I normally go for breakfast on Saturdays and I have to say the waitresses are so sweet and nice. Billy (the owner) takes a few minutes to come to my table to say hello. The bottom line is this is the place to go. Will never go anywhere else. I love this place ❤

The food was good. I had eggs and pancakes (AMAZING, no matter how you like your pancakes you're going to love these) and cornbeef hash...so good. Hospitality was amazing, and all the customers were friendly! Great morning bestie time!

The food comes fresh and hot delivered to your residence or work direct from the diner. Delivery driver professional deserves a 20% tip in my personal opion even though the tip needs to be in cash not permitted to place on credit or debit card by management's instructions when ordering

I had breakfast there last Saturday scramble eggs an home fries it was very good plus I took out one breakfast order to pancakes 🥞 with bacon 🥓 it was very reasonable with everything plus two coffee's only 21.95 not bad. Well that's it stay safe an in this summer weather stay cool 😎.

Last Saturday in August on a lovely patio with a gracious server and even a water bowl for the dog. Real Italian food. Delicious, so,so tasty!

This is a review for the breakfast time. Went there for breakfast. Such a cute cozy place. It is not big but very pleasant. The service was lovely. Coffee, eggs, sausage are delicious and fresh. Reasonably priced. Will visit again.

I would have given this place 4 stars but service wasn't that great. Cute place with a nice menu and decent prices . They brought out my breakfast but then manager came over to say they messed up my friends omelette . Over 25 minutes later they brought hers out. By then mine was cold as you feel bad eating when the other person has no food. The right thing to do would have been to not charge us for the omelette , but nope full check . Sorry that's just wrong. Not impressed and definitely not the right was to treat customers .

Love coming here. It's the perfect local diner to go too. The owner is so kind. They make good classic diner food!

Avoid this place at all cost, the food and service is horrible. Check your food before you leave this so called dinner because your get jipped . A small soup comes in a small cup of coffee yeah not in a small container like most places. That small cup will run you 4.00 dollars,, not worth it. No surprise they got my order wrong ,,,not even going to get into that conversation. Needless to say that I will never go back to jimmy s place again.

Take out review: Got two chicken wraps to go. Easy time placing order and food was ready quickly. Staff was friendly. The wraps were delicious and perfectly cooked. Fries were fresh and crispy. Able to sub out fries for soup which was tasty as well. Restaurant itself has plenty of indoor seating with 2 TVs so you can watch the game etc. Highly recommend and will be back!

Went there to dine in today. Order all the time. Asked for onion rings instead of French fries with my burger. They brought French fries. Waited like 10 minutes for a waitress to come back over. Diner was not busy at all they were all on there cell phones. Started to eat my burger cause I was starving. Finally a waitress came over explained the situation and she said she needed to take back the fries to not charge me for them. Literally took the plate out from under me as I held the burger. Then threw the plate of French fries in the garbage right next to me. So rude I will never go there again. Then they bring me onion rings that are so burnt my dog won't even eat them.

Ordered delivery via grub hub. Apparently no one felt like making my omelette so they slapped a few strips of bacon on an omelette with more egg whites than anything else. If I wanted to make my own omelette and sat here chopping up bacon, I wouldn't have ordered. Threw it in the garbage. Waste of my time and money. My sister in law just opened up her food after being out shoveling to find that her sausage egg and cheese on a bialy was a platter with link sausage. Absolutely disgusting. Why support local if they don't even know what they're doing.

Jimmy's Diner is convenient. Food is not bad. Service is good. The waitresses are hard working, lovely young ladies. My problem is with the owner. Accepts credit/debit cards for payment. Cannot leave a TIP on credit/debit cards for waitresses. I say unfair employment practice. Lucrative for owner, detrimental to the worker's income. Most depend on tips, they lose out this way

THIEF!!!!! My brother and I have been buying gift certificates to Jimmy's for almost 2 decades for our now 95 year old grandfather. He lost his wife decades ago and it was a way for him to get a hot meal prepared for him. Our grandfather was a regular customer. Every holiday we would but a $50 gift certificate...father's day, birthday, christmas, etc. Over the years we've probably spent close to $1000...My mom brought my grandfather in with $175 left on the gift certificate a few months ago the owner said he won't honor the gift certificates anymore because they were from 2012. There was No expiration date and he had no problem taking our money ahead of time and now doesn't want to honor it. Terrible customer service and an absolute THIEF!!!

