The 15 Best Restaurants In Birmingham, Alabama - Birmingham - The Infatuation

"Birmingham’s only gin bar is a boozy garden party. You have groups of well-coiffed ladies giggling over goblets of bright coral spritzes on the lush outdoor patio and couples snuggling close on the suede loveseats inside, stealing sips of the gin-spiked Stormy Daniels martini. There’s even a strong food menu to rein in everyone from the edge, with things like creamy furikake-topped edamame hummus served with crisped pita wedges and platters of duck fat-fried Kennebec potato fries drizzled with a chili aioli. But despite all of Juniper’s English garden refinery, it’s the smashburger oozing with cheddar and special sauce that’s the true hero of this story." - jackie gutierrez jones 2

The Best Bars in Birmingham, Alabama | Eater Atlanta

"Opening a bar in 2021 is already a major feat, but Juniper took that accomplishment several steps further and became a thriving part of Forest Park. The gin-focused bar emphasizes both the spirit’s history and botanical nature, taking design notes from Victorian-era gin palaces and honoring plant life both indoors and out. Their outdoor space is more of a courtyard than a patio, and the interior walls are bedecked with floral arrangements and oil paintings. It’s the kind of place to impress someone who appreciates a good cocktail and aesthetics—Juniper’s so Instagrammable it’s constantly rented out or used as a venue for proposals." - Sarra Sedghi

Juniper Review - Garment District - New York - The Infatuation

"Juniper has an extremely long bar. So it’s perfect for when you need to drink with a large number of people, but you don't necessarily want to talk to all of them at the same time. If you’d rather sit at a table, this place has a lot of those as well, along with some banquette seating in a raised area at the back. Essentially, Juniper is just a big, nice pub - and it’s the sort of spot where you can either eat a good burger or a piece of salmon, or just drink whiskey while you watch people play sports on a big flatscreen TV." - Bryan Kim

The atmosphere is to die for! And not just because it's so well decorated, but the emotional atmosphere is lovely too. Fun yet relaxing, it didn't feel over crowded or loud. The drinks were amazing! My first time having a gin and tonic, Bunny recommended me the Empress and Elderflower 💕tysm. Honestly Bunny was amazing, we know it's difficult to serve large tables and our family particularly with our diet restrictions can be a lot to juggle, but it was never an issue. And the food was AMAZING, so aromatic and ridiculously delicious! My carnivorous partner said my vegan croquettes were better than his chicken curry roll 😋 not that his was bad, mine was just better. Overall an amazing time and my new favorite place!

Stopped by here for few drinks and some food and had a good experience with the place. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Drinks were creative and good. We liked food too. Liked both inside seating area and outside patio.

Looking for a hangout with delicious tapas and drinks? This is a great spot. Juniper is a one of a kind spot. I no over back from San Francisco recently. I am always looking for good spots. This one checks all the boxes. I love the atmosphere and decor. It’s a comfortable and easy place to talk while enjoying good food and drinks. I am a big fan of tapas. This is one of Birmingham’s jewels.

It’s always a great time at Juniper. Our drinks were amazing per usual, and we were very impressed by their new brunch menu!!

Google
As a gin lover, I’ve been dying to try this place out. Atmosphere is charming and the patio a MUST if weather allows. Service was exceptional and drinks were great. They have other alcohols available as well

Google
Juniper is something that I felt I can only close my eyes and dream up in my head but the fact that it A.) exists B.) looks as good in person as it does in pictures is just ✨ I have been there twice since I would say it is more suited for a night out with friends or a date (I have three little ones). We got the vegetable plate and the burger— flavors were perfect and memorable. I definitely will be back to celebrate and bask in the beautiful surroundings they’ve created to mirror their colorful plates

We dropped in for a drink at 4 on Saturday, just after Juniper opened. We opted for the patio this time, which is lovely and inviting. Drink prices are on the high end, but they're good. Being a whiskey lover the drink menu didn't thrill me, but the drinks we had were very good. The Garnet gave me the boozy presence I wanted with complex layered flavors. The Pimm's was refreshing and tasty. I've visited Juniper several times now and their drinks and food have been excellent and creative each time.

