Junior

Junior is an awesome bar in general, but it was also the perfect place for our engagement party. We did a full buyout for around 60 people. Compared to other bars or options in the area, it was really affordable and super easy to work with. Would definitely recommend for both casual drinks or a fun event!

Pretty solid bar, with specialty cocktails. Some fantastic and some just ok. A little far away from other places to bar hop, but good enough to take the extra couple minutes. Happy Hour prices are good, otherwise a little pricey (standard SF prices though).

We rented out the whole bar a couple weeks ago for a group event and it was fantastic. Amazing drinks, atmosphere, and service. Our friend group has been coming here for many years — our only regret is that they stopped selling branded hats as we would totally buy some :3

Junior is a great casual cocktail bar in Potrero Hill/South Mission that has a disco-hipster-meets-elevated-dive bar feel. I love that they have low ABV options, it feels very progressive for a bar and hopefully this becomes the norm. Under the Low ABV section, I went with The Peaks cocktail ($13) which includes alpine amaro (ever so slightly Smokey, a slice of lime, peach syrup, and lots and lots of small ice cubes in a tall glass with two straws. The bartender misheard me at first and thought I ordered The Beets instead of The Peaks, but when I asked them if this was The Peaks. My friends got the mezcal cocktails and enjoyed their Smokey beverages in cute coupe glassware. They have tables and a dance floor with a disco ball, and even though at the end of January they had multi-color Christmas lights hung around the bottles on the wall behind the bar.

Great drinks, exceptional service, chill local vibe. Extensive cider and beer menu behind the cocktails, definitely will be back.

We started a night out about town with drinks at Junior and I can say none of us was disappointed. Great drinks, especially if you let the amazing bartender recommend a drink or better yet, surprise you. The icing on the cake though were the tortilla chips and amazing salsa. But the cherry, the cherry was having fresh arepas made on premises whilst we drank and chatted. I wish I had photos of them but I promise they were phenomenal and I would not have been disappointed had we stayed there all night.

We came here around 9pm on a Friday in April. We were the only ones there at first, but there ended up being a decent crowd by the next couple hours. It cost $73 total including tax/tip for four drinks. * 49'R ($14) - 4 stars. Really good, giving you a zesty strong fizzy mouth feel. Even I liked it (and I don't usually like bourbon). * Paradise City ($14) - 3.5 stars. Our friend got one and it was good. We got a second one later that night and it was way worse because the bartender was busy. * All Thai'd Up ($14) - 4 stars. This was tart, sweet, tasty, and fun. The prominent flavor was a creamy coconut.

The drinks are delicious and equally as beautiful. The bar is spacious and has happy four daily from 3-6. The bartender was alright.

Really cute little bar with smooth cocktails and friendly staff. We went on a week night so it wasn't very crowded, but they stayed open because we were there on a date. This place is a gem.

Excellent drinks and cozy atmosphere where you can have a conversation and enjoy your company. A cross between a cafe, bar and lounge vibes. Will be back.

My go-to casual cocktail bar in the city! Depending on the night, there could be loud music and large crowds, but come on weeknight for a more quiet and intimate vibe. Lots of seating and room to walk around, the disco ball and photo booth is also a nice touch. I got the coconut milk cocktail that was refreshing and delicious. They also have a selection on natural wines which were a plus! Come for happy hour and you will not be disappointed.

Love this spot. Ordered the only cider on the menu and LOVED it. They also have all sorts of fun and creative cocktails on their menu to choose from. Great size location with awesome music and fantastic service. Had the pleasure of meeting Olivia & Bree and felt right at home! Adding this spot to my top favorite places to go when I need a refresher.

