I’ve been here several times since it’s the closest location to me.. the last two times I’ve ordered for pickup, the guy got my ordered wrong. This time, my order was again wrong completely. The entire order. From my chicken quesadilla to my fiancé bowl.. it’s the foh & kitchen fault.. the guy rings up what he wants & the kitchen cooks the food how they want since it’s to go. Tell me if this looks like “light beans”? I asked for my chicken quesadilla dressed with only lettuce, pickled jalapeños & pico/salsa on the side and the sour cream.. no sour cream and my quesadilla had cheese & avocado. I was lividddddd .. just for me to go back bc I wanted the quesadilla fixed since I spent $40 on this order.. order was wrong again. The girl with all of the beauty marks all over is always nice & accommodating. Anytime she takes my order even when I order at bar, my stuff comes out right. Most likely won’t be returning here anymore.

One of the best restaurants on Oak Street! Great service, so many menu options, fun atmosphere, and never a long wait! The food is all delicious, and the margaritas are splendid as well. I especially love the gutter punk burrito and the lemon berry margarita. I take a lot of my out of town friends here when they visit! They are also very accommodating when a large party pays separately, which I appreciate.

Ate here for lunch. The chips and salsa you have to buy. They were terrible. I would not recommend. Salsa is watered down. Quite gross. Ordered a margarita during happy hour. It was mediocre. Ordered three pulled pork tacos. Those were pretty good actually. A little greasy but overall good. I would not recommend this place. It is in a nice area of New Orleans though.

Glad I stopped by here an hour before closing. Everyone working was helpful, attentive, and had a nice smile. I was drawn to the flying burrito because of its interesting combination of proteins and it did not disappoint. The kindness of the service members stood out to me because I had an unrelated bad customer service experience at a pub the night before and I needed this. My thanks to the staff

First off, if I could have left 0 stars, I would have. Upon entering this fluorescently illuminated establishment, I was not greeted by a host, however, I was greeted with a terrible attitude and staring, judging eyes from the curly headed girl who calls herself a bartender. She condescendingly told my group and I to have a seat. Tables are dirty! The older man who was initially our waiter surely gave the impression he didn’t want to be there! If that’s the case, stay home! We were then greeted by another lady who I assume was taking over our initial waiter’s task. It took us 25 minutes to acquire the chips and salsa we had ordered. The chips were stale! At least seal the bag from the day(s) before leftover chip bag before serving! Still haven’t gotten our waters. We decided to ask for our check and pay for what we had already ordered and to leave before more terrible service came our way. So I asked for the check! Paid in cash. Then was chased by the aforementioned curly headed bartender accusing us of not paying! I did the math for her while screaming across the street in front of this establishment which lead to her using not one, but both hands to flip me off! A full refund of $64.79. Attached is a photo our the receipt.

I ate at Juan’s last night (Monday 8/11/2025). Myself & another friend in my party both got the Green Goat Quesadilla. It had a slimy layer of spinach, barely any artichoke and a solid layer of garlic cloves. We both left and went straight to brush our teeth and drink water to get rid of the pure garlic taste. It’s now Tuesday morning and we are both so incredibly sick from our meal at Juan’s last night. We’ve both had to take a day off work and we have the symptoms of food poisoning. I’ve eaten at Juan’s for years and never had an issue like this before, but I don’t think I’ll be back for a while.

Everything about this place is great and fits. Atmosphere is cool/great for all ages, nice server, gluten free friendly, and man does the food taste great. Saw fish tacos were recommended by another review…yeah, best fish tacos I’ve ever had. Fresh fish, swapped out flour for corn tortillas, when cupped everything fit perfectly…and definitely filling. Got it with yellow rice. (Which was only *slightly* dry.) 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

Google
Everything was plated beautifully and was absolutely delicious. I had the Jerk Shrimp and Mango Salad. I'm honestly getting hungry just thinking about it again. The flavors were very balanced and had a lot of depth. If everyone at my table wasn't insisting their food was the best item on the menu I probably would order that every time I go back. We also got the salsa and guacamole which were both extremely fresh and flavorful. I normally don't like mild salsa but I would order this again. I had a lime margarita and a jalapeño one. Neither was anything special. The atmosphere was very chill and would be perfect for really anything, friends, family, ect. The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is our server was not great. I was at the uptown location which is fairly new so I have high hopes that aspect will improve as they gain experience.

