Where To Go When You Want To Dance But Hate Clubs - Miami - The Infatuation

"Jolene is club-adjacent—and about as clubby as we're going to get on this guide. The Downtown “sound room” is owned by the same people behind Club Space. Like its sibling, Jolene charges cover and can get packed and steamy, but you can avoid lines and fat door fees if you buy a ticket online in advance. Once inside, you’ll notice gigantic speakers above the bar and two disco balls which, mathematically, means double the fun. The larger disco ball hangs above the dance floor and is where you want to be when a DJ drops a beat that unleashes your inner Rudolf Nurveyev. The other disco ball is in the bathroom so the dance party continues even while you take a wee break." - mariana trabanino, ryan pfeffer

Jolene Miami is not a safe place, and people need to know what happened. The guards are super rude and disrespectful . A security guard there violently kicked my friend out for no reason, then tackled and choked another one of my friends to the ground. He wouldn’t let go and people had to physically pull the guard off him. My friend’s face was bleeding and he could barely breathe. We have videos and pictures showing everything, and honestly, it was terrifying. This wasn’t just aggressive it was actually dangerous. If this is how they treat guests, I wouldn’t feel safe stepping foot there again.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I just went here for my first time and I consider myself a real lover of Sound and wow I was very very impressed with not just the sound but the ambience selection for that night‘s programming, but more importantly, how helpful the staff was. The crowd tends to be or on this night was a little bit younger and there were some people who couldn’t handle their alcohol and security was super helpful and making sure that they were safe and well also protecting the vibe of the space and the integrity of the room And the other guest by escorting them to a safe place outside of the venue. Everyone was super respectful again this is one instance, but for me the bar is really high. No photos or pictures to take here because well you know go there for the music.

Where do I start???… 1) Even if you have tickets with days in advance, be prepared to do a line of 40 min or more and then wait to get in… what a bad organization. never seen something like this in Miami, Please save your time!! 2) no air conditioner!!’ People were suffocating (that should be ILLEGAL) and 3) the security guard which was an Hispanic guy with black hair was letting his friends in at the bathroom regardless of the people waiting in line… such a lack of respect!!! 0/10

My experience at Jolene Sound Room was remarkable right from the start, especially due to the strict security control at the entrance. We were subjected to a more thorough screening than I’ve encountered when boarding a plane. Although this kind of procedure is always invasive, particularly when done out in public, it gave me a strong sense of security. It’s clear that they take customer safety seriously. Once inside, the experience was excellent. The bartenders stood out not only for their spot-on recommendations but also for their charisma and top-notch service.

I was super excited to visit this place with my friends. The music and atmosphere was great. However, the drinks are WAY overpriced. I spent 30 dollars on a martini and my friend spent 47 on a double shot redbull vodka—the martini wasn’t even that strong. The bouncers were very rude and kicked out my friend, despite us not being drunk or rowdy. Instead of letting us know why we were being kicked out, they ignored our questions and told us that we could come back inside 20 minutes. They kicked out my friend because her top moved while we were dancing and accidentally exposed too much cleavage—this would have been a simple fix if the bouncers had let us know. We could have easily gone to the bathroom to adjust ourselves, but instead they threatened to carry us out. The funny thing is there were white girls wearing the thinnest tops ever, but because the white girls have no boobs it was okay. Overall, I won’t return which is unfortunate because I wanted this place to be my new spot. It’s giving transplant central, rude staff, and overpriced drinks.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — A Hidden Gem with Vibes for Days Jolene Sound Room is the spot if you’re looking for a night out with killer energy and an intimate, stylish vibe. The atmosphere is effortlessly cool — think moody lighting, great acoustics, and a space that feels both underground and elevated. It’s the perfect size, too — cozy enough to feel personal, but big enough to dance and lose yourself in the music. The drink menu? On point. Creative cocktails, solid pours, and everything is super well balanced. Big shoutout to Miguel, the bartender — not only does he make a mean drink, but he’s got that rare mix of being quick, friendly, and just the right amount of hype. You can tell he really knows his craft and makes everyone feel welcome. And of course, the music. The DJs they bring in are incredible — expect deep, curated sets that make you want to stay all night. Whether you’re there to vibe out, dance hard, or just sip and take it all in, Jolene delivers. This place feels like a well-kept secret, and I almost don’t want to share it… but it’s too good not to. Highly recommend.

