Wherewithall Restaurant in Avondale Exhilarates a Critic - Eater Chicago

"Suburban doughnut maker Joe Donut also serves as an affable breakfast spot. Mike Sula visits the business’ second location in Niles and finds a variety of morning delights. The eponymous items, from old-fashioneds to strawberry glazed, “can stand up to any in the city’s doughnut establishment.” But “there’s a showmanship baked into” many of the other dishes, such as an omelet boasting a caramelized three-cheese blend. Breakfast potatoes are “irregular deep-fried nuggets of shredded baked spud, crispy but soft inside.” The biggest hit, though, is a sandwich that’s “a degenerate alliance of everything that screams for your attention.” It features a French-toast style yeast doughnut packed with ham, burnt cheese, and raspberry preserves." - Jeffy Mai

Google
Joe Donut offers breakfast and lunch items as well as a variety of coffees and donuts. A lot of the donuts were sold out around 12:30pm on a Saturday. The breakfast items seemed to be a bit more worth the cost as they came with pancakes while the burger was just the burger and no fries. The burger presentation was a bit awkward with ingredients falling off before it got to the table. Definitely was a bit of a challenge to consume. Despite the presentation, it tasted good. The chairs make an awful sound while moving across the floor, which would be bearable if it was just the customers moving them, but a worker was cleaning around us for a long time just dragging the chairs around, which was very loud and not pleasant. I would visit again but perhaps only for a breakfast item.

This place has gone down tremendously. Used to love coming here, usually get it to go because the whole sitting area is set up weird and you never know what’s expected but apparently you do everything yourself and they just bring you your plate. Everyone who works there looks like they don’t want to be there, and the breakfast burritos used to be delicious and hearty, now they have cheaped out on how they use to make them, they are tiny now. Very upsetting, will still get donuts to go in a box but can’t wait until the location on Dempster opens up.

Google
A must-try spot in Niles, Joe's Donuts serves up delightfully tasty treats that live up to the hype. The service is impressively quick, getting you in and out in no time with a smile. Their donuts, the stars of the show, are fresh and packed with flavor. The overall atmosphere is perfectly casual and inviting for a relaxed morning stop. For a delicious donut experience without the fuss, Joe's is a definite winner. It’s a simple, no-frills spot that delivers on taste and a welcoming vibe.

First off, I want to compliment the young lady who took my order—she was very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful, which I really appreciated. I ordered the ham, egg, and cheese biscuit, which was phenomenal. I also picked up a Joe Dozen (which includes 16 donuts), and I have to say, they looked amazing! However, my biggest issue was with the s’mores donut. It had a strong, unpleasant smell—something like wet dog—which seemed to come from both the chocolate and the marshmallow. None of the other donuts had this issue, but the smell was a major turnoff. I took a couple of bites and ended up throwing the rest away. I may consider visiting another location in the future, but I definitely won’t be ordering the s’mores donut again. Something about that recipe needs to be revisited.

Google
I get charged $10 for three donuts and the disinterested teenager running the register stuffs them in a bag. They must have been fresh out of oven, because this is how they looked when I get them home... Fun start to birthday morning for my boys :(

Google
This place is great! It's cafeteria style. You go up and order and take the number to your table. Staff will bring you your order. It's definitely a treat, not a place you can go daily. The portions are immense. The donuts 🍩 are delicious! So many kinds and reasonably priced. You can literally share any entree or make 3 meals of it. The biscuits and gravy were delicious. The biscuits are homemade on site, as are all of the donuts. They potato sides are crunchy and decadent. People were coming in droves to pick up boxes of donuts! Will have to do that myself. Definitely check it out! You will enjoy it!

Google
2023 Update: I've ordered donuts for pickup, and now eaten breakfast in the dining area here. The staff has always been friendly, and the food is as good as the donut selection. I had the Sidecar Biscuits, which were awesome. The coffee was not the best; apparently by Big Shoulders, which I usually like. Other than that, I really like everything here. Sometime circa 2021: The food is decent, the service is pretty standard. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and sat at a table in the back. They brought the wrong sandwich and no condiments. I was in and out multiple times. The outdoor table area is kind of dumpy and there's no shade. I'll stick with donuts to go from here.

