Joseph's Pizza on Main St

Joseph's screams authentic and I love it! I kid you not, if you were to close your eyes, and tune out the music (which is nice pop music), every bite tastes like your sitting at the table of an Italian grandmother who loves you. The chicken masala pasta-seasoned very well. The chicken is juicey, flavored all the through. Pasta is perfect texture. The baked zitit, just as delicious with nice meaty sauce topped with a mountain fresh mozzarella and a colossal Italian meatball.

So I got the lasagna w garlic bread and a side caesar salad to go. I was given no cutlery. Caesar salad dressing was extremely watery and the salad was tiny. Garlic bread was pretty dry considering I’m only a 5 min drive away so I can’t imagine it losing quality that quickly. The lasagna is pretty much flavourless and watery. The food is cheap and affordable. I also can’t help but mention the interior of the restaurant. Hanging blue lives matter flags and playing Fox News on the TV isn’t really much of an aesthetic for an Italian family restaurant and not very welcoming. I also do find it odd that the front of house staff is white and everyone in the kitchen is a person of color, just saying.

This place will rock your sox... Food amazing... Shilo's service was spot on... This is a once upon a time... I took photos of a yesterday's bill board inside where they had a fire... This is what they found when taking down the wall... Thank you... "I'll be back"!!!

I recently heard about this place and made the drive across town to give it a try. The moment you walk in, the smell is incredible. My server was super friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The Thursday lunch special, broccoli lasagna with Alfredo, was rich, filling, and absolutely delicious. Even as a lunch portion, it was more than enough. The side salad came with a fantastic house-made creamy Italian dressing, and the basket of garlic bread was the perfect touch. 🏆 Highlight: Delicious food with generous portions and warm, attentive service. 📍 Would I Return? Absolutely, next time I’m trying the pizza, which looked amazing.

Josephs is an awesome place to have lunch or dinner. The food is home made and tasty. Fresh pizza, calzones, and pasta. There are salads and a few other offerings as well. It takes about 25-30 mins for them to cook a calzone or pizza fresh but they also have a few different slices that are ready to order to eat right away as well as pepperoni rolls and a few others. Parking is around back but there is enough to not need to wait. Very clean and nice inside with a decent sized dining area. I highly recommend this pizza joint!

Awesome food & service for our 28-person group (tour bus)! Shiloh was hustling and did a great job of keeping everyone's drinks filled, and asking often if there was anything else we needed or wanted. So glad we called for reservations here! Blessings to you guys! 🙏

Joseph's Pizza on Main is incredible! From top-notch service by Christina, to the cutest little manager, Julie, they will be seeing my face A LOT more often!! The Pepperoni and Mozz roll was literally mouthwatering, I had to waddle out of there!! Don't hesitate! Make this your new go-to spot! (Also the Sangria was delicious!!)

The reason you get a 2is you are closed 2 days a week. Don't say its to rest or whatever. If you are not busy those days then its cause people think you are closed. You've been here long enough to know people need to eat every day right? Hire more staff.

2.5 stars - I expected more, I guess, based on reputation? I stopped in for a weekday lunch, and the place was still moderately busy for close to 1 pm. I first tried to order a small pizza, and the server interjected to say it would be at least 40 minutes - as I said, the restaurant was still fairly full, but almost everybody was already eating. The way she said it, I got the strong implication that she did not want me to order a pizza for whatever reason, if you know what I mean. Not really sad about it, to be honest, because the pizzas I saw on tables looked very thick and bready. So I went with the Joseph's steak sandwich, with a side of fries. The fries came out first by a few minutes, which I thought was strange. They were standard waffle fries out of the bag, but ripping hot and fresh. The sandwich came out after a little bit of a wait, and it was....okay? I liked the caramelized cheese, but the meat itself was low quality and had absolutely zero seasoning. I tossed on a ton of parm and red pepper flakes just to get some flavor. The service was a little strange, as I said, but the prices are pretty good. The restaurant is fairly generic inside, kind of an old school diner aesthetic. I'm not going to make a trip back anytime soon.

