Junior's Restaurant and Bakery

I am reviewing the bakery section. Very busy location! I stopped by after seeing an early play on a busy Saturday afternoon. The traffic is bustling and very difficult to find parking. The cheese cake was delicious! Very light but rich. The location is small but they move fast to get you in and out. You cannot sit inside but there is outside seating. I hope to try the restaurant next visit.

Excellent place for families to get a good quality food, superb service, and great atmosphere. We had a few hours to kill so we stopped by during late afternoon. We ordered few drinks and some pastries. Everything was served in time and all the food tested really good. We highly recommend this place.

Gracias Junior’s ☺️ we’ve been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the best service was and food was during breakfast and lunch hour. It gets busy around 9/10PM. The menu is overwhelming at first but they serve whatever you are cravings. Nice breakfast/brunch choices. The grilled cheese is heaven! And you should absolutely get a shake. Their seasonal lemon cheesecake is good, but I would prefer more lemon on it. The coffee they serve is good, at least all my family liked it. Again, this place was our to go to when everyone wanted something different to eat and my mom only wanted bread and cheese 😂

The grand-finale of the day was, of course, the desserts at Junior's! Starting with their Strawberry Flavoured Junior's Skyscraper Ice Cream Soda, it was a deep dive into nostalgia with a modern twist. The perfect blend of strawberry ice cream and whipped cream transported me to a blissful state, reminiscent of childhood joy and summer days. Yet, amidst this sugary dream, the soda itself felt somewhat lackluster, not quite living up to the effervescent fizz I was expecting. It seemed to play second fiddle to the already sweet ensemble on my table, craving a bit more sparkle to stand out. The original cheesecake, however, was nothing short of a masterpiece. It struck a delicate balance between density and creaminess, rich in flavor yet surprisingly light on the palate. Each bite shouted what a NY style cheesecake should be, with its thin layer of sponge cake at the bottom rounding off the experience beautifully. It was as if each bite was carefully crafted to convey the essence of the city itself - bold, sophisticated, and utterly irresistible. Red Velvet Layer Cake, a vibrant contrast of colors and textures. The cheese icing sandwiched between each tender, yet dense layer of cake kept me on a sugar high that I didn't want to end. Each layer a blend of softness and rich flavor that danced on the tongue.

My friends and I stopped by Junior's Restaurant & Bakery at the late hour of 10 pm for a sweet break. The bright, retro-themed interior was welcoming, and a staff member seated us quickly and handed out menus. The items were in a small font, and many dotted lines made it difficult to tell what the prices were. Our Famous No 1 Original Cheesecake: It had the potential to be great but was taken straight from the cake fridge. The cheesecake itself was decent, but nothing exceptional. The slice had rough edges, and certain bites had an unexpected fermented flavour, which was odd. Red Velvet Layer Cake: Visually appealing with bright red layers, it boasted a fluffy and moist texture. Again, it came straight from the fridge, making the frosting pretty firm for my liking. I would have preferred it slightly warmer. The interior of the restaurant was spacious and clean, including the bathroom. The server was friendly and attentive, refilling our coffees every now and then. In terms of value, I noted that the prices were high compared to my overall experience. I may return, but it would not be my first choice.

A landmark in NYC, if you love Cheesecake, you can't not have a slice from Junior's. I had not eaten dinner here before. The service was exceptional. The restaurant runs like a finely timed Rolex. The menu is huge with plenty of options for American cuisine. We really don't have a great deli in my hometown, so I had a craving for a really good Reuben. Junior's did not disappoint. Thin sliced corned beef was tender, juicy, delicious and stacked high. The sandwich was solid. The sides of coleslaw and I wanted to try the potato salad were so so. The Cheesecake was, as anticipated, the star of the show. Cooked perfectly with a layer of sour cream to cut the sweetness. So yummy! The kids got milkshakes which looked and also tasted delicious as well. The cocktails were good, The old fashion and the mule were good.

This was such a fun experience. We really enjoyed the whole vibe of the restaurant. We had been meaning to try the one by our hotel in Brooklyn, but didn't have the time so we were thrilled to stumble onto this location. The drinks (Brooklyn Old Fashioned & Margarita) were great and the loaded potato pancake was delicious. We got the strawberry cheesecake delivered to the hotel later that night. The strawberries and gel weren't that great but the actual cheesecake was perfect. I would definitely try this place again if I'm back in town.

