"Anyone looking to spend 90 minutes with a life-sized bespectacled cat plushie and a carnivore’s dream spread should get to this quirky AYCE hot pot place ($41-54 per person) in the Richmond (you can also order a la carte, but that’s less fun). Each pot fits two flavors—when in doubt, go for the spicy garlic miso and 20-hour tonkotsu. As with any hot pot place worth its weight in meat, everything is endless. Keep the unlimited, paper-thin wagyu slices coming, along with the meatballs that you can plop out of a little wooden chute straight into the soup. And save room for the free bowl of kinako ice cream, a much-needed refresher after all that boiled meat." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, ricky rodriguez

Load up the table with trays of marbled beef and pork, tangles of springy ramen, and quail eggs. Boil away. Everything was perfect! We came here for the experience and to try something new, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. They have variations of fresh meat and veggies. The broth was delicious as well as the dipping sauce. The service was amazing, they were nice and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

We came during happy hours (5pm - 6:30pm, ayce for $36/person). Good quality meat, good service (one server for the entire restaurant) but our food came out fast. The orders came out in small plates, except the meat. Their dipping sauce has a tangy, cilantro taste to it. If you're not a big fan, there's ponzu sauce upon request.

The food is amazing. We didnt get the AYCE with drink option. We did three rounds. The food were so fresh. My favorite was shrimp and and the meat balls. Their beef slices are so good. Quality one. The service on the other hand. The next level. We were there yesterday closing time and there was only one server serving all the tables and handling my five people group’s demands. I bet it was a lot for him but he puts a smile on his every time. Did I mention we keep ordering for 3 rounds? and he was so patient with us the whole night even when we were the last table in the restaurant. The server was so polite and friendly. Best service ever! Also he’s super cute. We even forgot the phone on top of that and he came out and gave it to us. You cant find someone like that. I wish I tipped him more but my friend paid the bill. I wish I could ask his name and the number so I could thank him personally. Lol 😉 Anyway, I recommend this place. This is a healthier version of a good hotpot.

Google
A great shabu shabu experience! They had a good variety of soup bases and an excellent quality meat and veggie selection. They also didn't skimp on the amount each order like some places. We went with option A (unlimited) and didn't regret it. Also the ice cream at the end was a lovely way to end the meal!

Isabel was hands-down the best server we’ve ever had! She made our hot pot experience unforgettable, from start to finish. Her knowledge of the menu and her recommendations were spot-on – every flavor she suggested was incredible. She checked in frequently, making sure we had everything we needed and that our broths and ingredients were perfectly timed. What really set Isabel apart was her warmth and genuine enthusiasm; it felt like she was just as excited about our meal as we were! She brought such a personal touch to the whole experience, making us feel like VIPs. If you’re lucky enough to have Isabel as your server, prepare for an amazing night!

Really nice Shabi place in SF. Atmosphere felt warm and cozy. Value is also good as it was 40$ all you can eat and included Wagyu beef. The beef was super tender and definitely one of the better ones for the price! The cocktail was also super good and they have flavoured soju pitcher and sake.

Google
Wow! My favorite shabu house hand's down. And it's not just because they have cat-themed decorations everywhere (including framed photos of cats along the wall and cats all along the menu). The place is so quirky and cool. There's not a lot of space, so I heard there's usually a wait. But we went on a Wednesday at 5:30, and it was pretty easy to get a table. It's all-you-can-eat, and if you like alcohol, you might as well go with the premium. You can have two broths so we got the umami sea kelp and the spicy garlic miso. The umami sea kelp was a bit bland - the spicy garlic miso was perfect. The orders were fulfilled quickly, and I loved how easy they make it. I would definitely come back and will recommend to all my friends when they ask for the best hot pot place in the city.

Google
Love coming here for AYCE hot pot! Service is efficient, prompt and reliable. Their meats, seafood and veggies are all very fresh. Amazing broths to choose from, we got the mala spicy and spicy tonkotsu which were both so good.

Yelp
Let me start this off by saying my boyfriend declared that the Tom yum broth is so good, this is his new favorite spot. So you gotta try that. I was amazed at how much they made in house: the dipping sauce, the cilantro Wagyu dumplings, the shrimp paste, the meatballs, the ice cream sauce and the watermelon juice. And it was all FIRE. The meat and seafood quality is insanely good as well. The Wagyu and shrimp were our favorites. The snacks were yummy and great to fill in while food is cooking! I loved the Takoyaki fries but the bf preferred the chicken karaage. The interior is so cute, like a Japanese izakaya with a slight homage to cats. Very vibey. The server was really sweet and helpful as well!

