Jimenez y Friends Barbecue y Taqueria

We flew in from Utah for a football game and decided to try these guys for breakfast. They are only open till 2 pm. We talked to the owner, Michael, what a stud. We had the best breakfast we've EVER had! It was incredible! Can't wait to try the lunch menu.

Lots to say here! Visiting from Houston and wanted to see some of Lubbock bbq. Jimenez popped up on some social medias and I decided to give it a try. Food was amazing! Tried a couple burritos and tacos. Flavor was great and the pricing on the menu seemed extremely reasonable. Definitely will be in line tomorrow morning to try all the meats. Smaller location with limited parking but everyone was in and out quick! 10/10 would recommend if you’re visiting the area.

We decided to stop here on our visit to Lubbock and it was a great choice! My husband said the picadillo is the best he’s ever had, and that is saying a lot! The rice and beans were some of the best we have ever had as well. I had the three amigos plate with chips and salsa. It was very good and the chips were perfectly crisp and salted. The salsa is nice and spicy. I wanted to try some of the baked goods and definitely will next time. The guy taking our order was extremely nice and professional. Place was clean. Food was out fast. Only thing you need to know is there is a small parking lot that’s hard for big trucks to get in, and there is no seating inside. We wound up parking somewhere and eating our food on the tailgate of my husbands truck, which was fine as it was good weather. We are already talking about returning here next time we visit our son in Lubbock!

Really nice people, clean store, rice was good but wasn't a big fan of the tortillas or carne guisada, it was pretty salty, I will return to try the barbacoa, wasn't available today..

We ordered barbacoa plate and a few carne guisada burritos. The food was hot and absolutely delicious. We’re from South Texas and currently live out of state. We had high expectations for Jimenez and really needed a good fix! I’m telling you- this is the good stuff. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our order was out quickly and we brought it back home to eat. The space is take out only and they were super busy on a post holiday weekend and still great service and quality. I have a pic attached- but it’s only after I had started eating- so the portions were originally larger than shown. I can’t wait to come back again!

Excellent breakfast tacos, burritos, & brisket. I can vouch for the Ranchero Taco (added bacon) and the El Chino. Additionally, the barbacoa burrito with potatoes and beans was my favorite thing I tried. I thought the El Chino would be a little more spicy, but the flavor was great. I arrived at 9:30am on a Sunday to an empty parking lot, but within seconds there were six other cars, so I ran inside to beat the rush. I definitely want to try the pastries when I return. They looked delicious.

Love this place. Marcus and Frank are so welcoming and hook us up every time. This is one of those places where the food warms my soul. I recommend the smothered burrito with guisada. Their smoked turkey is bomb, too! I think it’d be next level if one day they had a dining space for folks to sit and eat.

Awesome brisket. Great breakfast burrito. Nice staff. Clean front and back. Wish I had tried bakery items, they look great. Take out only, no tables.

This place is EPIC. Sometimes you feel as though you are just ordering from a place that GETS YOU. That's exactly how I felt at Jimenez y Friends in Lubbock. I loved all the wonderful options that they had. Getting the taco plate and substituting for the pork belly, barbacoa, and brisket was a top 5 decision of my life! Apart from the wonderful food, I had an excellent experience getting recommended the favorites of each of the staff members! It is such a cute and cozy place as well. I love supporting local businesses and when they are just THIS good, it's so easy to make the trip over to Jimenez y Friends.

saw a lot about the brisket breakfast taco, but it's only sold on the weekend as a heads up i opted for a lemon empanada and la boracha bfast taco. the lemon empanada was soooo delicious. the crust was soft, buttery and smooth while the inside was not too tart. the taco however was a bit too messy for me. the corn tortilla was great along w the egg, but overall it was not groundbreaking. the service was amazing however!!!

Food and service were really great! Nice spot for a quick grab and go option. The carne guisada burrito w potatoes and cheese is delish! Tortillas are soft and buttery, so good!

First time and I'm really glad I found this place. Great burritos and sweet bread. I'm glad I don't live in Lubbock because I would gain some extra weight. I will visit again soon...

