We've been steadily eating our way through all the pizza options in the area and, well, this might be fighting words, but I think Jinny's can go toe-to-toe with the big-league NYC places. As someone who loves the toppings more than the crust, Jinny's does a fantastic crust, so chewy and crispy at the same time. They offer a few dipping sauces for your pizza bones but actually, the dough stands up beautifully on its own.
We ordered the spiedini, the Caesar salad, and tried the half margherita, half pepperoni. Can't really go wrong with the spiedini, which was provolone wrapped in prosciutto and drizzled with Mike's hot honey. I love a good Caesar, and this one was definitely up there (the small is more than enough to feed two people), though I'll have to come back to try the other veggie offerings, like the roasted carrots and snap pea and farro salad.
Definitely order one or two or maybe three pies. 1) There were so many combos that jumped out at me but we went with the classic two. 2) The pies are on the smaller side. If you come here hungry, you can finish one pizza, no problem. 3) I personally prefer more topping acreage on a given slice than pizza, but the crust was so good, I had absolutely no complaints.
The service was wonderful. A big shout-out to Paul with the trivia questions and Chef Lydia, who took the time to introduce herself and gave us her recommendations for good eats in the area. We can't wait to come back to not only Jinny's, but also Little Big Diner and Sycamore.