Google
Well what to say...First when you walk in you take a Big menu before you seat you have to choose your order pay get table # then choose your drink or put together your coffee then get your own sliver ware then sit they well bring your plate then when done put your own dirty dishes/silverware in bin make sure to Separate. The view when eating is a cemetery

Yelp
Cool coffee & donut place - I'm a coffee & donut guy. They have several tricked out donuts that kids will love. I had cinnamon & sugar. It was good & I'll be back.

Yelp
Joe Donut is on Milwaukee and you literally cannot miss it. There is a small parking lot in the back. At peak times, parking is tough! When you walk in, you walk towards a wall with the coffee creamer/sugar bar straight ahead. You take a left and there's a donut case and the register area. While there are two registers, there was only one open both times I was there. There is a menu on the wall and between the registers. I really want to love Joe Donut, and their downfall both visits was unfortunately the staff experience. No one really seems to want to be there, didn't really feel like I could ask questions about the menu, and didn't especially feel welcomed (more like another table to clean). The menu is incredible, with a ton of unique options for breakfast. Between my partner and I, we've tried four separate menu items and they were all delicious. Over-easy eggs cooked stunningly. Their breakfast potatoes are maybe battered then fried, but super delicious and golden brown. And as a southerner transplanted in Chicago, I'm delighted to find biscuits and gravy in any capacity in the Midwest. Kudos to all the kitchen staff for every dish they've put out for me! We will probably be back because the food is good, but with the service there are other options in town who we feel value customers and their experience more that will stay more frequent in the brunch rotation.

Yelp
Once you enter Joe Donut, you'll have to line up to get your order in at the counter. There are menus available as you wait in line and of course, the donuts are on display. They will give you a number which you'll place on your table. Food will be served on your table but the drinks will have to be picked up at the counter. Ordering is fast and easy but parking can be a challenge especially for weekend brunch. The menu looks good but for me personally, the choices are limited as to what I will typically eat for breakfast. On my visits here, I've tried the Burnt Cheese, Cowboy Breakfast, Southern Lovin Biscuit, and pancakes. They were filling and were just ok. Their coffee is strong and very god though. The place is clean and the service is efficient even if they're always busy. I would recommend this place to those who like the food that they offer besides their specialty donuts.

Yelp
Came in for a weekday breakfast before 10am. The place had a decent amount of people there already. When you arrive you do all your ordering at the counter and can then find a seat. I ordered the Joe Pothole. This seemed like a large amount of food when it came out, much bigger than the biscuit sandwiches and even the skillets. The food was good and tasty and plenty of it to eat. They have a wide variety of menu items to chose from. The coffee is also help yourself. We also grabbed a couple of donuts too.

Yelp
Amazing food, portion, service too The over all experience is great would give it a 5

Yelp
I came here with my toddler for breakfast. I called ahead of time to ask if they had wifi and I was told they don't. I ordered a caramel high rise coffee drink for myself and a biscuit breakfast sandwich. It came with two chicken sausage patties, a fried egg, bacon, and cheese. The bacon was a little too crispy and dry for my taste so I think it might not have been prepared fresh. The sandwich was good but maybe could've been better with fresh bacon. I wish I ordered the southern comfort biscuit instead. I ordered a stack of pancakes and a side of bacon for my daughter. She enjoyed the pancakes but just like my dish, her bacon was also crispy and dry. The drink was good but it was served extremely hot so I couldn't drink it right away. I also took some donuts home on my way out!

Yelp
Donuts are very good. Last year there was a rumor they took off their maple bacon donut from their list of offering. Lo' and behold, this afternoon, they had their last one for grabs. It was so moist, salty and sweet and the bacon crunch. Mmmmm Other donuts were very good as well. Always fresh any time of the day. Their pick up service is quick and friendly. If dining in, service is good too and so is the ambiance. They have their own parking lot. Sometimes in the weekend mornings, it is hard to find parking but eventually someone will leave and you'll get a spot.

