9 Tulum-Inspired Restaurants In LA

"Like 9am meetings getting canceled and Tom Hanks, dinner at Jonah's Kitchen sounds pleasing to just about everyone. But in reality, this Mexican spot on Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica is best reserved for Happy Hour (and that’s about it). This foliage-filled restaurant bills itself as a "Latin and Caribbean" spot, but the food tastes more like the stuff you'd get from a tourist trap in Cozumel. Sure, you'll sit under faux bougainvilleas and wicker pendant lights, but you'll be subjected to flavorless cochinita pibil, chewy fish ceviche, and dry shrimp tacos. Consider this a solid third choice dinner spot for when you just want to dine out somewhere pleasant that won't offend your picky aunt who finds onions too spicy. Good Mexican food. I liked steak, especially when it’s marinated with a blend of spices and grilled to perfection. The smoky flavor paired with fresh salsa and warm tortillas creates a delightful experience. Each bite transports me to a vibrant fiesta, where the aromas of the kitchen mingle with laughter and music. It's a meal that not only satisfies my hunger but also warms my soul.

I was staying nearby and decided to stop by for dinner. I must admit that the decor is lovely, but that is about the only thing I like about this restaurant. The waiter was slow and inattentive; he only came by to take our order, drop off our food, and give us our check. He never came by to ask how our (bland) food was or to provide drink refills. As for the food, it was subpar. The "tacos" from Taco Bell taste better than the overpriced Old El Paso-type tacos they serve at this place.

Are you kidding me? This place may not look like much on the outside but when you walk in, all of your senses are enhanced. I came to this jewel of Santa Monica on vacation with my family and decided to stop in. Sooooo glad we did. We were greeted and choose the back room where the bar was located. Complete forest vibes with where we sat and the roof open to welcome the sunset tone for our evening. We were all amazed and impressed. Drinks were great and the ribeye that I ordered was so good I literally ordered another one. We also ordered salmon and a delicious sirloin. The peach raspberry dessert was out of this world. Top 5 places I've eaten EVER in my lifetime. Our server Kelsey was AMAZING!! Thank you so much for being so attentive, kind and knowledgeable with all the questions we asked. Much appreciated

Google
Fresh & delicious food with quality ingredients. Lovely service from Kelsey, our waitress. Beautiful decor & ambiance; loved that it was not loud and could enjoy a nice catchup with a friend. And loved that they offer all cocktails in mocktail form — I’m doing dry January 😅 Definitely recommend “Mi Amor” for the appetizer (see pic) Just as tasty as it looks!

I have nothing to complain about in this restaurant. I have never encountered such an atmosphere before. I’ll keep the words of delight to myself, just watch the video... Delicious and light food. I will definitely visit this place again.

Haven’t been to a place where the food is beyond delicious and the ambiance has the vibe to match…until I ate at Jonah’s Kitchen! Beautiful people everywhere, great music selection, DELICIOUS food, great drinks- been here a few times and always leave feeling better than when I walked in. The brisket is a must try- just melts in your mouth. The lamb chops are on another level. First time I tried this place, there were Ferraris, Lambos and Mclarens parked out front! High class venue out here in Santa Monica. Dress up and be prepared for a great night. A must visit.

Google
Brisket melted in your mouth, and the lamb chops were the best we’ve ever had. We would definitely recommend these!! Price point was great for the quality of the meat. They don’t come with sides, but we split the two meals and with dessert we were full. Order the peach cobbler!! So good! Lost a star because we were ignored for almost 15 mins before a server even came to give us water. Then, when we were ready to leave and asked for the check, another 10 mins until I just went up to the counter and asked to pay. I worked in a restaurant before, I get it. We didn’t order drinks, so that is why we were the least important table in the server’s eye.

Yelp
I have had Jonah's bookmarked for some time, so when someone let me choose a dinner restaurant on the west side, I knew where to go. & Jonah's did not disappoint! The ambiance is vibey with moody lighting and boho accents throughout. The highlight was the octopus, but the chicken was delicious as well. Our server, Kayla, was the bomb! Super nice and attentive without feeling overbearing. I will be back! Parking can be tough since it's on Wilshire, not sure if they have valet or a designated lot since I got lucky and found a metered spot. Definitely take that into account when making a res!