Yelp
Showed up exactly when they opened and so glad we did as they had a few spots open for walk-ins. Then 30 minutes later the place was packed. What we also love about this place is the parking on Geary is so easy to find street parking. They have options for AYCE and AYCE w/drinks. As my girlfriend doesn't eat much we opted for the A la Carte and it was the perfect amount since the portions they give you for meat is definitely a lot and most places would skimp along with not being of good quality. But the quality here is some of the best. Personal preference, but highly recommend the Sukiyaki Broth as it'll perfectly flavor any veggie and meat you swash it in. Don't forget to also ask for Sesame Sauce on the side its one of the freebies that's not known. Service is also one of the best as they're always walking up and down the aisle assisting customers. They had made a mistake of bringing lettuce when I asked for Bok Choy and made the change real quick. Jin Pot will probably be my girlfriend and I's go to spot whenever we go into San Francisco

Yelp
We were craving Shabu shabu, and wanted to try somewhere new and this was one of the few spots open for lunch on the weekend. $41 for AYCE, well worth the price for admission. Easily, this is one of my favorite shabu spots I've been to. They have so many broth choices so we went with the spicy garlic miso on one side, and the sukiyaki on the other. Both were so some of the best I had. The Wagyu meats were all tasty, and the veggies were fresh. They had some hot appetizers, the gyoza and chicken karaage were my favorites of the bunch. For dessert, they give you a scoop of vanilla ice cream with sea salt and other toppings, it was so good after a meal like this, I had to stop myself for asking for seconds lol A couple things we asked for that we didn't see on the menu was their sesame dipping sauce and a side of fresh jalapeños. Definitely recommend asking for both because both elevated our meal. When we arrived, we were the first table sat. They asked if we had reservations, but we didn't. Either way we were able to get seated right away. Next time though, definitely make the reservation via their Yelp page bc it got busy quick and they had some available day of. The vibes inside they were playing old school r&b which was cool. It's perfect for groups of 1-6 TLDR: Great food, value, and service from this AYCE spot, would definitely come back again.

Winni Z.

Yelp
Great experience, would love to go back for another round of AYCE. We went in on a Saturday at 4:30 and it wasn't too packed. The servers were attentive but not the speediest. They were playing good music and the decor is cute. We did 3 rounds of ordering, but I'm sure you can ask for quicker rounds. The spicy garlicky organic soy milk broth is the way to go. Our favorites were: lamb, seafood bundle, spinach, and the tsumire (both the black garlic and fresh sweet corn were yummy). Honestly everything tasted fresh. They don't have any peanut based dipping sauces, but did offer sesame paste as an alternative. Make sure to ask for ice cream at the end!

Yelp
This review is very late ! Had such a wonderful BD celebration for my daughter here . There were 5 of us and the food was delicious! They went all out to having a BD table cloth and BD decorated table I was so pleased ! Service was amazing

Yelp
Ready for an endless feast of shabu-shabu in the coziest cat-themed spot in town? Dive into the divine at Jin Pot! From their umami-packed broths to the premium cuts of American Wagyu and Black Angus beef, every detail screams quality. Favorites to try: - Starters: Takoyaki Fries, Chicken Karaage - Broths: Spicy Garlic Miso, Tom Yum, Sukiyaki, Tonkotsu - Proteins: Wagyu Kobe Beef, Kurobuta Pork - Desserts: Kinako Ice Cream Savor top-tier meats. The Premium Wagyu Kobe Beef is richly marbled, offering a melt-in-your-mouth texture, while the Premium Lean Wagyu provides a slightly firmer bite without sacrificing flavor. Their Kurobuta Pork, is thinly sliced yet flavorful. For seafood lovers, the Seafood Deluxe has a fresh selection of exquisite shrimp, fish fillet, mussels and clams. Broths I tried: the Sukiyaki broth is sweet and savory, creating a perfect harmony with the premium meats, while the Tonkotsu Pork Bone broth, simmered to creamy perfection, forms a rich base that enhances every other ingredient dipped into it. Whether it's a chill night out or a special date, Jin pot shabu offers a comforting embrace with its warm atmosphere, great service and deliciously crafted menu. Can't wait to go back for more, especially their $36 AYCE Happy Hour 5-6.30pm on weekdays.

Yelp
I'll preface this review by saying this may be a worthwhile meal for big eaters, particularly meat eaters who opt for the AYCE menu at $41 for their cheaper option. My group didn't have a particularly big appetite for dinner so we opted for the a la carte. I don't go out for hot pot very often and I'm reminded why after a trip to Jin's. Each meat place was pricey for the portion; at $18 for a plate of pork, you could get better quality meat and a larger portion from the grocery store. However, I think they offered decent portion size for vegetables, fish balls, etc. The broth is usually the best part of any shabu meal, but they missed the mark with the sukiyaki and pork bone broth. The sukiyaki was too sweet and the pork bone broth was bland. I'd also pass on the takoyaki fries. It was nothing special, just a plate of fries with a little dressing of takoyaki sauce, mayo, and bonito flakes. The service was okay but make sure to take a picture of what you selected on the menu before giving it to the waiter. There was a slight mix up on our order, but it was addressed rather quickly. I appreciate that the waitress brought each of us a serving of ice cream for celebrating a birthday!

