Gourmet marketplace with cafe fare, famous Chinese chicken salad
"Eating lunch at Joan’s on Third regularly is basically a graduation requirement. This gourmet market and cafe is where you go for classic sandwiches and salads (the club and Chinese chicken salad are our go-to’s), pastries, people watching, and the 3rd Street shopping that awaits you after your meal." - katherine lewin
"We can hear you rolling your eyes through the computer screen, but you can’t mention lunch in the West Hollywood area without mentioning Joan’s. This place was a social media scene before we even knew what social media was, but despite the people gathering content for their feeds, we’ll keep coming back again and again. Place your order at any of the counters inside (the Chinese Chicken Salad is the obvious move, but you can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches either), hover for a seat on the sidewalk, play celebrity bingo, and save room for cake. This place is a classic for a reason." - brant cox
"Holy sh*t. You did it. Your hard work paid off and you did it. You found the Basic epicenter of the entire LA basin – Joan’s On Third. Don’t misunderstand us though, Joan’s On Third is great. This salad/soup/sandwich food emporium is bordering on cult status these days and it’s because of delicious food, a great environment, and plenty of time to Snapchat while you’re waiting for a table." - brant cox
"A longtime favorite of project lead Mario Del Pero, this marketplace concept will sell pre-made foods at the new location in the style of its Studio City and West Third marketplaces, offering familiar ready-to-eat options for diners seeking convenience and quality." - Matthew Kang
"Joan’s might have a reputation for being basic, but we prefer to think of it as classic. Sure, there are plenty of tourists mistaking people in sunglasses for actual celebrities, and there’s nothing on the menu you wouldn’t find at every other brunch spot, but there’s something about the circus (and still very solid food) that keeps us coming back. Order a fried egg sandwich inside, put your name down for a seat outside, keep your sunglasses on, and wait for someone to ask for your autograph." - jess basser sanders, amy clark, brant cox