Yelp
I randomly stopped here for breakfast while I was just driving around and it did not disappoint. I got a biscuit sandwich and it was so good. It was really big so I couldn't eat it all but it was very flavorful. I also got a side of pancakes. The pancakes were ok no big deal. But the sandwich was great. The restaurant was quiet it was just a few people. Service was ok. You order your food and they bring it to your table so you don't really see anyone after that.

Yelp
Great spot with fun donuts and breakfast. Everything is super good and pretty quick. However, they do get crowded and busy so be prepared for that.

Yelp
Came here on the way H Mart for a quick brunch at a new place for us. I got the SideCar biscuit, which comes with chicken, an egg, and bacon. On top of the whole thing is their gravy. I thought chicken was cooked very nicely, and their biscuits were pretty good for sandwiches. I ran into problems with the gravy. It was supposed to be country gravy, but it lacked the good flavor of country gravy. I was very dissatisfied with the gravy, which made the rest of the sandwhich taste off. The gravy was loaded with onions, which I wouldn't normally associate with that style of gravy or on a biscuit sandwich. Despite my experience with this sandwich, I tried my girlfriend's biscuit, and it was much better. I would come try this establishment again, but never get that biscuit again. I also tried one of their lattes. It was very milk heavy and I couldn't taste the coffee in it. Food service was fast, and you ordered and paid for your food before you sat down. We got the strawberry and fruity pebbles donuts as well. The fruity pebbles donut tasted just like a bowl of the cereal, and the dough in general wasn't too heavy. Overall, I'd recommend trying out the place, but I don't recommend the gravy.

Yelp
Tried Joe Donut for the first time today the one in Niles and it was DOOO-LICIOUS! We had the breakfast burrito , Cowboy breakfast , and the chicken and waffles . We got the original coffee in 16oz and we also grabbed doubts on the way out 1/2 dozen of joes donuts! This is the only location that sells food and IT'S AMAZING! The service is fast and they're really nice! The ambiance is a cute breakfast place you just want to sit and enjoy your time at!

Yelp
First time in a Joe Donut. I probably came in at 12:30 PM, and they close at 2 so I wasn't expecting a huge selection of donuts, they still had some in the case, but not much. I tried three - a chocolate old fashioned, a sprinkle donut and I think one was a peanut butter cake donut. The chocolate old fashioned honestly wasn't very good. The glaze was still wet and fresh, but the old fashioned had no crisp edges, it was actually soft all around and spongey and appeared stale. The peanut butter cake donut seemed similar.. a little spongey.. great topping but the donut wasn't very good. The sprinkle donut was wonderful. Very fresh, soft and cakey with crisp edges. So I suppose it depends on what time you go - maybe the other donuts would have been better earlier in the morning. I'll be sure to come in early next time to give them another try. The staff was very friendly and I love that there is a donut shop so local.

Yelp
We came 20min before closing to grab a chicken sandwich and other delicious options but before we could order dessert, they cleared it away. They have fresh donuts daily as they went into the trash before I could grab one. Service was fast and efficient as they were friendly and patient for us to eat and go without us feeling rushed. Definitely be back when I'm in the area as the place is super clean too.

Yelp
They ran out of donuts when I went here but I still ordered some breakfast. The breakfast burrito was tasty and filling. The lemon blueberry flapjacks were a nice sweet addition. The mango joe tea was so fricking good, I had to control myself to not drink all of it in one sitting. My favorite were the potatoes because they were very unique; it had a donut texture to it. I thought that if the potatoes were this good , the donuts probably are even better. I have to come back to try the donuts! Service was fast and the place has a homey feel to it.

Yelp
Food was good. Staff were sub par at best. Unfriendly not helpful. Seemed annoyed they had to work.
google avatar

Richard J.