Yelp
Dang! I just had the sickest burrito I've ever had. The flying burrito was of the chain good. Have heard about Juan's for years but living here I was never much of a Mexican food kinda guy. That was until I ended up in Colorado where I became a huge Mexican food fan. So now I'm back home and decided to try a local well established Mexican restaurant. Well, Juan's FB did not disappoint. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for great Mexican.

Yelp
I have a lethal (anaphylaxis) allergy to shellfish and sea food. I made a mistake when I placed the order and forgot to remove the shrimp from the order. As soon as I realized I'd forgotten to ask not to include the shrimp, I called the restaurant and explained what happened. The young lady on the other end of the phone was so polite, understanding and caring. She even asked if it would be better if they cooked it on a separate griddle! I was so grateful she understood, I came by, picked up my dinner and went home to eat. I cut into the burrito, cuz I eat with a fork and a knife, and wouldn't you believe, an ENTIRE SHRIMP came out of the burrito. Needless to say, my confidence is shot! If I'd eaten that burrito "like a burrito", I'd be in the ICU right now. Not a safe place for folks who suffer from food allergies. So disappointing.

Yelp
Went there for first time. Food was excellent. Pulled pork and Slaw and shrimp tacos were the best l've had, especially coming from the East. Trio dips were all homemade and so tasty. The Big Bowl was a meal in itself with avocado, strips of beef, potato fries, rices, cilantro. Service super professional and atmosphere was very authentic and a nice bar as well. Highly recommend this local spot

Yelp
Y'all. I get it. In the blocks around this restaurant, there are many options that may seem similar. I can promise you that most of them are okay. Truly. When you're looking at a tortilla with meat, cheese, and vegetables... well there are only so many ways to roll those dice and come out ahead. Here's the first difference: the menu. Sure. Still a tortilla, meat, cheese, and veg. But you're going to have even better options. My favorite is the Kamehameha 504. Or the BLAT. I mean, sure, still ingredients you know and love, but mixed up in a most delicious way. But now, and way more importantly, let's look at the staff here. I have yet to visit and have a horrible staff experience. Roger has been my prime go-to this week (just by coincidence) and he really epitomizes the amazing experience you can expect here. He knows the menu (drinks and eats) in every way he needs to, and can take what you ask and turn it into an amazing meal. He's worth every penny they pay him (and then some). So go, visit, and tip well. The staff here truly deserves i

Yelp
I didn't see any flying burritos ... except the one that flew into my mouth! I stopped in here on February 4th 2024 and grabbed a burrito to go (brought it over to Oak St. Brewery). It was Sunday afternoon and the place was packed! There was a wonderful energy to the place. I had their flagship Flying Burrito. It comes with grilled steak, shrimp, and chicken. It was very good, and more that one person should consume at one sitting. But, of course, I ate the whole damn thing! I couldn't put it down! I can't wait for my next visit!

Yelp
This was my first stop for dinner after touching down in New Orleans. My Airbnb was in walking distance and almost everything was closed for the night. The staff was incredibly helpful to a new visitor who just reached New Orleans. I sat by the bar and the bartender was a fun guy to talk to. He gave me recommendations about where to go in the city and how to get around. It provided a fun environment to hang out and enjoy my meal. I ordered the Flying Burrito with a house margarita. I have never eaten a burrito with steak, shrimp, and chicken all together. I have got to say it provided an interesting taste. The burrito was very large and I was able to take leftovers back with me for later. I liked their Fly Dranks menu. It was very clever title for all their different options. I enjoyed my time at Juan's Flying Burrito and would definitely come back.