Food is creative and well prepared. Ditto for the bar. Ever heard of a buzz berry? Staff is professional and charismatic.

Yelp
This is my favorite bar in all of Birmingham. Not only are the drinks, amazing, but their food ... it is versatile with edamame hummus, Korean sandwiches duck fat fries, etc. which taste phenomenal! Also, they have the most unique ambience, which makes me feel like I'm sitting in a magical garden! There is literally a tree in the middle of the bar. The service has always been amazing, and I come here for any excuse, whether it's a birthday or to catch up with an old friend, or when I am showing people around Birmingham.

Yelp
Such a fun place to get a drink and small bites! Even dinner if you'd want. The buzz button drink was fun to try. It's a small flower that makes your mouth numb and tingly. The idea is to take a few sips of your drink, eat the flower, then take a few more sips and it changes the taste of the drink. Very fun! The atmosphere is adorable and very picturesque. Service has been friendly both times I've been. A very unique addition to bham!

Yelp
We stopped at Juniper looking for a nice dinner while we were heading to Southern Mississippi. While the menu was small, the dishes we had were delicious and exquisite. The drinks were also quite tasty - more so for my partner who loves gin, but I found things I enjoyed as well. We'd happily stop in again.

Yelp
Service was so/so on this occasion. Usually, service is really good! Drinks and food are always amazing here! Cool/hip vibe with art and plants! Indoor and outdoor seating!

Yelp
Let the fun beGIN! My wife & I had a lovely time at Juniper last night. This was our 1st time dining here. Juniper is a cocktail bar/restaurant located in Forest Park's historic district. We started with the Hummus featuring edamame, black garlic, chili oil, basil, furikake & pita. We agreed this might be the best hummus we've ever had. Definitely the most unique. I was sold the second I saw that it's served with chili oil. My wife had the Hearts of Palm (vegan crab cakes) featuring two marinated croquettes with breadcrumbs, nori, romesco sauce, salsa verde & a sprout salad. She was very happy with this dish. One of her fav Veganuary dishes (she's gone vegan for the month of Jan). It tasted so much like real crab cakes that you might not even realize this is a completely vegan dish. I had the special of the evening, the Shrimp & Grits featuring gulf shrimp with polenta cake, spinach, red curry sauce, Parmesan & fried shallots. I loved the addition of the polenta cake instead of ordinary grits. I feel the texture of the cake paired better with the tender, succulent shrimp. The red curry sauce was outstanding, though I'd describe it as more of a tomato gravy rather than a curry. Nice, subtle heat. Call it what you will, I'd order it again in a heartbeat! I was very pleased with our experience at Juniper. Though their cocktail menu is gin focused, they offer a broad variety of spirits. I was extremely impressed when I asked if they could recommend a vodka cocktail. Usually, I'm met with several seconds of silence followed by being offered a cosmo. Ginger recommended the Stormy Daniels cocktail with Kettle One in place of gin which ,Izzy, the bartender, whipped up for me. He even said how delicious it was. Sweet, fruity & balanced. My wife is a big fan of gin, so she really enjoyed her Pecan Pie Tai. Fabulously elegant atmosphere. I felt right at home. Knowledgeable service. Great ambiance for a romantic date night. Thank you for a fantastic evening, Juniper!

Yelp
Such a cute spot. Great food. Great photo ops. Superb customer service. I was able to enjoy the Crab cakes, both regular and vegan. The vegan eye my absolute favorite!! I'll definitely be back for them!! I also indulged in the duck fat fries with the chili aoili. They were pretty good as well.