Yelp
Some coworkers and I found COCKROACHES crawling on the donuts. Manager blames it on the donuts being shipped it. So obviously it's not a fresh produced product. Doesn't matter. Do better and CHECK YOUR PRODUCT. The health department has already received a phone call.

Yelp
Food was great and big portions Customer service was great Tables are large for a gathering

Yelp
The food is good!!! The doughnuts are very good and have all types of flavors. The atmosphere is ok very loud and not friendly. The service employees need to be additionally happier smile and greet customers not look miserable when taking orders.
google avatar

Yelp
a nice fast casual spot for breakfast!! you order at the counter and they give a number to take to your table if you're eating there! you have to grab your own utensils and water as well the biscuit is super buttery and loved the flavor combo while the egg was fluffy! and they're known for their sandwiches so would recommend best value breakfast here though would definitely be the skillet and can be shareable as you get the skillet and pancakes or a biscuit. we loved the breakfast potatoes as they make them crispy, but they're not hashbrowns or tater tots. love the chalua to add on!
google avatar

Patti O.

Yelp
Quick service! The coffee is pretty good, although I ordered a large cold brew and the cup was so small (forgot to take a pic) so that was a bit disappointing. The food was ok; I got the "Fun Guy" biscuit and I felt like the biscuit was overpowering and a bit dry. Some gravy on it would have evened it out a bit. I remember being more satisfied with their food a few years ago.
google avatar

Brian D.

Yelp
Ordered donuts and was pretty impressed. I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had, but very solid here. Fresh and you can tell they put a lot of time into the small things. A little on the sugary side for me but the Old Fashioned were probably my favorite followed by the sprinkle. Would order again!
google avatar

Yelp
Food. The food was so salty we did not risk buying doughnuts. The fried flavorless breakfast potatoes, another bad idea. Don't do it. And further adding yuk to no yum. The coffee. Bad coffee with the name Joe Donut? No sir.

Yelp
Out and about on a Saturday morning and breakfast sounds so good... but I didn't want to get something from Brunch Cafe, or another place that was going to take a while. And since The Biscuit Man closed recently, Joe Donut with its menu of biscuit breakfast sandwiches was a great option. I had the Gringo Spicy sandwich. It was good, but I might have it without the avocado if I visited again; the avocado was not as brown as it could have been, but had clearly been sliced earlier, and brown avocado just isn't appetizing. Their bacon was perfectly cooked. Most of the time if I order something with bacon, I have to order the bacon crispy or well done, otherwise its half cooked. But they cooked it perfectly which was my favorite part, I could eat the whole sandwich without taking off part of what I paid for. :) They have an ample amount of seating inside. They also have several outdoor tables for when the weather permits. There's a good deal of parking too, and the line moves pretty quickly. You order at the register and get a number for your order if you're eating in, and provide your name if you're doing takeout. I'd eat here again.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place out, but left not really wowed. I had a coffee and the Joe Pothole. The eggs were cooked perfectly over easy, the sausage gravy was flavorful, the biscuit was great in its own, the bacon was crispy but I was not a fan of the hash browns and all together the dish was meh. The flavors combined did not improve, they just melded together. Overall not bad, but not great. The service was good, the staff was very friendly and service was quick, the restaurant was clean and had a modern kind of farm-y feel. I will have to give this place another try to see how their donuts go.
google avatar

Cassandra R.

Yelp
Ordered to go and there is barely any gravy in these two small condiment cups. At least give three cups! One cup covered a half of one biscuit. They give two large biscuits but barely any gravy. Very disappointing...
google avatar

Lulu R.

Yelp
Come for the donuts, stay for the food. Brunch time can always be stressful on where to go. Sometimes I don't wanna venture into the city a fight over a parking spot to wait for a table somewhere. Joe Donut is here for all of us who are in or around Niles area. Order your food, get food, eat good food. Very simple. The menu is executed well and the location is prime. The donuts and coffee keep me coming back for more. Also those potatoes are absolutely a must try. Pastries Are always changing but always on point.