Yelp
The salsa wasn't amazing. That is the only negative thing I can say about this place. Ordered all the dips because I couldn't decide. Bacon azul quesadilla was incredible. Double margs since it was happy hour. I wish I could have eaten more because everything sounded so good. I want to go back and drown in a plate of nachos. And our server was the best, attentive but never felt cloying.

Yelp
We came during Happy Hour and got the margs. Them boys are delicious and strong!! Whew, I was turnt after two of them. Our sever was awesome. The $2 Tuesday street taco deal was really great, too!! Nice-sized flavorful tacos with a kick. We loved sitting outside on the patio as well. I totally recommend coming here!

Yelp
Had a wonderful time at this restaurant. Sat at the bar and made some new friends ate some amazing food. The nachos were wonderful and I could not finish them.

Yelp
Cute little place. Has a bar where they will serve food. Guacamole was fantastic!! Food was so good. Definitely give this place a whirl. Just keep in mind parking is a little tougher. Add a few extra minutes but it's definitely worth it.

Mary L.

Yelp
I don't like to start a review on a negative note, but there truly wasn't a thing I found positive. The place was dirty, especially the bathroom and kitchen. The service was OK. The food was mediocre at best. The drinks were just bad. I ordered a cucumber margarita and asked if I could use the bars muddle because all they did was throw a few slices of cucumber into a margaritas. The place just needs a lot of TLC!!!

Yelp
I was in the area for an event and decided to pop in. It happened to be Taco Tuesday. Cool place to unwind. Great atmosphere and cool location. I wasn't all that hungry, so I just snacked on some chips and queso and had a Corona with lime. I will definitely indulge more when I return. Per their menu, they have a wide array of delicious sounding dishes and an ample supply of alcohol. I enjoyed my queso dip, and you can't go wrong with Corona and lime. The bartender Steven was great.

Brandi J.

Yelp
I am a frequent of all New Orleans locations of Juan's as I find the food good and consistent with some healthy options and the margaritas I enjoy as well. On this particular visit, I was alone with my two kids who are both under five. They were not acting their best to say the least and were a challenge while trying to actually eat. The staff were laughing with me at the challenge and engaged and entertained the kids as well. Not once did they make me feel like I needed to leave or get them "under control." I just have to say thank you to the staff for making a really challenging situation a little more tolerable.

Yelp
Food was fresh and delicious! Service was good and ambiance was very clean. I ordered the blackened tacos and the sauce and toppings were very fresh.
google avatar

Claire B.

Yelp
Unfortunately, despite the pleasant service this was slow as heck. We waited two hours for like, three items aka two burritos and tacos. Do not recommend this location, however the chain is pretty good
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
As a Houstonian, the bar is high for me for taco/burrito places. Let's just say I'll definitely be going back here soon.

Grace C.

Yelp
Food was great and Gigi was so great to us! It was super busy and she was very apologetic and got our food and drinks out really fast.

Yelp
The food is okay. I was waiting for my food at the bar, and the waiter thought it was okay to keep getting in my personal space touching my arms and talking in my face. He kept trying to talk to me when he should've been tending to other guests or at least just leaving me alone since I wasn't someone he was serving. He was eating over the guests food and pulling chips from the baskets and shoving them in his mouth before taking their food to the table. None of the workers said anything about his behavior. I won't be going back. Especially since they're fine with someone just eating and touching peoples food. The owners reply is very condescending to imply I can't tell the difference between people who are working at an establishment vs other guests. Maybe he is also trying to imply that the kitchen or bar staff couldn't tell the difference either, and that this person was not supposed to be taking orders from the serving hatch and out to the other tables, and just assumed this "guest" worked there with them.

Fiona M.

Yelp
This is my favorite place in my neighborhood. The food is great but the service is even better. Devon is the neighborhood bartender that you hope to have. Every time I walk in she knows my food order (huevos rancheros with extra avocado) and makes me the most amazing margaritas.

Joshua R.

