"Like most of the other restaurants serving Peking duck in Chinatown, New Jumbo Seafood serves its version two ways: crispy skin with pancakes, and duck meat stir-fried with vegetables. At $40, it’s the best deal of the bunch. New Jumbo Requires two hours advance notice for diners hoping to eat Peking duck." - Terrence Doyle

Google
we ordered lobsters, which was delicious, the beef was delicious too, crispy tofu was great. we went to this place again, 2 people and two dishes, food were good, but the service was OK, they didn’t introduce me the food, ordered and sent to us, $45, I paid $5 tips, they were very unhappy and rude, they asked 18%, but they only ordered and gave the food, nothing was special, we will not come back anymore!

Kasy Ordinario

Google
Everything was very tasty! We waited a bit as it was a Saturday night. Food was served on a timely manner and staff were really checking on us. Must try the lobster with glutinous rice which was priced reasonably well, the scallops with vermicelli, we also had the walnut shrimp and broccoli and lastly the chicken and pork intestines/tripe hot pot. Highly recommended!!

XIAOHUI ZHANG

Google
Not sure why there are posts saying that the service is bad. I had a quite good experience in the restaurant and all staff are very friendly helping us with the hotpot and prepare the meat for us. They gave us desserts in the end as well. The coconut chicken hotpot is highly recommended.

Jumbo seafood restaurant Hudson St Boston, If your ever in Boston and crave dim sum or seafood, you won't be disappointed, large variety of dim sum and seafood dishes, service is attentive and professional. Har gow has wonderful flavor, chicken feet(feng zhao)spring roll, stuffed tofu skin, short ribs are very delicious, hong Kong style cuisine to peak your palette.

For anyone who lives in Boston and wants traditional din sum, this is the absolute perfect place! The servers are fluent in mandarin and Cantonese, so it may be a bit more difficult to get the full experience if you don’t speak either dialect. However, you can still get many delicious dishes and good service from the staff here. Highly recommend, will be coming back if I visit again!

Google
I had the “Assorted seafood in a mashed taro basket” dine in service was great although it took awhile for my order it was well worth the wait, best seafood “platter” I’ve ever had!

Google
Be careful when you eat Salted Egg Yolk Lava Buns. It tasted good but it really exploded on my coat, sweater, and vest and it was very hard to clean.

Really good food, nice atmosphere, reasonable price, and friendly staff in the Chinatown neighborhood!

Yelp
Food: Everything was truly DELICIOUS! Their seafood dishes were cooked to perfection, also their fried rice was also good (with chili sauce). Service: We had to ask for spoons to eat with the fried rice, but the food was really fast! Ambiance: Typical Chinese restaurant, so nothing fancy. But we all left content :)

Yelp
Came on a weekday dinner with some friends. Service was great! Food is good too! Everything was phenomenal. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for traditional Cantonese food.

Rose Q.

Yelp
Amazing food, but not very good service. We asked the waiter to help us take a group photo, we asked three times, he was right there collecting plates and putting on new dishes, but he pretend didn't heard us at all. It was very weird and kind of ruined our happy ambiance a little. We were there to have a good time, not taking attitude from a grumpy server. The food was absolutely delicious. But let's be honest, there are a lot of great Chinese food in this area, to stand out needs good dinning environment or good services. The environment is limited by being very popular, it was crowded and loud. But the service can be a little bit more friendlier. If he responded he's busy or even don't provide photo taking service is fine, but completely ignore customers is very impolite and embarrassing. The 4 stars are for the delicious food and other very busy but very kind kind servers. You can see in the photos all the dishes are absolutely scrumptious. I will go back to try it again, maybe during a time it's not too busy. Hopefully next time will be a better experience.

Yelp
Fun fact: Boston's Chinatown is the last standing Chinatown in New England! My parents love visiting Chinatowns when they're on vacation, so a trip to Boston wouldn't be complete without it. We stumbled upon Jumbo Seafood and thought they weren't open at first (hours incorrect on Yelp), but saw another party walk through! We got an assortment of dim sum. All tasty! The shrimp dumplings in particular were large and plump! Just a FYI: we tried to order chow fun and pea shoots but were told those items weren't available until 11am, so it seems in the early morning hours it's limited to the steamed and fried dim sum only. Service as expected at a Chinese restaurant: curt but got us what we wanted when asked. At $75 including tip for 4 people, this was a great value!

