"Demetrios “Jimmy D” Demarakis, the founder of Jimmy D’s, was the epitome of the American dream. Born in a small village in Greece, he moved to the U.S. in the ’60s to build a better life for his family. He fell in love with Arlington Heights and decided to open his own restaurant there in 1986. While his son took over when he passed in 2013, the spot still maintains its same warmth, hospitality, and dedication to good food and drink.
