33 LA Restaurants To Help You Avoid Delivery Deja Vu

"Petite Peso is a mere babe in restaurant years (and in normal years, too). That’s because this Filipino restaurant opened during the age of Coronavirus. Located in teeny storefront in DTLA, they’re serving a variety of traditional classics here, such as buttery pan de sal (slightly sweet bread rolls), lumpia, kare kare (a thick, savory stew made with peanut sauce), and adobo - all of which can upgraded to family size. Whether you’re actually feeding other people, however - that’s between you and your God. Available for takeout and delivery, call (209) 438-7376 or find them on most major apps." - kat hong

Cult-Favorite Jollibee Inches Closer to Its Downtown LA Opening [UPDATE] - Eater LA

"Beloved Filipino fast food chain Jollibee will open its newest location at 729 Seventh Street in Downtown LA this summer. Jollibee’s Downtown branch sits just across the street from the Bloc at Seventh and Flower, a prime location that is near transit lines and a busy retail corridor." - Mona Holmes

Filipino Fast Food Restaurant Jollibee Comes to Downtown LA Next - Eater LA

"Great news for fans of Filipino fast food: Jollibee is on the expansion path. The popular company has signed an extended lease at a new space right at 7th and Flower in the Financial District. It would be hard to find a more well-known Filipino food brand than Jollibee. The restaurant currently operates well over 1,000 locations across the globe, including hundreds in the Philippines proper as well as in Hong Kong, New York City, and in the Middle East. The fast food restaurant is known for serving a broad menu of everyday favorites including burgers, the famous Crispy Chickenjoy and side spaghetti with sweet tomato sauce, as well as a variety of other noodle and rice dishes. Currently there are only two central Los Angeles Jollibee locations: A prominent outlet on Beverly Boulevard near Vermont, and a second inside the Filipino-focused Eagle Rock Plaza further east. Both are popular within LA’s prodigious Filipino-American community, and beyond. This new outlet will span some 4,600 square feet, and comes with a ten year lease. It’s well-situated near the busy 7th and Metro transit terminal and the redone Bloc retail development, which also houses a number of current and upcoming restaurants, including Joey and the long-awaited Alamo Drafthouse. The plan is to have construction done at Jollibee in time for an end-of-year opening." - Farley Elliott

Google
First time trying Jollibee and I had a great experience. Good food and fast service. The spicy chicken definitely had a kick to it but the gravy tames it down a little bit.

Google
I had a fantastic experience at Jollibee downtown. The service was incredibly quick—my food was ready in under five minutes, even during the lunch rush. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich combo, and it was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The fries were crispy and perfectly cooked, and the drink was ice-cold. The staff was friendly (Vanessa) and made sure everything was just right. The restaurant was clean and well-organized, with plenty of seating. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
I had a great experience at Jollibee today! The staff were friendly and welcoming, and my order came out quickly. The Chickenjoy was crispy and juicy, and the Jolly Spaghetti hit the spot as always. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. Always a pleasure coming here—feels like home!

If the trash/rubbish area is clean, it means that the people around it maintains it well. A pleasant view on a sunny Tuesday morning! Kudos Penny and team!

Google
Wanted to try this fast food spot for the chicken. We braved the LA traffic and ordered through the drive thru. We got the cheeseburgers, chicken, pies, mashed potatoes, chicken tenders and the pineapple quencher. Cheeseburgers looked small and sad but they are actually very tasty. The patty has succulent and delicious flavor. The fried chicken was very crunchy but greasy and full of fat. The mashed potatoes are delicious. I liked the gravy. The Mango, pineapple put was crunchy and oozed juices. It hit the spot. The Pineapple quencher drink was very tasty. The chicken tenders were just alright. The employees got our order wrong the first time and had to make changes. They were friendly. I would order from them again.