Yelp
I stopped at Juniper to pregame before a friend's birthday. My GOSH - is this space gorgeous and welcoming! Whoever designed it lovingly included luxurious texture, color, sparkle, and florals. The whole place is a feast for the senses. The bartender was so kind and helped me figure out what to order. I'm a pretty basic girlie, and I like fruity/herbal drinks, so she guided me to the Buzzword which was citrus-y, refreshing, and bore an edible flower that makes your mouth tingle! Another bartender kindly made conversation with me even though I wasn't ordering anything else for the time being. I can tell this place is run by good people! :) I didn't try the food menu since I was about to head to dinner, but it looked SO GOOD, and the latter bartender mentioned that most items can be made vegetarian/vegan! Can't wait to come back. Thanks for your hospitality, Juniper!

Yelp
If you are a fan of Gin you will love Juniper- this is just the place that Birmingham needs. My favorite place to get a variety of gin and tonic. Very intricate artwork and attention to detail. Loved everything from the furniture to the artwork displayed. If not too crowded, I think the back patio is very worth spending some time outside. Also, be sure to get a few photos on the beautiful couch when you walk in. Overall, great staff and a great bar. They have great food selection as well

Yelp
Wonderful patio atmosphere for spring. Their marinated olives are my favorite in Birmingham, great to snack on at happy hour. I usually get a gin and tonic or Martini but I got the Buzz Word cocktail this time. Super refreshing and balanced. Love the fun wallpaper in the bathroom!

Yelp
If you have never been to Juniper, you definitely should try it! When we visited, it was packed, but luckily, we were able to get a table on the back patio. I highly recommend you request a table in this area. It is really pretty with arched doorways and roses growing up trellises. Perfect for a date night. Regarding food, they have a small menu, but what they offer is really good. We had a group of five and ordered a little bit of everything to share. I highly recommend the Duck Fat Fries. As a group, we agreed that they were amazing. Another dish that I really liked was the Edamame Hummus with black garlic, chili oil, furikake, and pita bread. I was wary at first when I read the description, but it was delicious, and there was plenty to share. The Honey Ginger Chicken with the peanut sauce, Thai pickle slaw, and the cilantro was also our groups favorite. We had three people who usually don't like cilantro, but they did not mind it here. For dessert, we tried the blueberry creme brulee and the strawberry bread pudding. I really liked both, and when you mixed the two, it was even better. Some members of our group preferred the bread pudding over the creme brulee. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The service was a little slow, but I attribute it to how many people were there and the small size of the bar area. Our waiter was very nice and apologetic.

Yelp
A nice small intimate place with nice aesthetics. I really enjoyed the music definitely was a great vibe. Drinks was really good and the food was okay. My server was really nice and knowledgeable of the menu and her recommendations were good choices

Yelp
We went to Juniper at a friend's recommendation and I am so glad we did!! The staff was delightful, the restaurant is beautifully decorated (including a very cute outdoor space decorated like a french garden- fountain and everything), and the drinks and food were 10/10. I wish i got our server's name, but all the drinks that we were recommended were amazing- especially the drink with the flower that changes your tastebuds!

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by for some cocktails and this place seriously did not disappoint. The atmosphere is cute with greenery all over and vintage type decor. The cocktails were to die for, if you are a gin person then this place is meant for you. I will note that a few people from my party ordered the expresso martini and since it's made with cold brew and not expresso, the drink was a bit weak. I ordered the juniper julep and East Indian collins- both drinks were lovely. I would love to come back to try more of their food since I saw a few plates on other tables and they looked very yummy.

Yelp
Oh do I love this place. I can not rave enough about the indoor and outdoor venue, the drinks, or the food. You MUST get a house gun and tonic, the buzz word (bite the flower- you won't regret it!), the duck fries, and the veggie plate. Always great service. Always great food. Always great drinks. You're welcome for the recommendation of a night you won't regret!!!!

