This is the best bakery in the neighborhood. Their country loaf is amazing- I get it at least twice a month for sandwiches, and they have a massive assortment of baked goods in addition to fresh bread. The cannolis and cookies are amazing- my first time here, another customer recommended I get the carrot cake and I gotta say he had it right.

The young lady behind the counter was absolutely pleasant, service went far and beyond with a smile.

You can look at my reviews, and I don’t think I’ve ever given a one-star rating, but I was definitely disappointed with the customer service I received. As soon as I walked in and asked a question about one of the cakes, I was met with attitude, as if what I was asking was a dumb question. I was never told, “We’ll be right with you,” or given any acknowledgment at all. I was left standing and waiting for about 10 minutes until I became frustrated enough to walk out. Joe’s was always my go-to spot for pastries in the area, but after this experience, I’ll have to pass.

Joe’s Bakery is basically your new breakfast BFF! Their muffin game is on point—cranberry and blueberry are my personal faves (seriously, blink and they’ve sold out!). They’ve also got a killer lineup of fresh-baked breads that make the best toast or sammie. The crew behind the counter? Super friendly and down-to-earth—always ready with a smile. And hey, if you need that caffeine kick, their fresh-brew coffee’s got your back on the go. Do yourself a favor: swing by early before the muffins do their Houdini vanishing act!

Fresh and delicious pastries, the staff is very friendly and kind. Convenient location, I stop by here at least once a week.

It looks like a neighborhood gem, located on a business street of a residential area. I got some assorted cookies and it was all fresh and not too sweet. My favorite is the pine nut tart like pastry with marzipan, the like thump print cookie with a berry jam and silver almonds. And the staff was friendly and quick. The customers were all very nice.

Best cannolis in Queens! Light, crisp, fresh shells (without that weird candy-like artificial taste) and the most amazing cream (not too sweet and definitely leans in on the ricotta). Beautifully filled and arranged, not overstuffed and oozing. My family travels from the other side of Queens just for these cannolis because there's nothing like them anywhere else!!

BEST CANNOLI EVER! And trust me, I've had quite a bit of cannoli. Delicious, fresh filling, amazing fresh shells. Bought some yesterday, came back for more today because everyone loved them. They have a large selection of pastries, cakes etc. we have been coming here for years & have never been disappointed. Friendly & knowledgeable staff. Top-tier bakery!!

This neighborhood bakery has been around for a very long time. Sadly, I didn't find them until recently when I was on a search for a lemon meringue pie for a friend's birthday. I called over a dozen bakeries and found none offering this specific pie. Finally, I called Joe's Bakery and they said they can make a fresh one with a day's notice. Though I appreciated finding the pie, I have to admit that it was way too sweet, maybe because the sugar was meant to balance the extreme tartness. If I ever order lemon meringue pie again, I will ask them to trim the tartness a bit and cut the sugar by half. Other items from the shop that I have tried include a very good rainbow cookies, some decent bread, and their not so great pignoli cookies. Service is always nice and friendly, so I plan to keep coming back to find what they do well.

Joe's Bakery is a neighborhood staple. I was nearby and remembered this bread I love from there but alas it wasn't meant to be. I had not arisen as early as other birds this morning. I settled for this pistachio croissant who was eyeing me from the counter as soon as I approached. I also rescued a slice of walnut loaf, which might contain banana, per one of the two friendliest bakery attendants I've ever encountered. Joe's is that bakery you come to when you're having parties, or for a daily breakfast staple. They'll always have something delectable for your office or holiday party contribution. Great small business, classic Italian, everything you're looking for will be found here. Next time you're in Middle Village, visit Joe's and you'll definitely be satisfied.

What can I say! The more I try different things from here, the more I fall in love with the place I had a plain croissant and a cinnamon raisin danish. They both tasted very rich and delicious. I hope they never change making these scrumptious treats!

I WISH I took a picture of my food to share but as soon as I got in the car it didn't last long. 10/10 pastries. I purchased 3 different items having no idea what they were but they were beautifully made and I'm pregnant so I eat with my eyes. They also had a fresh coffee station that I could make it exactly the way I like. I tried 3 different bakeries after Joe's' and they all fell flat in comparison. Will be making a trip back soon!

I was craving some cannoli so I stopped by here. The bakery is in a busy stretch of the neighborhood and I found parking pretty close by. The bakery has a large selection of breads, pastries and other treats including various cakes and cookies. I got some cannolis and rainbow cookies. I also got a ricotta cookie to have right there. The ricotta cookie was so delicious, with a bit of lemon in it. I'm mad that I didn't get a few more of them too lol. Excellent service, very helpful staff. If I'm in the area I definitely would stop by again.