Google
Idk why it has 3 stars it definitely deserves the 5, the food is amazing and the employees are so kind. Ugh I love Jolibee sm

Google
I was waiting to try this chicken! I ordered some REGULAR chicken and a couple of ube pies. The pie was HORRIBLE! It tasted like fried grease and I was SUPER upset about that. Could NOT enjoy it at al. The chicken was CRUNCHY, hot and delicious AT FIRST! I purchased a bucket so I was enjoying and just eating away doing the happy dance, UNTIL I got to a piece and noticed how pink and slimy it was in the inside. I was so disgusted that I threw everything up! Bad EXPERIENCE for me! ALL in all I'm not happy with my experience and I wouldn't recommend them because of that.

Google

Yelp
First time at jollibee and it did not disappoint. The full menu isn't posted above the cashier so if you're not sure of what their sides are, ask for a menu or look online. I got the two piece, spicy, with jolly pasta, a side of mashed potatoes and a pineapple drink. 10/10. Chicken was really spicy and super crunchy. Pasta was sweet and noodles were cooked perfectly. The potatoes were hot and the gravy made for an excellent dipping sauce.

Yelp
What we ordered: -Spicy Chicken Sandwich -2 pc Chickenjoy Meal Deal Jollibee's is a great fast food chain. It is fitting that two of best fast food places are down the street from each other. Joilbee's not only has great food, but great service. The staff are always smiling and happy. It really reminds me of the Philippines as Jolliibee's is from there after all. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich was so good. It had a nice crunch and some nice spice to it as well. Overall, it was a great chicken sandwich. We also got the 2 pc Chickenjoy meal with the 2 pieces of fried chicken and the spaghetti with banana ketchup, cheese and sausage. I promise you that you have never had anything like it. The fried chicken comes with gravy for dipping.

Yelp
This place was just okay, the service was really friendly, It reminded me of the type of service you got in the early 90s at fast food places. On to the food, the food was just okay. I didn't care for the rice. The spicy chicken was way too spicy, the chicken sandwich was pretty good. Not sure if I'll come back, the place isn't that compelling.

Yelp

Yelp
There is something consistently satisfying about the Jollibee fast food chain from the Philippines. They've really got fried chicken dialed in with the ChickenJoy formula. The way that crispy skin and batter comes out is too good. Most fried chicken places usually provides hot sauce to accompany, Jollibee also has a delicious gravy to swab their chicken in. Speaking of hot sauce, I also prefer the Spicy ChickenJoy over the regular, with that extra action packed flavors and heat. Sides that you must go for are the Jolly Spaghetti and Adobo Rice. Mashed Potatoes are good with any dinner. The Jolly Spaghetti is a sweet sauce comfort food with chunks of meat and hotdog. The Aloha Burger will be the Big Kahuna of their burgers offerings, it's a nice double cheeseburger with slice of pineapple and their signature sauces. Finally the Peach-Mango Pie. It's just magnificent, which is why you can order them in packs of 6. These easily beat out the McDonald's Apple Pie.

Yelp
This review is for the chicken sandwich only. I love jollibee. Their chicken is one of the best to me as far as fast food goes. However, the chicken sandwich ain't it. It's ok, but compared to the regular chicken it's not nearly as good. Also compared to Popeyes who started the chicken sandwich craze, it's not nearly as good. I wouldn't get it again.

Yelp
So my first time trying Jollibee and won't be my last. We ordered a 6 piece bucket of chicken with half of them spicy and half of them regular, along with a side of the Jolly spaghetti a side of adobo rice and a peach mango pie. I wanted the ube pie but they were out of that so the peach mango pie it was. The fried chicken is lightly battered and crispy and I'd say it was probably the best fried chicken I've had from a chain fast food restaurant. The spicy pieces were great too. The spaghetti surprised me because I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary but it really was. The slightly sweet sauce with hot dog chunks and ham was actually really tasty. The adobo rice was cooked just right with a great flavor of garlic seasoning and other spices. Then the pie...I had a bite after I finished the rest of my lunch and it was still piping hot! Why are these types of pies always so hot? lol. It was delicious, I could definitely taste the mango and the peach in it and it tasted like actual fruit. The restaurant is kind of small in the dt area but it was well kept and clean and the service was quite fast.