Yelp
I came here one evening for drinks and greatly enjoyed the cocktail I ordered! I don't remember the name, but it was garnished with fresh grapes and was so refreshing! The vibe was perfect - the back seating area was so cozy and I love that it had an open roof. The fact that they light the back room seemingly by candle after sunset was an incredible touch too. The music was on point the whole time and though it seemed busy it never felt too loud or like I had to scream to have conversation. I would have liked to check out more of the restaurant to give a better review. For drinks, it felt standard, but I would have liked to try their food options. I have a feeling I will definitely be back for a bite at another time. The service was really quick and the waiter was super accommodating and did a great job checking on my table.

Yelp
Didn't snag pictures this time around, was too busy enjoying the live music and the food! Stopped by on a Thursday night, and got a table in the back for 5. We ended up ordering the Lomo Saltado which was incredible and our friend raved about the Vegan King tacos. Just an overall great experience, can't wait to come back and try the K-Town Chicken! Highly recommend!

Yelp
One star for tiki bar, and one star for the entertaining amusement of watching washed up celebrities chasing the young wannabe actors/actresses. Service was slow and apathetic, and the food was disappointing, and carelessly prepared. With regards to the Asado Platter, the spare ribs were tough and dried out, the steak was chewy and bland, the short ribs were smothered in salt and basically fat and burnt meat, plus bell peppers were all burned. As for the K-Town Chicken, they basically burned the heck out of it, and I had to argue with the staff for 15 minutes as to why it was inedible, plus the kimchee was horrible, and the gochujang sauce was utterly lacking in flavor, overall this was an insult to K-Town. It should be a crime what their kitchen does to what they call food.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere and delicious meals. Their menu options make it hard to choose only one entree. I must go back to them all!
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best dinners I've had in a long time! We were a group of 4 and ordered the platter to sample a large amount. Our waitress recommended adding the chicken & we also added the shrimp. The k-town chicken was absolutely incredible! The char and the sauce were absolutely perfect. It was the star of the night and we were all shocked- chicken isn't usually the best thing. The platter was delicious and came with a variety of sauces that were all so fresh. The shrimp were almost like mini lobsters, they were delicious. We tried some of their specialty drinks and they were all amazing! We were too stuffed for dessert but definitely will need to try next time.

Yelp
Very good tacos and good portion for the price. I had the brisket tacos with rice and beans and it was very good! One of my new favorites places in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Jon M.

Yelp
The best word to describe this place would probably be eclectic. In the good way. Where else can you have one of five ceviche dishes for an appetizer, bbq Korean chicken with kimchi as a main, and then walk to the back room for after-dinner drinks at the tiki bar? And all of it was really quite good! Even the atmosphere of the place is a mashup that manages to work: dim romantic lightning under a thatched ceiling with an open kitchen starring a big-ole grill (plus the aforementioned tiki bar in back). You could come here ten times, have very different meals, and I'm willing to bet that all of them would be good.

Yelp
Love Jonah's for Friday night date nights with my wife. We also bring our dog which is great. The food is so delicious and I love the Lomo Saltado. Meat and seafood choices are all good. Order the crispy potatoes as a side or app. Yummy. For dessert I really like their affogato.

Yelp
Came for happy hour, stayed for this massive plate of delicious meat. This plate would be a vegan person's nightmare, but if you like meat, it was fantastic. They have great dipping sauces too! This spot is great. They make good cocktails. The bartenders are friendly. The bar is pretty small, so be warned, you might have to wait. They have a great outdoor spot that they can cover when it rains. The vibe here is awesome. Def going to be a new happy hour spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Jonah's a great place for drinks and bites. They have a more traditional seating area in the front that has more of a mellow vibe. But head to the back and it'll be more of a tropical vibe packed with people. In the back is also a bar but after 8pm on popular nights, expect to be surrounded be lots of standing people. Drinks here ($17) are decent. Overall a cool place to hang.
google avatar

Suzanne K.

