I have to say I was disappointed. My husband and I have had better. Maybe we will return another time with different friends and order some appetizers too but we aren't in a hurry to go back. My gripes about the place were: 1. had to cook our own meat, 2. no lettuce to wrap the meat, 3. would've liked more vegetables, and 4. cheap wooden chopsticks.
One thing I was really confused about was that there weren't any lettuce to wrap the meat around. I've been to many KBBQ places and they all had lettuce on a plate. I didn't ask the server, but I didn't see lettuce at other tables either. I ate my meat with rice and some banchan. They provide two dipping sauces along with four banchan dishes (potato salad, sliced radish, kimchi, and fish cake) and a lettuce salad, and if you want to swap the dipping sauces out for other sauces on their menu, it'd be $1.
You enter the restaurant from outside the mall. Go to the parking garage between JcPenney and Dick's. We enjoyed the ambience, and the space felt large. They kept one side of the restaurant closed off for now. We arrived at 6:30 on Saturday night, and were at first quoted 1 hour wait, so we decided to sit at the bar and ordered peach flavored soju (which tastes like peach schnapps), then somehow we got seated 10 minutes later! So maybe you want to stick around instead of leaving.
Apparently this is the soft opening (ate on a Saturday night 3.19.22), so I don't know if my experience will change later on. I came here with my husband and another couple who had never experienced KBBQ before. You can view the menu online, the QR code was on the napkin box when we were seated. We chose AYCE (all you can eat for 27.99/per person) and selected 8 items. 8 items was plenty for the four of us. They also gave us a seafood pancake, which everybody at my table liked. We had to cook our own meat, which my husband was a bit annoyed about because he had to constantly watch the meat.
We ordered Spicy pork bulgogi, seasoned pork shoulder steak, spicy chicken, mango habanero chicken, calamari, shrimp, and spicy beef bulgogi (2x). My friend who never had KBBQ was surprised to see the shrimp with heads still attached and she didn't want to peel the shell either, so people who are not familiar with KBBQ might be able to enjoy the place by going for some safer options like chicken, but I do think you have to be a bit adventurous.