Yelp
Service 4.5/5 Service is great, they're very attentive and will come by frequently to see if you need to order your next rounds. They were pretty strict on the 90 minutes window for ayce despite having only half the restaurants filled. They have happy hour for $36/person from M-F 5-6:30pm! Food 4.5/5 Wagyu Beef was very good and nice marbling. Have lots of options including seafood and meat/shrimp paste. A variety of appetizers you don't see at other hot pot places! I loved that everything came out in small portions so you don't overeat/waste. I wish there were enoki mushrooms and tofu bean curds. Check in on yelp for $1 small hot sake! Ambiance 4/5 A nice cozy spot for shabu. Vibe is good and lots of art decorations. Can be quite noisy and hear all your neighbors' conversation as all the tables are white close to each other.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
My friend and I came here to check out their happy hour $36/person from 5-6:30pm. Good thing we got here at 5:10pm, because the deal only works if you're done eating by 6:30pm. The sign didn't make that clear and probably dupe people to come in around 6pm but not able to finish eating by 6:30pm. It was $46.14 each person even with the happy hour deal, including tax, tips, and SF health care mandate. The decorations inside are very cute! It was a great selection of food! We enjoyed 2 plates of chicken karagge, 1 plate of gyoza, and fried fish balls for appetizers. We picked the Japanese broth tonkatsu and sukiyaki. We had different types of beef, seafood deluxe, octopus, house made meatballs, squash, seaweed, and udon. It was too much food and I stuffed myself too much, so I recommend not ordering the udon, octopus, and meatballs. The Japanese meatballs tasted odd to me. I should've ordered the vegetable combo, more meat, and more appetizers instead. Definitely order the chicken karagge cause that was bomb!!

Maya R.

Yelp
Came here for dinner around 8pm on Sunday and was seated right away. You can either choose A la carte or AYCE so we chose AYCE. My boyfriend and I like the same broth so it came in one pot but they give you the option to choose two different flavors in a split pot if you'd like. The portions for everything except the meats were fairly small but there was no item limit per order which we liked. Parking was very easy but on a Friday or Saturday night I would recommend giving yourself enough time to look for parking since the restaurant is right on Geary. The free scoop of ice cream at the end was a plus!

Nicholas k.

Yelp
This place just is not it for me! What went wrong? Well started off weird. Unlimited Supreme since we wanted AYCE but separate drinks. The corn was actually baby corn, and carrots was sliced. Not what I was expecting. There was "fresh egg" in the noodle and rice section, so we thought it was egg noodles, nope it's a raw egg. The meats were too thin sliced, and worst of all, after the second round, and only 1 hour in, the server told us this is the last round. We thought it's AYCE? Shouldn't you allow us to order whatever till the time is up? We felt the servers were purposely working slow to kill time and limit our foods. On the 3rd round, our last meats was not what we ordered. Asked for Wagyu beef, and they tricked us and gave us angus beef instead. At that point, we were over it. Won't be coming back again.

Abigail T.

Yelp
The cat decor is so cute. Came for their AYCE for 2 people ended up being around $106 with tip and tax. They also do this cool local rewards program with Loyalti so you can get a free AYCE meal if you come by enough. Ice cream included with the all you can eat at end was bomb!! Clean place and wasn't too crowded ~6pm on a Friday. Only reason for 4 stars is I wish it was faster to get the waiter's attention when ordering more.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Came here for Shabu on a rainy weekend in SF, and overall had a great experience. Jin Pot is relatively known as one of the better Hot Pot restaurants in SF's Richmond District, and I can certainly see why. The atmosphere inside is very intimate, warm, and cozy. It felt very home-y and just a pleasant place to enjoy a nice meal. The quality of meats are the only reason I didn't give a full 5/5 stars. They had a decent selection, including some Wagyu Beefs, but I felt that most of the meats we were served could've been a little juicier and more tender. We got the Tonkotsu and House Special Spicy Mala broths -- Beware, the latter was VERY spicy. The service was fast and attentive - We had each new order arrive in no-time. For ~53/person including tax + tip, I'd say you can't get any better in SF.

Chelly C.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night for dinner. Perks that I was able to get same day reservations. The place itself is a decent size, had about 10-12 tables. When we arrived, we got seated right away. You can do AYCE or order ala carte but we decided to do the AYCE. They provide you a menu where you can choose the following: broth, meat, sides, veggies. I liked how we were able to do two different broths and there wasn't a limit to how many we can order at a time. However, the serving size is pretty small so I do suggest ordering 2-3 servings at a time especially since the service is a bit slow. Overall, I would come back again.

