Jim's Famous Charbroiled Burgers

I’m not a fan of burger but i was amazed by their burger. I have passed this place a million times and I finally walked in to try their burger. It was really delicious, I devoured it in seconds. The seasoning, patty, bun, lettuce, onion and tomato are perfectly balancing each other. Only for $5.89, the quality is way beyond Five Guys, in-n-out, and the habit. I will bring my friends and family over for the burgers again.

My mom and dad had their first date back in 1990 or so... 5 years later, they had 3 kids and Introduced us to Jim's Famous burgers-- and we never looked back!!! Thanks, mom and dad! Lovely staff, and the owner has always been kind! Best burgers & zucchini fries ever!!! And they have a ice cream machine!!!

I used to eat at this spot a couple of years ago. Was good , decent prices . Right now a steak sandwich combo $21.... I chose Jim's omelet, $11.99+tax , very "sad" omelet

I knew by the look of the place that they would have great fried zucchini which I saw on the menu. Sure enough, I got a SMALL order, mind you, not a large and I was definitely surprised at how much there was. You can see by the photos. Not only was there a large amount of zucchini but it was very long strips, longest I've ever seen. Thought it would take at least 8-10 minutes to complete the order, but got it within 5 minutes . We also ordered chocolate shakes. The 4 of us agreed, they were wonderful! Very chocolatey, unlike fast food, which always ends up being a lot of vanilla ice cream with very little chocolate sauce. I'm sure the shake had chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce, which for a chocolate lover is heaven . Runs neck to neck with Bun N Burger's fantastic shakes. Cost slightly more but well worth it. When your shakes are heavy to carry, you can assume that they are very creamy and yummy. Lots of variety on menu, something for everyone it seems. Any type of food, from Gyros to Shrimp Tacos, with an tasty sounding Avocado BLT thrown in (ABLT). (Having that next time I'm here♡.) We could smell the onion rings frying from outside and it was very alluring. I believe they serve breakfast all day also. But I digress , I should say a little about the restaurant itself. KInd of vintage interior, diner from the '50s type look. Sparse decor but that lends to the look . Pretty shade of blue, which made it stand out. Very clean. You place & pick up your order at the counter, you may have to stand in line. The line moved quickly when we were there, 2 registers with staff at each. Previously with my disability, I wasn't able to sit without cushion of some sort. Seating here in both chairs & booths is hard, no cushioning, which is the only complaint I have. Decent amount of seating for its location. Located in small center with shops, they're in the corner with shared parking lot. Plenty of parking during the day when we were there. Casual, friendly, polite, both staff & other customers. I think that says a lot about a restaurant, if customers are satisfied, they are smiling & friendly, too. That's all, kiddos, hope it was enough for you! I gotta go take a nap....🤤

Great atmosphere, gruff service , good burgers and fries, not very good breakfast burrito.

So this place is on my way to work and is one of a few of my favorite places to stop at but I do stop here way more often then others.. I have had just about everything on this menu and you can not go wrong.. Turkey sandwich is very filling, the Guro's are great with tons of meat.. Burgers are always perfect (ask for extra crispy on the fries if you love that crunch).. It's usually always got someone there ordering which is why I always call ahead on my way to work and just pick it up.. The breakfast burritos are my go to's for the most part and the guys at my work swear on JIM's BURGERS being the best in town and yeah I have to agree.. Stop by and check them out..

We get catering from here at work often, and it’s always a hit! The food is super fresh, tasty, and there’s something for everyone — even the picky eaters. Everything arrives on time, warm and presented nicely, which makes our lunches way less stressful. Honestly, people get excited when they hear it’s on the menu! If you’re looking for delicious food and great service, definitely give them a try!!

The good ratings got my hopes up, but I left disappointed and a little sick a few hours later. Pastrami sandwich has a lot of meat, but the flavor was non-existent. Fried zucchini looked like it was fried more than once. Tasted burnt. Others had burgers that were OK. Pepsi products a plus. Go to Tops instead.

