Climate Change’s Affects on Food: How Rising Temperatures Will Increase Food Insecurity | Eater

"Researchers affiliated with this institution co-authored a review published in Advances in Nutrition that synthesizes evidence showing climate change — including rising temperature, CO2, sea level rise, and extreme weather — will lower crop yields and worsen global micronutrient shortages. The review highlights particular threats to foods rich in vitamin A, zinc, and iron and projects cascading public-health impacts, especially in low- and middle-income countries, while urging rapid adoption of solutions such as developing climate-tolerant staple crops, soil restoration, micronutrient supplementation programs, and food fortification." - Greta Moran

This is a great place to go to school, with faculty doing all sorts of interesting research and other work in many different areas of public health. There are many opportunities for students to engage in meaningful and important work. The bureaucracy can be a bit confusing at times, but they are working to better streamline the Hopkins experience across the many different schools and divisions of the university.

Yelp
Outstanding care by Dr Hynes! She gave me Immunizations for polio, Rabies, meningococcal disease and others plus prescriptions for malaria and typhoid, referred me for other immunizations needed for my trip, and gave me great counsel regarding safety and disease prevention including deet and pyrethrum, the exact water bottle that filters out viruses and other pathogens, clothing, and most informative about safety for women traveling alone. She provides wonderful care and a service reflective of Hopkins School of Public Health commitment to the highest level of health care. So much more informative than the for profit commercial travel clinics! Thank you for this exceptional service and care!!

Yelp
Ha, I'm going to get the First To Review for this school and all I know about it is that my sister did her masters in Public Health here, and she's a genius, so they obviously know what they're about. I came here to see her final presentation of her graduate project. I can't tell you much about the building because I basically cried the whole time I was so proud of her. There was a lovely security guard who was also proud of my sister so we're basically best friends. There were some stairs and classrooms and a small, nice auditorium and accessible bathrooms with lots of signage about how to keep healthy in public spaces (living the dream you guys!) Other graduate students presented also, and their work (though pale in comparison to my sister's seriously Michelle Obama-level oratory) seemed wise and aimed at bettering the world in thoughtful, research-driven ways. The professors came out on their lunch hours to listen to the presentations and ask deep questions and share their pride and support in their dedicated graduates. This is one of the top schools for public health in the world and it's right in the heart of Baltimore and I love it and I love everyone there and I'm crying again. 5 stars.