Randomly stumbled on this hidden gem. You walk in and it's your traditional classic old school Italian style bakery. Nowadays it's hard to find one of those that's actually good. So I order about 3 cookies skeptical as always lol. Let em tell you as a pastry chef my self and a love of rainbow cookies this cookie was amazing the lemon and ricco was great I'm excited that I know now about this bakery and will be trying much more

A fine bakery in Glendale and a reputable one as well. Very old school, Italian and wonderful. Reasonable prices, large, delicious and authentic selection. Lady who owns/work there is such a good person, a real dear. I recommend, if you go in - high chance you will buy something. It all looks good Even the roll and a coffee is great. Came for some rainbow cookies and of course ended up with way more! The store is clean and well organized and everything from the cookies to cakes to breads looked amazing! Cannot wait to come back.

Absolutely love this place. Their cheesecake is just perfect. Can't get enough of it. Recently got the canoli cake for my bosses bday and he absolutely loved it. Everything here is delicious service is always excellent

Finally found an italian bakery in Queens, this place has everything, pastries, ( St. Joseph) ,cookies ( rainbows) , bread ( proscuitto) , pies, cakes......everything you would want in an italian bakery. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming , everything that I have tasted has been extremely fresh. Will be returning.

Went in for the semolina bread to bring to my in-laws in PA. Three loaves and a few Italian cookies later, we left to bring them the best that only Joe's can make.

My wife and I came here recently to get a cake for July 4th. We forgot to pick up on from our usual bakery and this was nearby our destination. It is pretty nice inside and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I went to the fridge wall and picked out a nice cake, luckily it was also in the display case. I got some sort of chocolate cake. I figure everyone likes chocolate right? HAHA I also got a tray of cookies in cellophane. Again, the person helping me was very very friendly. Absolutely no issues here! They even put a nice little plastic sign on it that said Happy Independence Day! When we finally started to enjoy our goodies, we were decently let down... The cookies were amazing! The rainbow cookies could have used some more almond paste, but otherwise all the cookies were pretty good. The cake seemed very very very dry.... Like maybe it was 3-4 days old. I know that places hate throwing things away, food waste sucks etc... But you hate to be the recipient of that old cake. The frosting was chocolatey, and pretty solid, but the sponge cake inside was either old or over baked. Would we try them again? Probably. Maybe it was just a bad experience. If we are ever needing a cake in the area again, we would probably give them another shot. Good luck with parking on the avenue hahahaha!!! All in all, a decent bakery. There aren't too many other options in the area. Service is pretty great. Great selection. Cookies were really good! Cake wasn't up to par.

Was in the area working and not many choices of breakfast so I found this bakery on yelp and got the ham and cheese croissant and it is amazing warm flakey and delicious...

Always loving coming here - huge selection of both sweets and bread. Croissants are some of the best in Queens. Never have to wait too long to get served, and service is always friendly.

There is a lovely, versatile and charming employee named Daniella who is one of the most kindest individuals I have come across. She knows how to treat everyone with utmost respect and sincere affection, regardless of age or presentation. She is incredibly patient and everyone seems to know the cashiers as well as bakers, fostering a rare sense of community. When you meet individuals like her, it is easy to have an incentive to return and try more products. The prices were boldly posted and the lemon cookies I got with my coffee were very reasonably priced and delicious. Those teardrop cookies are deceivingly complex in terms of texture and flavor. A real gem of a place.

I went in for a specific item (a three layer chocolate mousse) and was given the incorrect one (which I discovered when I got home. It was a chocolate mousse cake I believe) so I called and let them know and was told to come back to be given a new one (a thirty minute walk for me--I don't have a car). Once I returned, I was charged again for the new item I had spoken to them over the phone about (I had also decided to buy something else). It was mended because I pointed it out, but I would've liked to have seen some communication amidst the employees about the fact I was coming in (had my server not been the one to answer the phone and honor the new item). Would've been nice to have been returned the difference of the item that had been initially given to me that I hadn't asked for too (it was more expensive). I'm assuming it wasn't employees best day but service was just disappointing. They didn't even seem to know their own menu items which was why this back and forth happened in the first place. I had asked for this triple layer and was told they didn't have it when there was an entire tray full. In any case, the cake was dry and stale, and the raspberry was either bruised or rotting. A really big shame because I would have liked to have frequented this place more often.

I drove by this baker and I had to stop by to get a slice of cheesecake. I am not from the area so I took a chance on coming in ordering a slice of cheesecake. I instead ordered a whole cake because the staff was so kind and friendly. I appreciate them taking care of every client with kindness especially with the environment we are currently under. The cheese cake was amazing and delicious! Super creamy and yummy. You must give them a try!!!

