Julia’s is a great local spot for drinks & brunch. All the brunch items were good but the Arepas Con Huevos were a real treat. I’ve never seen this brunch item before and it was perfectly balanced with savory and sweet. I would recommend! But again it’s hard to go wrong anyway to go at Julia’s.

WOW!! That is all I have to say. The food is amazing. I have been waiting to come here for a few months but I never really travel so far up Woodward. Somehow I missed this delightful hidden jam all these years. JUST GO :) everything is delightful, including the staff and the owner is lovely. <3 we love a good neighborhood spot and you know Ridgewood is filled with those. This one is on the very top of my list now! Thank you Julia’s!

Julia’s is a cozy neighborhood spot where no reservations are needed—just walk in. Be prepared for longer wait times during weekend brunch. A personal favorite is the Toasted Goat, a deliciously simple dish featuring toasted sourdough topped with goat cheese, fig jam, bacon, and honey—a perfect combination of flavors.

Google
Tried the brunch. Arepas were small, dry, and flavorless, and half the plate was leaves for $18. The waffle was nothing special and was $15. Need to make better food to charge these kinds of prices… Only thing good was the coffee from Loveless

Google
Terrific Sunday brunch. Had the Cubanish and Golden Lox, both with the potato salad. The salad was creamy and delicious. The Lox was my favorite because of how stellar the caper dill schmear and pickled shallots were. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful. Wonderful small brunch spot at a good price point that I will be returning to!!

Google
My family and I were excited to go back here for the second time. What a disappointment! It's one of the most expensive brunch we've had and left there still feeling hungry. My plate was filled mostly with leaves. Service sucked also. A waiter who was not serving us asked if we needed help, I said thanks but we're already being helped. He rolled his eyes and said that he can help us too. Really? This was the worse experience. Left there disgusted. Never again.

Google
Went to dinner with our conference group and enjoyed the entire experience. Each dish was excellent--heard not a single complaint--and the assistance on wine selections for the table was appreciated and on point. An open atmosphere made everything a bit festive, and the evening was very pleasant thanks to Julia's.

Google
Really great brunch menu with simple but great plates, lot of variety and some vegan options. We got 2 patatas bravas to share, cubanish sandwich, golden lox, old standby and toasted goat and they were all hits. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Yelp
Terrible Experience, Won't Be Coming Back I don't usually write these things, but I felt I had to after my visit to this so-called restaurant. I'm a man of simple tastes, you know. A good meal should be just that--good. Not complicated or trying to impress with fancy words and dry food. First off, the music. It's too quiet. They've got it so low that you can't even hear it properly, but it's still enough to be distracting. Makes the whole place feel awkward--like they can't decide whether they want it to be quiet or not. Back in my day, we didn't need music to enjoy a meal. A little peace and quiet, that's all you need. Now, the food. I ordered the Cubanish. It came out dry as a bone. No flavor, no moisture, just like chewing on cardboard. I had to chase it down with water just to get it down.I don't know who thought this was a good idea, but it sure wasn't me. If you're looking for a decent meal, don't bother coming here. I'll be sticking to my usual diner from now on. At least there, they know how to cook food that's worth eating. Stay away from this place, folks.

Yelp
Julia's Wine and Bar in Ridgewood is a cozy eatery that highlights community. it's the perfect brunch menu with items like spicy pork arepas as well as vegan options and mock tails. With an inviting atmosphere and just a feminine french flair, I really enjoy this place. it's one of my favorite newer restaurants in area ( i grew up here, so newer to me)

Yelp
My new favorite place for breakfast/brunch: Julia's. We've gone two weeks in a row and the food, ambiance, and service are all stellar. The arepas con huevos are out of this world good. Perfectly cooked eggs, delicious arepas with corn and mozzarella, and a refreshingly light salad to accompany it. We also got the Old standby which was a perfect breakfast. Super thick crispy bacon with eggs however you like them as well as seasoned potatoes and sourdough toast with olive oil. Seriously, the food is delicious. The service is also really attentive and friendly. Everyone looks like they are enjoying what they are doing and really care about your experience. Also their regular coffee is insanely good. Must try!!

