Porterhouse for 3. Medium rare. 75% of my pieces were nearly impossible to chew. Friends say it’s because it wasn’t cooked to medium, I don’t think that’s how that works. Good steak is edible up and down the cooking scale. You know when you bite into a piece and instantly know you want to spit it out because you won’t be able to actually chew it up properly. Rubber, grizzle, flavorless steak. Salt helps, but to what degree? Filet was only slightly better. Understanding that I guess these steaks are top quality, but maybe the first steak of the night is the worst one? Two other people enjoyed it, but I’ve had $30 steaks from the grocery store come out far superior to what I had at Joseph’s. Crazy to think that this is even possible, but here we are leaving my first review ever. Maybe it’s because it was a $230 steak. Get outta here! Great apple tart 10/10… Ha

Underwhelming. Absolutely a disappointment. This is the first place we went to in Connecticut that we just really did not enjoy. It was a shame because this was an anniversary dinner, and was mentioned in the reservation and not one person said a thing. The server was there, did not do anything to enhance the meal or make us feel welcomed or celebrated. The food… so underseasoned on everything! I’m sorry but when you have to add salt and pepper and even then u need the steak sauce it’s not good. Dry age was not tasted at all. The bone in steak was presented whole and not offered to be sliced, and this place would benefit greatly from some maldon salt. The asparagus boring, the Mac was ok but nothing special, served cold butter for bread, and the crème brûlée was some of the worst we have had. So runny and sweet it was not good. The steak itself was just not the best quality and maybe I’m picky because I work in a steakhouse but I was very underwhelmed. The atmosphere was cool, like an old school New York steak house, but the energy from the staff was ehh.

I made a reservation for eight at Joseph’s Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday, expecting a memorable evening, but unfortunately, it was far from that. While most of the food was decent, the mac and cheese lacked flavor. Our server, Paul, was inattentive and made several mistakes throughout the evening. I specifically ordered a French 75 and was instead brought a bottle of Prosecco with no explanation. He forgot my sister’s salad entirely, and she ended up being the last one served. He also failed to bring out the glass of Bonanza wine I requested to accompany my lamb chops—something I had asked for clearly and ahead of time. To top it all off, despite this being a birthday celebration (clearly noted on the reservation), I was not acknowledged, wished a happy birthday, or offered a simple gesture like a complimentary dessert or glass of champagne—something that even modest establishments usually provide. For the price paid, the overall experience fell embarrassingly short. To the management: I strongly urge you to revisit your customer service and training protocols. Attention to detail matters, especially on special occasions. Your team missed several basic service expectations, which poorly reflects your establishment. Please take this feedback seriously. No guest celebrating a special moment should leave feeling overlooked, disappointed, and frustrated. I would if I could leave a negative star rating for customer service and experience. I hope this helps future guests avoid the same experience, and I sincerely hope Joseph’s can rise to the standard it claims to uphold.

Great experience. Was pleasantly surprised how good everything was. The only thing in our entire meal I felt was off was the shrimp cocktail. Thought they may have been previously frozen. Other than that, def go and have a nice meal there......

Been going for 20+ years. Outstanding, traditional steakhouse, with the most professional, career front of house staff and waiters. Their special bacon salad is the stuff of dreams. It's not inexpensive, but well worth every penny.

Was told to check this place out when I’m down here covering AHL Providence Bruins road games and definitely glad I made it over for the total steal experience. Shoutout to my new friend and bartender Frank as he was amazing and entertaining.

This was fantastic well for my first time of course ive never been to a steakhouse before and my boyfriend has and this time he chose this location ive heard great things and the ateak was buttery smooth, flavor excellent, the grade was good too, if i asked fir medium it came out medium and the drinks were strong tbh!!

We had an amazing time here! The food was so delicious and beyond. For the main course, we both had surf and turf and their special salad. After that, we had Both meat and lobster were delicious, fresh, and juicy. After we had pecan pie for the dessert - which we both tried for the first time and loved it. We loved the atmosphere, service, food, and wine selection. If you are a foodie - we recommend.