Yelp
Joe Donut has been under my radar for some time now because the parking lot is always packed. I was in the area early and decided to stop in before the regular crowds show up. A line leading to displays of donuts with different toppings. Although they look inviting, I was there for their breakfast menu. Order is placed at the register and you sit wherever you choose. The wait staff brings the order when ready. My triple bypass (as a skillet) was absolutely delicious. It consists of ham, sausage, bacon, mushroom, onion, jack cheddar cheese, with scrambled eggs and a biscuit. The portion is fairly large. I have enough leftovers for another meal. As the name suggests, I only ordered it as a treat since I watch what I eat. I have no regrets! The ambiance is relaxing with few wall decorations. Staff is very friendly and non-intrusive. There is a private parking lot which has becoming a necessity for me lately. I would definitely return to try other items on the menu.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
This is a cute little spot. Very homey feel when you walk in. The service was helpful and very nice. I got the sidecar for breakfast. The meal overall was great and a good sized portion. The chicken was good but had a very strong pickle taste to it. I would be back but would like to try something else on the menu.
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
Long time customers beware, something has changed at my beloved Joe Donut. I came this morning with my family ,as we have for the last 4 years, and received our food only to discover that the portions were half the size they used to be. If you've had the breakfast burrito, you know it is no joke. Today it was 50% tortilla, mostly filled with eggs, barely any bacon. Same went for the omelette my wife ordered. We get it, food costs are increasing; but reducing the portion size is not the way to offset that cost, people come here for the heaping servings and leftovers. Also; still no changing table in the bathrooms for kids.
google avatar

Mitchell P.

Yelp
Some better than average breakfast food oddly located within a gas station. But the pricing is absurd, even given inflation. I got an iced latte with one extra shot of espresso and it was about the size of a medium from Starbucks, and it cost $9. ONE biscuit was $5?!

Meredith C.

Yelp
We've been coming here for years. Everything on their breakfast menu is delicious. I especially like their sausages and potatoes. It is a really unique style that they fry their potatoes. We recently tried their onion rings for the first time, and it's one of the best onion rings we've ever had. They were large and crispy and fresh. I really enjoy their mini donut cups. I did notice that a few years ago the cup used to come with seven mini donuts. Now they come with four mini donuts.
google avatar

Teresa S.

Yelp
Public Announcement!!! Don't go in for breakfast or lunch, thinking that they will seat you, you will have time to read a menu and silverware will be on the table. Although it looks like a nice local breakfast restaurant, it's a fast casual spot. I had a $11 breakfast burrito that was more like a 6 in. wrap. My husband had a royal burger but he regrets not going for the double because the meat got lost in his sandwich. I'm sitting at a dirty table, with no silverware or napkins. I had to rush order in front of the cashier an now have to get up and look for silverware, and napkins, oh and make my own coffee. I guess I would be totally fine with this if it didn't look like a neighborhood family own restaurant. It should just stay as a donut shop.
google avatar

Quin B.

Yelp
I popped into Joe's on a Saturday morning to try some donuts. It was quiet and relaxed on the inside. I decided to go with a glazed donut for a benchmark comparison to other donut shops. I also purchased a pistachio old fashion. I am somewhat biased to northern raised donuts. They are larger and the texture is slightly firmer. The glazed donut was solid and I liked the pistachio old fashioned. Nothing fantastic here, but I would get donuts here again. Yum!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is great for an after church or late morning start brunch. It's a great price and very chil ambiance. The biscuits are so so good! Toppings nothing special but the bang for your buck is what makes it good. I've been two or three times with my boyfriend and he loves it here. Servers are friendly. Good overall spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Pros - service, selections, Cons - the eggs?, the donut sadly Over hyped? Try it out. So here's the deal - this place has enough business it looks like they are giving it away....stopped in on a Saturday morning. It was busy but efficiently run. Service was very friendly. Ordered a chocolate chocolate donut, Rev up and veg head. The donut tasted ok but there was no crust to it. To me a donut shouldn't be so soft that it's gummy. They also wrapped it in a way that half the chocolate topping came off on the wax paper. Flavor was there just otherwise... The Rev up ham was very good. The veg head could have had more veg. I probably should have ordered it with out the Sriracha mayo. Decent amount of avocado which is nice. The eggs in both were not great. I don't know what they use as their fat to cook the eggs but whatever it was it was overpowering. I believe they use fresh egg so I don't think the flavor was coming from fake eggs.... 22 dollars in total for all. I've had their donuts before at work and they were not as gummy. Might come back and try a different donut. Also a lot of people eating in were ordering the chicken and waffles which looked amazing.