Yelp
Love loved this small hidden gem. Would highly recommend to try. It is a tiny place so I'm sure it can get busy. Cutest bar at the entrance. It has a cozy vibe. Food was so flavorful and delicious. Must try the loaded bravas and toasted goat - top top fav !! But everything we ordered was delicious as well . Nachos and arepas also so so good ! Cocktails were so delicious and refreshing. We ordered the lavender gimlet, the last monk, guava pisco sour, bourbons bees knees . Great neighborhood restaurant.

Yelp
Not sure how I feel about the food. They weren't bad but definitely underwhelming and did not meet up to my expectations. Especially with the pricing, not justifiable. Nice interior, food did take a bit long to come out but that's totally understandable. I don't think I'll be coming back for sure.

Yelp
I love Julia's. Their Cubanish is delicious. I also like their fancy cocktails. It's comfortable for families, too.

Yelp
Friendly service. Nice ambience. Good tasting drinks and appetizers. There's not much to pick from the menu so you really can't be picky. But the food is presented beautifully. The vibe in the restaurant is very relaxing.

Yelp
I went here with a friend after having no luck at Rolo's since we didn't make reservations but were pleasantly surprised here. First and foremost, our server Selena was absolutely wonderful and a gem of a person so hats off to her for being so patient and lovely. Second, this has to be one of the most reasonably priced drinks menus I've seen and the drinks are solid as well. Third, the food is great too. We ordered the nachos and arepas to share and both were fresh and tasty. All in all, no complaints here and a great place to visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Was in the area for another event and was told to eat something before showing up. I didn't have cash on me, so I decided to check this place out. Hope they accept credit cards, they do! Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Very cute place and very comfortable. Checked out the menu and ordered a cubanish sandwich to eat in. I asked if I could grab a jacket and come back, no problem. Came back and I took a seat at an empty table (since there are several tables). Got a bottle of water and my cubanish sandwich was delivered. The sandwich was delicious and hit the spot. If you are in the neighborhood, definitely check this place out.

Yelp
Fantastic drinks and vibe. Food is always on point. Friendly staff and quick service.

Yelp
Crystal was an absolute pleasure via checking-in, taking our order(s), and checking in. Julia's is a gem of a breakfast or brunch spot in Ridgewood. My go-to is the Julia's Breakfast Sandwich with either sausage or bacon. Of course adding avocado is always a good idea! The Golden Lox is also very refreshing and filling. The side salad's dressing is tangy and always on point as well. We've been adding the loaded bravas potato's which are spicy and delish. The ambiance is incredible with vintage ceiling, full bar, coffee barista, and a very spacious bathroom. This is a dog friendly establishment. Indoor and outdoor sitting is always available. During the weekends there may be a little wait during peak hours (brunch). Also, the Toasted Goat is delicious and we jump between the Golden Lox and that. The Toasted Goat is on the sweeter side...thank you Julia's for always being a 5-Star choice!

Yelp
Came by myself and got the arepas and patatas. SO good. The cocktails were delicious as well and I want to come back to try more. I loved the little patio outside as well

Yelp
Most excellent brunch and food and the best part is they have AMAZING Pina Coladas - 10/10 will drink and eat again

Yelp
This place is great to grab a quick bite! Our waitress recommended a great mocktail for me and I loved it. Also our food came out super quick and was very reasonably priced, we were pleasantly surprised. The chicken pot pie dish was the definition of comfort food and you just can't go wrong with the nachos. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Will never go there again! This past Sunday, 9/8/24 we were thrown out of the restaurant simply because we told the waitress/ "Manager"(short brown hair lady with glasses) that the people she kept calling on her wait list were not outside waiting . She had 2 empty table and 2 chairs at the bar and insisted that she had go through her wait list before giving us a table (though theywere customers that clearly left). She finally sat us down and that's when we told her that there was no one waiting outside... she started arguing as to why we made that statement . She told us to leave and called us fuc--kin as-- hole !!!! We then went to Plein Air to eat and they were wonderful . We go to Rolo as well and they r fantastic with customers.... Never in our lives we have been treated like that by a so called "Manager" We will really like to know who the owner of this place is .. I'm sure they will not be happy with this waitress!!!!

