It's the fourth, so why not try a new BBQ place? I chose this place because I have heard so many great things. I was told it can get busy on a regular day, but on the Fourth of July, it could get very busy. Well, it was busy, but the wait was reasonable, maybe twenty minutes at the most. Plus, there is plenty of seating while you wait, and there's a really nice bar if you want to sit there and dine. Now, the wait gave me a chance to talk to the many people waiting to be seated who had been there a dozen times to tell me their favorites on the menu. The consensus was that everything was good. So, I ordered the lean brisket, which was very lean and well seasoned, the way I like it. The BBQ sauce was a first for me. They had several sauces, and all were good, from heavy to lite. But it was the lite sauce that was my favorite. I could still taste the spices and the goodness of the brisket without the sauce overpowering the flavor. I love a lite sauce, but most places only have heavy sauces. I have to brag on the macaroni and cheese, it was good. It was not overly cheesy, and the noodles were not mushy or chewy; it was nice and plump. Now, of course, I indulge in other people's plates. The turkey was super moist, sliced just right, not thin or thick. The ribs were tender, and one bite could pull the meat straight from the bone. The Carolina BBQ sauce added more flavor, but there are plenty more sauces to choose from, too. The cheese biscuits, I would say, are the star of the show. Those little bites before the entree are a dream. It has a smooth, creamy butter that comes on the side. Anyone can easily eat ten before the main course comes out. Those biscuits are so yummy you will be too full to eat your main course. So just eat two if you can control yourself.