Stop here for some amazing bkft tacos & stellar service! It's to-go only, but no factor. The La Borracha Taco add Bacon & the El Cochino Taco add Potato were both superb. The El Cochino had a nice little bite to it, and both were packed with flavors. The fried egg was cooked perfectly on both. I'm sure I'll find my way back here for breakfast in another day or two while I'm still in town.

Smothered burrito was the best and the carne Asada fries was massive and delicious. Can't wait to try the barbecue next.

Best tacos in Lubbock, plus barbacoa and big red on Saturdays. 10/10 best tacos in lbk would recommend.

From the guys taking your order, till your first bite of your breakfast taco.. everything was amazing! There is not a seating area so you do need to take it to go but that will not stop you from eating in your vehicle like we did! The taste is amazing! Worth every penny!

In town visiting and our first time trying this place based on good reviews and photos. The customer service and food did NOT disappoint , it was all amazing! Definitely gonna be our go to spot every time we're in town.

Jimenez, mexican barbecues is not brisket. I was very disappointed the meat had smoked ends it didn't taste right.

Flavorful tacos with tender meat. I really like keeping it simple with meat and rice or potatoes. Delicious!

The customer service was great. Breakfast burritos were good. The Pan dulce, on the other hand, was amazing! It was very soft, melts in your mouth. It's a small establishment but it's very neat and clean. I recommend you stop on in and give it a try.

Stopped in for a breakfast burrito and was not disappointed. I am from out of town and always crave authentic breakfast burritos when I come to town. This is a hidden gem! Everything from the service to the food was top notch!

My wife and I started our 6 year anniversary off right by finally getting to try Jimenez Tortilleria y Taqueria. It is some of the best Mexican food we've ever had! So delicious! We got the Smothered Burrito with Carne Guisada topped with a Fried Egg and a side of Chips and Salsa, also a La Borracha Speciality Taco. For dessert we had the lemon empanada and a Big Red to drink. If you're craving amazing Mexican food, this is where it's at!

WOW WOW WOW! It was love at first bite. The philthy taco is top notch along with La jefa taco the egg was a delicious touch! Now the carne, guisada burrito was really good not that big, you could have 2 if you are really hungry. The service was Amazing so kind and very patient with new customers explained the whole menu for us. My overall experience was excellent! 10/10 coming for more!

I first tried this place a couple months back when I tried the brisket nachos.. heaven on earth. I kid you not I woke up from dreams about these nachos. I finally had the opportunity to visit lubbock again and this is the first place I went. straight to the nachos!! unfortunately they didn't have brisket nachos. so I opted for another meat choice that was still yummy. both of the employees behind the counter were lovely and friendly, seriously the most friendliest customer service I have ever experienced. hopefully I can come back again soon to have their nachos again!!

I came here based on the raving reviews and let me tell you it did not disappoint!!! The staff is extremely friendly and has great recommendations if you don't know what to pick. The smothered burrito with Carne Guisada and asada tacos were phenomenal. A perfect place to grab breakfast or lunch. I didn't even have time to snap a picture because it was that good!

Heaven. Some of the tacos i have eaten outside of the Valley. And these guys do some mean work on the smoker. I had some brisket and ribs that were off the chart. If Aaron Franklin from the world famous Franklins BBQ in Austin were siiting down with a plate of these guys ribs he would be crying like a baby over how damn good they were. In fact i think these guys should change the name of the joint to Jemenez Heavenly Tortilleria and Taco because their has to be an angel somewhere to make food this good.

GREAT BURRITO...BEST IN LUBBOCK. FAMILY RUN AND OWNED. Man, I couldn't believe the taste. You can order off their extensive menu or do like I did, order how you want it. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Everything...The kitchen sink. HUGE Burrito with real authentic home-made hot sauce. This thing was SO Huge, I ended up putting the last 1/3 of it on a saucer and eating it with a spoon. What a delicious treat. And speaking of treats, there is a good variety of Fresh Baked breads, cookies, sweets to choose from too. One of the owner/managers came out from the back to great me and ensure that I was filled in with all they had to offer. Don't let the small parking lot run you off, heck, park next door; you won't regret it. Good food and great service also if u want Mexican bread they have it. Breakfast is the best