I've never been to Italy but this food had a very homemade taste. The minestrone was the best I've ever had. We got the large antipasto salad and it's HUGE! The chicken Parmesan was so yummy. And the dessert selection makes you want to order one of everything! The service was wonderful. Everyone was so nice. It's not loud but it is open kitchen-ish so you can see the chefs making the food. We can't wait to go again!!

Server very good during rush hour lunch crowd. Garlic knot appitizor was very good 4+ but the meatball sub wasn't good. I cam on a very large roll too large to eat so you had to use a fork and knife. The quality of the hamburg was poor. Ca MN e with garlic bread, sauce and mozzarella. Won't go back

Hubby and I were looking for a new pizza spot for Friday night date night. Joseph's was close by and a Jacksonville staple so we headed over to give them a try. They were fairly busy but we were seated right away. We ordered an x-large pepperoni pizza. I thought it was good just not my favorite. The crust tasted good and had a good crisp but it was a bit thick for my liking. The sauce, cheese and pepperoni were all good. The service was great as was the ambience. I would return and try something different next time.

We had the grilled chicken sandwich and a slice of pepperoni pizza. They were delicious! I've decided I prefer my pizza with little to no tomato sauce. My friend had the grilled chicken sandwich and she said it was cheesy good. (Coming from a picky eater that's great) How server was great, she was able to answer our quest and make suggestions that helped in our choice. I ended up buying the spinach feta roll to go. It just looked so good and she said it would do well reheated. The restaurant itself is very easy and seating isn't crowded. They have tables for 2 or more without issue. We arrived just after they opened and by the time we left it was full of guest. It has been a while since I went to Joseph's, it lived up to the deliciousness I remembered.

After my mother's unveiling today, we came here today in honor of my parents who shared their first meal as husband and wife here 63 years ago. My parents died 12 months apart to the month and today was a meal to celebrate and honor them. The Manager was PHENOMENAL!!! Her commitment to Joseph's was apparent and her desire to provide outstanding customer service was evident by actions!! The chicken was out of this world! Portions huge and so flavorful! Worth the drive! Thank you Joseph's for honoring my parents 63rd anniversary so well!!

What an amazing place. Consistently delicious; great pizza, fabulous cakes/pies, and fantastic meatballs. Love the food, service and the eclectic atmosphere. Service is always great; fast, friendly, and seemingly with passion (caring staff). 100% worth the trip for the pie and if you're lucky enough, you can catch the Jacksonville ukulele club playing your favorite songs.

Nice place with a neat blend of homey and modern. I especially enjoyed sitting in the picture window bench seats and watching humanity pass by on Main Street. I had the Friday lunch special of baked ziti and soup (Italian wedding for me). DH had an eggplant parmigiana. Both were delicious. Our server, Teresa was super sweet and attentive. We wanted for nothing during our visit. Parking was a little dicey, but only due to a retirement party. Joseph's is hosting first responders this month and they eat free. You should drop by.

We went for dinner after a day at the zoo. It was fairly busy but we were seated right away so not overly so. It was a very cute restaurant, the waitress was nice but it was hard to get her attention (wanted to order appetizers because our pizza was taking so long but didn't get her). It took over an hour to get our pizza and when we asked about the delay we were told it was because they'd received a lot of online orders. The pizza was just okay and not worth the wait.

Delicious pizzas and main dishes. Comfortable ambiance and some of the nicest people ever.

We had a birthday party for my sister recently in the private room and it was fantastic! We had it catered for twenty five people and everyone enjoyed there time together and the food was delicious! Thank you Julie for helping to plan the menu! Thanks Theresa for your service ! We definitely will be back and if you are planning a party I strongly suggest you have it there

Tried spaghetti and meatballs and pizza, and it was all really bad. We're from Philly, not exactly known for pizza, but we do better here. The reviews brought us here after Jax Zoo, but I've had such better food in Jax, this was really disappointing. Reviews are really inflated for the very basic cafeteria taste. Cafeteria taste means the pizza was worse than frozen Ellio's, and the gluten in the spaghetti tasted like paper or cardboard, the sauce was essentially bitter ketchup. On top of the really bad food, they were very late on their pick up time, and cost was high for even good pizza takeout. Would not return.

