I can't say enough wonderful things.
We tried Josephine's for the first time last night- after living here for several years and not being impressed by the food in Flagstaff in general.
However- Josephine's was absolutely the exception. Everything was fantastic.
We were able to make an online reservation the same day. The restaurant is located in a gorgeous and well preserved historic home. We were in awe of the beautiful craftsmanship and architecture. We loved the nice cozy fire.
The ONLY thing I'd say is it is a bit chilly if you're not in the main room by the hearth, so either request that room specifically or be prepared to bring a jacket if you get cold easily and plan to come here in the winter.
The service was great- we were greeted immediately, had to wait a few minutes for a table to be cleared and three different people stopped by the host stand to make sure we were being helped.
Our waitress was very friendly, polite, and had excellent recommendations. She was on-top of the service and didn't miss a beat.
The food was SOOO GOOD. We were shocked by everything we tried. (Calamari, crab cakes appetizer, bacon wrapped filet, molten cake and crème brûlée) the flavors were excellent, the steak was cooked to perfection, the presentation was beautiful.
The drinks were well done- they have an extensive wine list, but we opted to try the craft cocktails (yuzu mule, raspberry lemon drop, and passion martini) again, the flavors were lovely, the presentation was elegant and the service was efficient.
We can't wait to come back! My only regret is that it took us so long to try this place.