Yelp
Food and ambiance fantastic. Delicious seafood and drinks at a really really good price. Great place to catch up with friends. No space for a stroller or wheelchair. Our waiter was nice, but she kept messing things up. I also really hate the little machine that forces you tip on the spot with them holding the machine in your face. I enjoy tipping, but it's a tip, you should be able to give out of appreciation, not forced or embarrassed to do so.

Yelp
Came here because I heard they have $1 oysters from 5-7pm on wednesdays! They also have happy hour from 5-6pm so decided to try both. The oysters are cheap and so big but honestly they weren't great? and I've never met an oyster I didn't like so that's saying a lot. We tried a lot from the happy hour menu. shrimp tacos with gochujang were really good! A bit spicy for me but still great. Next was the shrimp tostada, this was also really good can't go wrong. The yellowtail ceviche actually wasn't on happy hour, and kinda regret getting it because it wasn't the best :/ the sauce on it was very eh. Next was the wagyu crunchers which are just mini crunchy tacos with wagyu. They lacked a lot of flavor. Then we had beef brisket tacos which actually were amazing, the meat was so tender and tasty! We got a wagyu taco, which was not amazing. Lastly was the tostada nachos (which I actually didn't order but the waitress misheard me so we got them anyway) and it was good but nothing great. Unfortunately I would not be going back since everything was just kinda mid.

Yelp
Lemme start by saying.. This is a true 5 star experience..! The fact that this is a 4 average proves that you can't trust reviews.. the ambiance was a 10, the oysters were a 10, the octopus was a 10, the tacos were a 10, the drinks were a 10, the dessert was a 9.5 haha If you're in your 20s, 30s, 40s or a hip older couple, this is the place for a date night for you on the west side! So lucky we happened to stumble across this place
google avatar

Yvette S.

Yelp
This place is a whole vibe- a hidden gem on the westside and on the outskirts of Santa Monica. The cool thing is it isn't in the thick of chaos but is definitely in the mix (location wise). If you're looking for a chic date night not too pricey to break the bank- try this place out. If you want high quality food with sensational flavor check this place out! Back in the days (COVID) it was order at the counter (maybe not a popular opinion but I personally liked it- especially with large groups). But now it's dine in, hosted seated type of vibe. Jonah and his people definitely do their thing here!
google avatar

Tim J.

Yelp
Overpriced for quality and menu options. Not sure I will go back for dinner. Good waiter service, but took awhile for food to come out during the week and the restaurant was not crowded.
google avatar

Alisa Z.

Yelp
The food and drinks were delicious. The service was not the most efficient. So many good food options that I didn't know what to pick, but I settled on the Cioppino Yucatan. It was plenty of seafood and definitely with a kick to it. Pretty easy street parking.
google avatar

Exa V.

Yelp
Best vibe and music. For a restaurant you are looking for relaxed atmosphere this is the place. The service was amazing, Joe in the back makes an amazing lemon drop w/ tequila muddled with strawberries, fantastic!
google avatar

Kat A.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and although the menu is small the portions are sizeable! Definitely get the ceviche and the crispy wagyu tacos. The interior is decorated to look and feel very relaxed and almost tropical which made me feel like I wasn't in LA at all! Service was great! Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cute spot in Santa Monica that we walk to. The wood fired ovens fill the air with barbecue. We ordered a Cabernet Savignon, Justin, for $80. A bit of a markup, but we enjoyed it. We shared the Beef Tallow Potatoes, and we ordered lamb chops, medium rare, but I should've asked for rare. My fault. My friend ordered the brisket, and it was to die for melt in your mouth fabulous. Our waitress was perfect - not overbearing but available when necessary, and she shared great suggestions. We will be definitely be back.
google avatar

Xavier M.

