In the Land of the World's Oldest Bread, a Return to an Ancient Baking Culture

"Jordan Heritage offers an opportunity to engage with the process of reviving ancient wheat and other forgotten ingredients and foods. Its spacious outdoor restaurant serves unique recipes like taboun made from local Gatmah wheat and bazina, a Nabatean version of fettuccine made with yeast-free sun-dried dough cooked in fermented yogurt. The venue also hosts Airbnb experiences and workshops, produces documentaries on the country’s heritage, and operates a historical guesthouse, Madhafa, in As-Salt."

7 Essential Jordanian Foods to Eat While in Jordan - AFAR

"A nonprofit-run restaurant focusing on preserving traditional Jordanian dishes, served in a spacious courtyard lit by string lights. It’s one of the few places to find mulukhiyah stew—finely chopped jute mallow cooked to a distinctive, slightly slimy consistency—served with vermicelli, rice, and a squeeze of fresh lemon (about JD6.00 / US$8.45). The menu also highlights regional specialties like durzi tabbouleh, ekbab obeidat, and haliva." - Yulia Denisyuk

Jordan Heritage Restaurant truly lives up to its name. Set in a beautifully renovated villa, it offers an authentic Jordanian dining experience. From the start, the service was exceptional — the lady handling reservations was incredibly helpful and even guided us to the location. The menu features traditional dishes from across the country, each full of rich, authentic flavor. The attention to detail is clear, and the on-site gallery adds a charming touch. Highly recommended for both visitors and locals.

Was excited to try this place, but I don’t think it quite lives up to the hype. They didn’t have meat available nor Circassian cheese, for example. The food seemed overpriced for the size of the dishes. You won’t have leftovers. No one else was there so it felt strangely empty.

I loved and enjoyed my dinner experience here! The authentic Jordanian food was beyond delicious! So glad to have found this delicious restaurant and definitely coming back for Bazina and mahashi Bordganiyeh and makmoora! The salads were so good, the experience was beautiful thanks for collecting authentic Jordanian food in a menu❤️🇯🇴

great restaurant but it was quite empty, I think it's related to the tourism authority. Service was good and food was delicious.

Hands down some of the best tasting food I have ever had!!! It is quite rare to eat something and be pleasantly *surprised* by the novelty and depth of flavours. They offer traditional dishes that are not very popular(at least to me) but with a creative and rich twist. You can tell the ingredients and spices used are all top quality. Easily one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The services was good and professional as well and the atmosphere / patio sitting was so lovely.

Don't recommend this place. I gave it two stars for the atmosphere. There are other reviews that said that the hot main dishes were cold (warm) and it was true!! I ordered the makmoora, which says "takes 20 mins after it comes from the oven". I understood it was baked from scratch and hot. What they mean is lightly reheated. I asked the server, how come the dish is in the oven for 20 mins but it's not hot, and he replied, "we make it fresh everyday". This place was almost empty (2 tables busy) on a Friday from 6-8pm, that should tell you something. And they also forced the 2JOD water bottle without even asking and just pouring it for you. This place has potential, but in the meantime stick to the salads or go somewhere else.

Very good traditional Jordanian food. The menu is in English, is a restaurant targeted for tourist, they have menu in English and the price is quite higher than regular restaurant, but the dishes are really good. Payment by card available. They also serve wine and beer.