Yelp
A waste of time. After sitting for about 25 minutes and not receiving service, we flagged down a server and was told "This isnt my section." Finally a server came to get our drink orders and turned around right after we stated we will take waters to start and went to another table, looked to be her friends, she was hugging and laughing with them. i gave her the benefit of the doubt and didn't let it get to me. but when she went to the back and came back empty handed and went straight back to her other table (friends) and conversed with them for about 10 minutes. Still with not even our waters and sitting for 40 minutes we told her to not worry about us and we left. Very unorganized wait staff and really just inconsiderate to their patrons.

Yelp
Although I am writing a review on the Magazine St location, we ate at the Oak St location in the Orleans Parish. Even though this location is small in footprint, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We felt that the quality of food exceeded the price. We are not food snobs/connoisseurs , but like to have our food taste good and when it exceeds our expectations beyond price, we feel great. This is an unassuming store front on Oak Street not far from one of the streetcar garages. Our daughter brought us to this place on Thursday , October 5, 2023 after we arrived in NOLA. This location was very close to her apartment and our AirBnb. This establishment was a great respite after a long journey from Michigan (with a side trip to the Tabasco hot sauce factory). We felt that the food quality and flavor along with the salsa and chips (we didn't have to pay extra for extra salsa) [Big plus]. The walls were lined with posters stating their standing in the TexMex/Mexican standings throughout NOLA. We truly understand the love of their food as we were impressed with the quality and flavor of our meals. We highly suggest Juan's Flying Burritos over Johnny Sanchez (there is a location around the corner from Johnny Sanchez (515 Baronne St, New Orleans, LA 70113) which we felt was superiorly inefficient in quality and price related to Juan's flying Tacos. So, save yourself disappointment in the NOLA TexMex/Mexican food genre by bypassing Johnny Sanchez and heading straight to Juan's Flying Burritos. Remember, I am not a paid endorser and neither establishment is unable to sway me with free meals as we reside in Michigan and no meal anywhere is able to convince me to spend money on airfare to try their food. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60864-d477698-r921303195-Juan_s_Flying_Burrito-New_Orleans_Louisiana.html#

Yelp
Nachos were awesome. Roger the waiter was very friendly and attentive. Place was clean and full bar.

Yelp
Maddy was so amazing with our table, really made my experience phenomenal. I'm happy to say this is my new favorite mexican restaurant

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Fantastic!! Queso is deliciously spicy and the margarita strong!! Loved it and will definitely be back!!

Shawn M.

Yelp
Messed up easy take-out (specifically requested no beef on the taco salad and there was beef). Called and they said 15-20 minutes for the replacement. Rest of us ate and went back. Got there by the 20-minute mark. Had to wait another 15 minutes. You'd think they would give the wrong order replacement priority, but no. Really, really disappointing.

Mason W.

Yelp
Went in one night with some friends had a great time. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience. My server Garrett , was so fun and I'm v proud, only up for that guy !!
google avatar

Yelp
Even though this location is new, Juan's spirit is flying high here! We have loved this place since the 5500 Magazine location. The food does an excellent job of mixing tex-mex with New Orleans flare. Every dish takes you on a journey to making a memory of the night. This is also the best service I have had in awhile. Glasses stay full and the LemonBerry stays flowing! Great times great food will keep you coming back!!!!!

Yelp
Not a bad place to grab some quick creole Mexican cuisine not number one though. My girl doesn't like this place lol

Zoey K.

Yelp
Came here today for a quick lunch with a friend. The waiter was super drunk and has no concept of personal space. At some point he came to our table and starts grabbing my 5 month old baby's hands and feet completely unprompted. He then looks at me and in reference to my baby (who is mixed) says "her skin is so dark! Wow I can't believe how dark she is" which is super inappropriate. Food was okay, but that definitely rubbed me the wrong way

Anna B.

Yelp
The vibes are incredible here. I live nearby and it takes all the self control in the world to resist coming here every day. Margs are very strong and the service is always fast. Chips are tasty. I even came here with my laptop to do work over a pitcher of margs once and they were completely understanding! Def my new favorite place in town

Dami W.

Yelp
our server, MK was extremely attentive, friendly, and hospitable. plus the food was bussin, I hope I can get served by MK next time.