THIS HAS BEEN THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE WE HAVE EVER HAD IN OUR ENORR LIFE!!! Zena is the worst service we’ve ever revived in 10 years of bottle service. Management need to watch videos or send someone to watch the staff. It’s an absolute joke. This place has 3 star reviews when the property itself should be 4.5 stars. GET NEW MANAGEMENT.

Serious Warning – Stay Away from This Club! I went to this club last night with six friends, and what happened was absolutely unacceptable and shocking. Just because I refused to give a tip to one of the security guards — for no valid reason — I was physically assaulted and thrown out along with all my friends. The bouncers acted with extreme aggression and zero professionalism. We weren’t causing any trouble, weren’t loud, weren’t disrespectful — the only “issue” was that I didn’t hand over a tip. That was enough for them to lay hands on me and forcibly kick us out. Any place that allows violence against its guests — especially over money — is a serious danger to the public. I am considering filing a police report and speaking to a lawyer, because this kind of behavior must be held accountable. Do not risk your safety — avoid this club at all costs.

Yelp
My first introduction to Jolene on opening day was jolted due to a $100 per person minimum bar tab requirement. Much after circled back, prepared to once again keep moving if that requirement still existed. My experience: three people at the door. Asked if we had tickets (I didn't). Asked for ID. Patted us down. Requested no flash photography inside. And let us in. While stern, friendly. I could understand they're trying to make it safe for everyone. Walking down the steps you could smell some "pee" smells. :/ Once through the door, it's a beautiful space. Nice looking bar. Louder DJ set playing. Not overly crowded at all for a Friday. It was a bit too loud to have a convo, and a little thin that night to people watch, so left pretty shortly after. The place has cool history. I hope they do well, it's really well architected - maybe they need to make it more inviting. Orrrr perhaps they do more than just fine and I caught them on a weird night. My gut tells me some tweaks would be welcome. It should be bouncin rain or shine for that beautiful space. I'd come back and try it again with the right crowd.

Yelp
Calling all party animals and music lovers! If you're on the hunt for an epic night out, look no further than Jolene Sound room. This place has it all: a pumping dance floor, mind-blowing beats courtesy of their talented live DJ, and drinks that will blow your mind. And speaking of drinks, let's give a huge shoutout to the one and only Miguel, the master mixologist behind the bar. Miguel is a wizard with a shaker and a true artist when it comes to crafting jaw-dropping cocktails. He'll whip up concoctions that will make your taste buds do a happy dance and have you begging for more. From classic favorites with a twist to mind-bending signature creations, Miguel's drinks are like liquid gold. But let's not forget about the atmosphere. This spot is a haven for music enthusiasts and party animals alike. The energy is infectious, the dance floor is always packed, and the vibe is electric. You'll find yourself lost in the music, surrounded by a crowd of like-minded folks who are ready to let loose and have the time of their lives. So grab your squad, put on your dancing shoes, and prepare for a night you won't soon forget at Joline Soundroom. Get ready to groove to the beats, sip on Miguel's marvelous concoctions, and create memories that will make you smile every time you think back on this epic night out. Trust me, you won't want the party to end!

Yelp
Super cool basement speakeasy adjacent to Julia and Henry's. It's not a bar, it's a dance club with disco ball, bar, and DJ area. I didn't know what to expect with the name sound room but I wasn't disappointed either. Everyone was dancing to the deep house music. And the acoustics of the basement coupled with the lighted red ceiling patterns make for an awesome experience. Friendly door staff but luckily we were on my friend's list to get in. It was a busy Saturday night and it seems like that was your only way in. I love that everyone was dancing, which is rare. We had fun! Oh and there's a little secret room off to the left of the bathrooms that has a really nice seating area and juke box.

Yelp
I bought tickets for Sparrow & Barbossa and am currently waiting in line for 2 hours. They claim they over sold the event. Very unprofessional..

