Love this place. First time there. Have always wanted to go, just never made it. Very loud, but didn't bother us. Wish it was set up a little bit differently, so the people in the front part of the restaurant could enjoy the band in the back. Service was great. Food was amazing, especially the walnut bread pudding...... to die for.

We always wanted to stop and eat, and finally did last week. First off, it’s an awkward entry- you walk right into the bar area and we didn’t see a host or server until we made our way into the dining area. Booths and tables, plenty of seating but kinda dark but might’ve been due to dusk. We were greeted then by a server who said take any table, so we took one of the cleaned booths. Menus arrived and took our drink order. We ordered an app to start and mixture of chili, salads and sandwiches, including the torta and chicken ciabatta club. Also server asked us if we wanted refills and we finished our food. All tasty and healthy portions. Their menu isn’t cheap and we realized that quickly and anticipated a big bill. Unfortunately what we didn’t expect was to get charged for every refill the server asked us if we wanted and never mentioned that refills weren’t free like most places. That added nearly $10 to the bill which would’ve been a nice courtesy to let us know ahead of time. We won’t go broke, but at the same time that seems a bit disingenuous to ask for to refill a beverage and not alert guests. Still all in all, good food.

Sent with a friend on a Friday. Ordered the vegetarian pizza and the hummus plate. Pizza was hot and delicious. Thin crust. The servers care about the guests so check on the table often. Place is clean. Would definitely go again.

Nice local place, very clean and comfortable. They are genuinely happy to see you, it does not have the soulless corporate chain vibe at all. Food is a level up from what you may expect, smoked steak sandwich was terrific. A ton of TVs so always a good view. Kids menu was appreciated. Only request - please add an NA beer option.

Classic bar food. Service was great! Plenty of tvs for watching games of all kinds.

Cream of chicken & rice soup was full of chicken and hint of lemon. Mac daddy burger was a mess but in a good way, solid burger cheesy mac & cheese and tots were crispy. CBLT had crispy and juicy chicken and fries were good,not great. Definitely go back, especially with outdoor seating. Need to try a pizza next time

The service was great and the burgers were freaking delicious. The portion size was HUGE. The buffalo wings were awesome too!!

We had a party of eight there yesterday while our wives were attending a nearby bridal shower. Jenny did a wonderful job taking care of us, appreciate Nicki saving a table for us. Pizza and beer were perfect for our afternoon. First time that I’ve been there, would definitely go back when in the area. Highly recommend.

Talk about a hidden gem! Jimmy D's sits in Arlington Heights - a Northwestern burb of Chicago. Having a heavy Greek influence, Jimmy Ds was started by Demetrios "Jimmy D" Demarakis, after he migrated to America from a small village in Greece back in 1968. In 1986, Jimmy D's was born. Food & drinks I tried: Buffalo mac & cheese Cream of chicken with rice soup The Mac Daddy Burger with Greek Fries Apple Walnut bread pudding Espresso martini Mapleberry breeze The Mac Daddy Burger deserves respect lol It comes with their boom boom sauce, mac & cheese, fried onions, bacon and sliced jalapeños on a brioche bun! The buffalo mac & cheese truly surprised me. It's covered with an ale cheese sauce that is full of flavor and on top, there are buffalo chicken crisps! So good! The Greek Fries were my other favorite! It has a roasted garlic aioli, crumbled feta and oregano. I could eat an entire plate of it with no problem! On Fridays and Saturdays in the evening, there is live music but outside of the live music, the environment is lively, the service from everyone was pleasant and attentive, and there are TVs everywhere, like literally! I can totally see why this place is a neighborhood favorite and if you visit, you'll understand why too! Stop by and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!

My overall rating for just the food is just a four. For the atmosphere, it's more for drinking. I feel since most people on here say it's loud. I think it's best to go during opening hours rather than their busiest hours if you're searching for a quieter area to eat. I really like the view that they have on the corner of the street. You can see all the cars drive-by with the big windows they have. This area has more of a vibe to drink and socialize more than anything, while also watching sport games. What you see in the pictures I posted is the Buffalo chicken wrap with the mozzarella cheese sticks. Five stars on tater tots. Really enjoyed the food! I have to come back when busy, to check it out.

