This place is a gem of a hole in the wall. I hate it when people say they don’t wanna tell people about businesses they love cause they don’t want them to become popular but honestly, I almost feel that way here. It was quiet- the ambiance isn’t the club vibe of Gen in Arden, they don’t have the cute kitty robots from Blue House or the impressive koi pond at Oz. BUT I like that! The restaurant is tucked in corner of a parking lot off of Folsom. It’s simple decor but it’s kinda refreshing in a way. The staff is sooooo friendly!! I heard the hostess having genuine conversation with every table, including ours, asking for feedback, where the customers were from, etc. It feels so welcoming, like they want you there and are happy to see you. And of course: the food. It is soooo yummy. Everything is amazing quality- with *very* generous portions served. My party was not expecting so much at once and ordered almost too much to finish. Their sides and appetizers are also excellent quality. The price, especially for the variety of items is great! Many of the other kbbq restaurants paywall the “high value” items by charging more for an extended menu. This was a flat 40 dollars for ayce dinner, I believe the lunch menu is 25. That is amazing! Everything from the prime rib steak to the chicken dishes is included in the base price. That is so awesome. Honestly this place is 1000000% the best kbbq in the Sac area as far as I am concerned. I think they all have their own strengths but considering price, quality, variety and the relaxed/friendly environment- this place can not be beat. Hiiiiighly recommend!

Google
The friendliest staff, exceptional service, huge portions at relatively very cheap prices, and delicious food. What more could you want? This is a great staple restaurant that if I lived in Sacramento I would come here all the time to grab a quick delicious meal. I met my elderly grandpa here with some family for lunch. He is hard of hearing so they placed us in an area that was the most quiet of the restaurant. Our server went above and beyond to take care of us. Not only was she kind and helpful, she paid extra attention to care for my elderly grandpa. At the end of the lunch, she packed our leftovers for us and without even asking brought my grandpa some citron tea. She made our family feel so welcomed and cared for. The food was also delicious and had huge portions for the price. I can’t recommend enough.

I love JJ's! Wish it was closer to me, I'd come more often! Bf and I like to order the "single bbq"-- which comes with a plate of your choice of meat, includes: cheese corn, steamed egg, tofu soup, rice, in addition to the standard banchan. The previous times that I went, it did not come with lettuce and the side of bean paste, but this time it did, as well as a side of assorted veges to grill! Bf and I are usually pretty full and content with just that! Sometimes we like to get the Spicy Chicken Wings or Cumin Lamb- both are tastey but we'd always have leftovers to take home. JJ's always a nice treat for us if we are in the area!

Google
I ordered from the all-you-can-eat menu, but even though I hadn't eaten enough, they took away my menu board. I wanted to avoid wasting food, so I asked for smaller portions, but they refused. I've been to many buffet restaurants, but I've never experienced service like this. They mostly use frozen meat. When the previous owner ran the place, both the service and the quality of the meat were excellent, but now it's very disappointing.

Google
This was our second time at JJ's and it did not disappoint. The first time we visited we did the Lunch AYCE and thought everything was delicious!!! The sides, the quality of meat?? Perfection! AND we thought it was a steal for $25/person because of how much food you get and everything was just really good. Now tonight was different... We did the single BBQ option and had pork belly as the only meat it came with BUT it had so much more sides like corn cheese and steamed egg which were also 🔥🔥🔥 best part? All for $36+ tax and tip. We went home very full and very happy with our decision to visit again. Service was great on both times too! They were very attentive. Will be back to bring friends with us. The only con was their tofu soup, it was bland but I wouldn't let that take away from all the good stuff 👍🏼

I've been to many kbbqs both around Sacramento and in K-town LA. This is by far the best kbbq place in Sacramento. It has a very high level of traditional flavors and care for the ingredients. It's not your typical kbbq place that has strong flavors and marinades. JJs marinades accentuates the high quality meats they provide. Yes some of the unmarinated meats comes out frozen but that is how you cut meat consistently thin. Despite it being frozen you can tell they use quality meats because the brisket incredibly beefy and melts in your mouth. The thin pork belly incredible clean pork flavor. The marinated meats all came out fresh and unfrozen unlike most places in town. Their sides and cold noodles were fresh and the broth was clean and balanced between tangy, sweet and salty. Probably the best I've had so far. Service was absolutely fine for us but it's definitely a no frill place. Come here if you're a real foodie.