Ritti T.

Yelp
Definitely recommend this place! Such huge portions. And so so filling. I got the sidecar biscuit, the biscuit was so big. The side of breakfast potatoes was different than I've ever had before. I got a tuxedo coffee which was delicious!!

Yelp
I recommend the donuts only. My daughter had an omelet, and the potatoes were terrible they were deep fried and did not have any flavor. I had the "sidecar" was not impressed. Very friendly staff.

Yelp
Delicious food. Yummy donuts and good service, eveything clean and very friendly. I would recommend

Yelp
Our table enjoyed a burger, a waffle and eggs on croissant. Side of fries. The food is very good but the owners/managers need to keep the place clean. Brought a handicapped person (walking issues) and the door by handicapped parking was locked. If you have this issue send someone around front and ask that the door be opened.

Mister M.

Yelp
My brain gets obese just thinking about this place. You too? Very good --like most locations. Donuts, burgers, glorious food.

Yelp
Joe Donut is right at the corner of Harms and Milwaukee Ave, with a decent sized parking lot and outdoor seating. It's also near Harms Woods, so reward yourself from a nice invigorating walk with some tasty high calorie donut. They are totally worth it! They have some very creative donuts where you can walk in and order. I ordered the variety pack and went with an oreo crumbled-glazed donut, sweet caramel old fashion donut, strawberry glazed donut, and a maple glazed bacon donut. All of them seemed fresh and I can only assume that they are, since there is an open kitchen concept, and I see the bakery in the back. Besides donuts, Joe Donut has a full breakfast menu where you can enjoy a great breakfast. Plenty of indoor seating and a full wait staff. So plenty of things to eat, besides donuts. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located near the back entrance, the men's bathroom is spacious and gets the job done. Sit or squat? Squat.

Yelp
I was blown away by the breakfast burrito! I know it's a donut place but if you have the chance, definitely get the burrito. It includes a perfect blend of scrambled eggs, potatoes, avocado, bacon, sausage, and cheese. Top it with some chohula with every bite, and you've got yourself the perfect breakfast. It was absolutely delicious and so filling that we didn't get dinner until 7 hours later. The donuts however were just alright (hence the 4 stars). We got a 1/2 dozen which I thought could be any of the donuts but they separated the 'specialty' donuts from the regular ones. I had wanted more specialty donuts but couldn't get them without paying more, which I will probably do the next time I'm in town to visit. My go-to donut place is Cranky Al's in Wauwatosa, WI, and they had better donuts (especially the old fashioned pistachio and the Nutella). The snickers donut was awesome though! For a donut place, I did wish that the donuts tasted better but the place made it up with the breakfast burrito and coffee. The coffee was AMAZING. I loved it so much and wished I got a refill before I left. I finished the entire cup in way too short of a time but it was great with the donuts.
google avatar

Domine S.