I just picked up there Valentine special. Seafood Lasagna. Omg can you say AMAZING. It had shrimp, blue crab,Maui Maui, and scallops. Definitely worth the money.

Had a great lunch today for the first time. The spinach calzone was yummy very Greek flavor which I like. Garlic knots are delicious will be back for more

First time here food is wonderful and of cause I am taking desert home NY cheese cake and tiramisu and home made cannolis. Yummy. Will be back for sure and owner is Greek opaaas

I ordered take out. The best was the Italian sub lots of flavor and the house Italian dressing came in a little cup I think it has a red wine vinegar for a bite. So good! My only meh was the American cheese. When I order this again I'll ask for only the mozzarella. Remember I said I got takeaway? I can't blame them for the overcooked pasta and broccoli because I don't know if they were cooked well when it was made. Everything was still hot after I got home but the pasta was too well done for my tastes. When I reheated I put in a pan with evoo then topped with parm and baked in the oven. Great flavor but still over cooked. I will be back and next time will eat in! Huge portions so there will be leftovers again.

Lovely place and delicious food! The service was immaculate thank you Courtney! Highly recommend it. It's a family owned restaurant and everyone is so friendly. Everything was cooked to perfection, the pizza had the yummiest crust. Give it a try you'll be delighted :)

Food and service were great! I ordered stuffed mushrooms and a small margarita pizza. You can tell that they really put their heart into making their food.

Joseph's Pizza never disappoints! Their pizza is amazing, calzones are loaded and delicious, and the garlic knots are the perfect finishing touch. Highly recommend!

Arrived at 2 pm only ordered Spaghetti with meat sauce and 1 Meat Ball and soup it took 25 minutes before my Order came out , all Spaghetti with light meat sauce on top , very tasteless , I will not be Ordering anything again. I will be going to Olive Garden in River City .

Can't say enough good things about this place, just wish it was closer to me. We were promptly greeted and seated in the front dining room. Our server (Courtney) was attentive and kind despite having to get a kitchen worker to mop up a spilled drink. My family and I stopped in for dinner and ordered garlic knots, an antipasto salad, drinks and a cheese Sicilian pizza (square thick crust). They also gave us some free garlic bread. Everything was well cooked and tasty. The garlic knots are little buttery knots of dough covered in Parmesan, while the antipasto which has deli meats, pickled veggies and fresh veggies comes with a choice of dressing (pick the house made creamy Italian). The Sicilian pizza takes a little longer to cook but it is big enough to feed 5 with leftovers since it is a thick crust pizza. I have gotten it with toppings before but I think it is best served with just cheese. The highlight was that the total bill was a little more than $50. Way below what I expected. Recommend the trip if you are in the mood for pizza.

Joseph's is always amazing from the food to the service. It's worth the drive. We haven't had a bad thing there. We are so happy they are doing well.

Hands down one of the best pizza!! If you have a large family, this is the place to take them. The portions are huge and you can easily share the extra large pizza with 8 people! The ingredients are fresh. The cheese stretches really good and gooey! Also, every time we've been here, the staff have been wonderful. Very attentive. Very sweet. Overall feels very welcoming. Glad to see us. Highly recommend Joseph!

Stick with A pizzas they're much fresher than the sandwiches. That's just my honest opinion. Other than that the place is awesome.

This was my first visit to Josephs. I'd heard good things & finally stopped in for a togo order after visiting the zoo. They do not make the Naples pizza anymore, so I ordered a medium hand tossed pizza with olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, black olives, feta & mozzarella. It is probably the best pizza I've had in Jax!! The crust was perfectly cook & so fresh! The ingredients were also fresh & evenly distributed. I, also, got the Muffaletta sandwich. It is huge! Freshly baked bread & homemade olive dressing. I HIGHLY recommend it. Also, probably the best Muffaletta in Jax! Very clean restaurant & great ambiance with a great waitstaff. I wil DEF be back!