Google
I really enjoyed my dinner here. I ordered Pork Belly with Kimchi and bean sprouts. The meat are so fresh. I also ordered spicy numbing beef noodle, and I love it so much. Servers are all kind. I’m looking forward to visiting again to try the other items on the menu.

Google
The best KBBQ in sac that I've had. They hit the mark on almost everything only I can "complain about " is they lack side dishes but I'm not mad after everything I eat I didn't miss them only made a note when they brought them out after that I was in food nirvana. The staff was very kind and fast. I'm so happy to come back and enjoy them again soon.

Heather M.

Yelp
This is hands down the best AYCE in the Sacramento area. Nothing is too sweet, the sides are always so fresh. Amazing pickles and bean sprouts. Everything works perfectly with each other and nothing is overpowering. Their marinades are the best. I LOVE their cold noodles. So refreshing!! The service is always great too, and I appreciate that they're attentive to the grill heat so nobody smokes up the restaurant.

Yelp
Came in at the tail end of the lunch hour and was able to order from the lunch menu. Pretty cheap prices for there food! Inside is quite small and each table had a grill since they do KBBQ too. It can get a bit loud when the place isn't even that busy because of the walls echoing the voices. Anyways I ordered the seafood tofu soup and it was a bit bland. So I was disappointed about that. Not very spicy either when I ordered it very spicy. Tucked in the corner of a little shopping plaza, lots of parking available.

Yelp
My son wanted to take me out for an early birthday dinner. My husband picked this place, originally because he saw charcoal bbq pics. We arrive and it's a hole in the wall. We walk in and it looked like I was at my friend's Korean Auntie's restaurant. Service was great. I asked for more bean sprouts and the lady said they were out. About 40 mins later she came back with some, said "freshly made for you." Wow.. The beef brisket melted in my mouth. It was so buttery, from its own fat marbling at the right kind of temperature. Only thing that could have made this perfect 5 stars, would have been charcoal grills. However, still considered the best KBBQ AYCE around! I don't usually Yelp, but I knew I had to say something about this place. Or should I have kept this little secret amazing spot to myself? Also, the BEST steamed egg I've ever had! I'll leave you with this photo.

Yelp
One of more authentic korean food. The side dishes are legit, and not the americanized versions.

Yelp
Great Korean food and their jajang mein is on point too. Not many Korean spot I'd recommend but love the food. Will def come back.
google avatar

Manisha K.

Yelp
I love their chicken wings so much it's the best wings I have ever had. It's perfectly seasoned and crispy. The second time my boyfriend and I went here we ordered cheesy rice cakes and it def hit. The banchan is just as delicious as the rest of the food. The people working here are so polite. There's always something K-pop related playing on the TVs and it's not too loud at all. I'm surprised this place is not as busy as I thought. They are quick in bringing the food out. I def will be coming back to try more food next time.

Great food and service! I enjoyed the jjajang myun and tangsoo yook so much! I'd definitely come back here!

Yelp
This place is amazing! Highly recommend the bulgogi and the spicy pork bulgogi! This is my favorite kbbq place in Sacramento. The kimchi is so tasty. Customer service is fantastic and the quality of the meat is amazing. Can't wait to come back and try some of their non ayce menu items.

Yelp
We went here once pre-pandemic and the tableside kabob grilling was a cool experience, but somehow we never made our way back until now. Our friend picked this spot so we were expecting the kabobs. Much to our surprise it's actually an AYCE KBBQ spot now! They have two menu options at $34.99 or $39.99 so it's definitely on the pricier end compared to the other AYCE places in Sacramento. They do have quite a few non-BBQ options as a part of the menu, like cold noodles, cheesy ramen, tofu soups, rice cake, and more, so I think that does help justify the price range. The beef was all pretty good. We went with the B Menu because of the LA galbi but I'm glad we were also able to get the spicy rice cake. The ramen was also super yummy, and had a kick to it, I wish I knew what brand it was! I liked their meat dipping sauce as well. I wasn't a big fan of their banchan selection, it was pretty weak compared to other restaurants, but at least they had radish wrap. Service was okay, we were the only table in the restaurant but it still took some time for them to come back to take our order. There were two ladies but they were going around to tables looking or fixing something so it was hard to flag them down. I liked that they have dry erase markers for the menu so you can just mark what you want, but she kept taking our menus so we weren't able to mark stuff ahead of time. I think it was a tasty meal but I would rather go somewhere closer for cheaper price and for more meat selection. The extra food items are nice but I don't need to get those at an AYCE place.