Janeesah H.

Yelp
This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the city, best Shabu for sure. I'm a frequent customer here and sometimes come 2 or 3 times a month. I haven't been here for all my favorite celebrations from birthdays to holidays and will continue coming back. Service is top tier, you are never waiting for anything. They have a menu ready for you for the next round before you even think you need it. Quality of food is also amazing. Meats melt in your mouth and fresh seafood. My favorite thing to order is the wagyu dumplings. And the broths are soooo good and flavorful. Happy hour is a bonus AYCE for $36 and cheap drinks. Whether you go for happy hour or just lunch or dinner Jin Pot is worth the price!

Tiffany P.

Yelp
Jin Pot is probably my new favorite hot pot restaurant in SF. The AYCE food AND drink was so worth it. For $54/person, you can get unlimited food and drinks. We got house spicy mala, spicy garlic miso, wagyu Kobe beef, and premium black angus. The wagyu Kobe beef was incredibly tender and juicy! Some of my favorite sides included the black garlic tsumire, house made shrimp paste, sponge tofu, quail eggs, and flour noodles. I wished they had tofu skin, fish ball with roe, and tripe since those are my favorite hot pot sides! Side note: I loved the sauce. Hot pot sauces are usually my determining factor in whether or not I really like a hot pot place. I loved the sauce here since I usually opt for ponzu based sauces. My friend really liked the house made sesame sauce! As for the drinks, the pineapple soju cocktail was sooo good and one of the best soju cocktails I've had since I don't like the soju to be too strong. We also got beer and sake for sake bombs that my friend seemed to really enjoy (I do not like sake LOL). I'd also recommend the fresh watermelon juice if you don't want cocktails. Both came in pitchers so we were pretty bloated by the end of our dinner. The restaurant itself is pretty small and was crowded when we came so I'd recommend making a reservation on yelp!

Annie S.

Yelp
Service can be a bit slow on weekends, but the quality of meat is definitely top tier compared to other shabu spots. The ambiance is super cute - it has a vintage vibe from Japan and there are cats everywhere! Great price for great food!

Joanna C.

Yelp
Had heard great things about Jin Pot Shabu House so made dinner plans here with a group of friends a little while back. Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor, though outdoor gets quite cold when it's windy. The service staff was friendly, but not the most efficient or speedy. We had to ask for the marker to fill out our order, which took a while, and then the marker wasn't even working so we had to wait. Because we were sitting outside it felt like they kept forgetting about us! I've been spoiled by great hot pot over the years so take my review with a grain of salt. We did a la carte and ordered a pretty large variety of meats and vegetables. Food came out relatively fast though the portions were on the smaller side. Everything was fine, but nothing particularly special. Would come here again if I were craving hot pot, but still on the search for my go to spot in SF.

Jessica O.

Yelp
My bf and I came to Jin Pot for early Saturday dinner and we had such a good time here. I made reservations at 5pm and we were the only people in there for 5:30pm. By 6pm most tables were filled, so definitely make a reservation or come early if you want to skip the wait. We opted for the $54 AYCE and drink and we were able to get 3 rounds in for food and drinks. We got half tonkotsu broth and half spicy garlic miso with soy milk base. My boyfriend is pescetarian and he really loved the spicy miso and soy milk broth. It was super flavorful (very garlic and spice forward) and creamy which is not his usual experience with vegetarian broths. I liked the tonkotsu broth, it was also rich and flavorful. The standout proteins for me were the wagyu, lamb, and mussels. The veggie selection was a bit lacking for me, but we did multiple rounds of napa cabbage. We also had multiple rounds of the mushroom sampler. The quail eggs were also really good and we did 2 rounds since each round was just 4 quail eggs. We ended with ramen to soak up all the delicious broth we had. I appreciated the smaller portions they gave out so you can try out more items. They were also really accommodating to bring out half orders or doubles if you weren't at the limit of ordering from each section of the menu. The staff were continuously checking on us so we were never waiting for food to come out. The music was bumping, servers were super nice, and the interior was decorated nice and cozy. Pro tip: for the drinks, you can order large sizes of the hot/cold sake. At the end of the meal you get a complimentary scoop of vanilla ice cream with caramel. We were out of the restaurant of 6:45pm and happily stuffed. Really nice AYCE experience with quality ingredients, attentive staff, and the cozy ambiance you want for good hotpot!

Chena N.