Visited here for MNF, was not packed at all for football, had tunes playing on the speakers, enough tv's to watch from anywhere you sit. Dipped the nacho combo in the soup, game changer!!! They are both great on its own but together!!! Salad was refreshing! $3 domestic bottles Would re-visit for there burgers.....

Neighborhood sports bar. Very homely feel. OK to bring family (I visited during the day, not sure how it is at night). Used to be close to the race track in Arlington Heights. Still there but the Park is gone ‍. Anyway, food exceeded expectations. For a sports bar of course, this is not a fine dining place.

We love Jimmy D's. Arlington Heights staple. The staff is incredible, and so easy going. This place is incredibly kid friendly. We frequent this place quite a bit and are big fans. If you're looking for a chill night out of the house - go to Jimmy D's. Food is always good too.

Awesome menu that delivers. I ordered the sweet chili wings that were an order of 8. Good sized wings that had a balanced sauce. Burgers were huge and cooked perfectly, as I often get a medium burger when ordering medium rare. Service was friendly but at times couldn't access my server easily as they would disappear for long periods of time. Also hate when drinks are empty. Finally, interior is a nice local sports bar. I will be back.

Dear Jimmy D's, We cheated on you today to go try the bird's nest for lunch. I'm eating the buffalo wrap right now & it pales in comparison to yours. Whoever reads this, don't go to Bird's nest to "see if it's good." Instead, just keep going to Jimmy D's, where the service is great & the food is always delicious. Again, we're sorry we cheated on you to try Bird's Nest. We love you Jimmy D's. Sincerely, The people with the small children & the grandparents that come in all the time.

Sorry - not thrilled with this. When we first arrived it was virtually empty. It was quiet and we were able to enjoy conversing. Then the game started I understand that people go to bars to watch games, drink, and socialize. It wasn't what we wanted nor expected when we chose Jimmy D's. The food was okay. I will give them kudos for their tater tots, though.

driven past a thousand times, received a facebook invitation for $10 off a $20 lunch so i dropped in today. never been there before, showed the BT the facebook offer, she wasn't sure how it worked, which is fair. I assumed it would be $10 off a $20 purchase, so i ordered a nice sandwich and soup which was $21 before tax. soup was great, sandwich was delicious and fresh. Asked for the bill, $23.86? it turns out, you get a $10 card after you spend $20+ which is cool, just would have been nice to know. as a side note, if you sit at the bar, be aware regulars have designated unmarked seats they demand when they arrive. Again, just a little quirk but made me laugh. dont want to upset the natives!

So, the server DID warn us that the kitchen was backed up, and she apologized again at the end and thanked us for our patience. But this was all very strange, as there were only a couple other tables of guests in the whole restaurant. And it took about an hour for 8 meals to come out. The food was all pretty good, but also a little cold.

The food and service are amazing. It's a great neighborhood restaurant and bar, that is great for families.

Good: Food is quality. Lots of great options especially Grecian sausage and the wings. Bad: frustrating on a couple of levels. First off the kitchen supposedly closes at 10. It's happened multiple times where we are told kitchen is closed please call ahead. Arrived around 950, tried calling when we were on our way but got busy signal 3 times. The phones were not exactly ringing off the hook when we got there so I'm not sure what happened there. Tried ordering online and it wasn't turned on supposedly. Then we sat down at 950 at the bar and when we asked if kitchen was open one bartender said yes and the other gave her a look and started shaking her head. That tells me they didn't want to make anything. Been here many times and spent lots of money. Always leave great tips. Frustrating that this was the service we received.

Great local bar with one of my favorite local food items. Space is small so I prefer to only visit for lunch or during a sports game vs when they have a band inside. They have set up a nice outdoor patio this year that we had the chance to catch some drinks on. If you are a fan of Greek food the Chicken Pita with fries is amazing and full of flavor! Ask them to make your fires Greek style for an extra kick!

Had a fundraiser yesterday at Jimmy Ds. It was so generous of Pete the owner to donate his bar and food. They could not be kinder! The food is great and my fundraiser was a great success. I'm forever a customer and highly recommend Jimmy Ds for great food and drinks.

Delicious food. We ordered pizza. Wow! Chilli. Double wow! Cheese curds, best ever and that's a lot coming from a table of cheese heads. Don't walk run! Great food.

