At the end of the day, no matter what I'm going to say in this review, there is absolutely no beating the prices here. My friend and I bought a feast for $16, including three types of dumplings, spring rolls, and pork buns. But if you want noodle soup I also saw that on the menu for like $7. When I saw that pork buns were $1, I was expecting one bun. Nope, I got THREE big juicy buns for $1. Literally where else would that ever be able to happen.
Here's what I recommend: the fried dumplings (pork and leek) and the pork fried buns. The fried dumplings came fried to the point where they tasted a bit stale, BUT I found the filling to be juicy and the skin wasn't so thick to the point that it wasn't enjoyable. I'd definitely get these again and they were absolutely worth the $5. I also recommend the pork fried buns-- the buns themselves were super bready, but I loved the meat inside. I brought extras home and threw them in the toaster to reheat them which made it even better.
I would not personally recommend the boiled dumplings. First of all, they take longer to make. But second of all, they're also just worse. The skin is so thick that there are points in time while I was eating this that I just thought I was chewing through bread. I also found the skin to be oddly slippery and just not that satisfying to eat. I would not get these again.
Happy to report the people there can speak English (I went in as an asian whose mandarin is so weak). There are two tables inside for communal seating and a bathroom. Just the bare minimum to have a good time! If you need something fast and cheap, you really can't go wrong.
