"If a classic American breakfast is what you seek, this Oak Cliff (and a second location in Far North Dallas) diner is a great choice. Drop by for a pork chop and eggs, fried chicken and waffles, and an array of eggs Benedict and burgers (yes for breakfast). The list of breakfast-friendly cocktails is as expansive as the menu. There’s a big, circular bar with seats and plenty of tables for groups." - Courtney E. Smith

"Head to Jonathon’s in Oak Cliff or North Dallas for an indulgent brunch option with a diner vibe. The weekend brunch menu hits a lot of notes, including typical brunch items such as waffles, egg platters, and salads. It also has a few outliers, like its brunch kabobs and Danger Dogs (a hot dog like dish made with pancakes). Good for those who are down to make brunch a little freaky." - Courtney E. Smith

"While technically on the kid’s menu at Jonathon’s, word on the street is that anyone can order up an adult grilled cheese and the folks in the kitchen will make it with anything on it." - Rachel Pinn

Made me feel like I was eating at home! Customer service was excellent. Even though they were packed, it didn't take long for our food to come out. Biscuit and gravy was my favorite. Fruit was over ripened but still edible. I'll be back for sure!

Great diner experience, the nooner burger was just what I needed after two weeks abroad— our server was so sweet and gave some great suggestions for our first time visiting. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu! Oh, and the espresso martini slaps!

Was a very good place. The service was quick for as packed as it was. The food was really really good. My wife had some kind of banana waffle things. I had a kind of scramble, this was a while back but can’t recall the name. But, I do remember it was very good.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a plate of chicken and biscuits that truly hit the spot. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, with a golden-brown coating that locked in all the juices, making each bite tender and flavorful. The seasoning had just the right balance, with a hint of peppery spice that didn’t overpower the natural flavor of the chicken. The biscuits, on the other hand, were soft and flaky, almost melting in my mouth with each bite. They had that perfect buttery taste, with a light, golden crust on the outside and a pillowy texture on the inside. Paired together, the combination of the juicy chicken and the warm, buttery biscuits was pure comfort food at its finest. I think the BEST part about my experience was the $5 mimosas!! I will definitely be coming back again!

I was craving chicken and waffles so found Jonathon's diner. Chicken was bland only thing good about it was the breading. Waffle was great and sweet. Chicken friend steak was over cooked and flavorless. Potatoes were undercooked and hard. Gravy was awesome but barely saved the meal. Overall I had high expectations and left disappointed.

Visited on Father's Day 6/16/2024 around 11 am for brunch. You cannot be seated until your whole party is there and ready, so keep that in mind. 4 stars is because our server was extremely slow ( it took about 10 mins after ordering a mimosa to receive it). One person in our group had to wait for her food while the rest of us had our plates, so that's another reason. The food is good, though. Prices are decent. First time trying this place, but not sure I'll go back. Parking is limited also so scared how it would look super packed. See my pictures. Follow my adventures

Delicious fried chicken and waffles. That's all I've had and I would definitely return. Chicken breast was thin and crispy and served piping hot. Gravy was peppery and flavorful and the waffle was light fluffy and just right. Everything was seasoned just like I like it. We were there on a weekday mid morning and sat at our table catching up for a long time and the service was friendly and efficient and left us alone until we were ready. Don't know her name but she was sweet and took good care of us and refilled coffee whenever we were ready. Cute spot- bar seating, booths and tables. Good place for breakfast.

Jonathon’s had been on my list since I moved to Dallas. It’s a local favorite, so I was glad to go. Unfortunately, I wasn’t blown away. The service was mid - it wasn’t as welcoming as I’d expect from a diner. It kind of felt as if they were indifferent about serving us. The atmosphere is fine, it’s what you’d expect from a diner. It was small and quaint. Now for the food, it was decent. They give you hearty portions and the flavor is okay. I ordered biscuits & gravy (I was quite disappointed - this is my favorite breakfast dish; it was brown gravy and the seasoning was off), eggs (delicious - they were cooked perfectly), grits (amazing — I could’ve filled up on them alone) & turkey sausage (not good at all, the texture wasn’t the best). I also had margarita. My total was around $30. I think it’s worth a try, but I don’t know if I will try again anytime soon.