Yelp
The Ambiance was the best part of the restaurant. The truffled potatoes were really tasty. Half of the serving of brisket was super fatty and soggy . Honestly couldn't believe they served such a fatty piece like that .
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
Cozy, intimate setting. Friendly, warm, and quick service. Scrumptious, divine food. Jonah's Kitchen + Bar is very well deserving of 5 stars. Everything that we tried was phenomenal. If I had to pick two favorites, they'd be the Spanish Octopus and the Lomo Saltado. The octopus was spiced to perfection and so succulent. The fillet was tender, juicy and sauced perfectly. Everything else was authentic and delicious. This spot is unassumingly located on 26th and Wilshire. Easy to miss. But you should make an effort to get here for your next dinner out. You won't be sorry that you did!
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
This is a cool spot with a good menu. They don't take reservations - we came on a Friday night around 7 and waited only about 10 mins at the bar. We were seated right next to the bar but I would love to sit in the main room next time as the decor is beautiful! Our server Stephanie was so sweet and helpful! We ordered the truffle tacos to start and they were really good. I got the wagu burger and it was cooked perfectly and the potatoes on the side were delicious! It is pretty loud inside but I loved the vibe and will definitely be back.
google avatar

Chad J.

Yelp
Service and ambiance here is really nice. The food is what you expect from these Santa Monica restaurants and their prices. I'd recommend this place for drinks but maybe that's about it.
google avatar

Kim L.

Yelp
Favorite dishes: Lomo Saltado-juicy well marinated beef, perfectly blistered tomatoes and onions, easily one of the best I've had in LA Waygu Crunchers-ideal happy hour bite, reminiscent of Nobu. Well priced and packed with flavor Spanish Octopus -tender and citrusy, it's hard to execute the perfect char without overcooking the octopus and it becoming rubbery. This was our tables favorite dish, it was hard to not order 3 more. It was that good Favorite cocktails: Happy hour Paloma- strong, well made cocktail with real grapefruit juice instead of soda Spicy margarita- this one is no joke, jalapeño infused and super fresh tasting Smoke show- a mezcal lovers dream Service: Reza, the owner, greeted us with impeccable hospitality when he stopped by the table to introduce himself. From the get go, he made our party feel right at home. Our server Kayla was super well versed when it came to menu recommendations and our busser was on top of his game keeping our table clear and our waters full. Ambiance: beautiful space, resort type vibes with a great playlist. We sat in the back patio/lounge area on a cold, windy evening and the heaters kept us nice and toasty. Overall highly recommend whether you're looking for the perfect low key date night spot or an after work happy hour, this place has the vibes on lock!

Yelp
Five. Stars for the food four stars for the service, unfortunately. I really would've like to give him five stars but when you're paying a premium price for tacos and margaritas, you expect to at least get water when you sit down and not at the end of the meal and be acknowledged within at least 10 minutes of being seated. On top of that the hostess had an attitude that left much to be desired. Almost as if she was doing us a favor by seating us now onto the food. Being of Mexican decent with a 'mama' who made exceptional, Mexican and American food, I am always very critical of tacos, chips, salsa, and guacamole. I'm very very pleased to say they do all of these really really well. Brisket Taco Cochinita Pibil Taco Shrimp Acapulco Tomato salad The brisket is so flavorful and tender, the pork is also delicious and tender. The brisket taco was a surprise in that it has a crunchy shell, which is my absolute favorite, crunchy tacos. The shrimp Acapulco (basically a shrimp cocktail, Mexican style) was delicious. I wanted to drink the 'agua' that the tender shrimp and just ripe avocado and onion it was floating in. The small tostada chips tasted, homemade, and the green I'm guessing avocado salsa on the table was very tasty and not too spicy that you couldn't eat a lot of it Who knew a tomato salad could be so good. Very nice portion of a beautiful and perfectly ripe tomato. On top of a tostada chip was a nice starter. The Paloma cocktail was just as it was described on the menu. The place is small and not great for large groups, but perfect for 2 to 4 people. I recommend going to the back and sitting under a heat lamp. If it's chilly outside the back seating area is very well decorated. You feel as if you've been transported to an entirely different country. It really makes the eating experience That much better. Although the service was not great, Stephanie, our server was very pleasant, but with just one person taking orders, I'm sure that impacted her ability to be able to attend to our table in a timely manner. I will be coming back here. I'm always willing to give a place that has really good food another chance to redeem themselves when it's the service that is not five stars. Good job Chef Jonah!