Yelp
SomePOTdy said these weekends startin to feel like 30 min lunch breaks & I felt that in my soul. JINbelievable how quick time flies once you're older. .:: FOOD ::. DONT BE FOOLED BY THE MENU! It looks like you pay per dish but there is AYCE, and A-La-Carte options (in case you dont want to be tied to AYCE when you're not too hungry) AYCE- $38 /person We chose house special spicy mala soup and sukiyaki soup (can choose up to 2) Must gets: -Premium Wagyu Kobe Beef: good marbling, nice quality meat (better than mokuku these days). We solely ordered this for meat to get the most bang for our buck - Fish Tofu: my absolute fav hot pot side -Udon - House made shrimp paste: so good and has a distinct taste to it They have a bunch of protein options: pork, beef, chicken, lamb, seafood Several veggie options: from the greens to mushroom to squash to corn Several tofu and meatball options: ie bamboo rolls, fishball, sponge tofu Rice & noodle options from ramen to udon to vermicelli to fresh egg noodles etc Passion fruit soju $13: pretty good and refreshing, well mixed and good ratio FREE ICE CREAM DESSERT: at the end of the meal they give a vanilla ice cream with kinako powder and caramel(?) drizzle. Anyways, its actually pretty good for a free dessert. The kinako powder was the perfect harmony with the creamy ice cream. .:: Ambiance / Service / Parking ::. The place is well lit despite the dark tables and walls. Plays bay area slaps, at a good volume, not too loud. Service was good, I came on Saturday (day before mother's day), got seated immediately at 6pm for 5 top. Food came in a timely manner. You just mark with a dry erase marker on the menu what you would like. Parking is usually bad in Richmond, but luckily that day found parking on the same block as the restaurant.

Monet Y.

Yelp
Two of us decided to have Shabu and arrived there during their happy hour time. AYCE is a good deal with everything is very fresh except for the shrimp on that day. Wagyu beef is the highlight. Will definitely go back.

Crystal L.

Yelp
What a cute and delicious corner of SF. This place is one of my favorites hot pot places in the city. The soup flavors are delicious & the restaurant is decorated really nicely. They have AYCE hot pot with tons of options & really great quality meat. Plus, the special dipping sauce here is just fantastic. It is a small place, so I recommend coming in a small group (4 or less) and calling in for a reservation before going in.

Trisha V.

Yelp
A solid hotpot place in SF inner Richmond area! There's a selection to choose from and the AYCE prices are not too crazy. The servers everytime I have come are so nice & attentive. I love their broth, we got the spicy miso and tonkatsu and they were very well balanced. Definitely a go-to spot in the city for good shabu!

Dave T.

Yelp
The individualized hot pot here is nice. In addition to the many choices of meats and seafood, there are many choices for other add ons (veggies, tofu, etc). Having many choices also can add up in price though. Overall, it is very tasty and the wait staff are all friendly.

David T.

Yelp
Small venue (reservations recommended if taking advantage of happy hour) and slow-ish service but we really liked this place. You can do AYCE or a la carte. Service was slow but very friendly. Waving your arms to flag someone down is a must if you need something. They'd probably really benefit from an electronic ordering system. Broth and food were good and ingredient quality seemed better than your average AYCE hot pot place, at least for the veggies and meats. I would definitely pass on the seafood. There is no sauce bar as they just give you a pre-made sauce. I was not a fan of the sauce but luckily the broths imparted more than enough flavor into the food. Drinks are pricey, probably to encourage the aycd drink option. Overall, liked this place and would definitely go back.

John L.

Yelp
I love Jin pot, my friend recommended this place and it was amazing Food: 5/5 we did ayce and the meet came out very quickly, the meat was also good quality. I really enjoyed the cuts of beef we had. They also have a good selection of broths and side dishes. It's very easy to get what you want here and the ice cream at the end is so rich and creamy. Service: 5/5 it was speedy and the wait staff was very accommodating. Ambiance: very casual

Yelp
One of the BEST Japanese Hot Pot in San Francisco! Cold weather calls for delicious hotpot! It's reallyyyyyy hard for me to say that somethings my #1 when One Pot Shabu Shabu as always been on my top list in San Jose. But Jin Pot you impressed me! Everything served caught my eye! And can you believe their all you can eat is only $40 per person, that's including wagyu beef?! Jin Pot's broth is tasty and unique, I ordered house special and sukiyaki (so hard to find a delicious sukiyaki but this is IT), they also have have a variety of premium meats to choose from, their ponzu is house made and VERY delicious, and what's different is that they serve homemade Japanese meatballs! They offer a variety of drinks, including alcohol! I got their watermelon juice and it was sweet and refreshing. For appetizers I ordered their kaarage and Takoyaki fries, so good! Service was amazing. The owner is super kind and extremely attentive. I would recommend this place to everyone! I love the atmosphere of the restaurant as well!

Alden W.

