Google
I enjoyed this location. Service was really nice, a little slow. Drinks were well made. Atmosphere was great, view over golf course is beautiful I did not like the 20% surcharge. I assume that is tip, at least I hope so. If it was a fee build it into price.

Google
Breakfast was phenomenal. Fresh coffee, eggs, toast, etc with excellent service and atmosphere

Fried gnocchi? That’s a first (and last). Staff is super nice. The menu is a mystery ride 😀

Google
Love the food. Located in the Westdrift Hotel, the setting is relaxed, warm and inviting. The staff is pleasant and attentive. The menu selection is not wide but adequate. The food is perfectly prepared and presented. If you like fresh wholesome food , you won’t be disappointed.

Google
Atmosphere is nice. Food is ok. Had the shrimp tacos, which were dry. They needed more acid and some creme fresh or something. Green tea tiramisu was too cloying.

Google
The hotel and bar are is very nice overall, with games available, such as shuffleboard, jenga, foosball, etc. Regarding the restaurant, I find the food a bit expensive for the portion size. Very few GF items on the menu, and some things that should be GF are not labeled as such

Google
Staff exceptional. Richard, Reina, Stephanie, Renaldo, Claudia & more. Mark at coffee bar & Jasmin who makes a great bloody Mary also!!

Google
Fair without being outstanding. Slightly overpriced. You may decide to walk half a mile and get better for cheaper. This is my opinion.

Yelp
Had breakfast down in Jute every morning. My husband always ordered the yogurt parfait and I had the fruit bowl. One morning I had oatmeal. Service was excellent!! Coffee is served in a carafe, so our cups were always full. Huge windows look out to the golf course. A very pleasant start to the day!

Yelp
We were staying at the west drift and came for breakfast but because it was 10:45, they were turning over for lunch. First bummer! I really wanted to give this place a good review but the service was too slow and just lacked engagement. I write this with the caveat that I totally understand that this could have been a bad day for the server or they were short staffed. I'm not sure if it's a California thing where you have to ask for water (drought?) but we didn't get any or was offered any at any point during the whole meal. The food was good though, I ordered this scallop appetizer that was very flavorful and quite hearty. My daughter's bagel with cream cheese..not so extraordinary. To cap it off, no one wanted to take my money. I had to literally go up to the bar to find bodies to ask them to settle my bill. There are a ton of other great eating spots within walking distance...check those out! I got better service with my short interaction picking up last night's take out from Bruxie than I did being here for over an hour with this crew. It could have been an off day but perception is reality and I believe we can always be improving.

Yelp
I came here for the a La Carte Mother's Day Brunch and it was a great experience. They had complementary mimosas for the moms, craft table for the kids, music by Haley Fish Burger which was awesome btw and the fusion inspired menu was excellent. We had the churro French toast, ceviche, lomo Salgado, burger and chicken tender kids meal.

Yelp
Fresh ingredients with great flavor and impeccable service. We have really enjoyed this restaurant while on the property.

Yelp
This restaurant is ok. I mean for a hotel you expect a bit better. I got the breakfast buffet and everything was cold and hard. Mind you it was only 9am. The one thing I loved was the huevos rancheros. Sadly even though the breakfast was included I had to pay for my plate beCause you don't get credit.