Went on Friday night with a friend and Raven was our server. Excellent service!! Food was amazing. Antipasto salad we split. I had the pasta combo special and my friend had the calzone. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were on point. Great experience!!

Went here on the recommendation of neighbors. My go to whenever I try a new Italian restaurant is eggplant parmigiana. Is it fresh? Is it tasty? How is the sauce? Etc. Well it did not pass the test. Not going back for eggplant parm. Not sure about other items except salad with chopped chicken which was okay. May return for pizza one day.

I was told this is the only decent place to eat in the area. Inside is quite a bit different than the exterior. All their bread is homemade, and they have homemade sauces as well, among other things. Upon walking in, they have a board with daily specials. They have a very small bar area with 4 barstools and about 7 draft beers. Their pizzas looked good, but I knew I wouldnt be able to finish a whole pizza so I just ordered a homemade Italian sausage sandwich. The sandwich was large and filled with pan Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese and their homemade marinara sauce. Pretty good, but a lot of bread. I wasn't able to eat all of the bread. I ordered a baklava cheesecake to go....then decided to eat it on my drive back across town to my hotel. It's definitely unique and I can't say I've ever had a cheesecake like this, I do like baklava, and cheesecake....just never had this combination before. Overall, this place is a good spot if you're in the area, or looking to take a client out and not venture too far away. Service was quick, even though they were shorted handed on my visit.

Their food have taste in them and very good and portion is nice. The service was really good overall I gave it a 10 if I could.

I got the eggplant parm sub - the size was massive which was a big surprise so I ended up having it for 2 meals, however the sauce was not for me, it was very strong and all I could taste long after eating. Maybe there was too much garlic? I don't know what it was but I would never get this again because of that. What I would go back for? The cannoli! I've never had a cannoli like it before I got the walnut and it tasted like it had amaretto in it so it was really delicious. The place was pretty busy so I know people like it but I just wouldn't get the eggplant parm again, but I'm not sure if they use the same sauce for their pizza.

Pizza was decent. Nothing to go back for. I think the crust and toppings were pretty good. The sauce was too sweet and stood out in a bad way. Pizza and garlic knots were fresh. Glad I tried it but I'm good.

Chef was great!!! He came and talked to our family and was super sweet!! Waitress was also sweet and nice. My family is from texas and we all thought it was 10/10!!! Our first time eating out and they definitely didn't disappoint!

Good food large portions. Very nice staff! Definitely recommend! We had The wings..just say yes to the wings! Pizza and spaghetti with large meatballs was also good.

My family and I have been coming here for years, but it had been a while since we visited the original location. We happened to be on the side of town, so we came here for lunch. It was almost empty when we walked in, so we had a large table to ourselves. The service was excellent, with our waitress being super sweet and attentive, bringing us multiple baskets of garlic bread!! I looked at the specials and decided on the grilled chicken with spaghetti and minestrone soup. There was plenty of spaghetti and chicken, and the minestrone soup was full of flavor and ingredients. I was filled by the finishing of the spaghetti and chicken. I thought it was a great lunch, and the perfect environment to spend with family.

This always has and remains a great place on the North side of Jax. I grew up in the area and used to frequent this restaurant. Every time I come through town I make it a point to visit. I had another amazing visit last night, you know right when you pull in the parking lot and it is full. It is just that sign that the food will be good. I went with my kids, we had a garlic bread starter, pizzas and dessert for an AMAZING price. Not only was there a great price, the food was excellent as usual. I would recommend that everyone should visit this place. Keep it a shinning gem of the Northside of Jax!

Real good pizza while visiting Jacksonville. Cheese pizza and Pepperoni pizza were very good. I would order from them again