Lakeman G.

Yelp
They don't know how to cook. Out of All 4 dishes only 1 is okay. I'd not recommend this place.

Gennie L.

Yelp
my boyfriend and i stopped by this restaurant after our trip from NYC and we loved it! they serve dimsum up until they close (2am). we were so thankful it was open, and had food that we love. we ordered take out in person, and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. they charge extra for take out. we were super satisfied with the shrimp rice roll and har gow (shrimp dumplings). jumbo seafood is truly a hidden gem. it's located right next to the chinatown gate. check it out! overall rating: 10/10

Fay H.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to us by some locals and the dim sum was excellent, would recommend to others.

Yelp
Boston Chinatown Seafood restaurant .. Tried Dimsum last time and check the Lobster with Ginger& Green Scallion today. Lobster was Fried by piece then Grill it with ingredient.. Tasty Good and Fresh Vegetable always My favorite.. Good service and for sure will come back in next trip to Boston ...

Nikki N.

Yelp
Family style Chinese restaurant with many options. I ordered the salt and pepper calamari and beef chow fun noodles. I love coming here with a group since they are generous with portions. The staff are also friendly. I will be stopping here whenever I'm in Chinatown.

Yelp
Before going to a concert, I visited Jumbo Seafood for a quick dim sum fix for a late Sunday brunch. The restaurant was packed. Small and congested but clean. Surprisingly, all of the dishes we ordered came out at once. We ordered standard dim sum dishes, such as har gao, shumai, chicken feet, and shrimp dumplings. Everything was pretty good, no complaints. It's good to note that after 4 PM, there is a $1 increase charge for every dish. I think Jumbo Seafood is solid for a small group for dim sum but not for a large party. They also serve traditional Chinese dishes as well. Although the food took awhile to come out, the servers were attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. I would return!

Amy Z.

Yelp
First, I must say this is some of the best dim sum, fresh out of the kitchen, everything was tasty but not salty. Restaurant ambience was nice and clean. However, areas of improvement, one: employee showing up on time for a 10am opening, two: order of food coming out. There was some confusion between the two servers where our food was ordered first and it got sent to another table hence we waited another 20 minutes until our last two plates came. Beware parking in Chinatown is a hit or miss you can get lucky and find a free spot or you will circle around for a longgg time. Also the price was cheap, we paid about $90 after taxes and tip. However, we will come back for the food and hope they have figured out the rest.

Flora T.

Yelp
This restaurant is one of my favorite in town. I always go here after clubbing. But this time, as usual, we came at 2am, we ordered food, and one of my friends wanted to order more and the waiter , who is wearing the white shirt, told us the kitchen closed!!! However, later on, we saw another group came in, they still took their order!! What is the point here???

Frances L.

Yelp
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dim sum! This is a busy Chinese restaurant in Boston's Chinatown that serves great food. My son is attending college in Boston and missed good Chinese food. This satisfied his craving and we all enjoyed the dishes. The restaurant is clean with good service. We ordered a variety of dim sum as well as some veggies and noodles. Yum!

Big N.

Yelp
Wow is all I can say today ! I visited my favorite spot again and it didn't disappoint! Fried Calamari Lunch so tasty. So good you have to try it !

Mike M.

Yelp
Late Night Chinese was great. Felt like I was at late night Atlantic City noodle bar!! Hit the spot!!

Sherry W.

Yelp
When you come here, you have to order the authentic Chinese food! So skip the sesame chicken. I've eaten here a few times and their seafood is very fresh. Their lobster, Vancouver crab, eel and even shrimp are live in the tanks you see when you walk in. The food tastes great but occasionally, a dish or two can be a little salty for my liking. My favorite dishes are the steamed oysters with black bean and scallions, salt & pepper calamari, seafood vegetable on a taro nest, and Chinese style steak.

Honest R.

Yelp
Service is not special or even that dependable. They have the audacity to judge and pushed for more tip money. How dare they act greedy? They made us felt otherwise which was very much unappreciated. We didn't bother them or made any sort of scenes for them to expect anything more. They should be grateful for the business and the respect we came in with. It's not like we didn't leave anything. We will not be giving them anymore businesses.