The VERY VERY LOUD screaming outdoor music/ bands every weekend from this place needs to stop! Close windows and still here it!! Do they not realize there are homes/ residential area in back! Take your venue elsewhere, Have some respect to others that need sleep and peace of mind on weekends!

Went for a burger a couple months back and did not enjoy the regular burger but decided to give it another try with a bunch of friends today. I can say I changed my mind. We tried the Mac Daddy burger, Buffalo wings, greek fries and the humus plate. All to die for!!! Chill sports bar, they have quite a few TVs. Service is good too. Waitresses checked on us a few times. I can say my friends all enjoyed their food as well.

Ordering for pickup should be an easy process, however not with Jimmy D's. On their website you are routed to a 3rd party for online orders that will only accept Apple Pay (for macs), and Google pay for others. That's it. No credit cards. You don't even have an option to call the restaurant directly to order. The phone number listed under contact us is a cell number stating the call cannot be answered. There are many good burger places in Arlington Heights. Since Jimmy D's makes it so difficult to place a simple order, I am taking my business elsewhere.

Jimmy D's is the definition of great service, high quality bar food and top notch drinks. Usually bar food is meh for me, and this is the best menu of bar options and consistent high quality compared to any other bar. From pizzas, salads to sandwiches, to soup and the best wings and apps to bartenders whipping up your faves. This place is consistently amazing. They just started offering brunch too on Sunday's and the brunch drinks and food just add to the amazing options and all around YUM at Jimmy D's. The owner makes sure every customer is happy and taken care of. Highly recommend !!

Good food. Friendly service. I liked the ambiance too. We went here for a Thursday night Bears game. We had a few burgers and nachos. All the food was very good. I'd go back there if I was in the area. We were there because my son had a tryout in the area.

Another small update- Jimmy D's now has new larger HD TV's for your pleasure in watching the big game. The night that we were there recently they had one of the TV's on the NFL Red Zone channel which was insane watching as many as 6 game highlight reel worthy plays at the same time. I'd advise you to check it out if you haven't yet.

This isn't the first time this has happened, I kept my receipt. Clearly wrote in the tip amount and total and they charge my credit card more. Just beware

They have totally transformed this place since the remodel many years ago. Now it's a cool bar to come to for beers and watching the game. The bartenders are friendly, the food is good and it's a great location if you want a few drinks before or after going to Arlington Race Track (which is across the street.)

I have been coming here forever, as we live in the neighborhood. It's always clean and the food is consistently great. I love the options on the menu, as it's not overwhelming, yet plenty to decide on with picky eaters. Pizza is great. The buffalo chicken wrap is my go to item. Love love the martinis. All the employees, especially the owner, is always happy to talkative. Lucky to have this establishment near me.

Have been here many times pre and during covid. They are maintaining social distancing policies and staff are in masks. They also have outdoor dining available. Our go-tos are Grecian Sausage, Chips and Guac, and Roasted Corn and Bacon pizza. They always have drink specials and occasionally live bands!

This was definitely more of a drinking place than a nice dining experience place. The person who sat us I believe was owner/manager, right after we were sat he was sitting at the bar, looked like he was drinking? Once he sat back down the bartender and him started cracking up laughing for whatever reason. Not professional whatsoever. Music was blaring, which made for zero conversation. It was understandable why all the tables were empty but the bar was full. Will not be returning.

I remember years and years ago when this was a dive, but a cool dive. Now, it's been redone and has not lost its charm. Great service and a place to hide out if you missed your Metra train from Arlington Park.

Great neighborhood bar with awesome food choices! I went on a Thursday and had Jamie as my bartender. She was very friendly and always made sure I had a beer in my hand. Great place... I will definitely be back!!!!

Best bar food in town. Highly recommend the Grecian sausage, sliders and chicken wings. No other bar even comes close. Great ambiance and friendly servers. We go once a week.

Good spot in Palatine for drinks and a meal. Casual spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The peach Moscow mule is a must try!

Burgers were great. Had the Egg burger along with chicken tenders / fries appetizer. Service was prompt and courteous. Nice beer selection.

Great place!!!! This was my first time coming and I may have found my new favorite place. Monday's are my night out and it was perfect!! I'll be back with some friends. The owner and bartender were super nice which makes a place!