Yelp
* Spicy Chickenjoy: Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with a spicy kick and savory gravy. * Burger Steak: Flavorful patties served with a rich sauce. * Spaghetti: Sweet-style sauce with sliced hotdogs. * Mashed Potatoes and Gravy: Creamy mashed potatoes paired with delicious gravy. * Adobo Fried Rice: A flavorful, must-try side. * Pie: A sweet and satisfying dessert. Located in downtown Los Angeles, just be mindful of your surroundings while visiting.

Yelp
This is a negative review, so first things first: this restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. I've been meaning to try Jollibee for a long time; tonight was the night. I was disappointed. I found the fried chicken to be average - not bad, but not better than a million mom & pop chicken joints scattered around the country. I didn't care for the spaghetti, which seems to be made with ketchup. The adobo rice wasn't adobo-y enough. The mango pie thing was delicious, however, so not all was lost. Basically, I guess Jollibee isn't my thing. Again, this isn't a knock on this particular franchise. As I said, it was clean and its employees were nice. If Jollibee is your thing, I'm sure you'll like it here.

Yelp
Jollibee in DTLA offers delicious Filipino comfort food, including crispy fried chicken and sweet spaghetti. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and efficient service, making it a great spot for satisfying cravings.

Yelp
DTLA Jollibee across the street from Uniqlo at the Bloc. Pretty busy location. I appreciate that they have an additional dining area upstairs. Clean facility. Really efficient staff. About the menu: they have baked mac and cheese. They are missing some Jollibee staples like the Burger Steak and gravy over rice and the palabok. Fried chicken, spaghetti, and peach mango pie are still just as good. Order taking could be better. To begin, I specified no combos and no drinks, just a la carte for my entire order yet they kept asking (x5) if I wanted a drink or a combo after every item I ordered. They also made a mistake in packaging my order. Receipt was correct but they gave me the wrong sides. Found out when I got home. Lesson learned: open & check everything before leaving the store to make sure. Single bathroom upstairs. Code to open is on the receipt.

Yelp
Wow, what an amazing experience at Jollibee! I've never tasted fried chicken as crispy and juicy as their Chickenjoy - it's truly addictive! The ube pie was a sweet and refreshing surprise, and the Filipino-style rice was a delightful change from the usual fast food fare. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was top-notch. I'll definitely be back for more! 10/10 would recommend Jollibee to anyone looking for a delicious and unique fast food experience Inna was super sweet and helpful with our order as well! We appreciate her ability to maintain a calm demeanor even when it was busy. Ive enjoyed this location because how clean it is despite being so busy.

Yelp
Came in for chicken, they accidentally skipped me which was no biggie since I live around the corner I wasn't in a rush. So I showed them my receipt they apologized and worked on my order quickly AND ended up giving me extra chicken, sides and a dessert to make up for it. Very friendly and professional staff, happy to have them on my block.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try jollibee for some years now. Fries, bomb. Reminds me of my childhood favorites. Chicken flavor? 10/10 but the chicken was rubbery and didn't feel cooked. I picked off pieces to try and eat around it till I came to a very red center. Barely ate half. Spaghetti noodles felt like clay. Not for me. The pineapple ice was refreshing and I was happy it wasn't too sweet. I would come back for the chicken and just ask for it to be well well done.
google avatar

Summer D.

Yelp
Don't let this be the first Jollibee you try. You can only eat here if you know how it's supposed to taste and you need a fix. This is not a good representation of how it's supposed to be, but it's fine. Cuz Jollibee is actually really bomb if you let it. Idk what's up with this one. It's so big back of me to realize there's a difference but there is one. I still will eat here, it's just not hitting ever. What I ordered vs what I got type beat.

Yelp
$18.05 total for this meal: mango peach pie: its good when its warm jolly fries: wish they had seasonings on them pineapple juice: healthier than soda?? aloha chicken sandwhich:its sweet with the pineapple, wish bacon was cooked crispy and the chicken spicy!