Great service! Just came here here for a quick bite with my family. Food was amazing and delicious. Employees were quick and helpful. Bathroom was also very clean. Only thing I found wrong was some older men looking at me and my nieces in a weird way. Other than that 10/10

I'm so glad this place is still amazing and clean. My dad passed away years back and this is the place we'd always come to grab a bite. I had a cheeseburger and an ice cream cone & my mom had the fish tacos. It tasted great & brought back so many memories. The owner was super kind & the female cashiers as well. Will continue to come back.

It had been a while since I had a bacon cheeseburger from Jim's. I was surprised when I walked in because it looked a little different. There's new staff, I didn't recognize anyone. The guy taking my order was not friendly. I wasn't greeted. I just ordered, and that was that. My order was ready fairly quickly. There were like 3 other people eating there. My burger was bland. The only good part was the bacon. But other than that, it was as if they didn't season the meat. The fries were a bit soggy, and once again, they were bland. The ranch was okay. It didn't taste like their previous ranch sauce. It's unfortunate because this was one of my fave spots for bacon cheeseburgers.

The food here is excellent, especially the hamburgers and with the fish tacos my mouth is watering. This time I was attended by Maira, excellent service, fast and always smiling, I will be back soon

I just moved into the area and I enjoyed this hole in the wall restaurant. The 1/4 lb. burger and fried zucchini were hot and delicious. Good flavor on the meat and the veggie toppings were fresh. I honestly came here for the fried zucchini because that's what I was craving for. This did not disappoint. Looking to see if there's another place nearby that can compare but so far nothing. The line here can get long though especially during lunch time and after school. Great place in Monrovia for an old school burger. I have yet been able to try anything from here for breakfast or other items. But I will soon!

Hands down. Best cheeseburger I've had in a long time. And the fries were delicious too. They're on par with the fries at Rick's in Pasadena. Definitely would stop here again. I only wish it would've had some pickles on it. That would've been icing on the cake.

You have to try the classic Jim's Burger! They've been around forever and still don't disappoint. Burger patties are thick as hell and I suggest sharing a large fries they fill the paper bags! Our server Maira was really nice, good customer service.

Solid place to grab some fast food. Huge portions, definitely enough to share. We came here maybe 20 minutes before they closed, but they had a good amount of people in there and customer service was friendly enough. We got the double bacon cheeseburger with some fries and a "small" order of onion rings. It was a massive amount of food and more than enough for 3 people to share (we weren't super hungry, but definitely overestimated how much food there was). Burger is filling, meat is juicy, didn't skimp out on the toppings. Solid fries that went great with ketchup. The onion rings are made with real onions but a bit bland and definitely needed some extra seasoning and a lot of ranch. Other than that not bad.

I hate to leave bad reviews, but the ham and cheese sandwich that I had from Jim's tonight was one of the worst things I have ever eaten!!! The cheese was that fake yellow cheese that you buy at the cheap market and the ham was sliced thick!! It had no taste and it was awful!! Worst Valentine's Day dinner I have ever had! Stay away at all costs!! How hard is it to make a grilled ham and cheese sandwich?! If I could leave a zero star I would!! Just gross!! I'm sorry Mr. Jim whomever you are!!

This is my favorite burger spot! Been coming here for years! Food is always amazing! Staff is always great! Maria helped me last and she's always welcoming and friendly.

Love this place. The breakfast burritos, burgers, and fries are the best. And the ice cream is a wonderful treat. Great food, great service! Especially Maira, she is so helpful and friendly.

A very dry patty melt and a small zucchini set me back $18. That's ridiculous. Can you imagine bring a family of 4 here? $100 for a fast food meal? I've been eating here for years. Never again.

I just took my son and his friends to Jim's after baseball practice. Once again, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was spot on. Maira took our order and was very helpful dealing with three 9-year-olds. As always, everybody was more than satisfied, both in taste and by the amount of food. We all left with smiles on our faces. We will definitely be back. If you're looking for delicious charbroiled burgers, I highly recommend Jim's. Also the thick (straight cut) fries are spot on.

