Not great, not bad. I am from NY so maybe I'm judging a bit harshly, but when you have "NY Pizza" on the building, you kind of asked for it. Here's the skinny.
A NY pizza can be described in two ways and comes in 2 sizes. There is the NYC style pizza, which is a large pizza. Likely 24-30 inches or so in diameter. It is pretty thin, the slices are very large and the pepperoni are large and flat. This style resembles Joeys in that it is also thin and the pepperoni are flat. However, Joeys dough is more cracker like in texture and less bread-like.
The WNY style pizza is also about a 24 inch round pie, but also comes in a sheet style, which is about twice as large and typically rectangle. The WNY pizza is a bit thicker, almost sicilian style in some cases. The dough is always chewy and bread-like and the pepperoni are almost always cupping pepperoni with char on the edges. The mozzarella is applied thicker and the crust is puffy and crunches.
Joeys pizza wasn't horrible. Don't get me wrong, I ate it and locals here likely enjoy it. It's pizza! But from my perspective, and at $24 for a medium sized "NY" pizza (18 in), if I had this pizza back home I would critique it just the same, and likely most people would agree, it was meh!
Colorado is tough for pizza and sushi, maybe it's the water or lack thereof. Not sure, but if this was just "Joey's Pizza" and didnt claim to be "NY pizza" I would have gave it an extra star, but I can't do that today and feel good about it.
Either way, check it out!