The verdict is on Joseph's Steakhouse? Top Service & Excellent Steaks. That what I like, and thats what you get at Joseph's. I've been a dozen + times over the years. One visit I ran into Cliff from the TV show Cheers. Cliff knows Joseph's is the best. It's the spot! You can't go wrong at Joseph's. Never had any issues. They treat you like family and make Great cocktails. I always do a few Martinis. Great ones! Stop in and treat yourself. Make sure you get a bottle of Joseph's Steak sauce to take home with you. As always great food with wonderful people! Normally I start with a salad. Today I switched it up and had French onion soup. Followed by the filet with mushrooms and a baked potato. Everything was perfect. Staff s friendly and knowledgeable. Place I busy but not too loud. Thanks Frank!

Went for first time . Expected much more. Steaks, I had the bone in ribeye. It was bland and not much flavor. I usually eat my steak without any sauce but needed the steak sauce tonight . My wife's surf and turf was disappointing. Lobster tail tasted of salt not lobster. Again, not much flavor and no crust like a good expensive steak should be . I'm from New Haven so I'll stick with cast iron but I gave it a try.

Apparently of knock off of Peter Luger's, legendary steakhouse from NY area. I found food and service outstanding.

The four of us split two porterhouse steaks for 2, and they did not dissapoint! Had the mac/cheese and fries as our sides which were solid. As an appetizer, the crab that came with the chilled seafood appetizer stood out, as did the thick cut bacon. The service, while solid, could have been better as it felt as though our waiter was a bit stretched with the number of tables he was serving.

Enjoyed every bite of my meal! The service was wonderful and attentive and inviting. The thick cut bacon was crispy, not greasy, and a great bite. Ended up getting the bone in ribeye medium rare, cooked perfectly and delicious. However, being absolutely stuffed I couldn't say no to the pecan pie with ice cream alongside their homemade whipped cream! Yes please!

Updating an earlier review after several more visits. Food and service are excellent as always. Ambiance is very nice although it can get loud depending on the number of guests. Wine list is excellent as well. Parking can be a challenge but there's a garage close by if nothing is available on the street. Highly recommend Joseph's!

Went with my girlfriends. Everyone was able to eat their meals My steak was sent back three times way overcooked when asked for medium rare. Needless to say after the fourth time I gave up. Took it home and even the dog wouldn't eat. No comparison to Peter Lugers in new york As a New Yorker. I know. Don't be fooled. I had creamed spinach for dinner. What a shame and paid for it all even though my expensive steak was inedible

Personally, the best thing on the menu is their bacon salad with house dressing. It's always my go-to appetizer. The King Lobster Roll is great too. As for the filet mignon, it didn't have as much flavor as I was expecting, but then again, I'm Hispanic, and we really love our food full of sabor!

5$ for a soda no refill? And the A/C dripped all over us..a second time. Gotta go out in the rain and around building for bathroom. Penne ala Vodka was very good. Upgrading a soup for 8$ up charge....

Great steakhouse right off the highway in Bridgeport amazing quality steak and awesome Sides. We started out with the thick cut bacon appetizer which was grilled to perfection. The French onion soup was delicious and the bread and cheese were nice and crispy on top. For steaks we had the special of filet with bone in and the regular filet that comes with buttered mushrooms which were very flavorful. My son had the hamburger and from the picture you can tell it was huge and grilled to perfection. His fries were crispy and delicious. We all shared a piece of strawberry cheesecake which was the only part of the menu that was not great. Tasted like it came from a grocery store not homemade They take credit card There is street and lot parking available

First time at this steakhouse - the food was great! Porterhouse for 3 was shared by 4 and we had leftovers. The steak was prepared the "right" way (medium-rare) and was very tasty. Sides ordered were cream of spinach as well as well done homemade potato's. The other 2 in our party order filet minion with side of mushrooms- delicious ! Highly recommend this place for anyone that really appreciates a good steakhouse.