Fun place to eat and take a break from the hustle outside. Junior's was easy to get a seat later evening and quick service. Our server Gracelynn was great. We had a burger and fried chicken sandwich. Others in our group all had burgers as well and they were demolished by hungry teen girls. Good for sure, but maybe not the best burger ever. Steak fries and a few large onion rings came with the burgers. Amazing looking desserts ordered next to us and lots of cheesecake in the display! Great place to bring a family or fun group.

Excellent food after Macey's parade. Fun atmosphere. It was extremely busy but we were seated quickly .

Nice to-go option for a sweet treat right next to the restaurant. Great option if you don't feel like waiting in a long line to get a table. Small little store with only outdoor seating available. Prices are somewhat reasonable for being a tourist trap. The two employees in there were very friendly and helpful. When I ordered a brownie, he told me there are nuts in it because he wanted to make sure I was aware in case I had any allergy issues. The brownie was ok, definitely doesn't live up to the juniors hype. Pretty basic and had a slight chemical taste. Not the best but good for mass produced.

Legit delicious NY Cheesecake!! No need to mess with the classic/traditional. Just order it! Our server said one slice to share 2-3 people. Wrong!! Get your own. Enjoy it!!! Go back again when in NYC

This review is for their cheesecakes only. It is overrated and we were so disappointed. I've been wanting to try Juniors for the longest after reading that they have one of the best cheesecakes. We've already tried Eileen's (which was soo good) so we wanted to try something new. For about $10 a slice, I would've thought it would be amazing. The only thing good about it is the size of the slice. We got the strawberry and Oreo and ended up throwing it away after a few bites. It was hard and not even creamy. It was a major letdown for sure.

What an experience! My boyfriend & I decided to go after watching The Great Gatsby. The wait was 10-15 minutes long and it was quite busy so we were impressed how fast the wait went by. We were seated at a booth towards the back of the restaurant which we both appreciated. Our server was awesome, incredibly helpful, & very kind! 10/10 made our experience even better. We weren't too hungry but decided to share the brisket sandwich & a cup of matzo ball soup. For dessert we decided to share their sundae. Matzo Ball Soup: My first time trying matzo ball soup and I really enjoyed it. It was flavorful and just what I needed for a chillier night. Brisket Melt: I was not the biggest fan but my boyfriend really enjoyed this. The meat was very tender and it was overall--seasoned well. I think it was too heavy for me during that time. Sundae: The perfect way to end the night. 10/10

Clean and nice place, use the restroom while you are here they are clean! Food was like maybe an overpriced Dennys. Cheesecake was good. Other than that can't say more about it. Service was great, everyone was nice.

Wonderful breakfast and large selection of cheesecakes and dessert. We both enjoyed our breakfast. Eggs Benedict were done perfect. Prices weren't bad either.

$$ 1/2 Unbelievable. The food is incredible and the portions are insanely big. We didn't have to wait and it's centrally located in Times Square. This is a must go whether you're a tourist or a New Yorker. The most amazing pickles, and cheesecake. Service was very good.

Many folks have said this spot was good for the food, but especially the dessert. I didn't eat here but I dropped in for sweets. The carrot cake and cheesecake was out of this world. Large slices with no regrets in every bite

There are 2 Junior's locations at Times Square. This one is on the northern end on 49th St off of Broadway. I stopped in here for lunch when I was in town to run the NYC Marathon. Since I was by myself, I headed for the counter and grabbed an empty seat. I had their Reuben sandwich. It was a decent sandwich with the meat stacked high. Then I got a slice of strawberry cheesecake. If you're never had a NY cheesecake before, beware, it's quite thick! The bartender was nice and friendly. He refilled my glass with water whenever it got low.

Loved matzoh ball soup! Delicious flavor! Reuben sandwich was disappointing and sad looking - dry and barely anything else on it except meat! Fries were ok! For dessert we got strawberry cheesecake - that was definitely the worst part of our meal - very dense and hard cheesecake but strawberry topping was so gooey and had weird and unpleasant artificial strawberry taste. Do yourself a favor and skip it! Our waitress was very nice and pleasant, service was quick. Place is very busy, already decorated for Christmas and festive. Crowded and loud! Best way to get in is put your name on waitlist on their website so you don't need to wait very long!

