Rico & Russell were the ones who helped me today. Luckily the quality of the food is not a reflection of the quality of their customer service. Russell initially took my order and when I asked about promo pricing for the fried chicken he got really flustered and asked Rico to help me instead. Rico was able to help me out but seemed to have a hard time figuring out how to put my order in on their system.
One thing that really bothered me was that while I was waiting for my order, the staff all seemed to not be busy, playing around with one another, and were talking to their bunch of friends who all happened to walk in. Staff were running back and forth between being behind the counter and not, tagging their friends and running off to get things for their friends. It was rather annoying, too, to have to wait and wonder if my food was ready or whether these employees fooling around caused my wait time to be much longer than necessary. I wondered even if some of what these visiting friends came from behind the counter munching on was part of what should have been my order or not. Ugh!
I understand what it's like to have your friends visit you at work. I was once a young kid who worked retail and would every now and then be surprised by friends who came by to say hey. I get it. But I did not ignore my customers or shy away from my duties. I was really upset and I hope that they realized that. It wasn't fun to have to wait so long for my order and it was even more disappointing to be made to feel like I didn't matter.
Since this experience I have not returned to this store. I'm not planning on it either. During a past experience, I placed an online/phone order. I was told that the order would be ready in about 20 minutes. I got there just before the 20 minute mark. I let the cashier know that I was there and that I was waiting for my order when it was ready. It took another 35 minutes. I waited for a while and asked how much longer it might be. They didn't know but they did tell me that no portion of my order except for the peach mango pies was ready or had been made. I liked that my food was going to be fresh and hot since it was just being made but even that wasn't the case.
My spaghetti was cold. The noodles were hard and the sauce was cold. It was gross. I also had the chicken joy. The chicken, at least one piece, was undercooked and some of the other pieces were cold, like they'd given us scrap left over pieces and didn't have enough so they had to fry a few more to complete the order. Talk about bad! I tried to call the store but by the time that I called, they'd stopped answering the phone although based on their posted hours, it said that they were open for another hour. Hmm.
I was furious but didn't bother trying to contact any kind of corporate office or anything. I figured, then, that I'd give this store a 2nd shot but well, you see how that turned out.
I also found it interesting that folks inside, employees as customers, were not wearing masks. I thought it was a mandate. I guess not. That was really irresponsible though. I also didn't like the fact that the employees acted like they didn't have things to do and yet their trashcan was over flowingly full. The photos that are mine were from the first visit and the review is after my 2nd. At least, as you can see, the first time I visited the store the store was much neater and cleaner. Ugh!
So definitely, my first visit here was terrible. I thought maybe it was some sorta fluke thing. I gave 'em a second chance to earn my loyal business. NOPE. that was botched too. So, no more. Thanks but it just isn't worth the trouble or feeling un-safe. Disappointing!!