Yelp
Great all you can eat KBBQ the steamed egg good texture love the pork jowl and the beef Blue House KBBQ and JJ KBBQ is now my go to great service the owner is nice too

Yelp
Dined here and celebrated my husband's birthday. The service was slow because only 1 server was there to attend to everyone's needs and all the tables which were a lot. Luckily, it was not a full night. The single server also did the meat cutting (we think). The stoves were slow to cook too. As for the taste, it's not that special too; some were tasty, some were mediocre. For the price, I'd say it's not that worth it since this place has higher rates than other AYCE places.

Yang Y. X.

Yelp
We got the ayce for $40. The food consisted of your standard kbbq meat options, nothing spectacular. The list was shorter than other kbbqs I've been to. Unlike other kbbqs, you had to order the appetizers instead of having it already there for you which was slightly irritating as we were starved when we got there. I really wished they had fish tofu but they had your standard kimchi and beans. I tried their tofu soup and it was literally bland, no salt or anything. The kimchi tofu soup was better. Service was slower than usual, despite us being the only other group there besides two others. The whole time we were there the grill probably only got switched out like 2 times resulting in a few charred meats. Which brings me to another point and its that the dine in time is 1 hour and 30 minutes. My group definitely felt rushed, but luckily we didn't got ask to leave and they didn't bring in the check until around 2 hours in. Overall, all the little things added up, and when I compared this place with all the other kbbq place + their prices that I've been too, this was probably the worst place I've been to. I would only go here if there are no other kbbqs nearby and I'm desperate and craving for kbbq.

Yelp
Ordered from their menu instead of the AYCE, the spicy chicken, lamb stir fry and bulgogi were delicious. The staff was friendly and the food tasted great. Would come again

Miguel D.

Yelp
Probably the most authentic Korean food in Sacramento area and they have AYCE KBBQ! The owner always serves us here and is always very nice and welcoming. Feels like your mom is serving you your food!

Yelp
JJ Korean BBQ is located in a plaza, however, the restaurant was a little hidden. There's plenty of parking in the lot. They offer an exclusive menu of Korean Creations including AYCE Korean BBQ, Noodle & Soup Hotpot, Bibibap, Kimchi Pancakes, and so much more! The owner is the sweetest lady and her mission is to create an exceptional dining experience centered around the art of Korean BBQ. They have a lunch and dinner menu so make sure to check which serve you would like to come for! If you're not a fan of all you can eat bbq they also have lunch specials like bulgogi rice box that you can get instead! Typically at most AYCE bbq places I've been to they have a gas stove for you to cook on, this place uses electric, which I had no problem with. The service was amazing and the waiter was super friendly. Here's what I ordered: Corn Cheese Soy Pork Belly Black Angus Brisket (fav) Cheese Ramen Spicy Beef Bulgogi (fav) Cajun Shrimp Cajun Chicken (fav) I really enjoyed their marinated meat and the unique flavors that they have. Definitely would recommend stopping by JJ Korean BBQ for lunch or dinner to delight your taste buds with their exquisite menu!

Yelp
It's OK. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend or go again. We had a party of 8 guys and we're only allowed to order 4 meats at one time. This went by fast and we had to constantly reorder and it was very common for none of us to be eating. We believe they were purposely coming by slowly so that we wouldn't order as much, and they never seemed happy when we asked to order more. Our bill for 8 people was $465 so I would expect some better service and food quality for what we paid for.
google avatar

Drake L.

Yelp
We tried this restaurant as Oz BBQ was turning away customers due to problems with this grills and exhaust fans. The AYCE was $39.99 per person which was much more expensive than Oz but the LA Galbi was quite good. Food had a different flavor profile than Oz and we really enjoyed the meal, although a bit pricey for the area.

Dain C.