Joseph's Steakhouse is without any doubt the single finest steakhouse in all of Connecticut. Bar none. The steaks are always cooked expertly, the home made steak sauce makes your taste buds scream in joy, and the service is absolutely phenomenal. Whenever I'm out to celebrate a special occasion this establishment is my first choice. Why? Because they make the experience about you! Not to mention that the finely focused menu is executed to perfection and without unnecessary bells and whistles. Joseph's ambiance may be demure. But that's the point. Because it's the steak you come for. Not some silly "Tibetan Salt" wall or background EDM music. Always the best and always worth the penny.

Recently went here for dinner with the family. I used to be a regular but It's been a couple of years since I've been here. Didn't realize Joseph sold the restaurant to a new owner? Good for him. My review is more of 3.5 stars. I'll start with the positive - Service is still excellent. Our waiter was on point and very friendly. I also like how they added a couple of items for the kids. Chicken fingers and fries were a big hit. The steaks were very good, as usual. Sides were tasty as well. The negative - The portion sizes seem much smaller then they used to be. The special appetizer only came with two shrimp? The lobster tail was a joke. Baby lobster? Arugula salad was more chopped tomatoes than anything. Also, the orange sorbet was freezer burned! Come on guys. Bread basket was weak. Very light, stale, and no more flat breads? I'm all about paying up for quality but the l left here somewhat disappointed. I'll give this place another try eventually but it's no longer automatic.

This was my 1st time dining at this restaurant and although the food was pretty good they are very overpriced 12.00 for a small bowl of mashed potatoes but what really got to me was the 20oz sirloin steak was not on the menu as a bone in sirloin for 63.00 dollars it should be on the menu as a bone in sirloin that is very deceiving and for that reason I will not be back !!!!!

A Monday night visit prior to concert resulted in a wonderful dining experience. Cozy in old school steakhouse ambience we were immediately welcomed by our waiter. Service was pleasant and attentive - never intrusive - throughout our two hour stay. Our selections began with French Onion Soup and a Lobster Bisque. Both fine starters however the steaks were the true winners here. The 16oz Bone In Filet Mignon was prepared to perfection. Rightfully tender and juicy this Monday special was simply perfect. The enormous Bone In Red-Eye - excellent as well - couldn't be finished. Sides if asparagus and home fries for two were a fine compliment. With no room for dessert we both headed out to the show with smiles on our faces. Highly Recommended...

I have been to Joseph's steakhouse many times due to work meetings and coming on my own. Every time I feel like they give you less food and the prices just go up. There is absolutely nothing special about the steaks. Nothing. The only thing special here is the steak sauce which tastes good with just about anything but even that is not worth the price. Since I'm not amazed by the steaks, I ordered the salmon which was good. Not extraordinary good which is what I would expect for the price. You are paying for the ambience because the food quality is something you can find at other lower tier restaurants.

We were seated in the bar area for dinner the tables were too small the prices we're outrageous also very uncomfortable the area between the tables and the bar was a very small area people were walking by and kicking my chair. They should have larger tables for dinner. The food was good the parking area was fine the atmosphere was okay. There was no hostess at the door the waiters had to seat the people .

Old school. service was great. Steak was great. perhaps not perfectly cooked . (a bit more of a gradient from sear to center than i would have preferred but on par with many others steak houses.) Baked potato was perfect. Not much else on the menu. It's a Steak house. They have a bartender who is a bit of a character but he's about the best you'll find. Thats coming from an old former bartender who has encountered a few bartenders. He's an artist with a cocktail and he keeps a great selection of wine by the glass available. He's worth a visit alone.

My wife and I and another couple ate dinner here last night and was looking forward to a great steak. This restaurant is a self proclaimed Peter Luger look-alike. It even have a sign on the wall talking about Peter Luger's sons. So the restaurant Location, Parking, Service, and Ambience are all great. But at the end of the day you're coming here for the steak which was very disappointing and mediocre at best. My wife and I ordered porterhouse for two for $121 and while it came out cooked to the right temperature and on the sizzling platter the steak itself was fairly tasteless. boring and nervy. This is not what you would get at a Peter Luger steakhouse or Sparks or Mastro's. It was probably the equivalent of a Morton's or Del Friscos. So if you're looking for the true, aged, prime, super steak, this is not the place to go.

