Famed fried chicken, sweet spaghetti, peach mango pies

"This Filipino fast-food favorite opened its fourth local location in a 3,103-square-foot stand-alone building at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Horizon Ridge Parkway, at the entrance to the Eastern Commons retail center near Seafood City and Bad Owl Coffee. The site features a glass-walled dining room (not yet open for dine-in) and exterior decoration bearing the brand’s smiling bee mascot; for now it operates for drive-thru, call‑in pickup and to‑go orders only while phasing in its full menu. Fans can already order buckets or pieces of the famous fried Chickenjoy in original and spicy flavors, Jolly spaghetti, burger steaks, the “cheesy Yumburger,” chicken sandwiches, a palabok fiesta noodle dish, sides like mashed potatoes and gravy, and desserts such as peach mango pie and the pineapple quencher; hours are daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The chain also maintains other local outlets inside Seafood City on Maryland Parkway, at Village Square, and on Rainbow Boulevard." - Bradley Martin

"After two years in the making, the fourth local expansion of Filipino fast-food experts Jollibee is back on track in Henderson, bringing its “chickenjoy” menu to a stand-alone, single-lane drive-thru restaurant at the Easter Commons retail center. The 3,103-square-foot building — which recently applied to the City of Henderson for freestanding signage — will be easy to spot, decorated with the smiling face of its cheery bee mascot, and is predicted to open during the fourth quarter of this year. It sits close to the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Horizon Ridge Parkway, across the parking lot from Seafood City and Bad Owl Coffee. The global chain also operates a location inside the eastside’s Seafood City supermarket on Maryland Parkway and drive-thrus at Village Square and on Rainbow Boulevard, with the Southwest restaurant featuring a very similar layout and design to the new Henderson home. Customers can expect the full counter-service menu of fried chicken pieces, “jolly spaghetti,” langhap-sarap burgers, palabok noodle dishes, burger patties covered with mushroom gravy, hot dogs, breakfast specials, and halo-halo and peach mango pies for dessert." - Bradley Martin

"After an 18-month wait since first revealed, Jollibee is finally hiring for its first Henderson stand-alone location on Eastern Avenue at the Eastern Horizon retail center (formerly Eastern Commons), launching a 3,002-square-foot building with a drive-thru and an outdoor patio a short walk across the parking lot from Seafood City Supermarket, Arby’s and El Pollo Loco. Describing itself as the Philippines’ number one fast-food chain, its Filipino-inspired menu has earned a very loyal customer base at its three existing Las Vegas locations (Village Square, the Southwest Marketplace and inside the eastside’s Seafood City), and it’s even famed for including the late Anthony Bourdain among its fans. The Henderson expansion has no firm opening date yet, but long-filed paperwork indicated hopes to operate daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and to serve its popular menu of “Chickenjoy” fried chicken, spaghetti, “fiesta noodles,” peach mango pies, halo-halo desserts and “breakfast joys.”" - Bradley Martin

"A confirmed relocation to the Eastern Commons retail center in Henderson will involve building a new 2,941-square-foot restaurant on the Eastern Avenue wing of the parking lot; paperwork for construction permission has been filed but diners should expect delays while the project moves through approvals. The site, located across from a Jack In the Box and a short distance from the recently opened Seafood City, is slated to operate daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will feature a drive-thru, outdoor patio seating, and the familiar menu of Chickenjoy fried chicken, spaghetti, fiesta noodles, peach mango pies, halo-halo desserts, and breakfast items." - Bradley Martin
