"Order the Ji Ji noodle bowl – noodle soup or ‘dry’ noodles are topped with char siew, deep-fried wonton and veggies and served with wonton soup. Pork crackling adds a lovely crunch. A dab of homemade chilli sauce is a must." - Michelin Inspector

Hawker Guide: Hong Lim Market and Food Centre

"This wanton mee specialist draws lines for good reason. After the elderly matriarch retired and handed the reins to her two daughters, loyal customers noticed a price hike but the quality held steady: noodles are consistently al dente and springy, and the wantons—fried and boiled—are meaty and flavourful." - Alethea Tan

Supper Series: 5 Wanton Mee Stalls In Singapore That Open Till Late

"This Michelin-recommended stall is probably more of a late dinner spot than supper, but it's not hard to see why. Run by two sisters who were taught the recipe by their mother, the pair dole out saucers of magic sauce that they make in batches fresh daily. The wantons here are also the epitome of plump and juicy." - Meryl Koh

Kitty and I want to share our experience at Ji Ji Wanton Noodle Specialist at Hong Lim Market and Food Centre. This place is legendary, serving delicious wanton noodles for over 50 years. They've earned a loyal following and Michelin awards, so we had to check it out. We recently visited, wanting to see if Ji Ji lived up to the hype. We were at Hong Lim Market, which we always visit. Kitty ordered the wanton mee. While I saved the seats, she went to order, and I noticed there are multiple prices with different sizes, $4.50, $5.50,, $6.50 and even $8.50. Kitty selected the $6.50 portion. However they only receive cash which is rather inconvenient. From the first bite, it was clear why Ji Ji is a local favorite. The ingredients were incredibly generous. There was a mountain of perfectly cooked char siu that was savory. The wantons were the real star. Each one was fabulously juicy, bursting with flavor, and packed with meat. To make it even better, there's also fried wanton, pork lard, and pork lard oil. All the ingredients blend beautifully, especially the noodles with all the necessary sauces. The noodles were cooked perfectly, creating a balance of flavors and textures that was delightful. We finished the whole bowl, and Kitty kept saying how nice the wanton mee is. Despite their Michelin recognition, the store owners are incredibly friendly and humble. The atmosphere at Hong Lim Market is always bustling, adding to the authentic hawker experience. We highly recommend Ji Ji Wanton Noodle Specialist to anyone seeking an exceptional bowl of wanton mee. It is a culinary gem that merits all accolades. We have awarded a 4 star rating, primarily due to the absence of cashless payment options such as PayNow.

As a Sarawakian who enjoys kolok mee almost every day, I feel this noodle is quite decent, though perhaps a little overrated for my personal taste. It reminds me more of a good wanton noodle. The dumplings and wantons are generously sized and nicely seasoned I could really taste the pepper, which was a pleasant touch. Overall, it’s an enjoyable bowl of noodles, though I still personally prefer Sarawak kolok mee. Thank you for the experience!

Google
fresh dumplings, healthy soup. CASH ONLY. must order the bigger portion because the small one really not filling enough, anyways it is still affordable. for context mine is $5.50 and $6.50 respectively. i do not think this is the best wonton mee in SG. the flavour is not mind-blowing but the dumplings is nicely seasoned. noodles okok, not very qq. since its conveniently located in hong lim, it is worth to try. long queue even at 130pm so be prepared to wait~

Paid a visit to this stall on a weekend afternoon. Was still quite early before noon and when I arrived, the queue was already quite long. I thought this length would probably no need to queue more than 30 minutes but ended up queuing for almost an hour for it. I would recommend those who do not have the patience to avoid this. Got to realize there was only this auntie doing a one man show here hence the speed would be much slower. The wait was a bit horrible because I felt the area was quite warm without much ventilation, and being too long in the queue made me question my decision of what I wanted to order. Finally was my turn to order. I realized there wasn't any dumpling noodles so I ordered the usual signature char siew wanton and added a bowl of dumpling soup. I ordered the $5.50 noodles and the portion was alright for me. The noodles was decent I won't say its fantastic but the thing I liked was the soup which tasted better than I expected. I wanted the dumplings because I wanted the prawns. The dumplings were pretty good and the prawns were quite fresh. The fried dumplings were also pretty well done. The char siew was better than those typical red ones because I found those too dry and this wasn't. Overall didn't really find anything to fault. Just felt that it was probably slightly better than a typical bowl of wanton noodles but not fantastic enough. Perhaps taste is very subjective to individual and still if you are willing to queue, it would be nice to come try and judge for yourself. I probably give it a 3.5 than a 3.

Google
Old school hawker style noodles. Expect a wait bc there is only one person cooking but overall a pleasant experience. Everyone there is really nice and friendly. There are two lines: one to place your order (you will be told when); another to pick up your food. The wontons are not super meaty but crispy and tasty. The noodles are el dente and the sauce umami. Don't forget the chilli.

** Worth the Queue! ** Ji Ji Wanton Noodles Specialist is amazing. A true Malaysian-style wanton hawker gem. The line is long but absolutely worth it. Great prices, fulfilling wanton soup, and delicious noodles. Came with friends and we all loved it.

Went to queue before the opening hours and waited about 20 + minutes. Breaking down each components on the bowl. Firstly the noodle is springy which is good, the char siew was slightly abit tough and lacks some char and glistening on the char siew but flavour was good. The soup wonton was made with pork and it has a nice texture. The crispy fried wonton was even better, crispy and excellently seasoned. The overall taste was decent but can have a little more seasoning.