Yelp
Friendly staff, food comes out quick and most importantly taste so good! This was second time going there but will definitely go back again ! Chicken is must try!! Big portion

Yelp
Their options are great and it's never been super busy when I come at night. It's a nice authentic vibe with delicious korean food.

Zeeohuay T.

Yelp
Went to Jiu Jiu Korean BBQ for lunch and they have lunch specials. I got the black bean noodles for $10. And it was full of flavors with some crispy pork belly and veggies. Noodle texture is perfect, not too soft. It was more savory than sweet which is what I preferred. Definitely not expecting this for $10. So worth it!

Yelp
This was an interesting experience. We came here expecting a typical AYCE KBBQ experience. It wasn't that. No wait on a Friday night at 7:30. Three groups of people seated. They have regular seating and seating with grills for AYCE. We were seated promptly. Our waitress gave us menus and told us to circle what we wanted with marker. We did- but they only brought us about half of what we circled. After about 15 minutes we had to call the waitress over to get the other parts of our meal. I saw pictures of Ban Chan on their Yelp... but they didn't bring us any. And when I asked for a side of japchae the waitress said they don't offer it as a side to the AYCE (even though I saw pictures of other people with it on Yelp?). They also charge extra for a side of lettuce wraps and do not offer any rice wraps at all. So we paid $40 a person for plain meat and a few choices of sides? Usually AYCE Korean bbq has too many sides to choose from! We were very disappointed. The waitress didn't seem to understand much English. Which is difficult when you're trying to order food. By the time they brought out the rest of our order we just wanted to get the check and leave. I wasn't able to order a drink because our waitress didn't come to our table to ask if we wanted one. We clearly saw several other male workers around the restaurant doing other things.. so we weren't sure if they were understaffed or just not prepared. Either way we won't be returning. $100 for two pieces of galbi, one plate of beef bulgogi, potstickers, kimchi and bean sprouts. Oh... AND I just checked our receipt. They charged us $17 for "shengjian bao" which are bao buns. We didn't even order any!!!! No thanks

Edith J.

Yelp
I think Jjajangmyeon there is best in the town. Delicious and price is really good. Definitely go back. More like Chinese-Korean menus.
google avatar

Brianne S.

Yelp
It was my first time having Korean BBQ, and this place was delicious. They have a dry seasoning that you can add, which provides immense flavor. My sister loves their homemade pickles, which is more of a pickled root veggie, but amazing. The brisket was my favorite of their mean options. I'd go back again, for sure.
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
The ladies were nice but the food was not good. The jajungmyeon lacked black bean paste flavor and was overly sweet. It did have a decent amount of pork but it sadly didn't taste like jajungmyeon. The bibimbap also tasted strange. It was overly sweet too. I didn't have their AYCE. The side dishes were fine. I won't be coming back to this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
We found an alternative Korean BBQ location and don't have to deal with the long wait times! Jiu Jiu also offers dishes for those that don't benefit from the expensive all you can eat Korean BBQ choice. The location isn't ideal, their restaurant is located at the back corner. It's about 1/2 the size of other BBQ locations but we'll worth the drive. But they are open later than other restaurants. We ordered normal dishes and still received Ban Chan (Korean Side Dishes). We ordered many dishes including the La Galbi, Bulgogi, Deep Fried Shishamo, Tteok-Bokki, Haemul-Pajeon, Sundubu Jjigae, and Bibimbap. Side dishes and water arrived within a minute after our order and the dishes started arriving 15 minutes afterwards. The food was made fresh and we appreciated most of the items served hot on an iron skillet with a wooden under-plate. Although there was nothing new or exciting or different, we liked the traditional Korean dishes, friendly waitress, and no wait.
google avatar

Caren Gale C.