Yelp
Lost a star with every course. Not to mention the lackluster service. Un-im-pressed. I was staying at the Westdrift on business, got in about 7:00 from Austin (so tired), and just wanted to stay in the hotel. Jute looked like a good option, with a good looking (but expensive) menu and some good Yelp reviews. Things started off great with the Shishito peppers, and I mean fantastically great. If it weren't for the service (more on that in a bit) I was all set for a sterling review. I like Shishito's in the first place; usually they are blistered and prepared with a little sea salt. I was a little skeptical of these, as they come with a little soy sauce, lime, and garlic. Turned out to be out of this world good. Crazy good. I could have had those all night. Based on the peppers I could not wait to try the Spanish Shrimps I ordered for my main. This was a "share or not share" plate, tapas style. However, whether you share or not just be prepared that it is not very good. My main complaint is that the shrimp were way overcooked. So much so that I considered sending it back. The sauce was also off-putting. It was tomato based, with some heat, and pieces of chorizo. Weird chorizo. Not ground, as I thought I'd get, but little pieces of a chorizo sausage that had the consistency of a "little smokie's". Strange. There was a bread garnish that didn't add much. After the peppers I was so disappointed!! Well, I thought maybe dessert would redeem Jute and maybe salvage a review. Nope. I had what have to be the most tasteless doughnuts ever fried. They looked great - just no flavor. Not exactly pillowy either - more like fried an hour ago. Some plain and not impressive ice cream to accompany this last gasp from the kitchen. Bummer. The service, as said was lackluster at best. Not an unfriendly server, just apathetic and missing most of the time. It was not exactly busy, so I don't get why I had to flag down my server for things. He also acted pained to be serving me, like he really had something better to do. Nice view of the golf course, if you like that sort of view. There look to be lots of great restaurants close to the beach. Next time I'll try one of those. No more Jute.

Celeste F.

Yelp
Jute has a beautiful view and delicious breakfast. We were greeted each day by our.smiling hostess Jackie. We were seated at Renato's table. He was extremely attentive and very personable as was Reina the other waitress that helped us during our stay. The breakfast food was very good, as was the coffee and brought out promptly by our exceptional waiter Renato. The view is very nice and you can ask to be seated outside overlooking the golf course. This is my second time visiting and enjoying Jute. The friendly employees were the main reason we returned. Everyone makes you feel at ease and welcome. We will be back again very soon!

Yelp
Definitely get the Thai Chicken dinner Entree (very moist and delicious, hands down better than any Thai dish I have had in Thai restaurants, and thats saying a lot, because we aren't in a Thai restaurant. It was so good we came back down the next day and ordered it again), Ahi Tuna Ceviche, and LAX to JFK Cocktail drink (Get your camera ready), and for salad get the buratta and watermelon salad. Desserts I would say the Tiramisu is the best and the way they present it is in a bowl. What I just mentioned is probably the best they have on their menu. I highly recommend coming for dinner (5pm and after) since that is when the dinner menu will be available. I came for lunch but left since the lunch menu wasn't really exciting. There is someone who made a bad review about the food earlier but it is pretty obvious they had other issues with the hotel unrelated to the food but had to passive aggressively put down the restaurant for some odd reason.... anyway the food was extremely good and I posted some photos of it. A full course meal for two people that includes appetizers and dessert and a drink will run you about $100-$130, not too bad at all for what they serve you. Also about 80% of their waitress staff gives great customer service the way it was meant to be. After all the bad service I have been receiving at other hotel restaurants, it feels refreshing and a huge relief to actually get some good service once in a while. Even the waitress that served us the day before (amazing service by a russian lady forgot her name but she was great) came by to say hello and bid us goodbye on our last day eating at the restaurant...phenomenal. Also the restaurant is located inside the amazing Westdrift Hotel which also has the most amazing rooms compared to anywhere I have been in California. The only hotel that comes close to Westdrift is the Paseo Hotel in Huntington Beach and the Avenue of The Arts, Costa Mesa. Either way definitely give Jute a try. I am starting to believe the reason why they don't have reviews on here is that people want to keep the place secret.

Yelp
We just had an amazing Mother's Day brunch buffet here. It was very fresh, lots of variety of foods to choose from, high end, and classy! They also set up a few things to do for the kids to keep them occupied. Everyone enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere here.

Yelp
I have been to the Westdrift hotels a couple of time. This is probably the only few places that I would eat "hotel" food. It is delicious and the wait staff are great! I typically do breakfasts and lunches here when I work conferences. I love their beet salad. All the other items on the menu are very good too. Tried many dishes, all yummy so far.

Yelp
I'm not one to eat at the hotel I'm staying at, but I break my rule every time I find myself at the Westdrift. I've only ever had breakfast here but literally everything I have had here is incredible! They have a beautiful outdoor setting, overlooking their golf course. It is extremely serene. Their breakfast chia bowl is DA BOMB!!! I got their fresh squeezed OJ and it was super fresh.