Food is absolutely incredible. Been coming here for years , clean atmosphere , good service , good food , food quality and quantity worth the money!

I went in to get ice cream and they told me they broke down the ice cream machine early every night. Not sure why the full menu is not available or why they don't advertise. They don't make it available for the whole night, but I'll never be back.

My husband and I have come here several times for breakfast or lunch, usually to pick up and take out. Maiara has been at the register most times, if not every time, and her service and attention to detail when taking our order is always thorough. The food has been great, and we keep coming back to Jim's. We highly recommend the breakfast burritos--we've tried the steak, chorizo, and pastrami, and all were fantastic.

i love the avocado cheeseburger and zucchini fries here. I really love how they mix the lettuce with their sauce so each bite is slightly sweet in the burger instead of the sauce by itself. I used to always get the chili cheese fries when I was younger, but my age is catching up to me and it is starting to give me heartburn =(. they give huge portions of the fries so always ask for small size because it always fills up the whollle bag. =) Parking is ample. there is a restroom on site. people are always flowing in and out of this place. There is an asian grocery store in the same plaza for you to walk off the heaviness after. =p

I see this place making some improvements. There are now condiments on the tables. The portion sizes are still huge and the service is friendly. If I'm spending $15 on a burger and fries, I'm spending it at Jim's versus other fast food places. Been coming for over 20 years and still tastes the same.

Great old fashioned burgers etc....Has inside and outside seating. Service is fast. Favorite item is the bacon cheeseburger and the fried zucchini. The side orders are very large so don't let the price discourage you. Customer service is excellent.

I'm a big fan of burgers, and I love traveling through the city trying different places. Through some work clients, I was informed that I should try Jim's burgers in Monrovia. Unfortunately, they fell way short. It was your typical hamburger stand burger, but it lacked any type of character or flavor. The people that work there were friendly. I just wish the burger match the service.

Been coming here for years. Love the fried zucchini's here. It's so fresh and the breading isn't thick like other places. The pastrami quesadilla and pastrami chili cheese fries are my new must get items when I go here. Staffs are nice and friendly. Place is clean.

We've been eating at Jim Burger for years but after tonights experience we won't be going back. We walked in to a whole new staff, the guy taking the orders was RUDE!!!!! We ordered burgers and fries, the wait was way longer than usual, no one ever called our number so finaily my husband went to find out where our order was and the RUDE guy at the counter said its been sitting there forever. My husband said it would have been nice for you to call our number, the RUDE guy just walked away.....Our burgers were cold, the fries were ice-cold, they never gave us our sides of ranch we paid for. The burgers were not as tasty as they use to be but most of all the staff is RUDE!!!!!! There's way too many good burger places to waste our money on this place again. They need to learn good customer service!!!!!!

Very good place to eat whatever you want as an American. Staff very kind and cooks are nice if you can talk to them. I ordered an unusual item not on their menu and they gladly made.it without question. I ordered a carne asada chili cheese fries and just $5 more a lot of carne asada. Not the biggest portion I have ever seen but very acceptable for today's market.

Large portions for an affordable price, great for sharing. I'm obsessed with their soft serve, it's rich and creamy and has a stronger vanilla flavor then your average McDonald's ice cream!

This weekend was a lazy one and ordered in. We had the Jim's beeakfast burrito, roast beef dip and a double cheese burger, with a side order of large fries, be warned that the large fries are a full bag of fries, everything was good but the beef dip was tough and seemed to be a little old, won't be ordering that again.

