Jinsei Motto is an intimate sushi haven in Chicago, celebrated for its fresh omakase and cozy vibe that invites food lovers to savor each thoughtfully crafted dish.
"A sushi restaurant inside CH Distillery in West Loop, closing on April 5. Ownership is splitting with plans to open a new spot called Omakase Box in Logan Square." - Ashok Selvam
"This pop-up-turned-permanent restaurant inside CH Distillery (the maker of Jeppson’s Malört) is one of the city’s most unusual spots, offering a 14-course omakase in a modern, industrially-influenced space. Diners can also order nigiri, sashimi, and maki a la carte." - Naomi Waxman
"While we probably won’t attempt our own 15-course omakase any time soon, making handrolls feels both fun and manageable. Jinsei Motto, a delivery-only sushi spot on Tock makes this possible. Along with their regular menu of nigiri, sashimi, and maki, they also sell handroll kits. Each pack costs $40 and comes with spicy tuna, spicy tako, spicy shrimp, salmon, avocado, cucumber, rice, and seaweed. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation
"This lovely little jewel sits on a corner of Clinton Street, within the splendid CH Distillery. Prima facie, it looks much like a sports bar, but inside, the aura is that of a beloved pub—dark, sultry, and alive with sports fans. In keeping with its locale, gleaming stills are front and center, while the kitchen is packed with dedicated sushi chefs. Omakase is the way to go, but don't sleep on the à la carte as it features much of the same flavor and quality. A meal here is basically one delicious bite after another—think Massachusetts oysters with yukari ponzu; silky Japanese snapper; and Threeline grunt with rice and seaweed. The fish on offer changes seasonally, but in our experience, shima-aji garnished with mitsuba left a lasting impression." - Michelin Inspector