We ordered an entire 6" strawberry cheesecake to share amongst the 4 of us because it was on sale for only $19. This cheesecake was delicious and more than enough for the four of us to share. The staff inside helping us was super friendly and helpful.

I was so excited about trying this famous cheesecake! My husband and I got there around 9pm and the place was packed! We went straight to the bar to ask for a slice of strawberry cheesecake, it is HUGE! We shared it and still couldn't finish it. It was so thick, rich, so creamy, perfect with the sweet and tangy flavors of the huge fresh strawberries. New York style, definitely worth trying, go for the experience, it's a GOOD cheesecake.

this was enough sugar for the whole month. we wanted a little sweet treat but then got a little carried away with our order... we got a strawberry cheesecake, pumpkin pie cheesecake, and a strawberry sundae to share. the strawberry cheesecake was good! a denser cheesecake rather than light and fluffy. the pumpkin pie one wasn't as good and kept falling apart bc the cheesecake was firm but the pumpkin pie part was too soft. lastly, the sundae was just two scoops of ice cream with whipped cream on top. not worth it imo service was not so great.. i understand that they may be super busy but it shouldn't take 15+ minutes for them to bring us waters :/ i think we saw our waiter like 3x the whole night ambiance is casual. lots of families eating dinner around us but i did see a couple groups order only dessert like we did strawberry cheesecake: 9/10 pumpkin pie cheesecake: 8/10 strawberry sundae: 7/10

I was visiting NY for the first time and knew I had to try this spot! I only wanted to try the dessert and was happy to see that there was a line just for the bakery and a separate host / line to be sat for a full meal. The bakery was efficient and I was out of there within 5 minutes despite the line being long. As someone we is just eager to try the spot and doesn't have someone to share the slice with, nor a fridge to store it in, I did wish they'd had an option for a smaller slice at 1/2 the price. Of course it was delicious , just too large of a slice for me.

Food is good but prices are for tourists only. I recommend the chicken noodle soup to go with matzo balls.

Cheesecake was incredible as expected! Ambiance was fun! Service was great. We went during Thanksgiving weekend.

oh boy what can i say about except hallelujah. today was my birthday and thank god i was birthed to consume this fabulous cheesecake. they were sadly out of oreo but the original cheesecake sure made my taste buds hit the griddy. i started to hit the dab and praise god when the velvety creamy cheesecake entered my mouth. i love nyc i love cheesecake and i love juniors. god bless america god bless our troops god bless cheesecake and gentleman start your engines. enjoy and props to whoever cooked this up they deserve a fist bump

After a fantastic show, my sister and I enjoyed a hassle-free dining experience, quickly securing a table on a typically busy Friday night. Our server, Lewis, provided top-notch service, expertly keeping our coffee cups filled. The delectable Disco Fries, smothered in a flavorful gravy, were a true delight.

This place gets packed! If you want to sit at a table, I would recommend making a reservation. However, there's plenty of seating at the bar. Even though the place was busy, the service was great. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. We only went for the cheesecake. The red velvet cheesecake was phenomenal. However, the mini cheesecakes aren't as good. The mini cheesecakes are too thick and taste like straight cream cheese. I would recommend getting the regular cheesecake slices.

In the heart of Times Square, we visited on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. It was busy but were seated right away. Our server was personable and answered all of my friend's questions about the way she could have her oatmeal. It was delivered as promised. I chose the Liz and bagel platter. It came with a very generous portion of lox and a delicious, fresh everything bagel and a huge mound of cream cheese for me to slather on my toasted bagel at will. There was also a generous slice of red onion, tomato, and capers. Our server checked on us frequently and kept our water glasses and coffee cup filled. The menu was not as extensive as many similar kinds of delis in the area, but there were sufficient choices to make most people happy. There was also a deli counter for sandwiches and sides. It was very busy and had a line of folks waiting to order. The place was clean and there were several kinds of seating areas - counters with high chairs; small booths; larger booths, and mixed sizes of tables and chairs. My friend ordered the red velvet cake which described as "so delicious". There are many deli-type restaurants in this area. You would probably get a decent meal at any one of them, but if you choose Junior's, you should have a good meal too. Mt friend live a few blocks from here and frequents this place. I had wanted to go to one of the other delis but I'm glad that I took her advice and we came here. I recommend it to anyone looking a quick breakfast or lunch or for something to take away for later.