Samantha M.

Yelp
I've been here three times now, and once I even went twice in one week--I was that impressed. I usually bring friends who haven't tried it before, and they always leave happy. I've tried several dishes, like the Mi Amor, a few ceviches, lomo saltado, surf and turf, crispy potatoes, corn, guacamole, and octopus. Everything has been solid, with great flavor and the perfect balance of acidity. The customer service is also consistently pleasant, and the food runners are especially great--cracking jokes and always eager to help with anything we need.

Sophia L.

Yelp
This is a great spot for Happy Hour! The back patio is also a cute space tucked right behind the restaurant. Everything we ordered was good, especially the crispy potatoes. Servers are also fun and friendly!
google avatar

Mahsa P.

Yelp
Such a great place to have brunch with friends! The vibe is so cool especially in the backyard, the food is also great. We ordered avocado toast, salad, burger and waffle. The bartender is lovely and makes great cocktails too! I had a spicy margarita which would definitely order again!

Yelp
I've been here about 6 times now and I still feel so unsure about it. Some visits are fantastic and others not so much. I was originally invited here for a friend's birthday and their seating/dining setup has always been so chaotic. Originally they had QR codes and you could order your own meals and checkout via your phone, which was sooo nice. The very next visit about 2 weeks later, that was gone. When you walk in there is rarely someone to clearly let you know how seating and ordering work, especially after it's changed again. That would be very helpful. Also, seating can be extremely tight! Depending how they setup, you may literally need to walk around the entire front room just to go to the bathroom, when there would normally be a clear pathway. Kind of frustrating. For the food, I originally fell in love with their mussels and crispy potatoes - but the last 2 visits they've been luke warm or cool. For anyone who loves seafood, you know that's . Their flavors are amazing, so we keep trying! (Granted, one night the owner was kind enough to send us over a fresh order that was hot. It was appreciated.) The servers have generally been pleasant and helpful. Amin, their manager is probably a saving grace for this restaurant. He's SO personable, remembers guests when they come back, and is knowledgeable regarding the menu. We do wish the owner was just as personable, but if anyone in the restaurant is more "popular", he won't bother greeting you or seeing what you need. (He's usually always walking around the restaurant.) Overall, seating is tight, the food is okay, but the drinks are great. Note: there's metered parking all around the block.

Yelp
This place used to be great on the weekend with good food in the front part and a bar in the rear part. So I went there tonight had some good chicken enchilada if a little pricey. When the manager first sat me down he threw a menu on the table and walked away and I had to clean the uneaten food Left over from the previous party off the seat cushions and the table. Very nasty. The enchilada was great which I expected. For dessert the menu said vanilla bean gelato. The waitress who had been good up till then, brought me a bowl of generic vanilla ice cream. She said here I gave you a little extra. I take a spoonful and I realize not only is it not vanilla bean flavor, but it's not even gelato! It was just a generic bowl of vanilla ice cream that tasted like it came from a drugstore. Absolutely ridiculous. She never mentioned that they don't carry vanilla bean gelato when I ordered it. She just brought the dime store grade generic vanilla ice cream hoping I wouldn't notice. Unbelievable! This place used to be great however tonight it was completely empty except for about 10 people. What a shame. Jonas's has fallen off its perch. I do not recommend going here unless you're going to get the food to go. And you better check to see that it's what you ordered and paid for because they'll try and FOOL you and give you generic garbage for high priced food.
google avatar

Angelic E.

Yelp
The food is delicious here. I always come during happy hour to eat some yummy apps for a cheaper price definitely recommend that. The service is great no matter how busy they are. The ambiance is amazing they have live music some nights as well which is even better.
google avatar

Remy H.