Yelp
I feel bad giving this place 3 stars because the waitress was so friendly but there were a lot of mistakes made. First, they lied twice to us about the AC situation. We kept asking if the AC is on and they kept saying it was but it was so hot because the place was busy. Well, even when everyone left it was deathly hot. And we kept looking at the ac on the window and guess what no light was on and no air was circulating. It was one of the hottest days of the year and we wanted to chill indoors and I just couldn't enjoy myself. Second, my friends food and drinks never came. Her food came way when the rest of us were done. The only thing the waitress was very apologetic and comped us her meal. The food was very good the drinks were very good. Also for people who dislike my review and are sending me nasty messages - I am simply stating my experience yes I feel really bad for the cooks and staff it was really hot. I don't know how they managed. My 3 stars reflect my experience at being told the ac was on when it was not or as the owner clarified was not strong enough and that one of my friends meals was not timely. The food was good the drinks were good and my waitress was very polite and we left a large tip.

Yelp
My friend and I met here for brunch one Sunday afternoon around 1PM and the place was packed. We had to wait around 45 minutes and they call your phone when a table is ready. We sat near the front of the restaurant at one of the tall table sets that I really didn't like. You really have to have a smaller frame to sit comfortably in those seats. Plus we had our coats that made it more challenging to fold on our seats. My friend ordered eggs with sausage, potatoes and side of greens with a glass of mimosa. I had the vegan burger minus the avocado that came with it and chips. I chose the sparkling lemonade. We both enjoyed our meal and the service was quick and staff were very friendly. The vibe was chill but bustling with staff moving around checking on the patrons. I would definitely check this spot out again for some other menu items.

Yelp
The great reviews enticed me to go taste for myself, sadly, No disrespect to this style of cuisine but, I am sadly disappointed and cannot hype it up. We ordered the BLT with avocado and fries (We were informed there were no more buns, only sourdough bread; and no more fries or chips. Lots of greens with sourdough bread, 2 strips of bacon and homemade sauce with lots of greens. not a hit Dish#2 was the arepas which seemed more like mashed corn with 2 Sunnyside eggs smothered in spicy sauce and covered with greens. Not a hit. It was confusing and not satisfying.not a hit Dish#3 was the vegan burger which was a good competition to Costco's veggie burgers. It was mushy and tasteless. The sauce was only on one of the almost rock solid toasted sourdough bread decorated with, you guessed it,greens. Not a hit Honestly, overall, the dishes were guilt free eating but, I was annoyed with myself for taking a chance. Although the flow of customers continued and they seem to enjoy the food, I cannot endorse. Staff looked drained and no service with a smile. Keep me old school.

Yelp
Without a doubt my favorite spot in Ridgewood. Amazing food at an extremely good price. From a bomb breakfast sandwich and lavender latte in the morning to the Toasted Goat and espresso martini or lavender gimlet at night - such a good selection of things. Vegan-friendly as well. All of the employees are so nice and welcoming. A must try if you are in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Best breakfast sandwich in Ridgewood. When I'm in town, I have to spend a morning at this wonderful place. It's a must.

Yelp
Hello everyone! Julia's is such a lovely and homey place. I work hard as a teacher and the staff are so nice and always asking about my day. The service is amazing. Even on super busy weekends they entertain me and my silly friends and jokes. They always ask about my darling kitty Stoli girl which is so kind! The food is delicious especially the roasted potatoes, chicken sliders, bacon, and the salads are so crunchy and fresh. I highly recommend this spot! The olive oil cake and biscuits are delicious too!!

Yelp
Nice ambiance, acceptable service. Food is pretty good! Not much more to it. Which parking want so difficult in the area

Hollie H.

Yelp
Great brunch spot! Delicious drinks and food. The ambiance was nice- despite being small, it wasn't loud and didn't feel crowded. The arepas were nicely cooked and my sunny side up eggs were perfect! Patatas bravas were seasoned deliciously and well cooked. Can't wait to go back and try more drinks and plates.

Yelp
Nice spot for brunch. The service was very good as was the food. We were seated outside immediately on a Saturday morning around around 11. My daughter ordered the mushroom omelette, which had a nice variety of mushrooms and lots of goat cheese. My wife had the arepas, which are fresh corn and scallion cakes topped with eggs, mozzarella and a jalapeño cilantro salsa. These were delicious and the best of our entrees. In ordered the Old Standby, which a standard American breakfast with eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast. It was good but earned my only ding against Julia's - the $1 up charge for scrambled eggs. The waiter said they charge extra because the eggs are scrambled with dairy. I was expecting the eggs to be very fluffy but they weren't. Just plain scrambled eggs and not particular creamy. Not sure what they would have charged if I said I want regular scrambled eggs with no dairy but just kind of silly to charge extra. The service was good and staff and ambience were nice so overall a nice place for brunch with good food. Just don't waste your $1 for scrambled eggs!