Yelp
If you go to kbbqs for galbi like I do, you will be paying a little bit more, $48/person, compared to the usual kbbq restaurants in town like Oz and Blue House. They were also charging extra for lettuce so I opted for their side salad. The Japchae was also an extra charge and not considered a side dish. The food is definitely really good and tastes home-made. Unfortunately for the price I probably wouldn't choose to eat here again, hence the 4-star rating. The service was good, and it seemed to be family owned. I would love to come back if they adjusted their prices to be more competitive with the popular korean bbbq spots in town.
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
Decided to give JiiJiu another chance and they did not disappoint. They might have a new ownership, not sure. But they definitely have a new updated menu from when I first came a year ago. You have the option to either bbq your own kebabs, have them cook it for you & bring it out, or have them precook it for a little and then you can bbq it till it's fully cooked. I recommend ordering: - K2 Beef Kebabs - M9/M10 Cold Noodles - M26 Fried chicken wings with spicy sauce I don't recommend: - M11 Fried rice (it was super bland) - M1 Pan fried buns (it was way too doughy and bland) Great place to come for dinner.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Pretty solid KBBQ. The meat quality is fair for the price, and the sides are exceptional. We probably ordered 7+ rounds of the bean sprouts. My favorite meat was the marinated pork belly - it wasn't too thick and had a perfect sweet and salty flavor. The servers are very attentive as well, which is essential with AYCE. It was quite quiet when we went, and the place felt clean.
google avatar

Rachelle P.

Yelp
On Friday my boyfriend and I decided to stop in for date night. I ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap. The beef was absolutely flavorful and mouthwatering and came out out sizzling hot! It was loaded with lots of marinated veggies, perfectly cooked egg, fluffy rice and the gochujang was sweet like candy! The banchan was decent, my favorite was their kimchi! I would recommend this small, local authentic Korean restaurant, they have been in business for some time now! Support small and local, we will be back!

Dorothy J.

Yelp
The chicken teriyaki is very good. I didn't care for the beef! The service was excellent and the food truck was clean and the people friendly!
google avatar

Pam K.

Yelp
I took my sister here because she wanted to eat Korean bbq however this is definitely a Chinese Korean joint judging by the menu and the workers. We had planned on eating a lot (which we did) and I believe there was a great miscommunication early on during our meal. We ordered the seafood pancake (too much batter/not crispy) and gopchang jeongol (lots of extras not typically seen ie rice cakes, udon noodles, really delicious) as well as the ayce bbq. I did initially feel as if we were being judged however I spoke up and the lady who was serving us made sure to be accommodating so everything ended up working out. They apparently don't bring out any banchan unless you circle what you want on the menu. They also serve canned soda opposed to fountain soda here which I'm not a fan of. Service can be slow and forgetful so just make sure you voice your needs. Food was good overall.
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Ordered the beef bulgogi. It was good, not great but still pretty good. Portion size was appropriate for the price. Would order again next time I'm in the area, would like to try the chicken bulgogi.
google avatar

Yelp
So amazing lovely staff and delicious food will be back again! Fresh and well priced. Many sides and sauces and fast refillls

Yelp
Came here 2 hours before closing. A little Susss since it's in the corner of a giant empty parking lot. Upon entering was a warm greeting from the older Asian lady. A little confused by how we can do unlimited. But once that was sorted out, you have an Option A Lunch all you can eat and Option B which includes Lunch and Dinner All you can eat. Option is definitely worth it. More options and don't have to feel limited on choices. A little different is that the sides are not on the table and must order sides all separate. Limits waste of in eaten sides which is good. Selection of meat was good and had all the popular items most people get. I ordered: - Pork Belly - Thin Sliced Pork Belly - Galbi Short Ribs - Bulgogi - Angus Beef - Ribeye - Egg Soup - Spicy Tofu Soup - Kim Chi - Salad - Rice - Garlic Cloves What they can improve: - Wished they included Japché in the AYCA - Wished they used Kadoya Sesame Oil with salt for dipping sauce. Enhances flavor of the food Their bathroom was the cleanest bathroom out of all the restaurants I have been to. That's how I know if their kitchen is clean. If they take care of the bathroom, you know darn well they take care of their kitchen cleanliness
google avatar

Yelp
So delicious and filling. The staff is super amazing and were very kind. We had the short ribs and steak and pork belly really great The kimchi was some of the best I've ever had

Yelp
one star is directly for the service our waitress was super nice. if you order the skewers, NOTE: you need order 5 or more to bbq tabletop! less than 5 then they cook it in kitchen then bring out. since we wanted to cook ourselves we ordered: chicken hearts, gizzards, lamb, and beef. *the beef was good! *i didnt try the lamb but my fam said tasty. *hearts i wish was marinated a bit *dumplings were good - see photo because i forgot name