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
The food here is amazing!!! My favorite chicken spot from now on and they have the best pies must try!! Service overall wasn't the best but a very nice employee "Alexus" helped me out and was very polite towards me. 100% recommend!!
google avatar

Daniela D.

Yelp
Pretty good fried chicken spot. Some of the chicken wasn't cooked all the way through and was slightly pink so I couldn't eat it all. The fries and the adobo rice were good. The Mac and cheese and the biscuit tasted just like KFC which isn't exactly a compliment. Biscuit is super dry and Mac and cheese is just ok. All the employees were super nice and helpful. The restaurant has a second floor with plenty of seating.

Yelp
Interior: This is a rather new location. The store felt very crowded. For some reason the upstairs level was taped off so there weren't many tables available for dine-in. The tables were not very clean. Service: I went during lunch time so it was pretty busy. It took me about 30 minutes to get my order in with maybe 7-8 people ahead of me. There were two cashier stations but only one person working them. She was moving back and forth between the two to try to get orders in faster. There was another person putting the orders the order together on the side. They both seemed overwhelmed. Food: Jollibee is a Filipino fried chicken chain. They got a new portion of the menu since I've last been here. I got the 2 pc Chickenjoy Combo Deal. It comes with 2 pieces of chicken, 1 biscuit, 1 regular side, 1 peach mango pie, and a drink. The menu said it was $12.49 but I was charged $12.99 on my receipt. The drinks machine was broken so they only had the pineapple juice drink which was fine with me. Overall the food was pretty good. The chicken was crispy and flavorful and the mango peach pie was full of filling.

Yelp
Food is always on point in this branch with clean and airy ambiance. I definitely recommend this to everyone! And BIG SHOUTOUT TO INA FOR BEING EXEMPLARY service!

Yelp
First of all I've seen multiple videos about The Famous Jollibee Chicken. It was all lies. I am 100% convinced they were ALL paid. I went to Jollibees and bought 2 and 3 piece with Mashed Potatoes, Spaghetti, Pineapple Drink and a Mango Peach Pie. Everything was TERRIBLE. The Chicken had an after taste and was NOT good. The Spaghetti was a brown color with a spoon full of sauce (which was not sweet or had any hotdog inside) not like they advertised. The potatoes were nasty. They gave me a hard Pillsbury biscuit. The pineapple drink was okay, not what I expected. Basically don't waste your money. Yucky . The parking sucks. Alot of unhoused people and run away kids running around asking for water cups and getting soda. VERY UNSANITARY

Yelp
Being a local born and raised in LA. I am just thankful that we finally have another Jollibee in Central LA. Now this location is located next to one of the more busier and livelier train stations... so yes, it will attract a certain crowd and I don't think the establishment can control that. Should they worry about the cleanliness of the restaurant itself and have staff be more on top of that? Yes, but overall my food has always been great and nothing has ever gone wrong regarding that. So thank you for having a location in DTLA (: Jollibee Family Meal combo B is the best way to go! Large spaghetti, bucket of spicy chicken, 3 peach mango pies!

Michael M.

Yelp
Bad service, they are not paying attention to your order and will get mad if you complain in your order. The guy in the black is not polite and you'll see in his face that he is mad because of the complain, even though i clearly said to the girl whose taking my order what i want. Bad service.

Yelp
we are from the Bay Area ! & came here for lunch ! We actually had a great experience & food was yummy :) The Store Manager here was very nice ! She greeted us w/ a smile when we came in & as we were eating our food she came & checked on us. Asked how we were doing & how the food was. she did that w/ everyone which was very nice & pleasant to see! great example of a JOLLIE EMPLOYEE !!!!!

Yelp
great anticipation for Jolibee. I'm finally going after Fil-am folx been telling me about the food. I came w/my Filipino co-worker friend, Miss Ria. We ordered fried chix, tenders, cheeseburger, spagetti & mango pie. The food was very good ! I really liked being able to select brown gravy for the tenders. I was scared of eating the ranch dressing pull-cup! Most impressive is the ever-on the lookout security guard & her partner. They kept the psychos-lost street folx outside.
google avatar

Tiff L.