Yelp
I'd give it a 3.5 because the food was really good. I got there around 6:20 for the 5pm to 6:30 pm AYCE and was told I was too late. Apparently you have to be there earlier. That was really disappointing. That should be clearly described when advertising. If you say 6:30 then you should honor it and not tell me you have to be here by 5:30 or some earlier time. I forgot what she told me I was bummed. Then half an hour before your time is up they tell you it's last order on a AYCE! It says a time limit on the menu but it's annoying. Anyway it's over $100 for two people. It's a cute place . The meat is good and service is meh. It's like one person serving the entire restaurant. You would think at that price they could hire more staff.

Emm C.

Yelp
This place is the best for consistent service and good hotpot Japanese style. There is no sauce station. My kid loves the carbs, I love the veggies and the hubs loves the meats. There's a special before 6:25pm for $36pp AYCE, all orders in by 630p on weekdays. The only negative if you go with mixed grp is you have to share the pot. It's divided into 2.

Yelp
The spicy garlic miso is DELICIOUS! We got the unlimited all you can eat and absolutely loved it.

Yelp
Food: 3.5/5 Ayce portions are small. For example, we got one order of dumplings and there were two. One order of meat is like 12-15 slices. Refills are broth and not water which is good! (I have been to places where they do just use water). Quality was decent, and above average, but not the best I've had. Service: 4/5 friendly and attentive Ambiance: 3/5 A bit small, but not surprising for an SF restaurant. We made reservations for a party of 12 and we were able to spread across 4 tables. ayce + pitcher of beer + tax + all the SF fees = ~$61/person in my mind its a bit pricey for what you get Overall: 3.5/5

Yelp
I came across this place through an Instagram post. This is my first time here. A few of us arrived just in time for their AYCE special for $36 on Monday. First, I noticed the menu is very limited on the amount you can order, and service is slow since there's only one person running the show, the owner. Not once, and I mean not once did she check on our table for anything, nor if we were ready to order. This already left me a poor taste in my mouth before I even tried the food. I get that it's Monday..but if I had to waive you down because I had a question, and then you leave abruptly because you're the only one running the show, that's on you. Service is slow and poorly executed. My table was the only one unchecked. There is no hospitality here for my table.. The broth we chose was spicy garlic tonkatsu (which was the favorite) and sukiyaki (sweet and umami, though not memorable). Tasty until she refilled our pot. Flavor profile changed, but I'm sure the refill wasn't hot water.. There is only one sauce offered to my table, which reminded me of ponzu and one plate of two cloves of minced garlic and cilantro.. Highly recommend the homemade meatballs they offer served in a bamboo sleeve. The wagyu beef is good, but not consistent. The first 5 plates were great. Then after, the rest was on the drier side when cooked. Ordered a total of 14 plates of wagyu and 2 orders of lamb because why not. Initially, I ordered more plates (6 more), but the owner had other plans, which I appreciated because she disclosed any plates unfinished we would have to pay $18. At the end, waiving her down, I asked for the check and she noticed there was still a lot of meats in the pot. Seriously?! Never have I dined at any hot pot AYCE place that says there is meat still in my pot I needed to finish, another disclosure of "thank you for understanding". From that, I was scooping up scraps of meat in my pot. Clearly, first time around I was done with like 3 whole pieces I managed to dig up from the grave. Waived her another time, swear to myself if she glanced my pot one more time, I was going to have her search my pot. I don't know how many times I had to waive for service and how many times she had only time to look at my pot, probably thinking these guys can't finish all these plates of meat. My experience was unpleasant. I expected a lot from this establishment with all its great reviews. Honestly, I wouldn't come back here because there are a lot of other great hot pot options in the Bay Area. I'm not so sure how this place has so many great reviews with the very lacking service. I know, everyone's experience is different. I also know how much food I can consume. Anywho, Shabu Club is just a few blocks away for quality, consistent cuts of meat, and happy hour apps. Just go there instead or good luck eating here because I'm sure the owner will do better next time from now onwards. (Inserts upside down smile since that's the only expression we got) 2/5 for homemade meatballs and cute decor.

Yelp
My favorite hot pot spot in the city. Reasonable prices for all you can eat and super cute inside. Their spicy mala broth is out of this world if you like spice. Their shrimp paste is also incredible and one of our favorite sides to order. Service is pretty good and they'll check on you frequently when you run out of food.

Yelp
The reason why I wouldn't give it 5 stars to this spot is because the few times we came by, they seemed somewhat disorganized. The servers are very friendly, but they are either overworked and/or forgetful. Probably a combo of both. We would order and they will always forget a few things. They go by the dry erased paper here but we have incidences where they won't bring items to us or forgotten us even though they have multiple servers check in but then would forget again. Food is top notch when you can get it. I especially love their house made Tsumire (Japanese Nabe Meatballs). My absolute favorite with their yummy broths. I really hope they improve because I would like to come by more often.