I ate at Jim's Burger the other day. I'm a teacher, so I had only a 40-minute window to order, eat, and get back to school. There was only one person ahead of me in line, so I was able to get my order placed quickly. Maira took my order. I normally get their steak-cut french fries, which are so plentiful, the small ($4) is enough to feed 2 people. And they're so good, that I rarely opt for any other choice. However, on this visit, I noticed a couple of folks sitting at the table right near where you place orders. They had something that looked like french fries, but they were a bit different. I asked them what they were, and they said "fried zucchini." Then they offered to let me taste one (I must have admired them a bit too longingly) and seeing how tasty they looked, I couldn't help but say yes. Oh my goodness, I could not believe how delicious they were! Now I gotta say I'm not too big on zucchini. The only time I've ever eaten it was when it was sliced and boiled, or steamed on the stovetop. And it's never been to my liking. Well, this experience was different. They were sliced long-ways (instead of like coins) and breaded in a uniquely-seasoned coating. I'm almost at a loss to tell you how good they were. And unlike onion rings, which the onions tend to pull out of the breading on the first or second bite; these zucchinis just broke off as I took each bite... just like a french fry. Long story short, next time you go to Jim's, give them a try. They're a little pricey for a small ($6), but like the fries, there are plenty to go around, for a party of two. Got to mention a side-note. The person ahead of me ordered a banana shake. I couldn't help but admire it as I saw it pass me by. I even told the girl who ordered it, that it looked absolutely delicious. And no, I wasn't looking for a free taste. Well, when my name was called for my fried zucchini, what awaited me, but a small cup, with a "splash" of banana shake! Not too much, but just enough to give it an honest taste. And like the zucchini, sooooo good! The server, Maira, must have overheard me make a comment to the other customer, and was kind enough to provide a small sample for me. I thought that was incredibly thoughtful. Now THAT'S what I call customer service! That "above and beyond" attitude just made me a very loyal customer of Jim's! I mean, when was the last time somebody did something like that for you at a restaurant? Kudos to Wahib, the store manager (maybe owner?) for hiring someone like Maira, who extends that little bit of "extra care" to her customers! Thank you, Maira. Wahib, I think she deserves a raise!

Onion rings awful Ordered a chili cheeseburger and it had no cheese or chili on it called and they said nothing they can do about it The chili cheese fries had barley can chili and cheese on it Like what the heck when i called the guy said well i didn't make it want to come down here for another I'm home working so no i don't he was rude Tasted like death Like i threw up my friend was gagging Worst food of our lives Won't ever go again

I love Jim's! Have been coming here since I was a kid, and every time I have a burger and fries here, it reminds me of my childhood and hanging out with friends at Jim's after school. Most recently, I had a lettuce wrap hamburger, and it was so perfect! Crisp, crunchy lettuce, big slices of fresh tomato, and no sauce, just like I asked!! I appreciate that they always follow special instructions ie extra grilled onions or no mustard on my pastrami sandwich. Food always comes out fast and fresh. Jim's-- you guys are awesome!

Jim's Bland burgers they look tasty but lack their of, how about adding some seasoning like the way Jim's used too we definitely taste the difference I keep going back hoping for that great old taste but it's not happening maybe they lost it.

I was here once before. It's a work stop for breakfast place. They use strong cleaning agents on floor hence , it smell strongly like cleaning material but I am sure late on day it will be fine. Staff doing their job just fine. Interior is more of 80s vibe No music . Not too busy which is great FOOD: They made their own homemade sauce. Tastes great. The burrito was clean and good but it fall flat , missing some taste. Mainly because type of pastrami they have used. Overall it was ok.

BEST SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM PERIOD. I can't believe I just discovered this place. I ordered their 1/4 burger, chili cheese fries, chili cheese hot dog and their soft serve. I was very happy at the end of my meal and the prices were reasonable. I'm definitely returning to try their breakfast burrito