Yelp
Such a lovely place. My wife and I had wanted to try it for a while and really enjoyed it. There was about a 30 minute wait at 6:30 on a Saturday. But we didn't mind because it's was such nice vibe and we were offered drinks by a number of staff while we waited. They also apologized many times for the wait, but it didn't seem to us to be out of the norm for a weekend and we didn't mind at all. We started off with the Duck Fat Fries and they were top notch. We devoured them. It took a good 15-20 to get them, but worth the wait. We both got cocktails and really enjoyed them as well. Our entrees were the crab cake and the pork belly sandwich. My wife really enjoyed her crab cake. My pork belly sandwich was a bit of a disappointment. The flavors were really great, but the meat felt overcooked so it was dry and hard to chew. I'd get it again if the meat was more tender. Our waitress was very friendly but also busy with a lot of tables. We loved getting to sit on a love seat couch and the atmosphere was really lovely. Thanks for a great date night.

Yelp
This restaurant has been on my list for a while, and I finally had a chance to go. I think it is a hidden jewel in Birmingham. All of the staff were pleasant and inviting. The decor was relaxing and desirable. Rex did an excellent job providing top level service.

Yelp
Wow the food is so good here. Everyone is so friendly too. When I walked in, I noticed the candlelit atmosphere and I wasn't fully sure if I would be able to walk in without a reservation, but she got me a table right away. I got the crab cake (the real one ;P) and it was soooo good. The crab cake was flavorful and the salad was also really good; it may look simple but it's not something you would normally get at home. I honestly loved my whole meal so I decided to try dessert and I got the blueberry crème brûlée. That was really good as well. All in all ten out of ten. You should definitely stop in. Ohh yeah and did I mean room the decor..I know it's a good place but someone put a lot of effort into making it uniquely elegant. It's so pretty!

Whitney W.

Yelp
the drinks and atmosphere were great. this is a location where I've enjoyed the food and drink many times. especially love that their cocktails are made with real, fresh herbs. However, I sat on the patio for a recent visit and wasn't able to stay very long or enjoy the food because there was a very distinct and powerful odor on the patio that smelled like hot, fresh dumpster.

Yelp
This is a very cute little eatery. Very earthy vibe with great craft drinks. The food is creative and tasty. The service is impeccable. I enjoyed eating outside and they even had live music.

Yelp
The environment was relaxing and inviting. It was very nice and chic. They didn't have very many food options but what they did offer was good.

Yelp
YOU ARE GIN-CREDIBLE! Everything about this spot screams boujie, posh and girly. I have heard about Juniper through the grapevine a few times, but hadn't had the chance to check it out for myself. About every other week or so myself and a friend of mine get together to check out a new local spot in the area. This week was a time for me to choose a spot. When we got to the area in which the GPS claimed Juniper was, we found some ample parking in a lot across the street. Then we walked right across the street. I do have to admit we had some trouble finding the location for which Juniper was at first. The more we walked around the colder it got, but then out of the corner of my eye I spotted it. As we walked inside the bar as packed. Which was surprising for the Tuesday night. Everyone was packed like sardines inside this small bar. The hostess offered us to either sit at the swing or at the bar. We knew we were going to have some drinks as well as some food, so we opted for the bar seating, but if we were just coming for drinks the swing would have been a fun place to sit. After all, how many bars have a swing inclusion? I don't think that balancing a plate of food as well as a drink while sitting on a swing would be the best idea, though it would be fun nonetheless. For my drink I ordered the Pam Am Express which was a delicious citrusy gin beverage. The garnish was beautiful and matched the drink perfectly too. Watching the bartender make this beverage was so entertaining too. You can really tell that everyone who works here pours love, joy and happiness into their cocktails. My entree was the crab cake. It was super delicious. With salsa verde on top oh how I am still dreaming of that dish. The salad that came on the side of the crab cake was out of this world. I am not sure if Juniper has a garden where they plant all of their fresh veggies, but the salad tastes as if it was freshly picked right from the garden. My friend got the duck fat fries which she raved about. I helped her finish them and think if I come back to Juniper in the near future, will be getting them. They were crispy, crunchy, but not at all soggy. The duck fat sauce on top was flavorful. it had a bit of a kick to it, though it was still delicious nonetheless. I loved my experience here. If you have not had the chance to come in, you need to. It is such a vibe and a wonderful outing experience. I would highly suggest coming early if you want a table, but if you would like to sit at the bar or on the swing and enjoy your time, then be my guest.