Yelp
Even though the lunch hours are from 11:00am to 3:00pm, they are still open for service after 3:00pm. I came in around 3:10 during peak heat and ordered cold noodle (Naengmyoen). And oh boy, that hit the spot!! The buckwheat noodles were thin and chewy, unlike their regular ramen noodles. The broth was cold and had a sour taste from the pickled daikon. The beef was tender. The cucumber was refreshing. I didn't use the extra condiments that they gave, which were a bottle of yellow mustard and a bottle of white vinegar. Because the broth is a little bit too sour for my liking, I chose to eat the broccoli and bean sprouts from the banchan to balance the sourness. Mmmmm... Everything in that bowl was so cold but came together so well to beat the outside heat! Overall, I had a great experience there, definitely would come back again. Food- 5/5 Service- 5/5 ( really attentive and accomodating!) Atmosphere- 5/5 (chillax vibe with Kpop playing in the background)

Yelp
The only late opening korean restaurant I love. Been here so many times. The food are all excellent and the service is great.

Yelp
I wish that I was able to take more pictures! Everything looked so good and I had to eat it right away. I didn't take a picture of the fried smelt fish and bok choy. The fish was super nostalgic to me and if you like fish, you will like it as well. It's good with and without rice. The bok choy was super flavorful and crisp. My favorite was the short rib, it came super hot and it had sooooo much flavor. I finished the beef down to the bone (nothing wasted). My friend loves the chicken here, it's really tasty! The chicken is done really well and the consistency has been the same throughout multiple times. All of the sides are delicious and the server asked us if we wanted something more of that we enjoyed. Nancy was our server and she was so friendly. She was easy to talk to about the food and gave amazing recommendations. Nancy gave us top tier service and made this experience so special. I would definitely recommend this if you are looking to try new food or just be in a place with good quality food. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly.

Yelp
Pros: Excellent food! Fresh and marinated to perfection! I enjoyed everything we ordered and cooked. Cons: I am not a newbie to Korean BBQ, and expected to have my choices picked up either from buffet, or serving area. Instead everything was brought to the table, and not everything was brought in an order I would have done myself. For $100 dinner for 2 this was unacceptable... Plus, had to ask and wait for the forks for at least 20 minutes.... If service would've been faster and provided us with side dishes when we actually needed them, not after we finished the meats, I would have given it 5 stars.
google avatar

Jay K.

Yelp
Fantastic Kbbq and service You can order off the menu and not have to AYCE if preferred We keep going back, all the way from Roseville too Open late for your cravings

Yelp
The location is in an unassuming corner of a strip mall, but don't skip this place for a delicious KBB experience. We came for the all you can eat dinner, the three of us each picked out some meat, and we had fun grilling it up and sharing with each other. Our server was very nice and attentive, making sure to change out our grill and refilling our orders promptly. We also ordered several appetizers including spicy chicken wings, fried rice, and dumplings. Everything was delicious and seasoned nicely, they also give you a variety of sauces so you can spice things up if you like. We left very full and happy, and would be glad to come eat here again!
google avatar

Jack J.

Yelp
This review is purely for the all you can eat dinner Thesis: The meal was an unpleasant experience, the service inadequate, food options lackluster, meat quality subpar, and grossly overpriced to the competition. If you are expecting an authentic Korean bbq you will walk away disappointed. Of all the maybe fifty plus Korean restaurants I have been to this is the one that do not give you a table of Korean condiments like kimchi, bean sprouts, radish, fish cakes, The menu says 40 but of course the total with tax and mandatory gratuity was over 50 per person.
google avatar

Yelp
I would not recommend this place for Korean bbq! Limited food options for appetizer, sides, and meat especially for the price $38.99 and we came for lunch. Lunch and dinner price is the same. Never got napkins, they sat us in the back, and didn't check on us much, had to use the call button for service. We were the only customers and the service was super slow. We were able to order two rounds of food but the second order we didn't put in the full order limit for appetizer or meat because we wanted to take it slow. They never came back to check if we wanted more food after the second round. Save your money and stomach. We definitely didn't eat our money's worth. I believe this is owned by part Chinese because they weren't speaking Korean. Best thing here was the radish, jalapeno, garlic, soy bean paste, and the hot tea. We did enjoy the deep fried dumpling, LA Galbi, beef belly, and marinated pork belly. I love kimchi but their kimchi wasn't good here. Check out daikon, oz, gen, or blue house before coming here. Daikon is the best place for Korean bbq.