Yelp
Place opens at 430 and waiting for it to open Employee finally opened at 435. Ordered food at 440 and the food and pot came out at 455 Soap was too salty and the restaurant service was slow and very strict on how many dish you can ordered.. just to limited the food you can have. Meat was too thin and the quality was not poor. Only thing that's good was the popcorn chicken.. and we got the early bird price for $36. Since the price is for 90 minutes and the restaurant "strictly" enforced it, the employees handed us the menu at 545 and stated that it will be out "last call" since we are arrived at "430" My family rushed through our food and have no plan to come back ever again.. Worst shabu place in sf..

Yelp
Oishi. Really good. I hate to say it because it may make it too busy, but it's probably the best hotpot/shabu shabu I've had. The quality was excellent. I had the spicy garlic miso soup and it was delicious. The home made shrimp paste was likewise delicious. You could taste the quality in every ingredient and dish. You can tell they care, which is one of my measures for distinguishing restaurants; you can taste the caring. The ponzu sauce tasted homemade. The veggies looked and tasted like they pulled them out of the backyard. The beef was really tasty and tender. I erroneously ordered the shrimp (I wanted another shrimp paste), but it was also very fresh & good. Even the ice cream had a little bit extra, vanilla ice with hints of caramel and dusted with kinako. This place tasted more Japanese to me. Lastly, there was only one server for the restaurant and I was worried he'd be overwhelmed. But, he was really awesome, very nice, accommodating, and prompt. I'd say his demeanor was really striking. He was just very zen (calm, kind, and considerate) for a server. Overall, my new favorite. If you like quality over variety (although good amount of selection), this place is it.

Yelp
SF and hotpot.... name a better duo, I'll wait. There's nothing like eating steamy ayce hotpot on a cold, foggy day (which is like most of the year in this part of SF). The meat quality is amazing plus all the sides are delicious and unique! I've never had grounded mixture of meat and seafood that you cook like meatballs (served on a cute bamboo platter!) And did I mention they have an ayc-drink option just for another $12 more?! Definitely make a reservation as this place is small and cozy. I would give them 5 stars, but service can be improved upon! Nothing against the waitresses, they definitely work hard! Seems like they were understaffed both nights I went. Nonetheless, definitely check it out!

Yelp
we always head to jin pot for shabu shabu. decent AYCE price and more food options compared to other places. service is timely and for being a more "group get-together" type of restaurant, the vibes are pretty chill and it never seems to get too rowdy. only thing i dislike is how close together the tables at the bench seating are, but that's about it.

Yelp
Shabu/AYCE does not get better than this. There is so much goodness about this place. What did i love? 1. Price point - it's $38 for the ultimate which is basically everything on the menu (just no drinks). I also like that they used whiteboard menus to take new rounds so it's sustainable and you also don't have to talk to someone to list out what you want for the next round. Note: they also limit how many of each category you can get in a round (which is not a problem at all because they constantly check on whether you need their whiteboard menu to put down another order & the food comes out super fast and fresh) 2. The quality of the food - they give you kobe beef (both the regular and the lean) and they're both high quality 3. The appetizers/snacks are great - usually at other places, i found the fries or what not to be cold but these come out FRESH and HOT. I adored the fries and popcorn chicken but couldn't indulge because I had so much other stuff on the menu I wanted! 4. Service - never have i experienced better AYCE service. The staff were attentive and would give me another whiteboard menu to request more items before I asked. They constantly checked in and delivered food immediately when it was available from the kitchen 5. Dessert - at the end of the meal, they give you ice cream with brown sugar and kinako powder. it's simple but so delish Things are noteworthy but wouldn't stop me from giving them 5 stars: 1. Broth- it's kind of salty so next time around, i'd probably just get the kombu broth and maybe the sukiyaki 2. Dipping sauce- they only have 1 default one that they give you 3. There were some things on the menu that I tried and didn't find yum but that's a personal preference (if you care, it was the Tsumire)

Yelp
Finally popped by this place to have dinner. Nice clean space with fun cat theme inside. We got the AYCE and away we went. It's important to get fresh quality ingredients when you go to a hot pot place and we certainly got it. We got several orders of the waygu, chicken, seafood, fish, and meatballs for our proteins. The veges, mushrooms, udon, ramen in support were all great. Took advantage of the happy hour drinks too. For a family meal we were able to get 2 broths, each was savory and excellent. My only quip was for more dipping sauces. It was not clear that others were available. Other than that, a tip top hot pot joint!

Yelp
Quality of meat isn't the best and one waitress serving the entire restaurant on a Wednesday night . You can imagine the service. Initially charged us for an extra person but was later corrected. Appetizer were probably the best part of the meal.

Kaitlyn L.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday night and was pleasantly surprised by the cute kitty pillows!! Really cozy spot for a group of friends or your sig other. They have a delicious cilantro dressing that pairs well with the meat. We split a spicy miso/ house special mala broth between 4 people. They called last call about an hour after we got there at 7:30. They have a great veggie selection and we enjoyed hot sake w Yelp check in. Service was a little slow, but overall solid hot pot spot.

