An early anchor of Film Row’s revival, Joey’s serves hearty hand‑tossed pies, calzones, and pastas in a lively, bar‑backed room. Profiled by Oklahoma Gazette and highlighted by state tourism, it’s a pre‑show favorite near the Civic Center.

The staff was very friendly, and the food came out quickly. I ordered some meatballs and a pizza. While the food wasn't quite as good as I had hoped, it was still a decent meal. It was a holiday, which may explain why the service wasn’t quite up to expectations. Overall, it was a good experience.

We were in town for an event but had a little time to spare so we decided to try Joey’s Pizzeria. It took a while to be seated and our order taken because they were very short staffed, but their food was worth the wait. They were all friendly despite being so busy making sure we had to go drinks before we left. I would recommend them and would definitely go back.

Google
Our pizza was very bland. The bread sticks were good but the marinara was watery and bland. The meatball sub was good. The Stromboli was good but it was very small even for the individual size. The Gelato was wonderful. We had a great server. She was very personable and did a great job.

Service Excellence Meets Kitchen Shortcomings My recent visit to Joey's Pizzeria was a study in contrasts - exceptional service overshadowed by disappointing kitchen management. Outstanding Service Malik deserves special recognition for his exemplary service throughout our visit. His attentiveness was remarkable, consistently checking on our table without being intrusive. He demonstrated genuine care for our dining experience, promptly addressing every request with professionalism and a friendly demeanor. Malik's service alone elevated what could have been a frustrating evening. Kitchen Management Concerns Unfortunately, the kitchen's performance didn't match the front-of-house excellence. My anticipation for their Alfredo pasta was met with disappointment when I learned they were completely out of Alfredo sauce - and this was an hour and a half before closing time. Running out of such a fundamental sauce with significant service hours remaining suggests serious gaps in inventory management and shift preparation. For a restaurant to deplete basic ingredients this early in their operating day speaks to inadequate planning and forecasting. Aside from that this chicken bacon ranch pizza was delicious and the garlic bread with cheese and pepperoni was tasty. The mismatch between service quality and kitchen preparedness was stark - while Malik provided five-star service, the kitchen's inability to maintain basic ingredients significantly detracted from the overall experience. Practical Recommendations Call ahead: I strongly recommend phoning before your visit to confirm availability of specific menu items, especially if you have your heart set on a particular dish. Budget awareness: Be prepared for additional charges on individual ingredients and modifications, which can add up quickly. Joey's Pizzeria has the foundation for excellence, particularly in their service staff. However, management needs to address their inventory and preparation processes to ensure the kitchen matches the quality Malik and his colleagues provide. Until these operational issues are resolved, your dining experience may depend largely on what happens to be available that day.

I had only to go order at this location. But I felt nice'n quiet mood in this restaurant. Hand tossed pizza was very tasty, lovely rich taste coffee no need cream and sugar.

Google
I have been here throughout the years and it's not always consistent, but somehow it's still really good. The service has always been amazing in the atmosphere is great. My daughter loved the cinnamon stick option on the kids meals. The meatballs were very good. The Margarita pizza is made very differently here, next time maybe I'll order it with a thin crust. I love both crusts. So either way, I'm sure i'd be happy. The only thing I would change was having a small diced cut on the tomatoes. The large cut is more for a salad and really strays away from a true margarita pizza. We did love it and we will be back.

Google
We visited Joey's after a long day of exploring the town. Service was great, the pizza and pasta we ordered was excellent, and the atmosphere was nice. Would definitely recommend that you visit if you haven't already.

Google
On a busy playoff night in Thunder Alley we found such a warm , welcoming atmosphere for the family, and the pizzas were the best! And gelato to top it off.