Came to this emptied diner on a week night. Nothing to rave about, the table booths and chairs are old and filled with holes. Menu selections was pretty extensive from the regular breakfast combos to wraps, paninis, and burgers. Ordered a Chicken Quesadilla and a Grilled Steak sandwich both comes with soup or salad. Food tastes mediocre can't remember anything special about it. Waitress walked by once to the table to give me some napkins. Price is average for diner fare.

Jimmy's is one of the few great, last standing diners/restaurants in the area. Great portions, reasonably priced & super friendly staff. Awesome food, even more so their breakfasts - I am a big home-fries lover and their home-fries are the best in the neighborhood. Classic, delicious, finger-licking diner food. Long time family owned and operated with love!

Diners are a dime a dozen in New York City. Jimmy's Place is no different than any other diner. It has the same salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. While it's convenient to get to, it's just another diner.

One of the best diners ive been too ! Im picky with my diners too but always love this one. Great food great staff ! Always clean and the wait for the food is never long !

This place is an average diner. I've been here twice. The waitress is very nice. The first time I went, I got the grilled chicken sandwich: it was average and the chicken was burnt. It took a while for us to get our food. Overall, it was an okay meal. A 2-3 star experience. For dessert, I split a piece of cheesecake with my boyfriend and it was amazing. Diner cheesecake is always the best. Today I went to get a lox & cream cheese bagel. I was very surprised. It was about $9 and came with lettuce, tomato, onion, cream cheese and A LOT of lox...A lot more than I have seen on other bagels. I couldn't eat it as a sandwich because there was so much! Definitely not complaining, though. The bagel was amazing and I will be back for another one!

I've been a "Jimmys" customer since he ran the old Bensonhurst Donut Shop on the corner. He is often here atbthe counter. The waitresses are grrat. Fave dishes: GYRO! Lumberjack with Challah french toast Any Omelette And his Jimmys Burger.

I have to say this place is really off the track!! I told them my wings is burn waitress said oh this is how to cook make it!! Veal Marsala pasta? This is a pork chop!!! Definitely not veal!! And the most easy cook bacon is all dry and burn!!! I can't find any place worst than this.

Used to come here fairly regularly, until one early Sunday afternoon when I arrived & sat down only to be ignored for a half hour & subsequently got up and walked out. That's ok, if they didn't want my business, I was perfectly content to take it elsewhere.

I like jimmys place always clean and fast seating when booths are available, the breakfast is always good not a real fan of their pancakes but the waffles are pretty good , service is always good they give you a few minutes to see what you like , always a smile on the servers face and the refills on coffee always fast which is great , the food always comes out hot never had an issue on being serviced cold food , I always go back I got to try lunch next time.

Dont even deserve one star waited in line for seats when there were uncleaned tables. Then waited for 45 mins for two baked ziti and have four hungry kids waiting also. Sizes change tremendously if i knew it changed i would've got three plates. Its not my first time here so i know if theres a change and they denied it. The russian waitress was super disrespectful and said they are making out of scratch at in a rude way.

If I could, I'd give 0 or at best 1/2 star. This place is only good if you literally have no where else to go or order from. They ALWAYS get your order wrong. Bacon comes raw, missing key components, or just not good. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered egg w cheese and not receive cheese yet get charged for it. Or make specifications to an order and it goes out the window, like asking for bacon well done or hash well done and both come raw. Who eats it like that??? On all the cooking shows they go on and on about how bacon should be served and this place would fail over and over. It's sad. Especially how sick someone can get from uncooked pork. So. Today was the last straw. Ordered bacon egg and cheese and potatoes and eggs with onions and peppers, which I have to ask for or I'll literally just get potatoes and eggs on a roll. I also asked for butter on my roll. The owners dad, I'm guessing since he's been there as of lately, informs me they always put butter when I asked the order be repeated back to me and made no mention of the butter in my order. I said okay, just wanted to make sure there's butter on my roll. Btw he also made it more than clear it was an inconvenience that I ask for the order to be repeated back to me. Upon delivery. I get a bacon egg and cheese with what must be one egg bc it was barely visible. Usually its a huge sandwich with 2-3 eggs. He must be making decisions on how many eggs he feels a sandwich needs. But of course! My potatoes and eggs had no butter and barely any eggs. Why should I have to go in my fridge to put butter on the sandwich I've ordered. Really. Of course it was a problem that I let it be known and quite frankly idgaf bc you're running a business I'm your customer placed an order the customer is always right and if not you lose business and gain nothing but negative word of mouth. Let's just say papa bear wasn't too happy with what I had to say and told me not to order from them anymore lololololololololol Guarantee this place will be gone within a few short years. Can't imagine it thriving between lack of customer service and horrible food. There isn't anything I'd recommend to anyone bc nothing is good. Mediocre, at best.