Whenever I googled must visit restaurant in NY, Junior always came up so my kid and I decided to have a lunch here. We were seated immediately on Wednesday around 1:30pm. The restaurant was still full but the service was quick. First came the sides which were amazing! The pickles, pickled cabbages & pickled beets were delicious! I could just ate them alone. - Kid's cheeseburger meal with french fries & ice tea: the burger looked big for a kid version but my kid finished it all. The buns were soft and the patty was flavorful and juicy (perfectly cooked). The french fries were ok - could have been more crispy. - Matza ball: good cup of soup on rainy day. The broth was good and the ball itself was savory, soft, and very filling. - Chocolate egg cream: this was my first time having egg cream but I was not too impressed. I wish they put more chocolate syrup as it was diluted down. - Cherry cheesecake: cheesecake was creamy and very decadent. The cherry sauce on top was a bit too sweet for my liking.

We went there right before a Broadway show. The service was great and this location was bright and cheery. To top it off, the food was delicious. We will be back!

Wanted some good sandwiches and dessert breakfast. Found this spot which reminded me of a IHOP version in California but better. Greeted and Ordered out food. Took about 15 minutes to receive. No complaints about the food. Good portion sizes plates, but averaging to $17 to $22 a plate. It can be a little pricey, I was on vacation which did not matter to me. I know what I had to pay since this establishment was close to Times Square (Tourist attraction) Our waitress was nice, but the problem is I could not find her which is clearly about staffing issues. I had to flag down another waiter to get our waitress. Overall, I'll come back if I am ever in town again.

We had dinner here last night, our server was great and the food was very good. It was recommended by a lady we met at the airport while traveling, so we just happened to walk up on it while in NYC, glad we did. Highly recommend.

If you want purely desserts, this bakery is right next to the restaurant, so do not feel like you need to dine-in to enjoy their desserts. I ordered the hostess cupcake and their brownie explosion cheesecake. The cupcake was moist, decadent. The cheesecake was dense, rich, and creamy. I enjoyed this the night after and it still tasted fresh. I didn't even refrigerate it! It was still so good!!! So glad we stopped by!

The Raspberry Supreme Cheesecake was the truth it was how cheescakes ought to be measures. The Raspberry topping was thick and sweet full of berries in the preserve. The texture was perfect and firm. I would d get this again but there are so many others to try. The service was great also.

Every so often when I'm down near Times Square for a show, I love to stop in here for some disco fries and a sandwich. I've been trying to do something new on the menu every time I come in, and I have never once been disappointed. The disco fries slap, and surprisingly their buffalo wings do as well. The portions and pricing are normal for the tourist areas, and will definitely get you full. I do enjoy the 50th St location more than I do the 44th St one as it is usually less busy, and it has a larger front entry area so you aren't stuck outside waiting, or waiting in a crowd of people like the 44th St location.

If you're looking for a breakfast place and bakery, this is the place to go. As you enter, you will see their cake and pastries selection. The restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate a lot of people. They get packed especially in the morning. They give you a complimentary pastry called rugelach. Their omelette is huge, good for sharing. Our server was nice and friendly. I noticed they have quite a few branches just in Time Square/Manhattan area alone.

$9 is a little pricey for a slice of cheesecake but it's worth the hype and occasional splurge. Get the sampler box at Costco for better value. But it was nice to try the OG after seeing a Broadway show. We tried the pineapple and apple crumb slices. Both were great and not too sweet. Plush, fluffy texture. Delicious!

My wife started with Juniors club sandwich and fries. I decided on the Ruben on rye so tasty. We also picked a couple desserts to go triple chocolate fudge cake and I chose the world famous strawberry cheesecake. This is not a Military friendly location (sad). Really tasty food right in middle of Times Square.

I stopped in to get some of NYC best cheesecake ever. Sammy jr. was our server he was great we only had the blueberry topped cheesecake and some great coffee! The place was packed and clean. I had a lot of fun! Loved it!

Junior's has ample seating, an extensive menu, and spectacular cheesecake. I started going in college, and now, I love visiting when I'm back in town.

Juniors is conveniently located near my hotel in Times Square, and makes a great breakfast place. It was just me this morning, so I sat at the counter immediately, got coffee quickly, and was able to order without any hesitation. By the way, the coffee is very good just black. The poached eggs on the corn beef hash were excellently done, and the hash itself was just right. Even the grits were very good for me, although a true southern aficionado of grits might have a different viewpoint. Be that as it may, I enjoyed it a lot.