Yelp
This popped up as a new place in the area, so I figured I'd give it a try. I was by myself and got seated way out in left field in the back corner of the restaurant even though they weren't very busy. It didn't bother me or anything, just wondering what the thought process was on that. Maybe they thought I wanted some privacy or something. My server was attentive while I checked out the menu. He excused his poor English, but that rarely bothers me as long as I can get my point across. The menu has pictures, so I figured I could point at pictures if nothing else. Turned out in the end that his English was fine (in my opinion, anyway - certainly better than my Chinese). I agree with some of the other reviewers that the the influence seemed to be more Chinese than Korean... but examples of both were definitely available. I did not do the grill thing... there wasn't a built-in grill at the table I was at, so not sure how it would have worked if I ordered something that needed to grill myself. I assume a portable grill would appear at my table? Dunno. Maybe I was in the "don't trust this guy with fire" section. No idea. I ordered Spicy Chicken - which, by the looks of the menu, was intended to be cooked in the kitchen (and it was). My server offered to bring rice as well, but I declined... which seemed to puzzle him :) I like rice, just trying to keep the starch down. I didn't see any point in him bringing it out if I didn't intend to have much if any of it. He brought out some small plates with some sprouts, some broccoli... kimchee (or something similar) and an interesting peanut dish. I sampled from each of the dishes and before I knew it, they were gone. I've never really been a fan of kimchee... but I tried it and it wasn't bad. Before I knew it, it was gone. The main dish came out before too long and it was beautiful - piled high with bright red peppers. Tasty too - but I hope they didn't expect me to eat all of those peppers! Around the time my main dish was served, a few families showed up and they were seated more towards the front / middle of the dining room. This pulled my server away and from that point on I was more or less forgotten in the wilderness of the back corner. I'm not going to say this upset me; simply making an observation. I wasn't in a hurry to go anywhere, so I slowly worked my way through my meal and chilled for a bit. I waited quite awhile for some sort of bill... then eventually I got up and chased mine down. What I had was good... but I feel I need to explore the menu a bit more.

Yelp
To start off customer service is good and the place is clean. We were the only group in the restaurant. We ordered galbi and kodari gui . Galbi is kind of expensive for the small portion you get compare to other nearby k-bbq restaurants. Kodari gui (pollock) is fishy and boney, I would have preferred the mackerel if they had it in their menu. There are four side dishes served: peanuts, bean sprouts, zucchini, and kimchi. All of the side dish were bland except for the kimchi. The overall price for the portion and a miss with the side dishes and kodari gui will be the reason for the three stars. Hopefully, they will adjust pricing based on the quality of food that you get on a typical restaurant and location as well.

Yelp
Husband picked this spot as we wanted to try something new. It's a new restaurant, nicely spaced. You have the option of bbqing your own meats or having your meats prepared by the kitchen. Unfortunately the menu is not in English except for the name of the dishes and the very friendly servers speak incredibly limited English. I noticed the patrons around me were either familiar with the language or brought their ethnic friend who can be their meal guide, lol. Other than that, it's fun and cool. Beware that the hot and cold noodles are basically large pho/soup bowls. You get an assortment of sides with your bbq. They also give you a glove you can use. We ordered the following kebabs: lamb, marinated beef and chicken. We also added the hot noodles and the lamb with cumin. One Diet Coke and regular coke. The kebabs were really good and enough meat on the skewers. The chicken we didn't think had any flavor, the marinated beef was so delicious, and the lamb was really tasty without being gamey. Next time, I would just get the marinated beef and lamb. Dishes can quickly add up. Many kabobs were 5 skewers for $9.99 or ten for $19.99. Most items were 10, 15, 20 etc. They also had regular entries like bolgogi, pork steamed buns etc. Cons: Would nice to have more translations, servers who can speak well enough to explain/answer your questions, more side veggies, maybe even just fried noodles without being a soup so you can have with your kabobs. Otherwise it's a friendly, clean spot with good meats.