Service was good. Large restaurant but all squeezed into bar area. Cocktails just okay. The food ( apps, especially crab, steak sides) all excellent. Perfectly prepared. We will return

TLDR Overpriced and probably won't go again on my own. Service was great. One of the servers was kinda creepy and hard to hear (mask didn't help), made it awkward as he explained things and had to repeat himself. The other waiter was very friendly, laughed with us, etc. Just felt odd to have them bounce back and forth at our table instead of having a dedicated waiter. I was trying to figure out who our primary waiter was the entire time I was there. So, points off for the confusion. Got the single sirloin. Steak was cooked very good. Definitely tasty streak. Also, it was a huge piece of meat. Thing is, you don't get anything else beside the hunk of meat. For the cost, they could at least toss in a side salad or a side with the steak. I added mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was terrible, warm noodles with a slice of cheese on top. Panera bread has better mac n cheese. Cost, it was $400 for 4 people. That's kinda nuts when you consider it's middle of nowhere Bridgeport. Just kind of a pretentious vibe, can't justify the cost. Went for a friends birthday. I don't see myself going here on my own on a regular basis. Bottom line, eh...

We've been to Joseph's for multiple special occasions and it never disappoints. The food and service is always fantastic. I personally love the espresso martini and bacon appetizer. Our server Mike was attentive and helpful for our meal. It's an old school vibe with delicious food and we will be back!

Excellent! Took a friend for her birthday before a show in Bridgeport. She had the steak and I had the chicken dinner. I tried her steak and it melted in my mouth, just amazing. The chicken was also very tender and delicious. Server was very pleasant. Great place for special occasions

I hate giving 2 stars when our waiter was superb. BUT I can't see what the fuss is all about. For starters, the front of the house seemed very disorganized. Again, our waiter was great. The appetizers were good not great. We ordered thick cut bacon and the burrata cheese & tomato app. Because the menu stated the burrata came with THIN bacon, we ordered the thick bacon. So we received more bacon than we wanted. Since the menu was wrong and included THICK not thin. The steak. Wow. $200 worth of steak (pictured) was tough and unseasoned. When the meat was brought by (another) waiter I asked "that's medium rare?" And he rudely said "don't worry about it" and walked away. The highlight of the meal sadly was mashed potatoes. Dessert was good, not great. The whipped cream was better than the cake. We knew going in that this would not be a cheap meal. When you pay close to $600 for 4 people. I would've liked to have had my socks knocked off. Very disappointed in the (1) rude waiter and the steak.

My favorite steakhouse in the tri-state area. Excellent food, wine, and service. I had dinner at the bar- service and food- superb! Highly recommend.

What an awesome place with fantastic steak and a wonderful friendly staff. The decor is exactly what I would want in a high end steak house. I had a lot of fun and a GREAT meal. Will definitely go back!

First visit to this fine dining establishment. Lovely dark wood and antique decorations give it an upscale yet cozy feel. Service was prompt and most attentive by our waiter, Joseph. He gave us a rundown on the menu items and specials, with such passionate detail. The Joseph's Special Salad for 2 was amazing-with the rich tasting and tender bacon, Gorgonzola cheese, and a light and flavorful dressing. I could have eaten this all night! I was so glad Joseph recommended it. The Porterhouse for 2 was cooked exactly as requested and was more than enough for 2. It was juicy and tender and just needed a bit more salt and pepper. Potatoes were nicely roasted and along with the creamed spinach really went well with the steak. Joseph served all to us, always checking on us, filling water glasses and drink orders without being pestering. Was surprised and happy to see patrons continally arriving. We will definitely return.