Angela C.

Yelp
Horrible, greasy, over-fried food. Plus worst services. Don't bother eating them unless you want a stomachache.

Jasmine U.

Yelp
The salt and pepper shrimp!!! Terrible. They have the whole shell on them. Not cleaned. They're shit on them. They're bleeding. Just disgusting. The pork buns are good.

Ray R.

Yelp
After innovation, they have changed a lot. Brand new courses are provided. The service is improved. Seafood curry rice really amazed me. It's not your everyday Indian curry. The curry tastes light and smooth with a fresh seafood flavor. The shellfish and other live seafood are highly recommended as well. Nothing to complain, just 5* rating.

Kysha R.

Yelp
I would them ZERO star for service. The server was argumentative and obviously in the wrong job. When I asked for missing cutlery, soy sauce and additional paper napkin, HE was not happy and showed it. The quality of food is not the same either. Never going back!!!!!

Leslie M.

Yelp
I ordered take out from here and there was a bug in my wonton noodle soup. Disgusting.

S. C.

Yelp
3 of us went for dimsum on a Wed. Bill came to $106. Had dimsum and some noodle dishes - food was ok. The biggest problem is the manager hollering at the staff right in front of customers. Clearly on a power trip, satisfied through humiliating lower level staff. Will never come back here!

Alee L.

Yelp
It's been decades since I've been to Jumbo. Before it was under new management, I have only been here for dinners. So today I have come here for dim sum. In short dim sum is pretty good. The major downfall was the wonton I got had a mini mosquito in it. So I told the waiter and he replaced it. The service overall is a mess and poor. The staff got the wrong dishes to the wrong tables and I noticed that people were annoyed, and there was a woman who stood in the kitchen where the wait staff was and was annoyed and asked why are my dishes taking so long. It was funny to watch but that is an example of poor service and the lady was not the only one hollering at the staff about what is taking their dishes so long to come out . Also, the space is extremely tight, small, and cramped. It was so cramped to the point as I was sitting, my back started to hurt. Due to the mosquito in my wonton soup, the service, and the cramped space, which led to my back hurting, I find that unforgivable, and I will go elsewhere for dim sum. Hence if I could, it would have been ZERO stars if that was available.

Crispy C.

Yelp
The customer service was really good, we were seated in 5 minutes after we got here. the staff were really kind and nice! Me and my mom had so much fun eating here, the food was really good hot and fresh!

Totsaporn I.

Yelp
#点心 # The dim sum is delicious and waiters are polite. They know how to speak English.

Victoria M.

Yelp
Love a good Chinese seafood restaurant! We ordered the lobster with E-fu noodles, tofu dish and many others. I loved how the waiter fished the live lobster out of the tank and took it into the kitchen for the chef. The lobster was so fresh and delicious! I'm not a big fan of E-fu noodles but next time I will definitely get the crispy noodles!

Megan L.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick dim-sum. The lady in the front was really nice, but the waiter that served us completely forgot about our order, we waited for over 30mins to get served and it took use forever to hail down the servers. The food was decent, the best dish was the fried Buddha delight, siu mai, and stuffed eggplant. Love that their hot sauce is actually really spicy also. The chicken feet wasn't as flavorful, shrimp rolls rice roll was too thick, and the shrimp and taro cake was sour. I thought it was me, so I had my cousin try it and she said it was sour also. I try to tell the waiter it was sour but she immediately shot it down saying that it was impossible. Don't think I'll ever come back for dim sum ever again.

Sharon L.

Yelp
We have peanut and treenut allergy and I am always cautious dining out at asian restaurants. The manager there understood food allergies and went out of her way to make sure there weren't any cross contamination. She even had the cooks use new oil!! I was amazed at their service! Food was delicious!~ We got the Peapod stem in minced garlic, Walnut shrimp without the walnut, sweet and sour pork for kids, and the yangchow fried rice. Everything we had were sooo fresh and good! We have been going to this place for over 20 years (10 years living in boston area and 10 years visiting every couple years), and even under different management, its kept its same yummy taste!

Rob J.

Yelp
Quick dim sum stop but really good! Had har gow and pork soup dumplings Both highly recommended Friendly staff!

German L.