Yelp
Hands down, best spicy chicken for a fast food joint. Their mash potatoes do the job, pies are yum too! I opted for a pineapple juice rather than fountain drink. Their service is good and their staff is friendly. They clean up after people pretty quick too. It seems to be in a central location in DTLA and there is a parking structure close by too. Bummer part of it is that they didn't have chicken sandwiches or pancit. I brought my Chicano cousin through because I wanted him to try filipino fast food. Sucked, but we still got our eat on.
google avatar

OG R.

Yelp
Cool new spot! Conveniently close by to where I'm at! Not sure if the people were trained in the expected Filipino quality customer service. Girl named VAL was very unprofessional. Constantly rolling her eyes. Her aesthetic doesn't seem to fit the Filipino (Jollibee) standards. The way the bagged our food cause spillage. WARNING. We've gone to this location a few times to let them redeem themselves. THEY ALWAYS HAVE THE ORDER WRONG OR HAVE SOMETHING MISSING. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING. Are utensils not an automatic thing they give out anymore? I've always had to come back to the counter and ask for some. At one point, VAL and the security guard were just talking and standing around doing nothing.

Yelp
Good food. I liked their Ube pie and spaghetti. We got lucky with parking. We will come back.

Yelp
Jollibee in Downtown LA count yo days. Asked for chicken tenders they gave me chicken feet bruh I'm done

Yelp
Crispy chicken, great spaghetti, best fried pies. Best friendly drive thru service. Reasonably priced

Yelp
This place is understaffed and poorly managed. Honestly I feel so bad for the employees. Jollibee HQ really needs to figure there operations and respect their employees more. It's really sad to see this.

Yelp
This place is so amazing! Food is great and the staff are always welcoming. This is my go to restaurant when I am craving for a fried chicken. All their food in the menu is a must try!

Yelp
Gauging my review on the food, not the cleanliness of the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is a wreck. It needs a remodeling desperately. The service was wonderful, and incredibly attentive. They double and triple checked when I told them I had allergies. The fries were really great, and the chicken sandwiches were far better than any other quick serve chicken sandwich. I would pick them any day. The fried pies are also super tasty.

Antianna M.

Yelp
Zarina is awesome . she gives great options and offers the best of customer service .We felt welcomed and seen at this establishment. we definitely will be back . 10/10 for everything .

Prescil T.

Yelp
They are so packed today but still I am willing to wait for that fresh chicken. So yummy! The vibe and the tidiness of the store is consistent and the energy of the staff are contiguous.

Yelp
Everything was bad except the spaghetti......... The staff was nice and attentive just the food could've been fresher:(

Arianna D.

Yelp
amazing food, amazing service, amazing ambiance. I legit started floating when I took a bite out of this delicious food. The flavors, juices, service, MMMM! Definitely coming back again. 5 STARS!!!!

Yelp
Store closes at 9pm If you show up anytime after 8:10pm they will ALWAYS tell you "sorry we are completely out of chicken". This is BS. You know and I know it. They can cook more. They just don't want to delay their closing procedures by one minute. Please hire employees who want to service everyone until the clock strikes closing.
google avatar

Yelp
Highly recommended restaurant located at the heart of downtown LA. they have the best fried chicken (juicy and crispy) and the staff are friendly and the place is clean and spacious. excellent food service and quality.
google avatar

Tooraj T.