Yelp
The staff and the owner are wonderful people who are all connected to the ridgewood community in various ways. Great sense of style, great energy, accommodating staff. I don't drink and every time I have order a mocktail I have been impressed. There is a sense of community within the establishment which is what I think many people are looking for in the city. Highly recommend the baked goods.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon & it was really beautiful. We sat ourselves next to the window & they had a v cute assortment of live plants. It did take them a while for them to assist us when we first arrived, we stood at the door for a while but staff is very kind and friendly. What we ordered: Cinnamon Apple waffle -- 12/10 Very soft waffle , so delicious Vegan Harvest Hash -- 9/10 The dressing they coat this with is so yummy! I literally couldn't put my utensils down for a second even to take a drink. We also ordered two of their cocktails. I got the mezcal sour & it was really good! 10/10 My friend got the sparking wine cocktail which was also 10/10 really great!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious coffee! I love the aerepa con huevos & my friend ordered the basic : and dang that bacon was fried right! The potatoes were super yummy too. Totally coming back

Yelp
This place is so cute and quaint. There's a little charm to it, but really the food is the star of the place. Every bite was delicious and mouthwatering. Pretty mediocre service but again, the food is where it's at!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I've been coming to Julia's for about 7 years. The food is consistently amazing I crave the corn arepas with eggs and spicy pork. The service is impeccable and Geneva is the absolute best.

Mike W.

Yelp
Best brunch place we've been too. Affordable prices and great food. We aren't drinkers, however the brunch menu is delicious.

Yelp
Stopped in for brunch and had a great experience! We sat outside. The service was prompt and our server was very kind. The food came out quickly. I ordered the vegan burger and was so *pleasantly* surprised at how delicious it was. Definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
I came here for brunch as it was my friend's birthday weekend. Ordered the toasted goat, which had a very inviting description. When I got it, I was unimpressed. The food description overstated the delivery. As with similar places, brunch in NYC has just been a cash cow and s cheap experience. One of the wait staff also had poor communication skills about an out of stock ingredient, rendering my friend's order essentially obsolete. What I liked: - outdoor seating - goat cheese and fig combination What it lacked: - memorable food that matched what was marketed What it could improve: - staff communication skills and take responsibility for gaps in communication - finding ways to elevate their ingredients (felt like I could grab ingredients off the shelf of a nearby supermarket and do it myself)
google avatar

Leah A.

Yelp
The food here is excellent. It's a very small space so seating can be limited and really tight. I prefer sitting at the bar where you can see all the action. The cocktails are amazing too and we enjoyed chatting with the bartender/ host when we were there recently.
google avatar

Natasha P.

Yelp
The Chicken potpie was absolutely amazing. I love the "chic" take on the potpie with the puff pastry and taste of the wine was absolutely superb. My friend had the goat cheese with bacon jam. Sooo GOOD GUYS! Its everything that I thought it would be. Julia's is a cute staple in the neighborhood. I love the decor inside. It's quaint so make sure you catch a seat by the window. There's a nice ledge to put your belongings. The cocktails are $12 which is nice considering NYC prices. I'm only taking off a star for the service. I'm not sure if they were understaffed but we kind of waited for a long time for everything. Nonetheless, I would go back!

Yelp
Me and my wife's favorite brunch spot. Delicious food and coffee! Amazing drink selection. Great service and atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was super friendly and the ambience of this place was very pleasant. But the biggest standout was the olive oil cake with rosemary whipped cream. I was already planning my second visit after my first bite into the cake. Miss her already

Yelp
Phenomenal Eatery great service great prices I definitely will recommend a spot I go here with my family at least once every month never fails always great
google avatar

Yelp
Great sandwiches - we had the "toasted goat" (goat cheese and bacon) and the "cubanish" sandwiches (both on sourdough) and friendly quick service. Sandwiches come with choice of sides, including mixed greens. Nice space inside and outside seating as well in the covered sidewalk space.
google avatar

Yelp
I've had brunch here several times, and got take out many times during the pandemic. My favorite is Arepas con Huevos with pork, it has fresh corn and just tastes amazing! I've also had the smothered toasts and pumpkin pillows, which I think are seasonal. I love the fun mimosa's like prickly pear. Great romantic atmosphere and nice decor. Will have to try their dinner sometime.

