Atmosphere: K-BBQ Factory had an updated interior, but the seats were quite far apart from the grill so we had to move the benches and table to sit comfortably. However, the most memorable part of the atmosphere was the heat inside. We sat in a corner booth of the restaurant, and temperature-wise, it was probably the hottest K-BBQ experience we've had. There was almost no circulation in the restaurant, and even though there were fans and a portable AC unit, it was not enough to overcome the Atlanta heat and the warmth of the grill. We normally don't mind a hot K-BBQ experience, but our time at K-BBQ Factory felt borderline unbearable.
Service: The servers at KBBQ are friendly but they will by default grill for you which we do not prefer. We told our main server this and he was nice and understanding enough to let us enjoy our KBBQ experience but the other servers kept coming in to grill for us. We wish that it would be more standard practice for servers to ask if it was ok for them to cook our meats because we feel that having someone standing over our table during half of our meal is a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, the grill that we had went off one or two times and our main server had to keep relighting it to get it to work. In the end we were able to cook our meats but this was an inconvenience that we unfortunately had to experience.
Food: For the meats, we tried the Beef Brisket, Pork Belly, Seasoned Boneless Short Rib, Seasoned Cubed Steak, Spicy Pork Belly, and Spicy Roast Squid. We also ordered a Steamed Egg, Soybean Stew, Stir-Fried Rice Cake (tteokbokki), and Corn Cheese as sides. The meat quality overall wasn't bad, but the Beef Brisket was probably our favorite out of them all. It wasn't too fatty and had a good texture. We also liked how their Pork Belly wasn't too thick or fatty, as well as how their Spicy Pork Belly had a good kick to it. The Seasoned Boneless Short Rib was average, but we appreciated it being offered on the AYCE menu since this is pretty rare at other KBBQ places. The Spicy Roast Squid was pretty good and had a spicy seasoning similar to the Spicy Pork Belly. We least enjoyed the Seasoned Cubed Steak, as it was too thick and tough to chew. It also wasn't seasoned very well and once grilled, tasted like a bland, chewy piece of steak.
Overall: Despite K-BBQ Factory's decent prices and quality in terms of their meat, what lowered our review was the fact that it was extremely hot inside of the restaurant. There was very poor air conditioning and circulation in the restaurant. Even with the additional cooling units, we found that most of our energy throughout our meal was being used to try to regulate our body temperature rather than eating meat. This significantly took away from our dining experience and very much made it less enjoyable. We would like to give K-BBQ Factory another try if their circulation and cooling issues are resolved.
