The ambiance brought on by the floral atmosphere? Visually appealing. The menu? Pretty satisfactory. The service? Slightly too casual/nonchalant for my personal liking. Allow me to elaborate...
I took my better half to Juliette recently upon receiving a referral to this establishment from a work colleague who highlighted its location, its entrees, and its decor. Seizing the opportunity sans scouring any reviews beforehand, we booked a reservation for a dinner date on Valentines Day. My expectations of it being exceptionally packed was spot on, and therefore not an overwhelming sight.
Seated roughly twelve minutes after our arrival, we were treated to a cozy table within the back end of the restaurant. We met our server within arguably eight minutes after being seated, allowing us ample time to to not only plan out our drink selections, but our appetizers and entrees as well. After introducing herself and the evening's special menu, our server took our order and departed, returning back with our drinks approximately ten to fifteen minutes later. I began to silently take note of the time in between the servings, yet also recognized how densely populated the restaurant was at that given hour... therefore somewhat of a reasonable wait, given the circumstances. I recommend the Juliette Spritz, which my wife and I equally enjoyed.
Moments later, our appetizers were brought to us, and they did not disappoint. The French onion soup was savory, the escargot pleased my wife's palate, and the Spanish octopus was quite delectable. I believe our perceptions of the food deviated once our entrees were presented. Dining was halted momentsriky, however, due to not being brought the proper utensils beforehand and then having to wait for our server to finally notice us flagging her down in request of such. Having both ordered steak frites (yet at different doneness levels), my wife and I began to discuss our respective takes on the entree. Personally, I was pleased with the bordelaise sauce but slightly underwhelmed by the texture, size, and flavorfulness of the steak frites. My wife complained (to me) of its lack of tenderness, taste, and the placement of the bordelaise sauce underneath the steak.
Unimpressed by her entree, my wife opted out for dessert, but I wasn't going to allow that to deter me from shot at Crème Brûlée, lol. Speaking of which, kudos on the richness of it, I genuinely enjoyed the dessert. Ultimately, I was relatively pleased with the menu. My only quip was the absence of our server throughout the evening, as she appeared arguably curt, bogged down/overwhelmed, evading, and thus inattentive at times.