Yelp
I'm actually sitting in this restaurant as I write this review. The astronomically poor service both today and yesterday has left me unwilling to wait to get home to write this. I visited this hotel for a weekend conference and due to convenience decided to dine in during the lunch breaks. For such a nice hotel with an upscale vibe, the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Now, I see plenty of other people being waited on and attended to diligently, yet when I arrived yesterday requesting a table I was made to wait at least 10 minutes, completely ignored, until I flagged down two separate employees asking when someone will help me. I was then reminded of the buffet price, AGAIN, with the insinuation that I may not want to or be able to pay for it. Today, I was again ignored while waiting to ask for a table as others were quickly seated and acknowledged. The iced tea I ordered never arrived (this was requested at 12:15, it is now 1:10). The food also took about 40 minutes to arrive. I am usually not quick to jump to conclusions about being treated differently because I do not look like the ideal customer (being a younger Latina) but the complete and utter lack of attention toward me that all the other patrons received definitely made me feel purposefully excluded. The food itself was okay. I don't want to count this place off completely because it is in a beautiful location. I am hoping this was a random incident on a particularly bad weekend.

Yelp
Best Mother's Day brunch! Service was the best. Food was exquisite. I liked how they didn't crowd all the tables together. My family and I had a wonderful time.

Yelp
Such a lovely space and staff. I was guided from the elevator by a lovely employee who lead me to the restaurant, Jute. I was served by Jordan who encompasses hospitality he was considerate and attentive to my needs and my craziness of consistent relocating away from the sun while working on my laptop. He was accommodating to my work session and even broke up my time with a casual conversation about future travel work plans. Please come visit this location as a local or traveler - you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Wow! Marriott has out done themselves! I know this is no longer a Marriott hotel, it's one of their Autograph Collections - the Westdrift but for locals you will know where I'm talking about. The hotel lobby, bar and restaurant are gorgeous. Our table was along the open wall overlooking the golf course, pool and fountains. The lounge was lively with shuffle board and music. Our server was attentive and the manager even came over to recommend an appetizer, the cheese arancini, which were phenomenal. My husband had the hanger steak - super duper yummy - and I had the chicken meatballs, which were good as well. And our dessert, again another great recommendation this time from our waiter, adorable and delicious (some kind of mini, warm doughnut thing). I highly recommend this hotel for out-of-towners and restaurant and bar for locals. Plus, and added bonus valet parking is FREE for three hours with validation.

Yelp
Very nice place and service. Betty and Rayna were both terrific and helped us a great deal with our toddler and orders. They went the extra mile I had lamb sliders and they tasted amazing and didn't have a lamb flavor (in a good way). Almost tasted like wagu beef or high end meat. Had a very clean and well seasoned taste. My only suggestion would be to cut the hot spice just a tad. Food came at a very reasonable time Recommended

Yelp
Wow. I ordered the Spanish Shrimp as an appetizer and the Grilled Thai Chicken for an entree. I am so impressed with the quality, freshness, flavor and presentation of both plates! Absolutely delicious (and I have pretty high standards when it comes to food...) I highly recommend eating here! The live music tonight was great too. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in L.A. again.

Carina L.

Yelp
Things started going downhill immediately at the valet where they wanted to charge us $27 for valet or $23 for self-park. Finally, they agreed to just take care of it. (Turns out that the sign we saw afterward said $10 for valet for dinner. Guess no one outside of hotel guests have been going there!) Food is just ok. The atmosphere with open seating in the lobby is weird and space is not at all beachy or warm and comfortable. The waiter tried hard, but there were a lot of missteps including the fact that his wine list was different than what our table was given so drinks took a long time. Thai grilled chicken dish was flavorful until we noticed the inside of the chicken looked raw. Shrimp dish sounded good but was fishy. Lamb sliders were good and probably the best of what we had. We ended up canceling our dinner entrees, paying for what we ate and going to another restaurant for dinner. Too bad too as we are local and we could use more restaurants in the area. We will not be back.