Yelp
Came here for an afternoon cocktail, and was very delighted to see how cute and quaint this place is. The decor is unique and cozy and gives me an Alice in Wonderland vibe. Got here shortly after opening and they were already buzzing with customers. You have have choice to sit up the bar, the cozy dining area or outside under the cover patio. Ordered the bread service and so glad we did. We were tight on time, so didn't stay long but we will most. Definitely be back to Juniper for dinner and drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service and pretty ambiance. The food was ok, however, there aren't many choices on the menu.

Yelp
Even though they don't have the wings anymore.. tear drop juniper is a cool Gin bar.. they have indie and outdoor seating.. Great service! Ginger at the bar is the best go see her
google avatar

Demetria R.

Yelp
Great trendy neighborhood vegan spot to have a cocktail or a meal. The vibe is artsy and eclectic. Great customer service as soon as you enter the spot. No one's spitting out sunshine and rainbows. Just a cool, what type of seating are you in the mood for? (patio, want to be seen or private conversation) very new and refreshing. The food ingredients were fresh and tasty. So many spices were dancing on my tongue. The sauces were spicy and the bread was hitting all the tastebuds! I would definitely go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Eat the flower, it's sour, way more sour than a sour gummy and it makes your mouth kinda numb, then the drink tastes sweet, then salty - The Buzz Word The espresso martini was perfect!

Yelp
Wow! Chef T and all involved in the magic that is Juniper have created and executed a beautiful experience! I appreciate and applaud everything that goes into the design, menu, drinks, atmosphere and vibe! If you want an excellent experience and amazing service this is your spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Juniper is absolutely marvelous. The crab cake is delectable and full of crab meat. The salad that's with the crab cake is always fresh and dressed to perfection. It adds just the right balance of freshness. The crab cake is a must have every visit there. The wings are crispy and have just the right balance of spice. The blueberry crème brûlée.....Hands down the best ever. No surprise that it sales out quickly. If you've not visited Juniper, you are missing out.

Yelp
A friend and I came here on a Friday night. We were able to take part in happy hour and find a seat at the bar! I couldn't believe it. The bartenders were all so fun and helpful! We enjoyed them so much. My friend and I shared the wings and truffle fries. The food was good. Despite me not being a whole wing fan. They did the job. I absolutely loved the French 75s I had! So well made. Great drink selection. Since we know Chef Thyme, he was so gracious to treat us to dessert. My friend and I shared the blueberry crème brûlée and the strawberry bread pudding. Both were YUMMY!! Don't skip dessert, guys! The aesthetics here are beautiful and I love the space. There's a patio area but I didn't get to explore it. Next time! We enjoyed Juniper and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I came here recently with friends and was so impressed by the great ambiance, service, drinks, and food. It was overall an amazing experience! I am not usually a gin drinker, but the jasmine gimlet was to die for!

Yelp
Such a vibe at Juniper!! It has adorable decor and amazing drinks! We tried a few drinks and our favorite was the buzz word because of the unique flower-drink experience! Also, great service!

Yelp
Love, love, love this place. This week I went 3 nights in a row. I have yet to try their food, but I would like to next time! You honestly can't go wrong with any of their drinks. They've had a massive menu glowup since when they first opened. I love the Nolet's gin with the Lime and Yuzu tonic. The portion is hefty, and it's a beautifully decorated drink. Service is stellar and prompt even when busy. I also loved the seasonal hot lemon ginger tea. It comes with the most delightful chewy ginger candy. Can't even taste the gin! I will be returning time and again with new people to show them the absolute immaculate vibes of this place.
google avatar

Erin Camille W.

Yelp
I love this place. It's perfect for a group of friends or an intimate date night. It's in a cute little part of town and has some of the best cocktails I've had in Birmingham!
google avatar

Domineka H.