If you are a fan of handcrafted cocktails and good vibes, head over to Junior in the Mission district! Tucked away in a residential area near SF General, I experienced some of the tastiest cocktails I could find in the city and the best part, and at a very reasonable price. All their handcrafted cocktails are $12, which for city standards is a pretty good deal. The bartenders here were all knowledgeable and willing to describe the drinks and provide recommendations on your personal preferences. A couple of my favorites were the 'Beach Fossil' which transported me back to the islands of Hawaii with fresh flavors of coconut, lime, and pineapple. If you enjoy grapefruit flavor, definitely recommend the 'Hat in the Ring' and if a margarita is more of what you are feeling, the 'Mission Margarita' checks all the boxes. They have plenty of seating inside, and the have the ability to open their giant windows to allow for an open-air feel for the most part. They had a DJ setup around 6pm playing lofi, contemporary R&B, and neo-soul music, which really sets the vibe for a place to catch up with friends or low-key spot for date night. Junior is definitely on the must-go list for any friends visiting the city and days/nights out in the Mission!

Great little cocktail bar serving cocktails at $12 a pop! Ordered the Great Northern (Gin, Cucumber, Agricole Rum, Lime, Sugar, served on rocks with a cucumber slice), Hat in the Ring (gin, amaro, pink grapefruit, lemon) Beach Fossil (rum lime, pineapple, coconut, apertivo - think something tropical), and Your Cheatin' Heart (mexcal, blanc vermouth, genopy - think mezcal negroni). Pretty well put together drinks, all of the above were stiffer cocktails except for the Beach Fossil. Good spot for a mid-day catch up or an early happy hour, will return

First time here and loved it! Big, open windows offer tons of natural lighting to match the interior decor. Chloe the bartender is great, and she gave us these cute little tastings of mezcal which I normally can't stand but she just might've turned me!

Very nice, quiet, mellow cocktail bar with great music and vibes. I could not stop looking at the mid century furniture style as well as the ceiling (really cool design!). I don't frequent SF night too often and instead of a noisy place I found like if I was in one of the bars I used to go back in Spain where you can really talk to your friends while listening to the music and having a drink. Dog friendly, the friend of my friend brought hers and was super happy to be left alone quietly in her chair:). We found parking exactly by the entrance, not sure if it is an area of The Mission with less traffic but I found it so easy to get in and out. Everyone there very friendly.

Relatively quiet bar, even on a Friday night, but super chill vibe, about half the folks in there were clearly working at the hospital, and a very nice menu of interesting cocktails and decent beer selection. Our group had about 5 different cocktails between us and all of them were super tasty and flavorful. The bartender was nice, efficient, and very talented!

Great neighborhood bar in the Mission. Junior looks dive-esque from the outside, but the interior is quite nice. They have a decent cocktail selection (around $14 per drink) and a selection of "fresh beers" on the wall. We enjoyed all 6 drinks we got mixed across cocktails and beer (the Thai cocktail comes in a coconut milk can, which was fun), and service was friendly and attentive. There's table and bar seating inside, as well as standing room and 2 gender neutral restrooms. Music was a bit loud, especially because there are speakers above basically every table, but otherwise, a fun, casual spot!

I was staying at an Airb&b in the area and was at Junior nearly every afternoon to stop in for a drink. Great vibe, staff and chill clientele. Just the kind of bars that I enjoy. Got some good tips from the bartenders on spots to check out as well. Oh & the music was good as well! Loved the shot glasses I sipped my mezcal in.

Pretty tasty cocktails, and a nice open atmosphere. The big painting/ mural directly across from the bar of the circle of life is pretty cool. A friend from SF an I checked this place out last month and ended up staying for a few drinks. Very laid back vibe, there was only one person working the whole time we were there which was around 5pm, but she made cocktails like a pro. Drinks we had tried in order of which we liked best first. Mission margarita: pretty tangy but the mezcal switches it up a bit. Toki the bear: this was interesting, comes in a bear shaped glass Lambo: kind like an old fashion, but i'd prefer an old fashion. Then i think we had some light beers that don't qualify. The prices weren't bad, good spot for an after work cocktail where you can hear the person you're talking to.