Kim T.

Yelp
It took a while for people to realize it's the brunch spot in Ridgewood--and yes, better than Rolo's. Now it's rightfully nearly impossible to get a table on weekends! Food's consistently amazing, service is great and it's pretty affordable.
google avatar

Joseph T.

Yelp
I would rate Julia's four and a half stars. They have a great list of wines by the glass. It features a nice variety of wines. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the lost and offered some great recommendations. Interesting menu for food too with many vegetarian friendly options. I had the mushroom melt which came with a couple side salads. The sandwich had a perfect crust. I liked the creativity of the sandwich. My wife had the goat cheese melt and the pork arepas. Both were great too. The arepas were probably my favorite item. Staff was knowledgeable and attentive. Definitely a great spot for drinks and more.

Yelp
My wife and I have been in Ridgewood for over 5 years and we've been dining here pretty consistently during that time. The OG staff is rad (I follow a few on insta) and the food is great. Their bacon and eggs are no joke! And their drinks are fun and delicious (and boozy). Unfortunately we'll have to take a break from Julia's. My wife and I sat down for dinner last Friday and our server (a new guy?) threw us some major shade. And it wasn't busy or anything! (We went early to avoid the rush). My wife's favorite dish wasn't available so she jokingly asked "what's the secret intel on when I can come in and get it?" Our server (in a circuit board patterned onesie) responded "yeah that's not how restaurants work, ok?" We really didn't dig the downtown attitude from the new guy so we bailed. Which was a bummer because the Cubanish sandwich slaps!
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Really delicious AND super affordable! I got The Old Standby (as pictured) for brunch last Sunday; soooo great! And $11 --very reasonable, and an amazing bang-for-buck ratio. Plus, great cold brew, great service, and a cool/charmingly creepy (haha) Sade painting in the bathroom (as pictured). I'm moving back to NYC next year, and I will definitely be a Julia's regular!
google avatar

Mak M.

Yelp
This spot has a cute wine bar vibe. Very cozy inside with fun decor. Approximately ten tables inside and seating is available at the bar. There is also seating available in the shed outside, but it is not heated. Some random kids were sitting in there and smoking weed when we went, so its probably not a good spot to sit in during the colder months. Service was good and attentive. The drinks were decent. Food was ok - we had the patatas bravas and sweet potato hash. Sweet potato hash is waaaay overpriced - $14 for a tiny portion of sweet potatoes and chickpeas. The patatas bravas were $7 and the portion size was the same as the sweet potato hash. My friend had the chicken pot pie turnover, which she liked. Only one item on the dessert menu, there should definitely be more. Also - very few good vegan options. It would be nice if they expanded their dessert menu and added some vegan options to it. Coffee was good. Overall, definitely a good place for a date or a quiet evening with a friend or two. Beware - parking sucks!!!
google avatar

Yelp
So delicious, fast service, and super reasonable prices. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
After the owner gracefully handled an insane dispute from some screaming, unruly people on Mother's day (classless, we were sitting outside and could hear them screeching inside), we had an incredible time here, as we do every other time. Julia's is a beloved neighborhood staple. They've evolved so much over the years and always have solid food, great service and the owner literally rearranged tables to comfortably accommodate mine and my friends' kids. They always bend over backwards to try and accommodate everyone and some people just don't appreciate it. Julia's always delivers. It's my go-to for bringing family and friends. It's a credit to the neighborhood, and they've been here for a long time, hopefully for many years more.
google avatar

Yelp
a gem in the Ridgewood neighborhood - worth traveling to from neighboring Brooklyn areas. service was very pleasant - they were slammed but were able to communicate that and did so in a way that wasn't off putting, but very polite and pleasant, while still letting us know we were important and would be gotten to quickly. the food was FANTASTIC, from the London fog teas to the entrees down to dessert. each dish was delightful with impactful and unique flavors. It doesn't say this on the menu but you can add eggs as a side to any dish!
google avatar

Melissa V.

Yelp
Just the best local brunch spot in Ridgewood. The food was amazing, plus the service was exceptional and quick. We will def be going back!