Yelp
Good places to go depending on the dj playing, pretty small place and crazy expensive drinks, 2 beers and 2 lemon drops came out to 60 dollars which is crazy. bathrooms are accessible good vibes there but the price of the drinks are crazy high. Would definitely recommend going in a group. And ubering.

Yelp
I had a great time at Jolene! It reminds me of clubs in Europe where everyone just vibes. I got there at Midnight and it wasn't that full but by 1AM the place was pretty packed. It does get a little bit humid in there but try to get near the fans if you can. Definitely coming again.

Yelp
Went to Jolene for the first time last night to hear House Music legendary DJ Tony Humphries. I was expecting to hear a good sound system, but that wasn't the case. We left a little after 2am because of the poor quality of the speakers. The music sounded very muffled. We heard from friends that stayed later that the quality improved as the night went on. I was told a sound person was walking around with an iPad adjusting the sound. Fixing the sound issues after 2 am is amateur. Also, the venue should invest in better A/C, it was sweltering in the place. Having a door man not talking down to people in line would be nice too. Witnessed the tall, thin blondish door man being unnecessarily rude to people in the short line as we were leaving. Not a great 1st impression.

Yelp
I've tried entering this place several times and each time they've tried to shake me down anywhere from $100 to $250. The first time I even came with 4 girls and after they let them in they tried to get me to pay over $100 to get in. I get it, it's Miami, but when there's no one in line, you've dressed the part, and you show up with girls and no other guys, then you really shouldn't be hustled so hard.

Yelp
I would have loved a cool fun new bar in this location downtown! But this place was so unbelievably pretentious yet boring at the same time and that combination just doesn't work. The bar was so slow and a bartender told my friend they didn't know what grenadine is and couldn't make a dirty shirley. I was served a $27 martini in a comically tiny (I'm serious) glass but I think the bartender saw my bewildered face and was kind and poured some of the leftover drink from the shaker into a shot glass for me. The crowd was not it, the music wasn't good, and it was too small and dark to really notice or enjoy the setup and decor. I did like the downstairs concept - I can't recall seeing any bar in Miami have a basement so that was a fun idea. But it genuinely blows my mind that people come here who aren't on guest list spend $150 - 200 to enter THIS place. Maybe the one in New York is better and they are expecting the same vibe. I also tried to come during the opening weekend and it was straight up closed. There was a line outside yet there was no communication from Jolene, they had a phone number listed for inquiries for tables and guest list etc so I contacted that number and after some further confusion it turned out it belonged to someone who was working at a whole different club in brickell and had no idea why Jolene was directing people to contact him. At least I met some new friends that night outside while trying to sort out the situation.

Yelp
Cool decor, music was fun. Lukewarm beers (barf) and overpriced drinks. I guess that's typical for Miami. The space is actually beautiful, but yeah warm beers are a definite no from me.

Yelp
A very low key spot to come and have a few drinks, chill and listen to music after a night out! The drinks are great and the bartenders have great energy!! All in all, a chill spot to hang out at!

Yelp
I recently visited this space after having dinner w some friends . Mind you i don't go out anymore so getting me to go there was something close to A miracle. Traffic is what it is in Miami but i found parking w no problem on biscayne and walked about 2 blocks . Once i arrived the door guys checked our bags and the woman at the door was really friendly . So far everything was working out w no problems . We headed downstairs to A basement and it had A NY underground vibe w a great sound system. I immediately knew i was going to like the place. Not sure who the dj was on Thursday but she had our attention. Felt so good to be around people who really care about the music and are ready to dance and meet new faces. Everything about it had a Great vibe . Will def return.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the dumb girl at the entrance or her door mates. The only reason they act so annoying is because the place they work for is garbage. The music is whack, the crowd isn't any better, and the drinks are pathetic. This place won't be around for long. Many much better places you can go to like Mama Tried or Tipsy Flamingo.

Robert P.

Yelp
The manager at the door was super rude. Had a nasty attitude!!! Don't recommend!!! Said they don't like young crowds. Said they want to be "exclusive and I don't care"