Great for a diner breakfast. Super clean and always very nice waitresses. It's the best diner in this vicinity/neighborhood. Remember, it's a diner so I would not order certain items off of the menu, i.e.: baked ziti (I read the "1" Star review); however for typical diner items (basic breakfast, grilled cheese sandwich) the place suffices.

We stopped in for a quick bite to eat before a doctors appointment. Never had been here before, just chose it for location. Service was ok, food was good. I had a turkey burger and my husband had a bacon cheeseburger. Mine was juicy and flavorful, his was cooked exactly as he asked.

For a diner their breakfast foods are delicious. Usually get 2 scrambled eggs with sausage and home fries and they always nail it. Another favorite is the chicken parm wrap with french fries. Only down side is that some days the orders arent as good as other. Dont know if they have two cooks so it is kind of a hit and miss situation with them.

Jimmy's Place has been around Dyker Heights for a long time. My grandmother used to buy their doughnuts quite frequently and I can't imagine how many times I'd been there with her growing up. Not too long ago, they moved into a newly renovated space a couple of doors down from where they used to be and it became more of a diner and less of a take-away place. With a pretty wide variety of items offered on their menu, and a friendly staff and good prices, this is a reliable and fun choice on 13th Avenue. I have gone a few times for breakfast recently and everything is good. The pancakes kind of taste like doughnuts (as pointed out by my friend visiting from California), but I don't mind that. They have great omelets and sides also and their lunch and dinner menu is extensive and looks typical for a diner, but the prices are reasonable and I should go and try it. Of course, there are free refills on the coffee, and the wait staff is friendly and welcoming. You can tell this place is frequented and well-liked by many locals, so it's kind of a novelty to me since I miss being around the Old Brooklyn type of people sometimes. Brooklyn needs more old-fashioned diner type places like this.

Ok went here for late sunday dinner. Place was empty. Ordered the cheeseburger i asked the waitress to pls make it medium also oredered the shrimp scampi. Ok so heres why 1 star. I waited 40 min. And asked waitress if food is coming ??? She seemed anoid and came back said 1 min. It took another 10 min. I get the most tiny burger and a very small portion shrimp scampi with 2 shrimp sliced in half so it can look like i have 4. The burger was super well done. Obviously if it was cooking for 50 min. I returned it the waitress ran to owner he didnt care. Long story short i went to macdonalds and ate big burgers compared to jimmys. And ended up paying 22$for the tiny scampi portion. Will never waste my time or money here again

Classic Old Fashioned Neighborhood Diner. They had many regulars coming and going. The best part however was the counter and swivel stools

Gave us really dried pancakes and when I asked to have them replaced, I was told no since no one else had complained about them. Apparently, it was my taste buds' fault. So go if you like saving money on the tip, since the waitresses there clearly don't care about taking care of the customer.

This is a local diner in the area. The service here was was okay, got frequent refills on the coffee. The panini sandwiches were a bit dry and a bit bland. The fries were very ordinary, nothing too special. Omelettes were pretty decent as well. I've had better experience with other diners, so this one was just only ok. Good to go to because it's nearby, but if I could choose I'll go to another diner further away.