Yelp
I wish I could give more stars. Far exceeded my expectations. I loved the vegetable plate! And all the drinks I had were well thought out and balanced. This place made me love gin again. My favorite was Buzz word! (I think that's the name) The servers were truly a team. A well oiled machine. Atmosphere was relaxing. It was just the cherry on top.

Yelp
I've been wanting to check this place out for the longest time and finally got to come here with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. I mainly chose Juniper cause of the aesthetics and I knew they would make great backdrops. It truly is beautiful here and a great place for photos. The staff was also super friendly and accommodating and even helped us take a few pictures. Now let's talk about the entrees and drinks! I chose the Picadilly Portent as my drink. It was a a pretty pink drink and good if you like your drinks to be sour and tangy. I preferred my friend's East Indian Collins more and would order that next time. To eat, I ordered the duck fat fries and the salad. The salad was very tasty to me. It wasn't plain or boring at all despite just being labeled as "Salad" on the menu. I loved the white balsamic vinaigrette they use on it. The duck fat fries were so crispy and possibly some of the best fries I've had in a while. They never lost their crunch and never got soggy. I also liked the sauce they used. I tried some of my friend's vegetable platter, and it was great if you like curry which I do, but a little too spicy for her. They really try to accommodate vegans and vegetarians here so if you or your friends are, this is a great place to take them while also having some meat options. Lastly we ended the night with two desserts which were the blueberry creme brulee and chocolate coconut crunch bars. I LOVED the creme brulee and everything about it. It was a home run. The crunch bars reminded me of a homemade Quaker Chewy bar. They were okay, but probably not what we would order again. I did not notice their menu is pretty seasonal so I feel that gives me more chances to come here with the menu always being a surprise. I hope this place is here to stay cause there really aren't many places even remotely like it around Birmingham.
google avatar

Greg W.

Yelp
I wish I could give two scores here. Let's talk food that made it to the table and drinks. The food was innovative and delicious. The hummus had pickle vegetable and drizzle of hot oil spice. The garlicky hummus danced on your tongue. So good. The vegetable were superb. I was trying to guess the unique spice blend. I was thinking a more oil based suya. Maybe the vegetables are steamed did not see grill marks. This really really worked. You could go there just for the drinks. All better then the next. Not sure how that can happen. Here is my complaint and the server did a right by constantly making us aware. The vegetable burgers were being made when we showed up. So expect a time lag. Them the kitchen got slammed their not made yet could be longer do you want something else. We decided against anything else. I do wish I had the chance to try them though. I will not hold it against them. The food/drink they served was too good to hold a grudge.

Yelp
Another 5-star night at Juniper! Big thanks to Calvin for his rock-star customer service, inspiring fashion choices, and overall positive energy. And oh - to call a restaurant and get a live human who will take care of you. A girl, or boy or they could dream...or they could call and hopefully get to chat with one of the many amazing staff persons who grace one of our favorite neighborhood establishments. The blueberry creme brûlée remains my sweet tooth self's favorite dessert choice, with the hot chocolate possibly being a second favorite. It is unethical for me to fully comment on this selection as my partner (who has the delusion that he does not have a sweet tooth) said he would taste it and then shamelessly would not give it back. Next time perhaps I will be better able to fill you in. Last update worth sharing is that this fun place is about turn two, although they seem much more mature (but in a good way). Stay tuned...we will definitely be back!
google avatar

Davida B.

Yelp
This place is absolutely adorable!! I definitely recommend them for happy hour or dinner. Good food and great drinks. Calvin, the host, is literally the cherry on top of this place!

Yelp
Updated review! My first visit to juniper was close to when they first opened. The drinks were so incredibly sour that they were not drinkable and I had to ask for a simple syrup to be added in. The cocktails have massively improved and I really enjoyed almost everything I had I wanted to try the food but refuse to fork over $16 for fries!!!! I think that is more expensive than chez fon fon. So for now I'll just pop in for an occasional drink.