Yelp
I frequent this restaurant quite often and there are so many reasons for that. This is my favorite AYCE shabu shabu spot in the city and as such, is my go-to. I love it so much that I actually dine here by myself often, which isn't a normal thing for me by any means. It's so difficult to find a hot pot / shabu spot that isn't overwhelming, decently low key, and serves up delicious, quality food. Some unique offerings include a soy milk-based broth (my favorite and go-to with added garlic) and various tsumire (Japanese nabe meatballs - my favorite is the negi tsumire). I know some reviews have mentioned smaller portion sizes but as someone who dines here alone, it's actually PERFECT. This is another big issue I can't eat at other hot pot spots by myself. Though the serving size on some items may by smaller, I haven't been restricted to how many rounds I can order besides the time limit. I normally come during lunch on the weekends and the restaurant is never too packed. The restaurant itself feels very cozy and doesn't try to be what it isn't, which I love. There is a giant cat wearing glasses pillow I often sit next to that makes me feel a little less lonely. I have named them Eugene :') I always receive amazing service from the same server each time. She is an absolute joy and makes me feel comfortable eating by myself lol. Definitely check this spot out. I hope that it will stay around for a very long time.

Yelp
We were a little disappointed. Not in the food, that was amazing! Their website says they're open until 9:30. We showed up at 8:15, yes I know that is late for a dining experience such as this, but that was the soonest we could get there. When we arrived, our server informed us that we were not allowed to do the all you can eat because it was too late and they closed at 9. We only ordered one round of food, and ended up paying $70 more than we would have with the AYCE. The server was very nice and let us stay a little later as he straightened up. We gave him a nice tip, as he was great and this was not his policy, but if you're going to have a policy like that it should be posted somewhere. We would have gone on a day we could have gotten there sooner and not paid twice the price.

Yelp
Food was pretty average; I feel like I have had better ones around the Richmond area. The sauce as well as the meat was alright here. In addition, you have to make a reservation in order to get seating in the inside or else you may be stuck with seats outside, which is somewhat of a dimly lit and less well equipped setting. Would recommend this place if you don't mind the stuff

Yelp
Absolutely me and my wife's favorite Shabu spot in the bay for AYCE Shabu Shabu. We've been coming here since prepandemic and the server Teresa would always take care of us and offer friendly service. It's easy to make a reservation through Yelp. The interior feels cozy and has stuff animals on the bench seating with pictures and details of the broths they offer on the right wall. The numerous broths they offer are all flavorful and unique which you can't find at most shabu/hot pot places. Our personal favorites are: 1) Szechuan spicy pickled cabbage which is peppery and sour with a bit of a kick. 2) Sukiyaki broth which is savory and sweet that compliments and enhances the sweetness of the nicely marbled wagyu beef they offer. This is the broth we miss from Japan that this place satisfies our craving for. 3) Spicy miso which is common amongst shabu restaurants but they add more miso in theirs which taste more flavorful and is actually spicy. We always order the wagyu beef which they slice thinly and the meat is well marbled so it melts in your mouth, our second favorite is the New Zealand lamb which always taste fresh and not gamey at all. Here are our favorites from the menu that's included in the AYCE: Vegetable platter - Can't decide? It comes with a variety of their veggies Tsumire Bamboo Rolls - minced wagyu beef w/ negi(green onion) or corn Chicken Kara-age - nice and crispy to get the appetite going. Takoyaki fries- comes with the sweet and slightly tangy Takoyaki sauce topped w/ bonito flakes. Cilantro Wagyu dumplings - flavorful dumpling to go with their broth and not overpowered by cilantro. House sake- check-in and you get a bottle for 50 cents Lastly they offer you a complimentary dessert at the end of your meal which is a bowl of vanilla ice cream with a brown sugar syrup and kinako powder and it is SO addictive and delicious.

Yelp
Best Shabu House in San Francisco. ALways get the House Special Spicy Mala. And is so freaking good no disappointment. Everything so fresh and so damm good that it won't let me stop eating. That's how super good the food is. It's is an excellent. No words cant describe. Everyone should come and try it's a must. Food just smelt in your mouth. Like unconditional love.

Dora K.

Yelp
Jin Pot is my favorite hotpot spot. They have premium wagyu meats, delicious sides, and delicious broth! We got the tonkatsu bone broth and the sukiyaki broth. My favorite is the sweet sukiyaki, and the tonkatsu broth balances out the sweet with savory. We always order the first two cuts of meat, the fries, gyoza, cabbage, udon.

Robert K.

Yelp
We thought the food especially wagyu beef were excellent, was a bit pricy since our 12 y/o daughter didn't eat much but I think I made up for it (I was stuffed!)