Okay, I had to edit my review from yesterday after having a really horrible meal from here. I don't know what happened - the first time I visited this place I thought it was great. Then every following visit it seemed to get worse and worse - mostly, I really didn't like the staff. Talk about unfriendly and bare bones service. Need a refill on your water or some more hot water for you tea? Forget about them ever visiting your table again after they drop off your food - you'll have to flag them down. I had wanted some tea with my meal and saw they had some herbal teas lined up behind the counter, I couldn't see what the boxes said, so I asked the waitress if she could tell me. She turned around read me 3 of the 8 box labels. WTH? I ordered a chicken cutlet wrap - which caused some confusion in itself. I asked for the chicken cutlet wrap, the waitress corrected me "the chicken parm". Confused, I said again "no, the chicken cutlet wrap" like it was listed on the menu. She insisted it was chicken parm, whatever. Same thing I suppose. I have never had to spit food out at a restaurant. But that's exactly what happened as a took a bite and chewed on some tough chicken. I thought at first it must be undercooked. I checked some of the chicken pieces, and they seemed cooked all the way through. Bad chicken, old chicken? I'm not sure, but I couldn't finish the meal. Will be looking for another diner.

Why Bother? With so many choices in Dyker Heights / Bay Ridge, its hard to see you spending you hard earned money at this place. Food is sub-par, the service is terrible, and with so many choices in the neighborhood, why bother?

Was thinking two - three but young managers attitude towards customer and staff was deplorable. Also idea of no substitutions when willing to pay is 1970s mentality. Baked potato is $4 didn't want asked for small house salad which was $2.50 would of paid difference. Manager said no then with smirk and attitude said $5.25 I'll do it. Spiteful - for average at best food. We walked out. Don't go.

Honestly I would come here all the time but this is the last!!! I ordered online through DoorDash two bacon egg and cheeses and I received my order without bacon on both of them. So I call and speak to the lady on the phone and she starts yelling at me saying that I did not order bacon on my sandwiches so I then ask to speak to the manager. This is where she puts " Jimmy " on the phone and I explain to him what happened. Jimmy then has the audacity to start yelling at me over the phone asking me what does he want me to do because apparently I didn't order any bacon. The best part is that he didn't even know what DoorDash was when I was explaining that I did pay for it online through their service. How do you add your restaurant to DoorDash and don't even know you have it or have any knowledge on it!? Anyways I tell him that I have the receipt of my order and he continues to yell over the phone that they didn't charge me for the bacon and that I never ordered bacon on my sandwiches. NEVER AGAIN will I be ordering from here or coming to eat here!

My favorite diner in the neighborhood. Eat breakfast here all the time. Service is good and the staff is nice. Old-school diner which I like. Overall great meal.

I've been here before and never had an issue until this weekend. While the food isn't great, its not bad. (I mean it's a diner). I usually come for bfast but came here for lunch this past weekend. We made our order and when it came, it wasn't what we ordered. We told the waitress and she said we're wrong. She looked at her book and said that's what you order. We know what we order and we know we didn't get that because of food allergies. They won't take it back and said if we want it, we'll have to pay extra. Never have I been to a restaurant where they won't replace the food when the waitress made a mistake. Writing this actually made me mad so I'm going to end this here. Let's say I will never be back. By the way, a big F you.

I can't believe we didn't discover this place sooner! We went to look at the Dyker Christmas lights this week and found Jimmy's Place. Yummy food, family vibe, clean, quaint diner decor. They were so nice to the kids. We'll definitely be back.

Our go to place for breakfast on Saturday mornings and Lunch some days we are lazy. The wait staff is always attentive to our needs and the food is delicious. Great spot for a quick bite.

I was nicely greeted by a lovely waitress and she deserves 5 stars for being so friendly. Then it went downhill... I ordered a chicken gyro to go. The owner took over my order, lectured me about tipping people, even showed me where to put the tip because I was paying with a credit card. Seriously?!?! No thanks, that was way too condescending. The gyro was absolutely boring and tasteless. Consisted of dry French fries on the side, dry chicken in a pita, some fake tzaziki (aka mayo with some cucumber). Very disappointing.

You don't expect much from this sort of places. However, it is pretty decent diner with cheap breakfast and AWESOME veggie burger

Jimmy's is a decent little diner. The food is ok, but be wary of coming or ordering when they have a full house. The small kitchen (staffed by 2 and that's all it can fit) can't keep up when they're at capacity, forget about delivery and to-go orders. I waited over an hour for my food and they had customers that left their seats because of the wait. It doesn't help that the staff is completely indifferent and unapologetic about it either.

Okay food, a little expensive, no fresh juice for breakfast, service is always so so. Go up or down the street on a Sunday if you can.

Went yesterday for breakfast with friends . I had the smallest western omelet ever ! Could not have been more than 2 eggs . Had to ask for silverware and napkins since none were given . Very disappointing