Stepping in to this restaurant first thing I noticed is how clean everything is. Some thing about this restaurant reminds me of the good old days. This place has real diner vibes. I could hear that classic rock station playing in the background while cook preparing the food. I ordered pastrami sandwich with fries and a drink. After ordering my food I stepped in the restroom to wash my hands. In my opinion a clean restaurant shows that the restaurant is doing their best provide a good service for all the customers. There was no pee all over the floor there wasn't paper all over the place the restroom clean and sanitize. Now for the food I was only able to eat half of the sandwich. The fries we're just like I ordered well done crispy and crunchy. I like the fact that you can serve your self your drink no charge for a refill. One of the cool things I did observe was A dad come in with his daughter. As they walked up to the counter they must be regulars. The woman taking orders automatically started getting ice cream for her young customer. Both the dad and her daughter had a smile from ear to ear. This is definitely a place that I would recommend a nice clean restaurant with a great service and smiling faces and tasty good. Next time I find myself in Monrovia I'll definitely be stopping by and train some of the world famous burgers

Food was incredible had a great experience. I appreciate how gracious they were with their portions for such a good price. Their efficiency and customer service was clear to see. I would like to commend their worker, the big man with glasses, for his proficiency in cleaning tables and taking orders from customers. It made me feel very taken care of and well serviced. 10/10 would go again.

We have been to Jim's Burgers several times within the last few weeks ~ big portions, flavorful food, affordable prices. My favorite is tuna melt and breakfast plate, the ham is so good!

So ... I was visiting my daughter and before my husband and I headed on rhe road we stopped at my fav burger place . We ordered one large fry wich is super large enough for a family to share and bacon cheeseburger. I will just say this ITS SO SO YUMMY !!!!! made me a happy girl!!! Love this place .

Can only speak for breakfast. Driving by running an errand and decided to get some breakfast. Bad idea.. yes their portions are big l, but what good is it if the food is below average. Got a Jim's omelette with ham instead of Turkey. Hash browns are under seasoned and I think they had some onion. The best part of the omelette was the fresh avocado on top. I think it's the quality of Ingredients that make it sub par. I tasted the cheese and ham on its own and you could tell it's of lesser quality. Even the toast was lacking. How that's possible?

As always the food never fails to disappoint.. great menu and amazing customer service. Food service is very fast. I have tried the burgers and pastrami and I am always satisfied. The location is always well stocked and clean. Definitely a most when in Monrovia.

Solid burger joint. Fairly priced. Double cheeseburger is a half pound and will often do the trick. A small fries is a generous helping of thick cut fries. To put it in perspective, a large is basically a whole paper bag full of fries. If you're one person, you do not need to order more than a small fry. The chili cheese fries are also pretty good. A small one will run you around five bucks and is completely worth it. Also the taco seemed expensive at ~$4 per, but picture a street taco fully loaded with meat to the brim. I don't think the carne asada was seasoned but dang that was a lot of meat in a single taco. At least you get the money's worth for quantity, but I think the quality makes heavy use of the salsa that's included. The Corn Dog is pretty expensive at $3 per, but for what it's worth, it's a very solid corn dog. Golden brown with a slight crunch. I think the only time I was really disappointed with an item was the biscuits and gravy from the breakfast menu. It was kinda... gross. Just didn't taste right to me... (in a recipe sense, not in a "it went bad sense")... but ultimately this is a burger establishment so I'm not gonna dock many points for that. Also ice cream! Similar to the french fries, a small order of ice cream is actually a substantial amount! A large cone is an insane amount of soft serve! Generally you want to order a small unless you're really trying to splurge. In addition to this, they also offer a banana shake, which is DELICIOUS. I tried it on a whim during one of my many visits here and am instantly a fan. It's very banana-y! To sum it up, the place is called Jim's BURGERS. Get burgers and fries here for foolproof satisfaction. Throw in a banana shake if you need a dessert!

Very good spot with lots of great American and Mexican options. Portions are solid. Service is quick and professional.

the best avocado cheeseburgers around. whenever i crave a great burger and fries, we always come here. portions are generous. they also do shakes and soft serve, which i've been meaning to try.

Overall the service was great and the food was good. However my partner and I were half way through our food today when we look up over by the drinking fountain and see a Cockroach crawling in the area to the left of it. We lost our appetite very fast! Will not be coming back here if there is still cockroaches crawling around