Third time there, this time was the best. The bone in rib-eye was cooked perfectly and delicious. The wait staff was extremely attentive

Yesterday, a friend and I went to Joseph's Steakhouse for dinner. The decor is classic old time Steakhouse like in NYC or Chicago. The bar was massive, old world and charming. Crafted out of dark Mahogony, with large turned columns and intricate crown moldings and mirrors on the back bar. The did it right! The restaurant was jammed with people, the two dining rooms were fully occupied and we were seated at a small table in the bar lounge area. By small I mean the table was square, about 28 inches a side. With drinks, ice water, plates, silverware, menus and wine list there was no more room for anything. We placed our orders and started with Lobster Bisque, the best I have ever had. It was a large bowl, the Bisque was thick and smooth with plenty of lobster meat. It was redolent of cream, butter, lobster and sherry. As we finished our soup, a larger table. Opened up nearby. I asked our waiter Paul, if we could be seated there instead. He was very gracious and quickly cleared the table and brought fresh linens as he and another waiter quickly completed our requested move. Our meals came out shortly afterward, a gorgeous bone in ribeye for me and surf and turf for my friend. I had asked for rare+ and it was cooked to perfection. A nice char, simply seasoned with salt and pepper and a big pat of melting butter on top. The last bite of that steak tasted as good as the first. Midway through the meal our waiter Paul came by to check on us. I told him my steak was the best steak I'd eaten since dining at Peter Luger's in Brooklyn NY. Paul mentioned the original owner had worked at Peter Luger's for many years and tried to bring the best of that restaurant with him when he opened Joseph's Steakhouse. Let me tell you, he completely succeeded in his efforts.

This is the best steakhouse I have been to in CT. The porterhouse for two was just perfectly cooked. The mac and cheese was really good and my apple martini was on point

My mom and I live in California but have a family friend in Connecticut who is recovering from surgery. Mom wanted to send her a steak dinner, so another friend recommended Joseph's. Mom called them to see if this was a possibility and after way too much confusion from whoever she spoke with, thinking she wanted a steak sent to California, we finally figured out we can order for delivery via yelp/grub hub. The evening before, I placed an order for 5:45pm the next day. But at around 2pm my time (5pm at the restaurant), I received a notice that my food would be delivered at 8:45. Uh oh. I figured this is some sort of time zone issue, so I called the restaurant and explained the situation. The person I spoke with checked with the kitchen to see if they received the order. He came back and asked what I ordered, so I told him. He said it was ready and asked if someone was coming to pick it up. First of all...if it's for 5:45, why is this steak already ready and sitting around at about 5? Second of all, I will not be coming to pick it up, as it was ordered for delivery through yelp. He told me that was not possible, as their restaurant has never had delivery. So after a couple back and forths with that, I gave up and said I would call him back. So I called the yelp customer service line. The woman I spoke with gave the restaurant a call and confirmed back with me that the order was for 8:45. So...what is that random steak that the restaurant guy said was done and ready and waiting??? I explained to her that I chose 5:45, but maybe it's a whole time zone mess, but it was supposed to be 5:45 east coast time. She said no, I selected 8:45. Okay, well that is too late, so can we get it earlier? So, she called the restaurant back and cancelled the order and told me to re-order it. Which...okay..so what time do I need to put to get his steak delivered at the time I want it delivered?! Ultimately, she was of no help with answering that question. She said to try 2:45, but that option wasn't available. Luckily, I was able to just do an order for "ASAP" at this point, since it's already in the 5 o'clock hour there. It eventually gets delivered (about 30 minutes after the time we originally had hoped for, but that's not too bad considering all the hullabaloo that took place, I suppose) and I'm awaiting to hear how the actual food is. But my biggest concern here is how the restaurant doesn't seem to even realize grub hub delivers food for them. And how confusing it was for them when my mom called them to see if someone in California could order and pay for a meal to be delivered in Connecticut. And why did this guy tell me my steak was ready at around 5 but then yelp talks to them and confirms the order is for 845? Whose steak is that??? The issue with the time I believe is more of an issue with Yelp than the restaurant. But just a heads up for anyone trying to order for someone else in a different time zone! And don't bother trying to ask these people

Came back and unfortunately the same experience; Will head to New Haven next time for a real cut of meat.

