Ju Hachi has a special place in my heart. My best friend, who now lives overseas, was the one who introduced me to this little gem, it was his go-to spot. Now, whenever I'm craving sushi, this is where I come.
Parking can be a bit tricky during busy hours, so I usually just park at Ice Blocks and pay. It's a short walk, and I honestly don't mind it.
One of the sushi chefs, Tsang, is always such a joy! Friendly, full of life, and genuinely wholesome. If you're lucky enough to sit at his counter, expect plenty of laughs and good vibes. The host/server was also incredibly sweet :).
I came in on a Thursday, and it was peaceful at first, but it did get busier as time went on. I started with the lamb lollipop, A5 Wagyu Nigiri, Amaebi Nigiri, salmon sashimi, and pepper fin. I usually avoid ordering too many rolls since I tend to not finish them, so I stick to nigiri--and everything was amazing. I also got to try I believe it was fried salmon skin with a cilantro/fish sauce aioli? It looks like a chip! I should've ordered that too but I had to refrain.
My sister tried the A5 Wagyu for the first time and looked at me wide-eyed, saying, "It melted like buttah." Lol. Needless to say, I ended up ordering a few more Nigiri's after that.
