/10 and yes I absolutely recommend. And no this is not a paid review! Just simply giving this place the spotlight it deserves.