Yelp
We came for happy hour 5-6:30pm. If you want full service, sit it in the back of the restaurant but if you're ok with self service you can order at the counter and sit in the front. 5:30ish is when they start having full service in the front. Ended up getting only drinks from happy hour menu. Food was great! The Saltado de camarones was so flavorful and the crispy potatoes were cooked perfectly!
google avatar

William H.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour but stayed for dinner. The ambiance was very eclectic, with latin, mexican, nautical, and Turkish decor. The food was v good. definitely get the brisket taco, wagyu taco was pretty tasty, the ribs with that insane bbq sauce (bright, sweet, tangy, smokey and a lingering spice kick). Mushrooms were fine, but the crispy-edge truffle potatoes with that tangy ranch sauce, *chefs kiss* Strawberry mezcal cocktail - was very smokey, fruity and balanced. Also the one with passionfruit was very fragrant and delicious. Will go back again.

Yelp
Came here with my family about a week ago and we all enjoyed our meal. There is very limited parking in the back but it was still helpful as street parking isn't allowed on Wilshire blvd during certain hours. Upon entering we noticed it was quite loud and had more of a bar-vibe versus a restaurant. However that was the only minor complaint. We got seated immediately and were told a waiter would be there shortly. Our waiter came very fast and took our food/drink orders when we were ready. The food took a little while to come out but everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We tried several appetizers and entrees and each one left us wanting more. Glad I found this hidden gem.

Yelp
Always eyeballed this place on my way to and from work. Finally tried it a while back and was meaning to leave a review. Love this place. Great vibes, they have great drinks and good food. Really cool place to come for a night out to chat with your best friend or your significant other.

Yelp
Ambiance: It's dark, but not too dark. It has a tropical aesthetic with a latin flare. Not too loud inside, and there was aplenty of seating. Our host mentioned there would be a 45 min wait without a reservation, but we were seated in 10 mins. Food: I ordered the black angus brisket tacos. Sadly, I did not enjoy the tacos. The brisket itself was great, I wish I had just ordered it in a different form, maybe a sandwich (which is a menu item). However, everyone else in my party thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The drinks on the other hand were fantastic. I tried everyone's drink at my table and they we're all very tasty. Service: I have no complaints about the service. It wasn't over the top service, but everyone was nice and attentive. The standouts for me were that Our waiter was patient with us, as we were a bit indecisive, and our food and drinks were brought out in a timely manner. Overall, this is a great choice for dinner. I would definitely eat here again, but I will be trying something else on the menu.

Yelp
The west side has needed a place like this for a long time; I love the food here! The chicken enchiladas and chipotle creamed corn are unmatched! I also love the vibe here esp on a Tuesday night tacos and tulum;Live DJ, singing and dancing *5 stars!

Yelp
I've been to Jonah's twice now. 1st thing I notice about a restaurant is how friendly the staff is. Well, everyone was sooo sweet, esp. Kaila, Tre and I wanna say Stephanie? Anyway, we had the lamb chops, surf & turf, oysters and lobster tacos. Every single dish was mouth watering. The oysters were so buttery and flavorful! The drinks were almost as delish as Jonah himself! I had the pleasure of meeting him in the back dining area, which is the spot to be after dinner! All-in-all, i've sent a ton of friends there and will continue to visit regularly! P.S. If I had 1 complaint, it would be to bring back the Viking platter! I was in awe of it on my first visit and couldn't wait to order it upon returning, but it was no longer an option.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour. They have seating up front and in the back (front more casual and back more vibey). I tried the kobe beef taco ($5) which was correctly described to us as an upgraded Taco Bell and was filling. We shared the tostados ($9) as pictured which were tasty. Great drink deals. Peach cobbler for the birthday dessert for the birthday girl was very good as well.

Yelp
Happy hour is a must. This restaurant is beautiful, so intentionally decored. Our server was very friendly, made sure we got our orders in as desired. We came by for happy hour on a Friday (5 - 6:30pm) to a lovely menu. $8 margaritas was hard to pass up on (so I ordered 3). Tacos were around $5 each and these are not the classic small street tacos, these are substantial. The back room was very cozy & energizing at the same time. The one thing I probably wouldn't order again is the guac. It was okay; but nothing special. I'll definitely back for happy hour again to explore the main menu a bit more. Thanks Jonah's.