We celebrated a 48 year anniversary in business last night and it was fantastic! All of the appetizers we ordered were amazing. We got the slab bacon, the salad and the seafood cocktail ...absolutely delicious.Our Waiter Paul,was knowledgeable and friendly and helped to make it a really fun celebration! The steaks were cooked to perfection, the lamb chops were great and mashed potatoes were also delicious.. We couldn't resist and had the tartufo , apple strudel and coconut sorbet for desert. We are looking forward to our 49 year anniversary already!!

Excellent porterhouse for 3 cooked exactly medium-rare. Split great salad for 3 with delicious bacon. An old world style ala Peter Luger style. Wait staff not warm but very efficient.

Our first time in this traditional place. We are at the bar and so got to look at the selection, which is okay but not awesome. The liquor selection is middle of the road but the beer selection is great. I had the crabmeat cocktail and it was great. We split a steak, which by the way the bar tender was not too thrilled about but we didn't really care since his gimlet wasn't made with fresh lime juice!!... it's 2022 and your drink prices show it so I expect fresh lime juice not some processed stuff.. anyways, the sides were okay but not exceptional, the only condiments available for my baked potatoes were butter and sour cream, no chives?!!! ... lol. Not a huge steak eater so when I splurge I want perfection! ... with all said, love the ambiance...

First time here after hearing so much about it over the years. Many windows provide a well lit dining and bar area, despite the dark wood- old style steakhouse decor. Actually reminiscent of Richter's Cafe in New Haven which was The Tap Room for the old Taft Hotel. A pleasant and accommodating owner/server/bartender was personable and engaging despite the fact that he was the only person there. The drinks were well prepared and nicely sized. The ribeye was prepared perfectly and very tasty. The Apple strudel a la mode was a perfect ending to a nice meal.

WOW. What a plaaaaaace!!! Jeez. If you want a fantastic steak dinner that will knock your socks off, this is where you want to be! First of all, the service is just outstanding. We ordered items that we wanted to basically share - there were 7 of us. The waiter portioned out our servings individually. It was a unique touch. We ordered Joseph's salad - unbelievable. The chunks of slab bacon, House dressing, and fresh basil was a winning combination. We ordered steak and salmon dishes which were absolutely delicious in every way. Perfectly seasoned well cooked just perfect! Dessert was chocolate mousse cake and it was so amazing! The perfect ending to an exquisite meal. If you want to treat yourself to a wonderful steak dinner, Joseph's is a must!!

I really wanted to be able to give a better review, but after taking a few days after we dined to not have a knee jerk reaction, I settled on the two stars. To start off the restaurant was not very busy so there is no excuse for a lack of service. While we dined it almost felt like if we were an inconvenience. Our server barely recognized us and barely even spoke with us. We went to celebrate my son's birthday but he wouldn't have known because he barely spoke with us. For starters we placed an order for the thick bacon. I was sort of shocked to have the bacon served to us in several pieces as opposed to just the slab of bacon being brought to the table. It was already pre-cut. For our entrees we ordered the Porterhouse for two and a order of lamb chops. Everything was cooked at the right temperature but the steak was just average. When I go to a steakhouse, I am not upset to pay at a premium but I do expect the steak to be better than just average. My girlfriend enjoyed her lamb chops. For our sides we had the Mac-n-cheese, French fried and creamed spinach. The sides were fine with the exception of the creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was more on the brown side rather than green. To end the evening we had dessert, I ordered the Creme brûlée which was cold and just not that good. Overall, I was not shocked at the tab at the end of the meal because I expected it to be expensive but the overall experience and the food just did not seem to match the pricy tab.

My boss offered to get me and my coworkers lunch and said to get it from a nice place, so we did. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I got the Cheesesteak with bacon and it was the best sandwich I've ever had!