Yelp
The staff was friendly. The coffee was good. I didn't like the potato things that came with the pothole....they were different and enticing, that's why I ordered it but they weren't for me. The gravy was a little salty....but I would definitely come back. Oh and you can seat yourself but they do t take your order at the table. My partner and I sat for so long until another CUSTOMER told us you have to order at the front.....wish I hadn't let my stomach eat itself for 20 minutes before being told

Yelp
This review is for the location at 934 Illinois 83 in Elk Grove Village, because I can't seem to find that location in Yelp but I know Joe Donut has multiple locations. The one in EGV was great. Large space given where it is based, but we tried a dozen donuts (10 different types amongst those 12 donuts) and all of them were great. The S'mores, all of the old-fashioneds, the vanilla glazed, the cakes...yep, everything worked. I need to come back here and try these when Joe Donut first opens, because if they were this good at 11 AM, I'm sure they will be better fresh out of the kitchen. $22 for a dozen was very fair given that Chicago city prices have gotten ridiculous. Looking forward to another trip to the burbs!

Yelp
11/26/20 - Joe Donut is kind of a newish kid on the block. I think they've been there less then 2 years. They are located on the corner of Milwaukee & Hart. Like many places I drove by many times. This summer I was walking threw Bunker Woods and I ran into one of my neighbors a few door west of me hanging w/his buddies smokin ceegars. I guess der old ladies don't want dem stinkin up da house. Anyways we was chatting and he sez do youse want a donut? Hmmm let me think about that. I don't have to tink very long. So I sez shure thing & dats da story & I'm stickin to it. So anyway dis donut was pretty tasty and it's kind of stuck in my noggin. GO TO JOES, GO TO JOES.....so dis idea was always dere so here I am a few months latta I'm walkin threw Bunker Hill gettin my miles in & 3.6 miles here I am. Do you tink sat dis was coincidence. Nahhh I don't I planned it all along. I got the dark chocolate old fashioned donut. Delicious dark chocolate wit a nice little crunch of the da old fashioned donut. Nuttin but sweet rich (suga free (NOT)) & calorie free (NOT), but who Da hell cares it was so good. Go to Joes and get sum donuts

Yelp
We had been in for the spectacular donuts, but went for brunch. I enjoyed a veggie biscuit sandwich, my husband ordered a burger with their house made tots. (House made tots were the BOMB and worth the trip alone) donut selection was a bit thin at 1pm which wasn't so much problem for us except listening to a few patrons come in and hassle the cashier about it. 5 stars if they served decaf coffee.

Yelp
Thank goodness for the deep parking lot in the back. Because it was particularly busy the Saturday morning that we went. It was soooo busy, this guy in his 80s jumped the line and ordered. Oh well - time is of the essence for these donuts, so no worries. We ordered a half dozen but ended up with nine (9) donuts. How did that happen?? It was loud in there and I couldn't really hear the server...but I'll take it!! The donuts were great - my favorites thus far are clearly the Snickers and bacon maple. Although there are many more that I need to come back for. This place is dangerous - because I can eat 3 donuts in one sitting. We also tried the burgers - both were fine and I would get the one with an egg. My suggestion is that they need a triple patty option. I thought the double patty was still a bit too light for the beef - so please add this to the menu for us T-Rexs. The onion rings were huge and crispy - like Olympic sized rings, which is good. Finally, the tables are spaced out very well and we felt safe dining in. Hope to be back ASAP!!

Yelp
This is a great addition to the neighborhood! The only issue is that the donut selection is hit or miss depending on what they still have in stock that day, but you can always order a day ahead if there are specific things you want. The sandwich selections are varied, and the sizes generous. I usually get a breakfast one, the Gimme My Regular, with ham. The Sidecar is also excellent. My favorite donuts are the Blackberry Old Fashioned and the Salted Caramel Old Fashioned, but every one I've tried has been good. The toppings and glazes are rich, and melt in your mouth. There's usually seating available unless you arrive at peak on a weekend, and there's a parking lot in the back which makes it easy to stop by.

Yelp
Really good biscuit sandwiches. I recommend the Veg Head. You can even eat it like an omelette and then save the top biscuit bun and eat it like a pancake with syrup. Very yummy. Parking lot can get full very fast on weekends. DO NOT PARK ON FRANKS AVE (residential parking only). Local resident will call police and ticket you