I enjoyed my experience here! Junior is chill spot to hang out with your friends. We came on a Friday night around 9 pm and it wasn't too crowded. My group of 4 was able to find a table pretty easily, which I really appreciated given that some places get really loud or overcrowded on a weekend night. Their signature cocktails are $12 each. I tried two, the Pink Sombrero (tequila, coconut, amaro, and grapefruit) and the Nostromo (pisco, pineapple, lemon, and white pepper maraschino). Both were on the sweet side, and I enjoyed both, but I was a little bit disappointed in my Nostromo. My friend ordered it first, and I liked hers when I tried it, but the one that I got tasted completely different. This happened again with two other friends ordering the same drink from different bartenders, and their drinks were quite different. I would suggest that Junior ensure the bartenders are all following the same recipe for their signature cocktails.

First time at Junior and it was such a lovely spot for a group of 8! Fun cocktails and very attentive service. One of our friends wasn't amazed by his drink and the bartenders were so understanding and immediately gave him a fresh martini. Everything else was delicious and the staff were super helpful in helping to decide what we want to try.

This part of Potrero Hill gets as much love as Khloe K, who my friend calls a sasquash. People are so mean. I don't care what people say about her. She's my favorite of the three sisters because she keeps it real with her unfiltered, potty mouth and has the most amazing hair. I was happy when I heard the owners of Brass stacks and Anina were taking over the Jack's, and turning into a hip, cocktail bar called Junior. It's located in a part of Potrero Hill that's doesn't get much foot traffic but it's conveniently located just a block from General Hospital. Just like their other bars in Hayes Valley, it's dog-friendly which is a huge plus in my book. Signature cocktails are $11 and they also have beer and wine. Currently, it's cash only but there's an ATM inside. I was recovering from the flu (yah, I know I shouldn't be drinking but I had a tough week at work) and wanted something gingery. I asked the friendly bartender if he could make something with a top shelf gin that was gingery and he totally delivered. My cocktail was well-balanced with a delicious spicy sweetness. It was so enjoyable that I ordered a second round and finished with a fernet neat. There's plenty of seating and a photo booth ($5) so you can take some buzzed pics. If you get that Asian glow, probably best to pop some Pepcid AC beforehand. Junior is such a welcome addition to this part of the neighborhood and I'm happy that I now have another option for a dog-friendly bar near home!

My favorite cocktail bar in SF with an amazing show of drag performers! I love the rice lager and all the cocktails. Really fun diverse crowd.

Great new trendy cocktail bar on the block. This place is quite spacious and has seating in the rear of the bar for big groups. The bar is super clean and that's a big plus in my book. They have a good menu of drinks to choose from - we got the Puebla punch and the little sun and they were both delicious. Will surely return.

I love how open and sunlight filled this bar is. You feel just like you are at a park with a good book and a great drink. I go on Monday cause the bartender is so fun and nice to talk to. Weekends have DJs

This place has great cocktails! Pop up shops with local vendors every other Sunday. Great vibes. A very safe place to hang. Kyle and Chloe were awesome. 10/10 recommend!

Stopped by for a happy hour cocktail and ended up staying for more because of how good the menu looked! Great space, interesting menu, friendly staff, and fresh ingredients for their cocktails! The gin happy hour drink that I tried was excellent. I also tried the Tom Ka and Mickey & Mallory cocktails from their regular menu. The Tom Ka was creamy and sweet, the Mickey & Mallory was fruity and refreshing. Such a great cocktail bar worth checking out! I'd love to try the rest of their menu. I'm told the menu changes every 6 months so there will always be something new to try.

Junior is the new kid on the block. Step into the venue and it's nice and cozy for an intimate setting. The menu boasts a vast variety of tasty cocktails and other booze. Definitely come by if you're in the mood for a cocktail. Junior is not fooling anyone with their name. You can tell this is not their first go-around at making delicious drinks - seasoned vets honestly.

Love the vibe at this place! Learned about Junior from Gemini bottle a while ago, so psyched to finally make it here tonight. They have happy hour 3-7 pm, which is limited to a couple cocktails, beer and wine. We ordered a few cocktails that are more spirit forward, and I really like the achromatic negroni. The bartender did a great job explaining how they decide to bottle and serve the negroni, which is different than what I'll normally get elsewhere. Make sure to check out the blackboard for the special drinks of the day, which we missed. But can't wait to go back and try something different next time!