I know it's a tourist trap, but I still love their food. It a New York, so don't expect an inexpensive meal, but it's worth it. I have to grab a slice of cheesecake every time I come here, but their sandwiches are surprisingly good too. Service is hit or miss, but they are usually nice and friendly. The restaurant is always clean.

I have visited this Junior's on several occasions. You can't visit Manhattan and not stop at Junior's for some iconic New York-style cheesecake. The first location opened in Brooklyn over 70 years ago. This location is at Times Square and can get quite busy. If you don't want to wait for a table, they have a quick-service order counter at the front of the restaurant. I came here with a group of friends years back to celebrate a birthday and had fun devouring some late night cheesecake and coffee. Junior's uses the same recipe for their cheesecake that they used when they first opened in 1950. They also serve dinner and breakfast. You can order a full cheesecake online and they will ship it to you in a protective, stay-fresh container. They also sell their cheesecake in certain stores. Even though Junior's has a lot of seasonal and specialty cakes, I personally like the classics. Blueberry, Strawberry and Pineapple are some of my favorites along with an iced latte.

They absolutely have the best cheese cakes! I have been coming back for so many times, my go-to order is definitely the matzah ball soup and the original New York style cheesecake, they have so many favors, but you can't beat the original. The environment is more like a diner, very casual and chill, and they have the prime location as well. They also have another bakery within a few blocks if you just wanna get the cake to go.

We happened to end up to this place after our Broadway show on Broadway theater. This was the only place we found open on a Tuesday night around 10:45pm. We waited for about 5 minutes to be seated. The waitress came right away and she was so warm and kind! She handed over the menu which is very long and has too many different options to choose from. We ordered one cheeseburger and one plate of the homemade chicken tenders. The burger had no flavor although it was cooked in the right temperature -I asked for medium. The onion rings were soggy and the tomato was pink to white. Fries were so so. The chicken tenders were burnt! For this reason we asked the server to bring us a new order. She assisted us right away and after 10 minute a new plate arrived. This time they were edible. The interior is full of red and orange colors. I wish a had a great experience so I could give a better review.

Best cheese cake ever. Where can I find it in Northern CA? Do I need to order it from New York?

Very crowded but the wait staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was huge and delicious! Would highly recommend their sandwiches, but the star of the show was the cheesecake. Some of the best I've ever had! The inside of the restaurant was also vibrant and fun.

Well let's start with dessert first- the cheesecake was amazing! Wish we could have taken one back home with us, but we definitely enjoyed it while we were there. A great piece of birthday "cake" for sure. The service was phenomenal- in the bakery and restaurant they were so friendly and had great recommendations. The lunch we had at the restaurant was flavorful, the portions generous and we really enjoyed the food (and price point was great). The restaurant and bakery are beautifully kept and were already decorated for Christmas, which I truly appreciated. This was one of our favorite places to have eaten. Absolutely loved it.

We stopped by for a slice of the Raspberry Supreme Cheesecake (no pie crust) before heading to The Notebook Musical next door. If you are wondering if you should catch that, pleaseeee do. It was phenomenal and left us in tears; anyway I digress from the cheesecake hehe. It was delicious ofcourse but a bit overly sweet for my taste. I'd have preferred it to be mild so I could finish an entire slice by myself ;)

Must try famous spot for breakfast/brunch. Two of their locations are in the heart of NYC (in Times Square). This spacious restaurant and bakery is the perfect spot for breakfast/brunch and also lunch and dinner. They have plenty of seating and offer a variety of dishes and cheesecakes. They are open from 7am and depending on the day they close at 11pm-1am. We went at around 7:45am and they weren't that busy but when we were leaving at 8:45am they were starting to get packed. Food 5/5 Service 4.5/5 Ambiance 5/5

Absolutely terrible service. I had to ask for water and ask for jam for my toast and confirm the toast and hash browns with my order. Had to ask for cream for my coffee. Poached eggs were overcooked. Nothing special here IMHO

I thought the corn beef and brisket Was not good. Too dry. Maybe too lean in my opinion. The service was very good but the restaurant was VERY cold. I ate with my hat and coat on. Fortunately the matzoh ball soup was very good and helped warm by body as well as my soul.