Yelp
The new owners are committed to serving the finest freshest quality seasonal ingredients in Hong Kong Cantonese Cuisine and Dim Sum! The Chefs and wait staff are excellent! Support this local Chinatown Asian restaurant and educate yourself on these authentic flavors that will open your mind with simplicity and love!

Jessica L.

Yelp
We got dim sum to go and ate in the park across the street. They were very nice. The dishes we got were yummy for sure. The packaging was largely styrofoam which I hate. The steamed rice in lotus leaf was a huge portion. The fried dough wrapped in rice noodle was one of the best I've had. They didn't have a chef who could do noodle dishes when I went at 9:30am which was a bummer. Also they struggled a bit with getting credit cards to work... still a solid choice for dim sum!

Kay V.

Yelp
Hands on one of the best Chinese food in Boston. The new owners and staff are amazing. Our food came out fast and we love every food items we ordered. I recommend the Intestines w/mustard greens so bomb!

Carl R.

Yelp
I have gotten deliveries from Jumbo Seafood via Uber Eats on a regular basis, but recently things have been going downhill. A few weeks ago I ordered salt and pepper fish filet, Chinese broccoli, and rice, with a note added to the selection of rice asking for chopsticks. When my food arrived the rice was missing. Tonight I wanted to avoid any distractions, so I ordered the same food items with no special requests. The rice was missing again. Something isn't right at Jumbo Seafood.

Jasmary B.

Yelp
Terrible service my family and I were sitting down for over 10 minutes before somebody came up to us and that's only because I got the waiters attention. We got our crab Rangoon and it was drenched in oil and looked disgusting. I told the waiter that we didn't want it because of the amount of oil excess. He proceeds to tell me that it's fried in oil and that's how it looks. I tell him I understand it's fried in oil but it looked drenched and oily. He tells me to calm down. I tell him to get me the manager and tells me to get up and speak to her. This place needs to close down

B H.

Yelp
Food quality was outstanding, hands down. Kenny the new owner was very professional and provided great customer service. Thank you sir, much appreciated.

John D.

Yelp
At least no water ration at this restaurant... Overall pretty decent place ... good food, good service and inexpensive! I think a find in Chinatown as this is my 6th different Chinese restaurant this week .. :) give it a go ...

Ha V.

Yelp
Now Jumbo Seafood is under the original owner Kenny's management. It offers both Chinese dim sum and seafood cuisine. Choose a fresh lobster, shrimp, crab or eel from one of the numerous salt water tanks lining the walls. Enjoy a meal of scallops with ginger sauce or the jumbo oysters with black bean sauce. The indoor seating is comfortable and relaxing for couples or large groups after the renovation

Phil S.

Yelp
5 stars for great food and warm atmosphere. Service is hit or miss but this is a low key, family style restaurant. Will definitely come back with family.

Carol W.

Yelp
Service is poor. Caters to only Caucasians. Seating hostess is rude. When I entered, saw people waiting to be seated walk out due to her ignoring them. Should have taken that as a sign of their poor service.

Zaynaf S.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars, I definitely would. Waiter sat us down pretty quickly but it went downhill after that. They didn't even bother giving us menus, he was helping other Chinese customers even taking orders from another party that arrived after us. We waited 15 mins without anyone acknowledging us. Worst Chinese restaurant experience ever and we love Chinese food (coming from the Bay area.)

Jasper A.

Yelp
I didn't tip them the amount they want, one guy came back and tried to force me to tip more, telling me 'this is how it works in America'. If you're in this situation, don't argue with them, just leave straight away. If you get blocked or attacked, call the police immediately.

My Mom I.

Yelp
Food is good but the portions are small. The waiter forgot to bring us one of our meals and they still charged us for it even though we didn't get to eat it.

Caroline G.

Yelp
You know you are about to get some good Chinese food when the restaurant has round tables and all tables are full! My girlfriend and I came for a meal after having had a massage across the street and holy moly. This was an awesome way to end our girls day, we were STUFFED. We ordered the king crab which was pucked out of the tank right in front of us, dumplings, bok choy with mushrooms, and vermicelli noodles. By the time the noodles came around were too stuffed to finish but boy did we enjoy the meal. My only reason for the 4 stars is that I wish we had the cracking tools for the crab, we were literally cracking it with our teeth, which although effective was very messy. Also, servers were very nice but not really attentive, we had to stop a couple of them for things like extra napkins (again king crab). We'll be back!