Hey Junior...welcome to San Francisco!! I strongly urge all you cocktail nerds to pay this place a visit before the secret gets out and you'll be forced to wait in a line. The back bar is mighty impressive and it's beautiful, clean esthetic is modern and inviting. On to the cocktails. Our bartenders name was Kristen and she was creating some glorious off menu concoctions. I'm a big amaro fan so the base spirit she worked with was cynar and other fernets in the same family. The result was creative, refreshing and if I might add, whimsical. There's plenty of light and I'd encourage any patron to grab a seat at the bar top by the window to enjoy some people watching with your epic drinks.

Jack's? Sooo not Jack's. Where oh where did my dive bar go? I was prepared to hate this place because they went and gentrified my Jack's. Only I couldn't because it's actually nice. The pictures on Yelp make it look a lot more fancyass than it is thank goodness. I would never have selected this place to meet, but a friend lives really close by so I agreed. I got there a little early and nobody cared that I worked for an hour or so before my friend showed up ( it was pretty early tho...think they might have cared if it was later.) There's free wifi, and the barkeep is very nice. There is also a good selection of beer on tap. I didn't see food, but there was a taco truck directly outside to soak up alcohol as needed. 4 stars because it isn't Jack's. But it's good.

*** In Short *** Podunk bar serving up amazing, wallet-friendly cocktails. *** In Depth *** Located in, for all intents and purposes, the middle of nowhere, Junior is a cute and playful cocktail lounge serving up fantastic cocktails at prices which also happen to be very accessible ($11 at the time I went). Make sure to bring cash though, or a liquid appetite, because they're cash-only if your tab comes in under $15. And because it's not really located near any other restaurants or bars, the clientele tends to be a bit more low-key, and the place rarely seems to gets packed, making it a great venue for chill conversation. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - Open and spacious, with mostly high top tables and counters. That said, there is a lower section at the bar towards the back that's a wee bit more wheelchair friendly. Bathroom - Didn't try them.

After a single Sunday afternoon visit, Junior has already vaulted it's way in to my top handful of cocktail spots in SF. The bar itself is a newly remodeled former dive deep in the Mission, and man is it glorious. The space is clean, modern and colorful with minimal furnishings, interesting art and little nods to it's long history as Jack's Club. We were welcomed by our bartender Kristen, who was fantastic. We started out with a "Miller Lo-Life," which is a grenade of Miller High Life alongside a shot of Lo-Fi Gentian amaro served in a little ceramic dog. The amaro is poured in to the high life, and a pretty enjoyable concoction is created. Cocktail-wise, we tried the Hat in the Ring, Southern Man, and a few other spirited off-menu creations from Kristen... all amazing. The cocktail program overall ranges wide across the spirit spectrum, but it seems they are up to the task of creating fun and interesting combinations and flavors for all palettes. Will be back soon!

My partner came here during Christmas Eve and they were opened until 12am (the calm before the storm; aka attending long Christmas parties the next day). There weren't too many people around so we got to enjoy the bar in a quieter environment (YES!). It's not often that you can communicate with your partner in a bar without having to scream over each other. We tried four different cocktails and they were strong and delicious. Not to mention each cocktail is only $11! That's a pretty sweet deal for quality drinks. The bartender was attentive and made drink recommendations throughout the night. We will definitely come back whenever we're in town! PS. they have a photobooth near the back of the bar.

Place: very modern and cute decor. Open and lots of back seating Drinks: normal pricing but signature drinks are limited. Mainly beers and no top shelf vodkas. People: my friend and I went on a Monday but the crowd was interesting to say the least!