Yelp
Juniper is one of my favorite gems in Birmingham! The first time i visited my girlfriend took me for my birthday weekend. When you first walk in there is a cool funky just wall art vibe going on with a swing for you to sit and take a nice photo! We ended up sitting at bar and was greeted by Ronnie he has such a chill vibe, very nice and makes great drinks! For drinks my girlfriend started with the G&T and I had the buzzword (if you're into surprises and fun def order this drink) also Blake and Ginger are wonderful as well cool personalities, will strike up a nice convo with you while making your drink! We haven't had a bad drink here thus far. For food we ordered the duck fat fries.. these fries are so freaking good! My girlfriend will literally ask me to take her just to get the fries. For one the crispiness, the aioli just ahh chefs kiss *muah* we also ordered the strawberry bread pudding and the blueberry cream brûlée both great desserts! The blueberry cream brûlée is so silky and creamy a must try! Now I saved the best for last CHEF THYME, Chef T is the man. His vibes and aura are unmatched. Yelp
Excellent small plates by Chef Thyme. Creative drinks from the bar. Beautiful covered garden area out back. What's not to like?

Yelp
A great bar with drinks based o gin. The gin old fashioned is absolutely amazing! If you haven't been here, give it a try!

Yelp
Warning!!! Do not go! This is the best food, ambiance, drinks, and service in Birmingham and I don't need people taking our hidden gem. But if you do go, get both desserts, Zoe and Rex are incredible, and be excited about the decor and talking to random people equally entranced by this establishment. Also, the bathrooms are cute.

Yelp
We rolled in around 5:15 and the place was hoppin. People taking advantage of some good happy hour deals. Had the steak, which was very good.

Yelp
It's a nice place . But I found service a bit slow and drinks were fine . Not really up to the hype though

Yelp
Everything is lovely and delicious. Juniper is an absolute gem. I could live on their hummus, and their NA cocktails are gorgeous and creative and as tasty as their regular cocktails. Their creativity and attention to detail are incredibly high, but without being pretentious. Which is rare. I truly haven't had anything that was not tell-a-friend level delicious. Service is great and easy.

Yelp
My husband and I were on a weekend get away and stopped in here hoping to get a table for dinner. Luckily the wait wasn't too bad and we enjoyed a delicious martini while we waited. The mozzarella entree and crab cake entree was superb. The vibe is eclectic and upbeat. All ages fit in just fine! Make sure to check out the fun spot!

Yelp
Loved this cute little place! I tried the Buzz Word and I have to say it was so amazingly fantastic to say the least. I am not a fan of sweet drinks which I let our sever know about but yet he sold me on this cocktail and I am so thankful. It comes with instructions. You chew the flower in such a manner to coat your mouth which causes a numbing or cooling action. After you get your mouth ready to sip this cocktail and it tastes so refreshing and delicious. It's not overly sweet and is just so beautiful and tasty. I can't wait to go back to try it all. Unfortunately, we had dinner reservations elsewhere and time did not allow us to stay at this pretty little cozy bar. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This is by far one of my favorite cocktail lounges I've been to! I have friends that live in Birmingham and every time I come up to Birmingham to visit I make sure to stop by to grab a drink and the vegan crab cakes! Backstory on the vegan crabcakes, I developed a shellfish allergy about eight years ago and have missed the taste of crab and shrimp ever since. So when I saw these vegan crabcakes on the menu I had to give them a try and I actually got emotional from eating them (you can laugh because I did too) because it tasted just like crab cakes from what I remember! They are phenomenal and everyone there is so kind! My go-to drinks are the Bengal Merchant and the Buzz Word! Can't wait for my next visit!

Yelp
I have been to Juniper twice since they opened and both times were great. It is a Gin bar, so I believe they specialize in Gin drinks, but they do have a full bar so they can make pretty much anything. I had a couple of Moscow Mules that were super good. The service is great and the small plates were all really good. The vegan crab cakes are delicious! If you are starving, I might grab a bite to eat elsewhere before coming here. Definitely not a place to eat a huge dinner. The decor in here is insane. Whoever did the interior design is super talented. Overall, Juniper is a great place to go and grab a few drinks with friends. Good addition to the area!