Maybe I'm a Johnny come lately to review, but - I'll add my 2 cents.... This restaurant isn't cheap (no steakhouse really is) and you get what you pay for most of the time. The steaks - cooked nicely to temp with about the crust you'd expect from the gas grill at an air Bnb that you rented. Certainly did the meat no justice. The steak (billed as dry aged) had moderate flavor, average tenderness and just enough gristle to leave me curious as to why people rave about dropping $60+ on a ribeye?? An added side of fries were ok, nothing great, but for the price, I'm looking for great. Creamed spinach- you all remember the exorcist ? Nuff said. Salty as hell too. Caesar could have come from local bodega's grab and go fridge and would have been just as good (possibly better). We took in a decent bottle of wine, and the server was attentive and good for us. The vibe is what you'd expect of an old school steak place, dark wood, booths with high backs, bar seats maybe 10? For 2 ppl. Was about $375 - just not worth the money for my taste. I'm certain many will disagree with me, but you know what they say about opinions!!

I think Joseph's is awesome. Great old school steak house vibe that is missing from some of the trendy pertendy spots out there. Porterhouse for 2 is the winner and French Onion soup is awesome.

I read many of the reviews before deciding on Joseph's for a send-off party for a colleague with 7 other guests. I have to tell you, I think anyone who rated this restaurant below 4 stars was at a different restaurant. Not only was the food superb, but the service was absolutely impeccable......attentive without being a bother. Granted, a dinner here with appetizers and drinks will set you back over $100 per person; but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." What we "got" was as good an experience as any steakhouse experience I have had in NYC (Keane's; Peter Luger's), Philly, Dallas, Atlanta, etc. My favorite steakhouse for over 30 years has been Bern's steakhouse in Tampa, FL., and while Joseph's might not be quite at that level, they are very close. Recommendations: Joseph's Special Salad - really, really good Porterhouse - the two colleagues who had this steak said it was their best ever Bone-in Ribeye - well-marbled and fabulous flavor; cooked perfectly Bacon-wrapped filet - colleague who ordered this started to become annoying with telling everyone how great it was Mashed potatoes - just perfect; creamy and no lumps at all I will absolutely be back to Joseph's in the near future, even if I am traveling on a business trip and dining by myself.....it was that good.

Overrated and overpriced. Server was absolutely lovely, but the meal was generally just ok. The vibe was also really odd. Absolutely silent, no music, and when we initially walked in the servers were audibly fighting over us which continued during the meal. Awk. Bacon was good though. Steak, apps, drinks, all a miss. For an over $200 bill for two people it just wasn't it.

The service was beyond exceptional ! The porterhouse for 2 was cooked to perfection. The special salad for two was so fresh the bacon nice thick , hot and scrumptious same for the asparagus. Mac and cheese was hot and chessy! Lobster bisque was the best I ever had !! I will be back . Amazed at this jewel restaurant located in downtown. My servers were great and very down to earth. Such hospitality, very comfortable. Look forward to dine again

What a major disappointment, and a place I will never return again. For starters: ** COVID-19 spacing is not followed - there was far less than 6 feet between us and the other diners. Staff wasn't very friendly. Didn't feel welcome nor did we want to extend our stay any longer. Steak was not seasoned at all....not even salt and pepper. I've also seen far better cuts of steak with less fat and grizzle. If you're charging top prices for steak then deliver a quality meat. Granted, you have a salamander and you can sear steak....that's great but the steak was still a major disappointment. Fried onions were too oily. That's what happens when the oil is not up to temperature when frying. We both felt sick after dinner. Appetizer was nothing special at all. 2 overcooked shrimp cocktail, a lump of unseasoned crab meat, 2 slices of mozzarella and 2 slices of tomato. No basil. No seasoning. No drizzle. And the cocktail sauce was awful. Felt like it was sitting in a fridge for weeks. No ambiance at all. Extremely loud patrons shouting over one another to be heard. Felt more like a tavern than a steakhouse.

Very good but expensive so it's not a common stop. I like the mushrooms even though they were cold.