Yelp
I finally had the opportunity to try this place and it did not disappoint. I'm telling you the food was like a symphony on a plate. The brisket sandwich, K Town Chicken paired with a salad of fully ripened heirloom tomatoes and beets had us eating off each other's plate. Thank goodness there's still room on my hips for a good dessert because the banana cobbler, which was served with vanilla ice cream, was a pleasant surprise. I needed the vibe, cozy atmosphere and energy that permeated the place that evening. The service was spot on. I'll be back for more.

Yelp
I was invited back to this restaurant to try it with improved service. It was definitely improved! Our waitress was attentive and expeditious. We received all the food we ordered and it was perfectly prepared. The ambiance on the patio was lovely again, we will be back :-)

Yelp
I had a great time at Jonah's Kitchen + Bar! The restaurant was lively and energetic, and the service was fantastic. I ordered the Wagyu Crunchers, which were absolutely delicious - the mini Wagyu tacos were perfectly crispy. The Tosditos were also a hit at our table - while they weren't my personal favorite, they were still tasty and had a unique twist on traditional nachos. The Smoke Show cocktail was definitely the highlight of my meal - it was perfectly crafted with a great balance of smokiness from the mezcal and sweetness from the strawberry puree. I highly recommend it! Overall, Jonah's Kitchen + Bar is a great spot for a fun night out with friends or a date. While not every dish was a home run for me, the service and overall experience more than made up for it. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

Yelp
Found this place on a whim while I was scrolling through Instagram. I am so glad I did! I invited my friend and his girlfriend out to lunch and had a blast. This place is self service, so you order and take a number. Food was brought out to us quickly! We ordered the Gochujang Schrimp, Black Angus Brisket, and King Wagyu tacos. They were delicious. The shrimp was fresh and served with red cabbage. Brisket came with a yummy cheese, tomatoes, and avocado sauce. Such a beautiful mixture of flavors! The wagyu was also yummy. Lettuce was FRESH. Rice and beans were okay. I prefer refried, but each his own. I consider these gourmet. They are not street tacos (I like them all). If you're in LA, you MUST stop by. Decor was tropical and so beautiful. I loved the white candle altar you'll see as you come in. I'm super spiritual so seeing this made my heart warm.

Yelp
This place is sooooooooo good. Not only that but Jonah's kitchen is also a super cute restaurant too with a good date vibe and plenty of people watching opportunities (you might even spot an actor/actress that you don't remember the name of). The Surf n turf is great and the peach cobbler with custard and raspberry compote is to die for. My mind was blown and I'm still picking up the pieces. The salt and pepper ribs are excellent! Super tender and flavorful. They look like any ole ribs but def recommended. Very tasty! The only thing that was just so so was the shrimp. It wasn't the garlic shrimp. I wanna say it was a lomo saltado shrimp if that's a thing? It had sauteed onion, bell peppers, scallions, and cilantro. My cousin raved about the pulled pork sandwich. Roasted veggies and mixed greens salad and potatoes were all yummy too. Everyone especially loved the roasted veggies. There was also pickled veggies which nobody was that into. Def looking forward to getting food from here again!

Yelp
Just got back from Jonah's and can't wait to go back again. This place is cool. Great place to hangout with friends. I really enjoy food and service. We ordered 1. Spinach Octopus - very tender! Lightly sauce with grilled lemon 2. Salmon - I love it! Grilled and glazed with sauce (the sauce taste like barbecue sauce) 3. Shrimp Acapulco - good 4. Mussels- wasn't bad. But I had better.

Yelp
We KEEP coming back for the gochujang shrimp tacos and the crispy potatoes! Biggest tip: get here when they open to grab a good seat!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Jonah's for a long time. Last night I did, and I am still trying to make sense of the meal I had. I ordered chicken enchiladas. The waiter set it down and said "be careful it is very hot!" It looked good. But one bite revealed it wasn't hot -- it had pockets of steam but was cold inside, either because they microwaved it or because they used canned corn (or both). Not sure why these enchiladas had an entire can of corn in them but it was not good. Really really disappointing.
