New restaurant in the heart of little Tokyo. We came in on a Sunday evening and were seated right away. Some people came a little after us and they had to wait. The food was good and the chicken very crispy. Great garlic sauce! I know that they are new and they are ironing out the kinks. First, the food took a really long time. Being that they weren’t very busy at all, the food took a long time. Secondly, they didn’t put any dressing in my salad so I had to ask for it. They also brought the sides out before the chicken actually came. A bowl of salad and rice. My rice was essentially cold when my chicken got here. Overall it was a great meal. Once they get everything going smoothly it will be five stars for sure.

Great food. Chicken (and chicken skins) are deliciously crispy. The curry mac and cheese was amazing. Atmosphere is cozy, and service was very attentive and friendly. They let us try their new menu item (karaage), which was very moist and tender with the perfect amount of fried crisp. Sauce was also very good.

I was sad to see Karayama fried chicken close in Little Tokyo. But this restaurant, Kabuto, opened just around the corner of the neighborhood. And I'm so glad it did. The chicken is superior in every way. It is bone-in karaage. It is epic. It is crispy. And it is juicy as a fountain! Probably the juiciest fried chicken I've ever had. Well done brining process for sure. I've never had fried chicken that came from Utsunomiya, but all I can say is, this chicken is delicious! I got both the Kabuto and the Jidori set, which basically means I got every single piece of the chicken from the leg to the breast. It comes with two dipping sauces, the mayo and the spicy, both of which were great. I also got the mac n cheese, which was very cheesy since it mixes 3 different kinds of cheese to produce this taste. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the taste is well worth it. It's some of the best fried chicken I've ever had in LA. So if you are a fried chicken fan and are in the Little Tokyo area, give this place a shot. I shot a YouTube video of my experience here, which you can find if you go to my channel called Rockstar Eater.

It might be the best fried chicken you've had in your life. That's right, your whole life. Seriously. The chicken kaarage, pictured here, is a great appetizer, the beer selection, while IPA heavy, is fantastic, and I couldn't have had better service.

So happy they open up a Japanese style fried chicken around Little Tokyo. Lovee the cold tofu and the chicken comes with the perfect spicy sauce.

Best fried chicken I've had in LA. Freshly cooked so it does take a while, but the wait is worth it.

Came on a Thursday during lunch and there wasn't a line. The food was great, but service was slow. The Jidori chicken skin is super crispy and meat was juicy and tender. It doesn't seem like they batter their fried chicken, or if they do, the batter is extremely light. I also enjoyed the shishito peppers, seaweed salad, and garlic chicken rice. The only con is that the food took 30 minutes to come out. I'd still recommend giving Kabuto a try and would go back myself, but hopefully they improve their food preparation time.