Hi was at HongLim complex food centre recently to buy dinner. It’s been a long while since I had JiJi wanton noodles. Lady boss super friendly, chatty but still fast hand. Q move fast. Numerous Michelin awards since 2016 and still going strong. Was awarded again for 2025. I ordered the signature set medium $5.50/- to take away. Thanks for viewing. Happy food hunting Happy eating.

Yelp
Definitely worth the wait! I got their signature bowl and there was a variety of flavors and textures. The dumplings were super soft and the char siu had a nice sweet taste. The broth on the side was also amazing.

Yelp
There is a reason why this wanton noodle soup has earned Michelin guide stars since 2016! I came on a weekday around 10am and there was already a line. I waited about 25 minutes for my turn. I got the #1, Ji Ji signature char siew wantan noodle - $4.50 SGD with a side of braised chicken feet - $4 SGD. I'm glad I ordered a small but then I'm also sad I didn't order a large because it was so yummy! It was a filling meal. The chicken feet side came with 6! That's more than what you get at a dim sum restaurant here in North America! Everything was so flavorful. It was just 2 people working, I assumed the younger lady was also the owner. The sweetest lady you'll ever meet. Very friendly. She asked. "how come you don't want chili? When in Singapore you got to have chili." I'm so glad I listened, it was so delicious with the noodles. A must have at this hawker center. It's located on the 2nd floor. I also like she has a change machine. So if you need help breaking a large bill, this is the place to do it.

Yelp
This place not it's 6th year in a row for Michelin guide winner and I can see why. It's soooo good. There a ee a variety of different wantan mee you can choose from but we went with the signature dish - small version. You must get their sambal as well it's sooo good. The first look at the bowl, I wasn't impressed, it looks tiny and not really anything to write home about. However, once you mixed up the bowl, you can see there's tons of noodles in there, making it a very filling meal. Oh and as you eat, you realize there's also a ton of charsiu. I was like ' why are there more and more char SIU??' lol. The I love the complexity of the flavors and texture in this dish. The side broth was also very good, it changes each time you eat it with something from the noodle bowl. And for $S4.50, it was amazing.

Yelp
Ji Ji Noodle House is one of the food stalls that you must patronise if you are at Hong Lim Food Complex. This is also one of the stalls recommended by Michelin Guide.  They occupy 2 shop spaces side by side in the hawker centre with one side as storage and the other as ordering area. Even on a Saturday morning, the queue was overwhelmed. It took us about 30 minutes to get the order. We have Fried Chicken Cutlet to share among ourselves. Frying to golden brown in its crispy skin and coated with some chilli sauce. The meat was both juicy and tender. There are numerous dishes on their menu and one of the popular ones will be their Signature Noodle. Their noodles are sold at 4 prices $4.50 / 5.50 / 6.50 / 8.50. The bowl of Signature noodles was generously loaded with ingredients like Char Siew Slices, minced pork, braised mushrooms, wantons, pork lard as well as greens. I was swept away by how flavourful and by its piquant taste when I had the first mouthful. It has a unique fragrant that was not commonly found in normal hawker noodles on top of those pork lard bits. Texture of the noodle is springy too. There are a number of fried wantons as well as the normally boiled wantons. The fried ones were good with their thin and crispy skin. Char Siew was tender and great pairing with the noodle sauces. Not only was the food above average, the lady who serves the customers was friendly despite a busy queue ahead. I don't mind going back again for great service and food.

Yelp
Excellent old school Sui Gao (dumpling) noodle. The 3 dumplings are large (as they ought to be) and have ample minced pork filling with detectable fresh shrimp and water chestnut. Slightly thicker type noodles were cooked just right. The sauce is slightly sweet but balanced by the perfectly portioned green yu choy, mushroom slices and crispy pork lard. The accompanied dark chilli sauce is well made and should be mixed into the noodles to lessen its sweetness. A satisfying Michelin Plate for $4.50.

Yelp
This have been one of my favorite wanton noodles stall. I have been avoiding it becos the taste is so good and it's almost addictive. The regular must have know the huge amount of pork lard hidden, chopped so small yet crunchy, so small that I cannot seem to find them to remove them. This "hidden" secret naturally add to the tastiness. I had the Dumplings version of the noodles. The dumpling probably didn't get to soak cooked long enough becos it like almost solid hardness for dumplings. The prawns embedded in these jello rocks is fresh and crunchy. The mushrooms in the sauce, and the sauce liberally soaking the noodles is probably the other secret. Now I remember that they don't clip off the stems of the mushrooms. Those stems are hard to chew, probably cause a few people to dislocate their dentures. The texture of the noodles is probably not as chewy as the other famous wanton noodle place, but when all the above combined the noodles dish itself taste wonderful. They lost one star for the dumpling, which I am pretty sure if they had less Q, this problem disappears. I won't return too much since I cannot remove those tasty pork lard crunchy crumbs.

Yelp
Read about its wanton noodles and I decided to give it a try as I'm in the neighbourhood. Definitely not the food-court-taste wanton noodles. I had the char siew wanton and added the fried wantons for extra dollar.

Yelp
Dropped in on a busy Sunday at lunchtime, and this double stall caught my eye because it is nice and colourful with lots of awards on it. Ordered up the large wonton noodles for $5 and overall it was very good. As others have said, the portions are large and the ingredients go beyond what other stalls offer. In the dish there were two types of wontons - fried (which were average) and boiled pork with prawns (which were amazing). There is also some Chinese cabbage and mushrooms which were a nice touch. The biggest downside was the noodles, seriously they need to improve the quality of these - just tasted wrong. Lastly, the sauce was a bit terrible, it wasn't a soup-style dredging of it which is good. Next time, go with the boiled wontons, extra vegetables and less of everything else.