Yelp
This is my second time coming in and I'm honestly surprised more people aren't in here. It was happy hour, and I got a beer and a flatbread so cheap! I love Italian and this place tastes like home cooking......Italian stuffed collard greens what??!! The service has been amazing, they even have delicious gelato and I'm going to see if they will hook me up with an affogato. If you haven't been here yet you have missed out!
google avatar

Yelp
Joey's is a great as ever! You still absolutely cannot beat the baked ravioli! I don't know how they get something baked to taste perfectly fried!!! The pizzas are always feeling in the toppings are fresh and taste homemade. I love the pace of the restaurant and the ability to sit and talk with friends without feeling rushed.
google avatar

Tim T.

Yelp
This place has amazing pizza, meatballs and salads. Will try their pasta next time but was definitely satisfied by those dishes at least! Excellent iced teas as well. On the way out, saw their gelato selection which I definitely want to try next time as well. Attentive service and spacious interior atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I will say the staff here are great and very accommodating. They receive 4 stars for the staff for sure. The food is just okay. I don't believe anyone in our large party was impressed with the food. Sad, but true.
google avatar

Christy S.

Yelp
Excellent service from the moment we walked through the door. The staff was so friendly and helpful when explaining the menu. The ambiance was classic pizzeria, albeit a little dark in the restaurant. There is ample seating, and it is large enough to accommodate groups. We enjoyed our food once we narrowed down our choices from the many options available. They have some unique offerings, including the Bianca Neve, which was touted as the most popular menu item. It was pretty good, but probably not the best they have to offer. I would return again if I am in the area, and I would save room for dessert next time because they have several good choices.

Nik B.

Yelp
Ordered Togo so that we could dine at a nearby brewery. Sadly the food was not worth the money. The lettuce had pieces of the stems in it which isn't the end of the world but for $6, I expected better. The cheese garlic bread that is $9 is 4 1/2" thick slices, not really worth the price and definitely don't recommend. But the worst was the $20 calzone, barely any pepperoni and the top was burnt. Definitely a big flop picking here over other places. Now I see why it wasn't very busy inside. Save your money and go next door or across the street where the food is better.

Yelp
Delicious food, pizza crust and sauce is so so good!! Really great service too! Check this place out!

Damien L.

Yelp
Great service, great food, and the setting was above what we were expecting. My son and I both had baked pasta dishes that we loved. Did not have the pizza but it looked amazing!
google avatar

Sacha B.

Yelp
Fun pizza place with pretty good food. I got an Italian sandwich to go at this visit and it was fresh and tasty. The young girl that took my Order was nice and friendly. I will be back to try more menu items.

Yelp
Yum! The Bianca nieve pizza is so good. Special thanks to the manager Alicia for fixing an issue I had. Great customer service.

Yelp
Can't at enough about our experience at Joey's! The staff was so kind and welcoming, and the food was stellar. Don't skip the spinach artichoke dip: the breadsticks are perfect for soaking up the deliciousness. We had several kinds of pizza at our table, and it was all phenomenal. We will be back!
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Wow wow wow! Perhaps the best spinach dip I've ever tasted. Certainly the best breadsticks!! The pizza was phenomenal; the space was cool & inviting; and the service was fantastic!
google avatar

Yelp
Close to 20 years of excellence. I have eaten at Joey's so many times that I feel like family when I walk in. The food is so good that it is hard to explain to people who have not had the opportunity to try it. All of the pizzas are great, and I love them, but the beef stroganoff is next level. The cabbage rolls (makes a motion to the heavens) are better than my Grandma's. Not hyperbole. I'll add some pictures the next time, but to be honest I forget to take a picture because the atmosphere is great and we are having a good time, so I forget. Try the bar, the drinks are also great.

Hannah K.

Yelp
joey's is great!! we came in and got food to go, and the host was super nice and helpful while we ordered! we sat at the bar while waiting for our food, and the bartender recommended the washington apple for a fruity, sweet drink! it was delicious! the pizza was super yummy!!
google avatar

RM P.

Yelp
Food was decent, delivery fee and service were about 13 dollars each. We got the meatballs, salad and two small pizzas. Pizza order was incorrect- even though clearly stated in the order. Delivery on time and I don't believe they used DoorDash or grubhub, plus in my books.