Wayne A.

Yelp
Took my family here for Dim Sum lunch the day after Thanksgiving and my mother unfortunately had a serious medical episode during lunch (unrelated to their food, and she's fine now). When she passed out at the table and I was rendering aid and requesting 1) the staff call 911 for us (they didn't), then 2) tell us the street address of the restaurant so we could direct EMS to us (they didn't say anything), rather than offer any assistance at all, the waiter brought us the check and demanded immediate payment for the meal!! ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME?!?!? Show some humanity, you jerks. Sorry we were such a burden as my mother was wheeled out on a stretcher into the back of an ambulance.

David R.

Yelp
I have frequented new jumbo seafood a bunch of times so this review was well overdue. They have excellent seafood everything is alive and swimming around in the tanks you can basically pick your own dinner. They even have jumbo clam. One of my favorite is the steamed scallop. What I just found out is there open late night they stay open till 3:30 in the morning every day. And they offer the full menu the entire time. The staff is quick and courteous the food comes out extremely fast that definitely moving back there in the kitchen. Prices are reasonable. Cleanliness I give it about a three which is a proximately average for all of the restaurants in Chinatown lol. I Give Jumbo Seafood a Solid 4 Stars.

Angela I.

Yelp
WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS!!! I love trying Asian cuisine foods around Chinatown and this is the worst I've ever been to. The service was horrible and food was the worse. Firstly we had a bunch of stares when we (my partner and I) came in and then they barely attended to us. We waited for about 25- 30mins with no explanation or service. The food was absolutely horrendous and that's saying a lot because how can you mess up noddles???? At this point we were trying to be patient but nobody would look our way. when we didn't tip because it was absolutely horrible(food & service). The server snatches the receipt and tells us we have to tip and is beyond rude and yells at my partner for not tipping. We paid for our food as much as we disliked it. you get it you pay for it; which we did. Nowhere does it say in the restaurant/menu it is a mandatory to tip. I explained we where not serviced with any kind of decency other than them bringing our food and they kept yelling at us for tips. As we were leaving one of the servers yells a racist slur at us and says to not come back. Ultimately that was one of the most racist experiences we've ever had and will absolutely be never returning to this place.

Richard W.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place great dim sum. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious I come here one to two times a week. Everything on the menu is cooked perfectly. Highly recommended and every server there is fantastic. Can't say enough about the food, delicious.

Alex K.

Yelp
I have already reviewed The Jum way back but I have decided to "addendumize" it after returning last night. My advice is: If you want Chinese food then go to Chinatown. Seems logical... Moreover, go to a place that has a live tank. You won't get any fresher than a fish that was just pulled from a live tank and cooked pronto. Contrary to this, most all round-eye "high-end/fancy" seafood restaurants around Boston are not really fresh seafood as they boast to be. And they charge mega-high prices for some puny chunk of fish that is no fresher, or in fact often less so, than you can get at DeMoulas. I bet that restaurant stuff often sits on ice or is refrigerated or even frozen for days. Fresh my eye. Fresh fish comes from a live tank, bro. The Jum served me up a fried whole fish from the tank with a bean sauce and spicy to order and it was supreme and extreme. It was just 25 bucks and the sauce was out of this world and the fish was dynamite. I even ate the eyeballs as these are a collagen-laden treat. And they taste good too. The Hot n' Sour Soup was good and my One got her "usual" -the PuPu Platter but she wished she had gotten (got?) the fish that I had. Next time for sure. And it's eel from the live tank for me next time.. My One also ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice or something similar with white rice. It was hot and freshly made (anti-Panda Express) and was very good. The waitress was nice and she chatted with my One about girl stuff like Gucci and stuff. The waitress nicely helped me eat my fish by deboning some of it for me since my lack of skills and experience showed. Some good American-Chinese stuff on the menu here too. Of course the main reason to come to Chinatown is for real Chinese stuff like beef shins and abalone (expensive) and giant clams (when available) and geoduck and other delights. Keep it fresh and keep it real, YELPers.

Joseph R.

Yelp
Ginger scallion lobster: Best lobster ever. Really nice folks. Beautiful restaurant. Everything is tasty and unique.