Yelp
The food was really good tasty and yummy I'm in love with their fried chicken ... the only problem is the area DT is really dirty and most probably coming with a solution is not easy ... but guess what I usually don't like dark chick but their is my favorite ... #Foodriture

Yelp
My visit to Jollibee was a delightful experience. The crispy exterior of the chicken was perfectly seasoned, and the meat inside was juicy and flavorful. The service was prompt and friendly, contributing to an overall positive dining atmosphere. Jollibee is a definite recommendation.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
some constructive improvement recommendations bcoz I want JB to succeed: 1) include a knife in your cutlery - you cannot eat chicken w spoon n fork not everyone here is born and raised in the phils and not everone eat w their hands 2) drop the biscuit - its hard as a rock. If its not freshly baked dont even include it in the meal. Its just a waste and not a good sign of freshness and quality of the food. 3) I asked for RICE - I got FRIES - sounds same i know- the server should REPEAT THE ORDER which she didnt I came 1130 am Friday Nov 17 She didnt even ask me if I want spicy chicken. Also, I was asking if I can substitute spahetti w palabok apparently she went ahead and ordered it coz she was saying "cancell the spaghetti combo sorry" what the heck?? I was still looking at the menu Bottom line- more training needed for your crew and as for the rock hard biscuit - just replace it w/ pandesal

Yelp
love the new location, awesome Filipino food! Sarap! There's no street parking so we parked at Target, just about one street away. Target validates for about an hour or two.

Yelp
I've been coming to Jollibee since I was a kid and I have never seen prices outrageous like this. Not only is it overpriced for "fast food" but the service was horrible. I simply asked for sauce for the chicken sandwich but the server gave me the most disrespectful "what" so I repeated my question and they all just looked around confused like I spoke a different language.. Just to make sure I wasn't crazy I asked for lemon juice for the palabok and they just didn't even know what I was talking about for a couple minutes. I understand that this is a new establishment with newly trained employees but sauce and lemon juice should be understood in either english or tagalog. The KIOSK thing was such a mess. When we finished picking out food for our order the kiosk asked us to get a buzzer with a number on it so I looked around and there weren't any in the vicinity. I went up to the counter and saw that they were behind the counter so I asked the lady if I could have one for the kiosk but she looked at me confused and didn't understand what I was saying so I asked her in Tagalog and luckily she gave me one. BUT, to my surprise I went back to the kiosk and my order had been completely erased so I had to reorder everything. I understand we came in about 2 hours before closing but the situation by the trash cans were horrible. There was just a pile of food and trays on top of the bins because it was so full. It leaked onto the table where mobile orders would go.. I enjoyed the food, the palabok was great, the chicken and gravy never miss. But, the sandwich was really dry so I improvised with the gravy. Pineapple quencher was spot on and really good. Peach mango pie should always be on everyone's order. No i wouldn't come back for a while, I wasn't having it with the staff, and prices are just too expensive. Maybe just for the peach mango pie but I think I'll wait till this place is settled in well enough.

Yelp
It took a long time, but they finally opened and it s also nice to have a value option in DTLA. That being said, it didn't really live up to what I was hoping or had heard. The bone-in chicken is by far their best menu item, as I've found the boneless tenders and sandwiches to be quite chewy and not tender at all. Thanks to friends I've been able to try a vast selection of their menu after only a couple of visits and have a good idea what I'll order from now on. I have some co-workers who like it more than I do, but based on the value alone, I'll eat here many more times in the future.

Yelp
Let me start this off by saying, I have been going to this place at least 3 times a week for 5 weeks. I absolutely love it! Those Spicy Thighs are to die for! And that GRAVY!!!! I probably shouldn't be eating that much fried chicken but I just can't help myself. Amanda, Ivy & Val have been my frequent servers and they are fantastic! They always remember my order, they make my visit quick and easy which I'm especially grateful for because I'm normally coming in right before I have to work. Thank you ladies and the rest of the staff for what you do. I appreciate your service!

Nora G.

Yelp
Love love love jolibees, but fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. The first time there was hair in my food, I let it go. Today, my grandkids wanted jolibees, and there was hair in the food. Not anymore. Not at this location. Do better.

Yelp
Grand Opening is May 12th Got here at 10:30 am. The place is well staffed. Online order or the kiosk is the best way to go. Takes 15 minutes from ordering to the food arriving (for those who parked at meters like I did) Super yummy chicken. Must try the noodles or adobo rice, definitely a change from American chicken and fries.