Delicious!!! We had a special order cake made at the very last minute for my husband's 65th birthday. They were extremely accommodating -- ordered at 10 a.m. and was ready to be picked up for party at 5:30 pm. It was one of the best cakes I have ever eaten....it was a huge hit at his celebration dinner. Freshest of everything....whipped cream w/fresh bananas and strawberries, with a chocolate ganache top -- photo below. Their breads, pastries and cookies are also outstanding. If you live in the surrounding areas, it is certainly worth the trip. Even if you don't live in area and are visiting nearby, definitely pick up dessert to bring with you. I promise you won't be disappointed! Staff was amazing as well!!!

For 6-7 years, this was my favorite bakery. The food is very good. I even took some of their items to Long Island, Brooklyn, and Vermont to share with friends, family and my students. I often went here when I wasn't feeling well for some comfort food. However, last Sunday, when I wasn't feeling well, I called up to ask what time they were closing. The young woman who answered the phone said, "5 o'clock." I immediately rushed out of my home and got to the bakery by 4:55. The gate was already pulled down over the window. I knocked on the door and the young woman said, "We're closed." I told her that I called, that she told me they closed at 5, and showed her the time on my phone. Her response? A smug, "We're closed." No "Sorry" for the inconvenience or for telling me on the phone they were open till 5 but closing early. No empathy whatsoever. When I said, "I'll write this on Yelp," her response was, "Ok. Goodbye!" It was clear all she cared about was leaving early. I hope getting out of there 10 minutes early was worth ruining a 6-7 year business relationship. I'll take my money elsewhere from now on.

How can one judge a bakery that they have never been to? At EWR airport about to fly out and really wanted to bring home NY cheesecake. I wish I remembered the shop's name in the airport, but the girl who sold me the whole cheesecake did not lie about the quality and goodness I was about to have when I reached home. Oh my God. Thank you Joe's Bakery for making this outstanding cheesecake!!!

My husband brought home a strawberry shortcake today for our anniversary. It was so fresh and delicious! We have tried other bakeries around Queens but this did not disappoint- very light and fluffy cake and whipped cream icing. We will definitely be back!

Me and my girlfriend stopped into try there rainbow cookies and butter cookies. The rainbow cookies were amazing and just how I like them! They are refrigerated and have chocolate on the top and the bottom. The butter cookies were very good except the pistachio one. I never saw them before so I thought I would give it a try as I love pistachios. It was very bland and I could not taste the flavor at all. The staff all wear masks and are very nice and patient. They number the cookies to make the ordering process so much more simple. The prices are very reasonable too!

Cakes are delicious, however you have to make sure it's fresh. My daughter who goes these a lot, had company and ordered pasties for desert. They were STALE. She was embarrassed and upset to say the least. This is unacceptable, they made good but she wasn't NOT able to server them to her company!!!!! I also went to pick up a birthday cake, and the girl messed up the writing when putting it in the box. She was taking a long time and I HAD TO ASK her if something was wrong. Then she admitted the cake needed to be fixed. It was but she should have told me. Honesty is the best policy.

Excellent Middle Village bakery. Can't go wrong with any of the desserts found here but to me the stand out is the rainbow cookie. These might be the best in NYC, they should be in some type of competition. Loving close to Joes can be trouble as anytime you pass by you know you want to pick up something. Stop by if you haven't been.

My FAVORITE bakery in Queens. When I'm craving sweets I come out of my way to this place. They have a big selection of breads, breakfast pastries, desserts, cakes and italian pastries. Everything I've has so far is delicious. They have a big selection of cookies too if that is your thing, I recommend stopping by and giving this place a try

My husband called to order a birthday cake with lemon filing and buttercream icing. The girl who answered the phone, snapping her gum like Jeanette from Canarsie, said "I dunno if we do dat, duh bakuh ain't here you gotta call back," and click. The idiot hung up. My husband stupidly calls back, gets someone normal and orders the cake, she even said to my husband "oh I know who you talked to..." now we get the cake, it's really bad, they changed and not for the better. Lesson learned, Rudy's from now on.

Staff: Hi can I help you? Elderly man: Can I have two Charlotte Russe? Staff: You mean the store? Elderly man: What? .....two Charlotte Russe in a box please. Staff: Um, that's like, a store. Elderly man: What?....you don't have any? You sold them all? *Man walks away, and staff comments on the elderly man being delusional* Me: it's a cake normally, but bakeries used to sell them as an individual trifle in a cup. You could of just offered him those cups over there with the yellow cake, lulu cream, and fruit. It's close, but not the same. Staff employee: I know about a lot of pasteries and my family like owns this, so it's my bakery, so thank you. Is there something you wanted? I did, but not anymore. I'm just going to go make my own bread now. Dear Owners, Teach your staff to be courteous and humble to customers, especially ones that are trying to help. Not arrogant and rude.