Randee M.

Yelp
Collard greens had zero flavor. The pineapple on my surfer dude pizza tasted like the can it came out of. Service was okay except we never got a bar menu. Had to guess if they had we wanted to drink. Would've been 1 star except the ambiance is cool and the location is convenient for attending events downtown.

Teaira J.

Yelp
I was craving pizza so bad, I was close by, and I wanted to try a new place out so Joey's it was. The service was very nice but slow. I liked how crispy the crust was and their Colossal Pizza was good but both needed more marinara. Not too greasy either and as crazy as it sounds, right then, that is what kind of pizza I wanted. I don't feel like I'll be craving this pizza place in the future but not regretting my decision either.
google avatar

Emilia S.

Yelp
Good and fresh pizza and fast service. The atmosphere is cute and laid back. Would definitely come back here!
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
It was okay. I had the chicken sausage lasagna roll ups. They were okay. My husband had a calzone and he really liked it. My friends had the pasta with chicken and liked it. The service was okay. They were nice but not very attentive. Their gelato was really good though.
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
Pink pasta is my favorite and they can make it with gluten free penne! Dolmas are100! The best pizza, locally owned. Oh, and don't forget the gelato!
google avatar

Abbi S.

Yelp
So so good. The thin crust was foldable, the cheese bread came out so quick from ordering. Pizza was absolutely delicious. I also got a drink from the bar, it was strong but not too strong. Waitress was attentive and kind. Definitely would recommend and will be back!!
google avatar

Dennis B.

Yelp
Service, excellent. Food superb. We ordered the heap pizza. It is their supreme. The vegetables are definitely fresh and the meats are well layered. The ranch they offer for dipping is not your typical. This is light on the mayo and very flavorful with garlic. The marinara is very flavorful also. The tomato bace is not at all acidic. The homemade baklava is good. I have had better. This is a little too doughy and hard to cut.
google avatar

Blake C.

Yelp
Very good! We got ravioli and the meatball pizza and it was amazing! Fast and friendly

Yelp
We came here this morning (12/15/19) to celebrate my birthday. Of course, I always want my first meal of any new year to be pizza. And this place gave us exactly what we wanted. We got here right at opening so we had the place to ourselves for a bit. Brooke took care of us and treated us great. She was very attentive, and she did a great job of selling us on the pizza. Brunch was also being served, and while that was considered as an option, she fortunately steered us in the right direction. The menu here has a lot of alternatives to just pizza, with a wide variety of salads, starters, and pastas available, as well as calzones and sandwiches. We started with the toasted ravioli, which I highly recommend. You can tell that they make them fresh - the seasoning on the ravioli and the dipping sauce complemented each other perfectly. The ravioli were crunchy on the outside, giving way to the creamy ricotta inside. Beautiful. We ordered a medium pizza, half meatball and half The Heap. The Heap is pretty much your typical supreme pizza mix. Well, typical as far as the ingredients, except these ingredients were super fresh. The sausage is made in house, and you can tell. I will say that the ravioli dipping sauce, the marinara, and the pizza crusts were very, very herby. I have never had pizza or sauce that herby, but it worked. Make sure you come hungry, and get ready to throw down some really good food. Enjoy the classy ambiance, as well, and get ready to become a fan.

Yelp
Love the colossal pizza with a side of meatballs! Love to grab some individual pizza slices for the kids when they do a "by the slice" specials!

Yelp
It's Labor Day weekend and I was looking for something different. It's so easy to just order a pizza and have it delivered, but today the wife and I wanted to venture out to try something new and Joey's was just the thing. We arrived around 3pm, so it was the perfect window between the lunch and dinner rush. We had the place to ourselves and were able to truly enjoy our meal. The cheese breadsticks were to die for, especially if you got the Alfredo sauce to dip them in. Yum! The pizza was great too. We went pretty simple with just a 1-topping, but next time I'll be trying the BBQ Chicken for sure. All in all, very good food, great waitstaff, and a cool location. P.s. the Steven Adams mural, across the street, is worth the visit all by itself.
google avatar

Jessica U.