Pretty thrilled with the idea of having a nice neighborhood bar 1 block away from my doorstep! The transformation of the space is really impressive and I have lived the unique cocktails and experience Junior is delivering! Its not super small inside but can get packed on the weekends. They often have pop up food vendors and live music -- there's also a pretty nice dance floor area! Theirs quite a few beers on tip in addition to their awesome cocktails as well as a few wines. I wasn't a fan of any of the wine I've tried when I've been a few times so I stick to beer or cocktails . This is a nice place to stop before dinner in the mission or for a fun night out with friends! The staff at Junior has been really friendly as well! Follow them on IG for updates on what's happening , I feel like they've always got something going on!

We came here on a weekday night and it was pretty empty (which is my favorite). While everything we ordered on the menu was great, the bartender was also amazing at making customized cocktails if you can't decide on anything. I'd come back to check out the happy hour specials too.

'cool bartenders' rude automatic response after asking him to turn the music down a bit which i believe i asked on behalf of everyone in there. whats wrong with adjusting the volume if there are 8 people in the bar and literally no one can hear each other? my neighborhood bar which i actually really like but will skip if 'cool bartender' is there. thanks.

Alec is the best! Spent a lovely late Monday afternoon finishing a little work and then having some great beers and cocktails with a friend. Awesome music and wonderfully relaxed atmosphere on a weekday

Seeing all the good reviews makes me think I came on an off day, but I have to share that the experience here was less than pleasant. Great drinks? Yes. Inattentive and very unfriendly bartender? Also yes, unfortunately. I will give it to him that he was alone and doing a lot of work when he should've had someone else helping, but that's not an excuse for straight-up ignoring polite, waiting customers, and being overwhelmingly unfriendly in general when he does finally come over. I'll give it another try because I like the bright, airy space with plenty of seating during the early evening, and the drinks were good, but I hope for a better experience next time.

This bar is dope. The drinks that I ordered don't seem to be on the menu anymore, but they were some of the best I've had. The bartender was cool and got our sense of humor. Layout is pretty interesting too.

If you are looking for a good cocktail, this place was very good. Tom kha drink was great. You should try it.

Came here on Friday night after having dinner at Son's Addition. The bar was fairly empty and wasn't too loud that you couldn't talk with your friends. The bartenders were energetic and welcoming as we all ordered our drinks. I had a gin cocktail that used egg whites for that beautiful foam -- ugh I wish I remembered the name! It was good and fruity without being sickly sweet. All my friends were boring and either ordered a beer or a gin & tonic -- they were still happy with their average choices! Junior has an updated decor that is modern and trendy! The bar is pretty dark in there so this may be a great place to take a date (if it's been going well)! I would definitely return here for another night cap or to get a mid-day beer.

Junior is one of my top favorite bars in SF. ITS CASUAL , simple, no fuss but AMAZING drinks. The staff are really nice. Meech is the man!!!!

Went here early on a saturday night (8pm) and place was mostly empty. I got a rum drink which was served in coconut milk tin can which I found to be whimsical, however the drink was very average. The bartenders seemed talented and nice but I didn't enjoy my drink so much.

This place is right next to work. We came here with a bunch of folks from work to catch up and socialize. There is a lot of table seating and a large bar. The place is pretty clean and they let dogs in because there is no food. The cocktails menu is huge. The beer menus is also decent. It is does not have a huge wine selection though. The crowd is mostly young professionals. The bar staff are attentive and work fast. The downside of the dog friendliness is that they only have bags of pork rinds to eat. Granted bar food is never amazing so for me that is not a deal breaker when I am just coming to get a drink but it worthwhile to know before coming.

Best bartenders, most fire cocktails and the chillest vibes in the whole damn city. I love this place. Really a gem of an establishment. Perfect balance between great bartenders, great ambience, great cocktail program, and great neighborhood bar scene. Do yourself a favor and go sip some mezcal and eat some pupusas at junior, you for sure won't regret it. Seriously I love this bar so much, and you should too

My go to bar. Great selection , awesome bartenders, delicious cocktails, great ambiance, and the best playlist. Not sure who's in charge of the music but it's always on point . Also not usually shoulder to shoulder packed and not obnoxiously loud.