Formerly known as Catalano Bakery, Joe's Bakery now occupies the space and similar to the previous ownership does a marvelous job with pastries and bread. The large reach in coolers remain somewhat vacant with some frozen profiterole's and a few ice cream cakes. Although I do enjoy the typical Italian cookie tray options of Pignoli, Biscotti,Pizelle, Cucidati and Butter Cookies, which Joe's does quite well, I am usually shopping for the wonderful breads. Olive bread, the Pain Rustique, Twista, Semolina and many more are sitting in the front of the store on wooden racks in full display to all passers by. The service is great, staffed most of the time by Joanne who is a 70 year old dynamo who has been working at both locations for twenty plus years. Its nice to see and hear the older Italian folks speaking in the native tongue using accelerated hand gestures to make their order known. A nice step back in time.

Nice local bakery. Whipped cream eclairs are good. Everything is pretty standard. They have great desserts and a $1 coffee and roll special everyday. Very generous with the butter. Coffee is good as well.

The first thing that struck me when I entered the bakery was how clean it is! The place is spotless. The young ladies at the counter were helpful. The customer service is good. The bakery items I picked up are amazing! I had to go back one last time before I head back to MT.

I just paid 22.00 for a pumpkin pie. Their really full of themselves. Won't be buying pre made pies again from them.

I go there often because they make good crème brûlée. but I don't appreciate the attitude of the people working there. they always say they don't have iced coffee but they actually do.

After considering other options, I decided to order a birthday cake for my 70th birthday from Joe's In Middle Village , Queens. I ordered a vanilla sponge cake with cannoli filling, laced with rum , and enveloped with whipped cream. It was by far the most delicious cake I've had in many years; beautifully decorated, and prepared with the utmost craft and professionalism. I highly recommend this establishment . It's a treasure. I love this bakery. Their stuff is not too sweet which is great and they have a wide selection with decent pricing. Their cannolis are filled to order and u can choose from different flavors like pistachio, hazelnut, chocolate, and of course regular, which is amazing. I've tried quite a few of the mini pastries and cookies. All were great. They have this olive loaf and it is soooo good. The staff is pretty friendly too. Definitely worth a try!

How can an "Italian Bakery" have TWO....not one, but TWO workers who have never even heard of Focaccia bread? I'm not Italian and even I know about it.... So I walk in there, ask if they sell that type of bread and had to spend a few minutes explaining what the bread looks like. And then explain that, yes, it's a type of Italian bread (shaking my head)...and then *drumroll* One of the girls holds up a huge single pita and asks "do you mean this?" Uhm, no. I thanked them and left. It's one thing if maybe they don't sell it (I wouldn't know, they wouldn't know either since they have no idea what Focaccia bread even is)...but to not have ever even heard of it and you work in an Italian bakery? Seriously.

Used to frequent this place a lot. Noticed recently the quality has gone down. Also very poor service. You walk in and it feels like you're bothering the workers with your order as they are chatting or on the phone.

The locals know- this is one of the best bakeries around, maybe in all of NYC. I've been coming here since I was a little kid when it was Catalano's and Joe's never skipped a beat. They still make all the classics and have added in some new items as well including croissants and other pastries. Highlights include the cannolis (filled fresh to order), pignoli cookies, semolina bread and sesame breadsticks. They taste just like you remember, maybe better. Classic Italian in the heart of Queens. Highly recommended.

A great new bakery But there is a girl there that is clearly retarded. I stopped for some goodies and came home to find she didn't give me anything I asked for. Everything is numbered so it cant be that complicated.

The place is really nice its just alot of H.S. girls seems to work there and not customer friendly. Also they are letting people in without masks and not reminding others off the 6ft. rule I had to leave.

I bought a "Berry Napoleon" from the bakery tonight and the custard cream was more sour than Napoleon Bonaparte himself. The fact that I was sold this disgusting pastry, that must have been sitting in the display for weeks, was a sin to humanity. I was extremely embarrassed to bring this to a family gathering and I'm surprised if I'll ever be invited back again. Thank you!!

Best cannoli in New York! They are fresh, and the cannoli cookie is perfectly flaky. The cream is like a pillow in heaven, not too heavy, not too sweet, just perfect! A ride out from the city is well worth Joe's baked goods! I used to go here when it was Catalano's Bakery. The girl behind the counter told me the baker is still the same, and the pastries definitely taste like the old school recipes! The new owners spruced up the place and everything looks so fresh that it makes me want to buy one of everything. Over the holidays I went a little crazy, and my family all enjoyed all of mini pastries. The pignoli cookies are expensive, but worth every penny! The semolina bread is very necessary for Sunday dinner and homemade sandwiches! I wish they would open up a bakery like this in Manhattan. All of the famous bakeries are not as good, because they cut corners to keep up with their high rents.