Yelp
Service and environment made for a perfect date night. The Cesar salad was very good. My favorite was the meatball pizza!!! The meatballs were so good and full of flavor! Can't wait to come back again!
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
Great service, cool place and very good pizza. Only thing I would change (and my miss) was not ordering their hand tossed pizza crust. I ordered thin crust. After seeing other orders come out with the hand tossed, I new I had made a mistake. I would recommend for sure.
google avatar

Piper R.

Yelp
I'm going to get right to the food. The Toasted Ravioli is amazing, especially when it ushers in a pizza called, "The Heap." The menu describes this pizza the best, "Pepperoni, Ham, Joey's homemade Italian Sausage, Red Onion, Mushrooms, Green Pepper, Black Olives, & Mozzarella Cheese." Husband loves meat pizzas, I love lots of veggies. If that describes you, too, get The Heap. We were drawn to Joey's by The Study, a wine pub right across the street. The two have collaborated to offer Joey's food while enjoying The Study's atmosphere. Perfect pairing!

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in the area the food is great and Service is tremendous the prices are outstanding I love everything about this place.... We have been there 100 times and has never once disappointed four locations in the area we try to visit all of them whenever we're near them !!!

Yareli R.

Yelp
LOVE IT! Great place to go eat pizza with family and friends! Our waitress sat us down as soon as we walked in, was very helpful with describing the menu and giving us some opinions! Which we love! She was patient and the service was fast. I recommend getting the cheese sticks with the pizza dough and marinara sauce as an appetizer. They were fantastic. The sauce was so good not too much basil or watered down. I ordered a medium pepperoni on hand tossed crust. My boyfriend order a medium Alfredo with beef, green peppers, and onions on hand tossed crust. Let me tell you this was one of the BEST pizzas I've ever had. From the cheese to the marinara sauce! 10/10 My boyfriend did wish they'd put some more beef on his Alfredo pizza but overall loved it as well. Great place!

Yelp
We have enjoyed the food here for a few years. I always forget to get pictures because the wait takes quite a while and by the time we get the food we inhale it because everyone is either starving or we are in a hurry to get to a show! Hahaha! The food is always 5 stars. Period. So if that is what you are looking for then that's our opinion on it. The 3 stars is for the time it takes every time time we go to get anyone to serve us and get food to us. We have order so many different things on their menu too. We have never found one thing we didn't enjoy so that's always what brings us back. This last time we went it was a Thursday and we had a party size of 12 so we made a reservation weeks in advance. We got there at 5:15. Show didn't start until 7:30 so we knew that should be plenty of time. We had to walk over a couple blocks to the Civic Center so we wanted time to be there about 7 for kids to have a bathroom break and get drinks and pictures and stuff. We knew what we wanted to order when we arrived but getting a waiter to even get our drinks (water and sodas only) was like pulling teeth. We finally got those ordered and asked if we could at least put appetizers in since they didn't want to get all the food yet. The appetizers we thought were forgotten at one point and we still hadn't even been asked for our main dish choices either. We we're starting bc to get concerned for time. It was after 6 by the time they asked us finally. We had to go find someone...... we got the order in and it came almost at 6:45. We were pushing it. We needed refills because that hadn't happened once either. To be honest this was worse than usual. I chalked it up to we were a big group. But they weren't full and the other tables were struggling as well badly. We got some refills and asked for our check...... to finalize this we had to get up and go get our checks. We made it to the show at 7:20..... it all worked out but it was a little stressed. The bottom line is service is important. And after multiple visits and it getting a little more uncertain as to how it will go when we go we may have to choose elsewhere in the future which truly sucks because the food was SO SO SO GOOD! We had the meatballs, cheese bread, a couple side salads, one chicken Caesar, a Margherita pizza and two other pizzas. Everything was cooked perfectly.

