Small menu of jianbing, rice bowls, and sides which can be assembled into a combo. The pork jianbing was nicely prepared with a crispy skin wrap, while the roasted eggplant was overly salty and saucy. Staff are nice and service is fast. The counter seating is a little awkward with 3 of the 5 seats partially blocked by the glass screen that separates the stove.

I enjoyed the Jiangbing sandwich. I got it filled with beef at medium heat. The sandwich was hearty and full of flavor. It had a nice combination of sweet and spicy.

Stopped in to try the Jianbing after having my first one in Auckland. It was good but not much flavor, also not as oily as the one I had in NZ. A good portion size for $13. I'd get it again.

Decent authentic Chinese food. But the cashier is very rude. One notice, if you are not accustomed to vey spicy things, don’t order spicy.

I can’t speak for the cute dumplings and the good looking scallion pancake wraps...but the jian bing here is far from an authentic China taste. The traditional sauce and spice is missing. And the ‘crepe’ itself (for lack of better word) is much more French than the scallion/sesame infused deliciousness I enjoyed in China. This one comes up bland. (And I asked for the high spice.) I did enjoy my side of roasted green beans. If you’re not after the real thing, this is a fun nod to the China original.

My husband and I split the Jianbing with beef and Jidan Bing with pork. Both were delicious! We got them both hot and the jianbing was really spicy. I like the heat, but might want to stick with medium if you’re not prepared for really spicy. The jidan bing ordered hot wasn’t quite as hot as the jianbing. Not sure if it was because of the preparation with beef vs pork or the combination of all ingredients. Either way, yum!

Woooooooo! Jianbing! I practically lived off these things last time I was in China, so I was super excited to give these guys a try. $13 seems a little steep for what is found in major Chinese cities for less than $1, but OK, it's NYC blah blah blah. Jianbing: thin, crepe-type wrap filled with your choice of meat (or tofu in my case) as well as a deep fried crisp cracker, scallions, cilantro, and chili paste (various heat levels available). It's good, tasty, light, but it's lacking in any heft approaching, say, a burrito, which might be a deal-breaker for some at a $13 price point. It also isn't quite as portable as it looks, as it is lightly packed and easily falls apart if not carefully held. Sides: had 3/4, and 2/3 were terrible, with only the edamame dumplings holding up. The green beans tasted like they'd been marinated overnight, and not in a good way. Maybe it's just me, but green beans are best with some crisp and complementary seasoning, not soggy and pungent. The eggplant was equally unappealing, mostly due to indiscriminate use of ginger. The Chinese do love the ginger, but these levels were absurd, rendering the eggplant a slimy ginger mush pile. Yeah, I would order their jianbing again if I had the hankering, and I really want to try the jidanbing (folded flatbread type version of jianbing), but they always seem to be out of it. Fine place, clean, and conveniently fulfills a niche interest without having to schlep down to Chinatown.

Was in the Gotham Market and wanted to try something, I hadn't tried beofre. Stopped at the Jianbing both. The staff was not very attentive, not very nice and not "customer service focused". I was in line just to the right of the register. The person that came to the register, just started ring up another person, although I was clearly in the front of the line. This "front line" employee, didn't say "Hello", "Who's next" or "May I help who is next in line". NO greeting, no nothing. When I state, "I'm next" the guy just shrugs. I order my food. And wait......and wait. Come to find out, one of the two other employees gave my order to someone else. When I said, something, the response was, "it's still warm". Based on my experience, this is the last place I would recommend. Poor customer service and disgruntle employees make for a poor experience. I cannot recommend this place and will never return. If I could give them "zero" stars I would.