If you are ok with paying 10.00 for a Bloody Mary on a Sunday with house vodka and no chaser then go for it. That's insane!!

New menu is great! We had 4 adults and 6 kids and everyone loved their food. Kids meals come with a cookie :) All of the adults entrees were outstanding - buffalo chx wrap was huge, i had a handmade black bean burger with fresh guac and chicken pita is delicious. They also have great apps. Service is incredible. We always leave happy!

We stopped in for a quick drink on the way home. Seems like a pretty chill spot. Decor is interesting but nice. From the outside i thought it was going to be a dive (which i like) but its not. The bartender was nice. The few patrons that were there on a wednesday after 11pm were fairly obnoxious tool types. Kitchen was closed but i'd be willing to stop in some time and grab a bite and a round.

Love this place. I had my daughters 30th surprise party here. The owner was very helpful with helping me plan the party. The food was great and there was plenty of food. The bartenders helped me decorate and were always attentive to the guest. I received many complements. My husband and I also visit the bar a lot. Food is very tasty and always great drink specials. Staff is always very nice and personable.

This place is such a surprise! I've driven past this place for almost 20 years without ever stopping in. Finally, my girlfriends and I decided we were going to see what it was all about. So we met here on a Friday night for dinner, drinks, and darts. The only problem I had was that the dart board was located right next to the bar access point. Waitresses were really getting annoyed with us because we were in their line of serving. But other than that, we had a great night. There is a digital jukebox, which we basically controlled all night. Some of the male patrons got a little grabby, but we can handle ourselves. This might become our new regular spot, now that Dirty Nellie's has gone to the overpriced dogs.

Being a friendly neighbor to this bar, Im glad this is my local bar than most out there. Im close enough were I walk home but cant throw a rock at it. Out of all the times I have visited here, sober, buzzed, blacked I never eaten here...After watching the Hawks loose badly I figured I might as well break the seal. Menu is a pretty typical bar food w/ some greek choices. I decided to go w/ the "most popular chicken pita" it was something like that, whole point its so cliche when places call out their infamous sandwich. Its common sense that your best dishes are always on the top of the list... Anyways the chicken pita was simple but cooked perfectly. It came w/ grilled chicken flavoured well and not dried out, red onion, tomato, tzatzzi sauce (spelled wrong, I know im not greek), and loaded w/ feta! Of course fries over salad. The pita was full of flavor with every freakin bite! Fries were just ok, nothing special to them. But the pita sandwich was simple but tasty!! The decor after the remodeling is great. In most cases I go here to catch a sports game which this place has a tv at every angle or to grab a drink before doing something. Every single bartender/waitress is nice and more than willing to go out of there way to make sure everything is ok. Besides that, just a great local neighborhood bar.

Service is good. Window booths are cold and drafty. Food is not bad but $10+ for a burger (w/o additional condiments). They charge extra for a condiment. Yes, a condiment. They call it a topping and compare it to bacon or tomato. I'm just not a fan of cheese on my burger. I requested to omit cheese but, ordered mayo for my tomato and lettuce. They charged me extra for the mayo. And no, they didn't reduce the bill for no cheese even when I questioned the mayo charge. Hello.

Jimmy D's has great food and drinks. The service is also great. This was our Friday night spot over the summer. There was great live music and plenty of food choices for adults and kiddos alike. Samantha was usually our server and made great drink recommendations. We love coming here and are lookimg forward to the new menu!

Peter and the crew are first rate. Jimmy D's generously co-hosted a charity golf outing last weekend. It absolutely phenomenal and the food was perfect for the after-party during the Bears game. Peter's generosity and heart for the Arlington Heights community sets this establishment apart from anything else in the area.

Great food, service, and atmosphere! My friends and I go here all the time and we have never been disappointed! I would recommend this bar to everyone! P.S. try the Greek sausage! :) It is amazing!

I have visited this place twice in one week! Yummy food, great drinks, good atmosphere to watch sports! Potato skins were delicious! Gummi Bear Martini refreshing! Mini burgers are good & the mini chicken sandwiches were yummy as well! Chicken Philly sandwich was very good. Jukebox, booth seating, table seating & bar seating. Plenty of parking as well!

Came here for st. Patrick's day and the band was horrible. Thought it was karaoke for the first twenty minutes.not happy!! Food looked good though.