Yelp
Ordered Pizza, while having some craft beers @ Core 4, The Pepperoni hit the spot and was gone in minutes, had to have them bring us a 2nd. Will have to work Joeys into our future downtown Pub Crawling plans ....
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Amazing amazing amazing food and service. The pizza was the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese and the crust was great! Now the gelato, um freaking fantastic!!!!

Carl M.

Yelp
Good pizza but a little scarce on toppings. Thin pizza had good flavor. Good timing on delivery
google avatar

Landen L.

Yelp
We got the garlic bread to start, and they were great. Their ranch was one of the best I've had. We also got the chicken salad and the colossal meat pizza. The only complaint is that the chicken didn't taste very good. Overall, it was a great experience and it's shocking that they weren't busier. Hopefully it's busier on weekends, but definitely a place everyone should add to their list.

Jeff K.

Yelp
Wahooooo! Staying at the Omni downtown and delivery was no problem! Should change the name to "Monica's Pizzeria" because Monica took our order over the phone and delivered our order to the Omni with an amazing spirit that we need more of in this world... give that woman a RAISE!$!$! On to the food... got the Bianca Pizza... yup great! ... get a side of red sauce with it... toasted raviolis, great.. and Stuffed Collard Greens A+.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
Wife picked out this place and did really well. We started with a watermelon salad. It was great on a hot day and the balsamic was a nice touch. The medium pizza was perfect for me and her to split. My side was colossal meat and hers was some kind of veggie pizza. 4 pieces each and was filling. Now we both had water but they had a full bar. Last we had a strawberry crape with vanilla gelato. The service was really good and quick. I would recommend this place as a good date night place. The atmosphere was toned down with dimmed lights and light music.
google avatar

Yukina S.

Yelp
Good location! As well as they open until 11pm:) Spinach artichoke dip -super creamy and melt in your mouth -bread was crispy outside and soft inside Pineapple+Canadian bacon pizza -pinch of cinnamon sugar gave a good punch -tasty crust too

Becky S.

Yelp
This place is on Sheridan in Film Row district. I love how it is dark, good music, I really like the construction, retro, contemporary, industrial. A mix of the original construction plus some new. Joey is a "She"! Pizza is good, spaghetti and meatballs are good, ravioli appetizer a little dry. It is a great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Andrew G.

Yelp
The food was adequate not great. The service was pretty good they were attentive. The environment was a typical restaurant nothing great.
google avatar

Scott G.

Yelp
We just had a beer here, but the service was really good and the menu looked nice. Our friends from this are a say this is their favorite.
google avatar

Hailey H.

Yelp
This is my favorite local pizza place - but it's more than just pizza. Their salads, pasta dishes, house specials, soups and more are all 10/10. All of the savory eats AND gelato? Joeys has that too! Chef Irena is SO talented. The restaurant has a cozy downtown vibe and is always a welcome place to duck into off the street. Joeys has also done custom catering for large and small groups alike for me, and always nails it coming up with delicious creative menus.

Jerri L.

Yelp
Small and quaint restaurant. Staff is very friendly and kind. Food was good as well. Hubby's pizza was all meat and he thought it was delicious on the gluten free crust. Only issue was crust was a little under cooked in the middle.

Zarah W.

Yelp
Amazing service, staff were so wonderful and attentive. The food was great especially the collard rolls. Omg I can't stop talking about them. You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
Great service. Crust was just right. Good casual dining! Walked from 21c hotel. Well worth it!

Melissa B.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time tonight through Uber eats. I decided on a small thin crust pizza and it was so good and the crust was crispy . My bacon cheese garlic and red pepper toppings were delish and the pizza overall had a great flavor. Not bland at all. Very impressed and would def go back.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Wonderful food with great friendly service!! Ambience is really cool, great music and vibe!

Charlotte R.

Yelp
Favorite sit-down pizza place in OKC. Great sauce, flavorful crust (thin and hand- tossed) and wide variety of toppings. They also have lots of Italian dishes, and gelato for dessert. Full bar and draft beer go great with the pizza. Modern urban atmosphere, quiet and intimate.
